Blake and Lapis arrived at Team RWBY's dorm room and Lapis looked at the room.
"Not bad." She said then noticed how the beds looked and stifled a laugh. "Makeshift bunk beds?"
"Ruby's idea." Blake replied.
"That makes sense." The wolf Faunus said to her friend as the rest of Team RWBY arrived.
-Lapis-
I look at Blake's friends then see four others peek in. They were a team of two boys and two girls. One guy was blonde and the other had black hair with a pink streak in it. One of the girls had orange hair and the other had red hair. I immediately recognize who the redhead is.
"I'm honored to meet Pyrrha Nikos." I say with a smile.
"The honor is mine, Lapis Lazuli." Pyrrha says with a smile.
The four walk in then close the door.
"I'm Jaune Arc." The blonde says.
"Nora Valkyrie is my name." The orange haired girl says.
"I'm Lie Ren. It's nice to meet you." The black haired guy says.
I smile and nod. "Let me guess. Team...JNPR?" I ask and they nod.
"Wait a sec. Pyrrha, how do you know Lapis?" Yang asks.
"Word about the girl travelling the world with the intention of killing Grimm got around all the schools." Pyrrha says.
I look at them all then notice Blake slowly taking off her bow and revealing her cat ears. "Blake?"
"It's okay. We know Blake's a Faunus." Jaune says.
I debate following Blake's lead before slowly taking my helmet off, showing everyone my wolf ears. "There are a few details left out of my reputation. One being that I'm a Faunus." I say.
"...And another?" Pyrrha asks.
I don't answer then nod to Blake.
"...Her people were massacred by the Grimm." She answers then I feel her eyes on me. "You can tell them if you want. We're among friends."
I take a deep breath then look at them. "My parents began my training to be a Huntress when I was eight, but my hatred towards the Grimm started when I was ten."
-Flashbacks-
-3rd person-
One evening in the largest house of the village of Denn were three people sitting at the dinner table. One was Lapis, whose hair was shorter and reached her shoulders and her clothes were different as well. At the table were a man and woman with wolf ears like her. They were her parents.
"One evening after dinner, the Grimm attacked my village." The teenaged Lapis explained as her parents ran outside, her father dawning a familiar wolf helmet. "My parents told me to stay inside, but like any dumb kid..." She added as young Lapis ran outside shortly after. "...I didn't listen. And I should have."
Young Lapis saw her father impaled by the stinger of a Deathstalker while her mother was literally torn to pieces by a Beowolf. "Because my parents died that night...and like an idiot, I stood there frozen, unable to do anything but scream." The teen Lapis went on as the younger Lapis did scream. The Grimm soon left the village as the young girl held her dad's body in her arms.
"Daddy...?" The little girl said.
He looked at her and gently smiled. "Lapis...your mother...and I...love you..." He said.
"Daddy, save your strength." The small Faunus said then looked at the crowd gathering around and looking at her with sympathy. "SOMEBODY HELP!" She screamed.
"Never...forget...my pup...You...are...a...Lazuli..." He added before dying, which caused the small Faunus to wail and cry. "Even at that age, I knew I'd just lost my parents...forever. But my dad was right about one thing. I am a Lazuli."
Two men and two women walked to the girl and the bodies and she looked up at them. "And a Lazuli never stops fighting. My mom's parents took me in and continued my education while my dad's parents continued my physical training."
-Two years later-
A twelve year old Lapis was building her weapon, wearing the clothes she was wearing in the present. "When I was 12, I built my weapon Blood Blade and though I still had much to learn..." The 17 year old said as the pre-teen began defending her home from Grimm. "I stepped up to protect my people." She added as she was shown getting a scar down her chest from an Ursa Major before punching it hard enough for it to go back a few feet then explode. "And I was damn good at it." She put in.
She soon was shown looking into a friend's eyes as her own changed colors. "My mom's parents trained me with my Semblance. So long as someone looks in my eyes while they change through the colors of a rainbow, I can make them do whatever I want." She explained. "And while I was exceptional at protecting Denn...it didn't help much."
-Three years later-
A fifteen year old Lapis saw a massive wave of Grimm approaching and led the archer sentries at the gate to fight the Grimm, using Blood Blade's rifle function to help. "The largest wave we'd ever seen ran to our doorstep. I led our sentries to battle..." The seventeen year old continued as her fifteen year old self jumped down to the gate and readied her weapon's sword function then charged the Grimm as the archers continued to lay down heavy fire as cover, but it wasn't enough as the Grimm kept coming and Lapis was swiped by an Ursa and got knocked out from hitting her head on a tree, which broke her Aura. "...but it didn't stop them and I got knocked out."
"When I woke up, I saw what they'd done." The seventeen year old said as the fifteen year old eventually came to and saw the Grimm were gone...and her village on fire. "They completely leveled my village." The seventeen year old said while her voice was breaking, indicating she was struggling to not cry. The two year younger Lapis began walking through her village, mortified by all the spilled blood she saw. "I searched for any signs of life...but didn't find a single person alive."
The young Huntress in training ran to her house to check on her family, but the house was beginning to catch on fire. "I knew I couldn't stay in the village..." The present Lapis said as her past self grabbed her father's helmet and left the village. "So I grabbed my helmet, which was my father's, and left Denn."
-End flashbacks-
-Lapis-
I look at everyone to see them looking at me with sympathy. I feel Blake's left arm around me.
"After that, this Faunus named Veronica Vipera found me and told me...about the White Fang. She said they'd help me get revenge for my people. During my time there..." I say then look at Blake, who nods, then back at the others. "...I met Blake."
"Over time, she and Veronica got closer and became...partners." Blake adds.
"...Then one day, Veronica and I were attacking a Dust manufacturing plant. She told me Grimm were there...but there weren't any. Just humans. I was angry and hurt so once the humans cleared out of the plant, I used my Semblance on her and told her she couldn't move until I was out of her sight." I tell them. "Then before I left the plant...I used Fire Dust to help set the place ablaze and left before it exploded."
"...What about Veronica?" Weiss asks.
I shrug. "I have no idea. After that, I deserted the White Fang and travelled the world, looking for Grimm until I got here to Vale today." I say then sigh. "So there you have it. The full story of my journey to become a Huntress."
Pyrrha places a hand on my shoulder. "I'm very sorry about your people." She says.
"We all are." Ruby says and the others nod in agreement.
I nod. "Thank you, guys." I say.
"...Hey, why don't I show you around the school?" Blake asks to try and lift the mood.
I nod then she and I head out.
