-Lapis-

Once outside, I look at Pyrrha. "Thanks for that with Mercury, by the way." I say.

She nods. "Not a problem."

"He looked ready to murder you, Lapis." Blake says.

"...I may have fought and beaten him while on this side of Sanus." I reveal.

"So that means..." Yang starts.

"He has a grudge against her." Cinder says and we all turn to her. "I'm sorry about that, Lapis. He just refuses to let it go."

I shake my head. "It's okay."

"...You okay, Cinder?" Ruby asks.

Cinder nods. "Lapis helped me a couple days ago."

"With what?" Nora asks.

Cinder doesn't answer. "Must be the memory block...Telling them could risk that block coming undone...but my friends deserve to know." I think to myself, since Cinder told me a little bit about what happened to her and her sister when I met them, Emerald, and Mercury.

"...Cinder was put through hell when she was younger. She and her sister were adopted by a hotel owner, but treated like slaves. They had to walk on eggshells to keep the woman from zapping them with necklaces with lightning Dust in them. But her sister was often...used by men who were drunk at the hotel. Eventually, they'd had enough and killed the owner and her two daughters. The other day, I used my Semblance to lock those memories away." I say. They all have looks of sympathy for Cinder, but Weiss, Blake, Yang, Pyrrha, and Nora's expressions were also mixed with disgust, as did Jaune and Ren's, likely towards what Ash had to go through. Ruby seemed confused about what I meant, so I decided to not go into details.

I look at Cinder and see her holding her head in pain. I sigh and walk to her. "I can undo it, Cinder. You just have to ask." I tell her.

She nods. "Please."

I nod then have her look in my eyes as I use my Semblance on her. Once her eyes match then close, I take the memory block off then stop using my Semblance and wake her.

When Cinder's eyes opened, she realized that even with her memories restored, her wanting to follow through with her plans for Beacon were gone. She'd quickly chalked it up to becoming friends with Lapis. She smiled softly and hugged the Faunus, who was surprised at first but soon hugged back.

-Lapis-

"Thanks." She says.

I smile and nod. "No problem." I say.

She then walks off as I turn to the others.

"Wow. That Semblance must come in handy sometimes." Jaune says.

"It definitely helps every now and then, especially if I need help in a fight or need a distraction. At first, it'd take a few minutes to take effect. Now, it's just a matter of seconds." I reply.

"So that's how you got me to fight against Ruby and her team." Velvet says. I tense up and look at her. Thankfully, she doesn't seem to mad or upset.

I nod.

Ash was in the dorm room her sister, Emerald, and Mercury were given with the thief and assassin.

"What do we do?" Emerald asked.

"You say that Lazuli girl did it to her?" Ash inquired and Emerald nodded.

"Her Semblance allows her to control someone. She used it to suppress Cinder's memories, but it changed her in an instant."

"I wanted to end that girl with a tree, but Cinder saved her." Mercury said.

"Then during her final exhibition match...you kill her, Mercury." Ash said and Mercury smirked.

Unbeknownst to the three of them, Cinder overheard them and quietly left to find Lapis.

-Lapis-

Velvet and I are relaxing and she's giggling. "You seriously did that to Blake?" She asks, since I'd told her the time I slipped her some catnip.

I nod. "Yep. She didn't speak to me for a week when she sobered up, but I did apologize the next morning when she woke up." I say then hear someone running to us and see it's Cinder.

"Velvet, is it okay if I borrow Lapis for a second?" Cinder asks.

Velvet nods then Cinder and I walk a few feet away.

I look at her. "Everything okay?"

She shakes her head. "My sister told Mercury that he'll get his chance to kill you."

"When?"

"Your one on one exhibition match."

"Then I need to have a talk with Professor Ozpin." I say. "Come on!" I tell her then we run to Ozpin's office.

-3rd person-

A chime eventually came from Ozpin's desk. He, along with Glynda and General Ironwood looked at the elevator. "Come in." Ozpin said and the door opened to reveal Cinder and Lapis.

"...We're sorry to interrupt, Professor Ozpin." Lapis said.

"We'll keep this brief if you please give us a minute of your time." Cinder added.

Ozpin nodded and the two girls walked in.

"...Can I request my exhibition matches be invite only?" The Faunus asked, confusing the three teachers.

"Why do you ask, Lapis?" Glynda asked.

"...Because Mercury Black will do all he can to ensure he's the one Lapis fights in her one on one match, and if he gets his wish...he'll kill her in front of everyone." Cinder replied.

"...He did seem more determined in that demonstration. Does he have a motive?" Ironwood asked.

Lapis nodded. "I fought against him some time recently on this side of Sanus and won. He's been trying to get even with me ever since."

Ozpin considered this for a minute then looked at the younger girls. "Then perhaps it would be best if the matches are invitation only." He said.

Cinder and Lapis looked relieved and nodded.

"Thank you, Professor Ozpin." Lapis said.

The Headmaster nodded his head then Cinder and Lapis left the office.

Glynda and Ironwood looked at Ozpin, who seemed to be considering something.

"Her mother knew. It's only fair that she knows too." Ironwood said.

"It's too soon for that, James." Glynda objected. "She's a kid."

"She's 18, Glynda. She has that right."

Ozpin looked at them. "I'll consider telling her. For now, she needs to keep focused on her fights." He said.
