Chapter 15

New Experiences

After school, Ruby hung out with Tide for a bit, soon enough though the sun was setting and it was time for dinner. As she entered Cafe Connection, her eyes instantly wandered to the right of the room, where there were several booths with curtains in them. While some were covered from the inside, one was open. Inside the wooden booths were a chair and a table with buttons made of what appeared to be blue crystals.

"Over here sweety!" a kind female voice called out to Ruby, turning her attention to the counter and the large pokemon behind it. Alice was a large bipedal pokemon with a brown hide, which had several raised patches and a cream-colored belly. She had large, cream-colored ears, narrow, red eyes, and a short, rounded snout with two fangs in the back of her upper jaw. On top of her head was a thick, black plate. There were epaulet-like growths over her shoulders and a row of spikes down her back. She also had three clawed digits on each hand and foot and a thick tail. On her belly was an empty skin pouch.

Ruby smiled and said "your Alice?"

The Kangaskhan nodded and replied "yup, Jed told me you were coming"

Ruby followed her to a small table where a plate of orange and red berries was waiting along with a dish of water.

The Fennekin smiled and said "thanks, how much will this cost?"

Before Ruby could reach into her satchel, Alice shook her head and said "on the house, a youngster like you needs to eat!"

"Thanks...what are those booths?" Ruby questioned.

"Oh, those are booths where you can pay 10 Poke to make a call anywhere in the world, either to another cafe or an expedition orb if you know the number" Alice explained before walking away to take care of another customer.

Ruby happily ate her dinner, unaware that someone was closely watching her from the other side of the cafe.

A familiar water type, who had been watching her for the past few weeks, was sitting down to eat when she noticed the Fennekin.

"Hmm, maybe you are Ruby Rose" the Greninja muttered under her breath.

Blake was walking next to Jewel in Midnight forest, the cold air wasn't exactly helping her nerves.

"Keep an eye out and stay close, Elsa is wanted for petty crimes involving hypnosis, but her kinda isn't capable of hypnotizing more than one person at once" Jewel warned.

Blake nodded, but then heard a rustling in the distance. Jewel gave her a look and the two rushed after it, finally stopping at a small clearing. Sure enough, they saw Elsa, however, Jewel stopped dead in her tracks and covered Blake's mouth when she saw who Elsa was talking to.

Elsa was a small blue squid-like Pokémon. She had a transparent mantle with a rounded, pink body inside that had several yellow, circular lights. There were four lights on the front and two on the back. Attached to its mantle were two transparent tentacles; her remaining tentacles were part of her main body. Elsa had round black eyes and a pink beak-like mouth, she simply floated off the ground with Psychic energy.

"I'm ready for more training, what you taught me worked well!" Elsa stated confidently.

Elsa was talking to a tall, slender pokemon. The unknown pokemon had a primarily black body. Its head was teardrop-shaped, with a white, bow-like fixture attached to the base of its tip. The black skin on its head opens onto its purple face with a zigzag pattern resembling bangs. It had large, heavy-lidded eyes with blue irises and white pupils, as well as a small mouth with red lips. Four flat, black disks flanked each side of its head. Its body was split into four progressively-larger tiers, with its head and arms being attached to the smallest, uppermost tier and with a pair of stubby pink feet being under them. Its arms are thin, ending in small, purple hands with white disks at the wrists. It looked as if the pokemon was wearing a black layered dress with white bows on each tier of its body.

The Gothitelle gave a stern look and asked "do you have what I asked for?"

"Yes Saraxis, the flute is here" Elsa assured before revealing a beautiful blue glass flute from within her tentacles.

The Gothitelle took the flute and said "excellent, with this I can learn the sound frequencies ice types respond the most to"

Jewel whispered to Blake and said "that is an icy flute Alex and Blaze retrieved from Blizzard Island, no wonder the money stolen from Kangaskhan storage was so small and most was thrown all over the place, it was a decoy"

"Who is the other pokemon?" Blake questioned.

Jewel shook her head and tried to pull Blake away saying "that's Saraxis, an S ranked outlaw. I'm silver ranked and you're just now bronze. We need to retreat"

"So we're just supposed to let her get away?" Blake demanded, forgetting to whisper.

Just then a purple aura appeared around them as they were flung into the clearing.

"It seems we have some united guests, consider me sparing you after you led them here your payment" Saraxis stated coldly, causing Elsa to fly off in fear.

Jewel stood up and unleashed a flamethrower, however, Saraxis easily teleported away and appeared behind Jewel who turned around with her eyes closed before firing another flamethrower.

Saraxis was blasted point-blank as her hypnosis failed, though it did little damage.

As she dusted herself off, Blake pulled out her badge and fired the containment beam, however as the cage of energy appeared around Saraxis, the Gothitelle chuckled and replied "oh please"

The Gothitelle unleashed a massive psychic shockwave that dissolved the containment field and knocked Jewel and Blake on their backs. Jewel got back up only for a beam of multicolored light to finish her off, knocking her unconscious.

Blake struggled to move as Saraxis stood above her and began to hypnotize her. The Meowstic felt a pain in her skull as the psychic attack began, however, it lessened as Saraxis gave a frustrated look.

"Why are you able to resist me? Strong-willed? No matter, I'll break in there" Saraxis stated confidently as the psychic attack began anew, however, the buildup of psychic energy was repelled by a purplish shield that flickered over Blake's body.

"What?" Saraxis demanded as she intensified her mental attack, stunned by Blake's power.

The aura of energy suddenly turned black as Saraxis went wide-eyed, the black energy exploded sending Saraxis flying. Something within Blake's body had mixed with Saraxis's power and exploded.

As the shield around Blake's body dissolved into purple wisps, Blake's eyes widened. Memories, dozens of them filled her head at once, her childhood, joining the White Fang, and her decision to go with Adam to Vale along with the plan for the train heist, then it stopped. 16 years of memories have just been forcibly released into her mind.

Saraxis stood up, enraged as she said "fine, killing you it is then!"

There was a flash of light as Saraxis looked down, dozens of searing hot cuts were across her body. The Gothitelle's eyes were filled with nothing but disbelief as she fell to the ground unconscious. Someone had slashed her so fast that she hadn't even perceived the movement.

Blaze sheathed his sword and ran up to Blake as Alex captured Saraxis with his badge.

Jewel managed to get standing and say "how did you find us?"

Alex pointed to Blake and said "gave Blaze a pat on the back after he told me how Blake's training was going, then the dimensional scream tipped me off"

The Nintailes nodded, she had heard stories about Alex using the dimensional scream during the temporal crisis, but she didn't know it was true until now.

Blaze picked Blake up in his arms and began to carry her back to Treasure Town, the Mewostic was almost catatonic, standing there in silent shock as her mind struggled to process the massive information dump.

Alex figured something was up with her memories, but Blake needed to rest, and that would give him plenty of time to call Paul and fill him in…

2. Yup, a Kangaskhan with an empty pouch, given what we know about egg groups, they probably are born without the baby and the sprites aren't adjusted.

3. Yes, that Greninja still matters, I imagine some of you forgot her...

4. Blake has regained only her memories up to the nights before the train heist
