New Chapter. And if you haven't guessed, RWBY exists in the Stellaris galaxy. Why? IDK at this point. Anyways, I may create a spinoff of this story because I was both inspired by the newest Stellaris/RWBY story and the Templin Institute's 1077th Tank Regiment Video.
And before I forget, Canada's Remembrance Day is coming up. To all Veterans, thank you for your service.
Also, Commonading Effect will come out on November 12th. Still need to finish it up.
October 8th, 2913 UNS, 2186 CE
The Normandy, docked with the Citadel
"Commander, Admiral Hackett wants to speak with you." Traynor reported over the intercom.
"Understood specialist, I'll be there soon." Shepard sighed.
Ever Since the revelation of another Humanity in another galaxy, the extranet was busy. Vast amounts of conspiracy theories popped up, with many questioning which Earth was the original. Others believed that the United Nations of Solar Species was attempting a covert action to take over the galaxy, though admittedly the UNSS could just brute force their way into anything with their large fleet. That or go the Asari route and use their immense economic power to conquer the galaxy.
Still, overall Morale had gone up everywhere. The Reapers had suffered extremely heavy casualties and a large UNSS fleet was retaking the Trebia system. Coalition escort groups were annihilating Reaper ships that were harassing the terminus. And most of all, actual fresh food and other consumables were beginning to trickle into the Council space, providing some relief to aid camps. So Shepard could give his approval for this new Human nation, and their allies.
Shepard wondered what Hackett wanted to talk about. Considering that United Nations and their allies were kicking ass, the Normandy had a chance for rest.
Entering the comms room, a holographic projection of Hackett appeared. Also to the surprise of Shepard was a Human female wearing a dress of some kind.
"Commander, good to see you a bit more rested. We have a situation that our new Extragalactic allies need your help with." Hackett said.
"What can we do? Pretty sure that the Coalition can handle the Reapers while we regroup and rest up." Shepard replied.
"Not the Reapers. This is something that requires a more… local touch." Shepard turned to the other figure. A Human female with black hair, quite a bad scar on her face, and a cybernetic left eye.
"I'm Director Falls of the United Nations Intelligence Service. There is a developing situation that we could use your help with. It involves the organization of Cerberus." She spoke.
Shepard gritted his teeth. Of course Cerberus had to do something stupid. "What did they do?"
"Around 2 hours ago, Field Marshal Ross received a transmission from the Illusive Man. Apparently offered him a deal that didn't pan out. Here's the recording of the meeting." Director Falls picked up a data pad and tapped on it. A recording starts playing.
Recording begins
"This is Victor Ross of the United Nations of Solar Species, how can I help you?"
"Ah, Field Marshal. I'm-"
"Yes yes, your timmy of Cerberus. The organization that is actively trying to burn the galaxy. What do you want?"
"Straight to the point. I'm here to secure an alliance between our two segments of Humanity, so we can ensure the f-"
"I know about your experiments. Timmy, do you know why we're called the United Nations of Solar Species instead of the UN of SOL? Simply, we love our alien allies and siblings. I have no need to ensure the dominance of Humanity, something extremely trivial."
"Surely you understand that the future of our species is on the line. After this war, the-"
"You know why the Commonwealth of Man abandoned Human Supremacy? It's pointless, stupid, and overall detrimental to a nation's health. We've stopped caring about whether something is Human of not. We're Solarians. Whatever you're offering, I don't want it, you mass murderer."
"I'm only trying to preserve the Human ra-"
"I know about your fucking experiments Timmy. If you were truly dedicated to the defence of Humanity, your ships would have joined the Coalition and Council, your troops fighting alongside alliance soldiers, intelligence used to predict the Reapers. Instead, you sabotage their efforts, kidnap civilians, and counteract everything Command Shepard is doing. Fuck off."
"Field Marshal, surely you know that our species is superior."
"No, the nation is equally as important as the species. You know the United Nation's motto? To the Stars we soar, our diversity is our sword. Odd motto but it shows that any species is welcome into the UN as long as you don't screw with us. Racist prick."
"How dare you!? Are you trying to bring the extinction of Humanity?"
"If I were truly doing that, I would have let the Unbidden kill us all. Now get the fuck off my comm line or I will come after you Harper."
"How did yo-"
"FUCK OFF TIMMY! I HAVE A WAR TO WIN, AND I"M DOING IT THE MORAL WAY! NOW GET THE FUCK OFF MY LINES OR I WILL SPEAR YOU MYSELF!"
Recording Ends
At that point, Shepard broke out laughing. Both DIrecter Falls and Admiral Hackett grin as well.
"Field Marshal Ross is a stickler for certain parts of the Geneva Convention, and he was just in a firefight with some Reaper troops so he was pissed. However recently, it appears that Cerberus is preparing to launch attacks on Coalition conveys in retaliation for Ross's words. These conveys carry troops, supplies for the Citadel, armour, spare parts, and some upgrades for your ships. Obviously you can guess that if those conveys can't get through, you'll have a harder time fighting the Reapers." Falls continued.
"So what do you want me to do?" Shepard asked.
"Normally if this were a terrorist group from our galaxy, Crusaders, Hunters, Rangers, and other Spec Ops units would shatter them within days. However this is in your space. It's one thing to attack the extinction bringing Reapers, it's another to launch a counter insurgency operation against insurgents. The Council may not...appreciate our efforts." Falls explained.
"That's where you come in Commander. Both Director Falls and I have agreed that Cerberus must be taken out before they can risk Coalition reinforcements. We want you to temporarily head a task force of Coalition forces to root out these terrorists. In addition, you will also be responsible for figuring out what the Crucible does." Hackett finished.
"Wait a task force? What kind?"
"We're allocating the Enyo light carrier group, a number of Crusaders, a few stealth ships, and a Ranger Battalion to this operation. We need a guide and since we don't want you to lose your job, the Coalition has agreed for this force to be under your command." Fall explained.
"Wait, you're giving me a fleet?" Shepard asked in surprise.
"Clearly, the Council was too idiotic enough to not allocate thier prewar forces to dealing with this threat. Cerberus is observed to have at least a hundred military grade vessels of your kind. You'll need some backup and your galaxy is still crawling with Reapers. With Citadel and Alliance forces busy fighting the squids and Coalition assets still arriving, your one of the few skilled people to take them on. You've got the experience to handle this vermin do you?" Fall said.
"I mean I do, but I've never commanded a fleet." Shepard sputtered, before Director Falls raised her hand.
"Technically, you won't command the fleet. You're more of the overall commander. Rear-Admiral Long of the United Nations Space Fleet is in command of the Enyo battlegroup. Everything else, spec ops, stealth ships, etc, are yours." Falls continued.
"Very well. Who else is being assigned?" Shepard asked.
Director Falls looks at her datapad. "A First Generation Crusader under the name of Chris Chow. A friend of Ross. Canadian, though, has traces to Japanese families. Severed with Ross and Limburn for his whole life, most recently Operation Beacon of Light. Ended up adopting a number of children that now serve in the military. Mitchell is a lead hacker, strategist, and CQC expert. He will also be joined by Taryn Mchill. Also Canadian, first a Generation Crusader. Medic, linguistic, and a cook. I'll see about scrapping up some additional spec ops but that's all I have for now."
"Alright, when do we start?" Shepard asked.
"2 days. Make preparations if need be. Otherwise, relax commander." Hackett said.
"Yes sir."
Director Falls disappeared, leaving Hackett and Shepard alone.
"Admiral, what are your thoughts on this Coalition?" Shepard asked.
"When they're not shocking people to death with their big ships or causing more conspiracy theories, they've boosted our troops a lot. We've got another thousand warships reinforcing Alliance forces everywhere. Even Ross was taking part in the fighting himself." Hackeet said.
"Wonder what he's doing." Shepard wondered.
Menae, Trebia System.
2309th Unified Assault Division/ the Steel Emerald Maidens, (Objective: rescue besieged Turian and Alliance forces)
M7A4 Command Tank.
"Keep up the fire, take out that Brute on the right. Don't let it get close to our allies." Ross ordered as he hosed down a husk with a turret mounted Magnetic Accelerator Rotary Cannon as his tanks lead a charge against Reaper forces.
A shell exited the railgun of his tank, and vaporized another Brute. A few Ravagers managed to move up, but the turreted gamma pulse cannon on the top of the tank killed them easily.
"Good kill gunner. This is Comanche Actual to all 2309th elements advancing on objective Theo. Report in."
"(Comms) Colonel Fisona of the 8th Hussars Armour Regiment, on standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Chiuang of the 394th Armour Regiment on standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Ivonia of the 3rd Assault Regiment on Standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Violet of the 1st Expeditionary Assault Regiment on standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Branwood of the 2nd Assault Regiment on standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Tiquna of the 62nd Fire Support Regiment on standby."
"(Comms) Colonel Wivena of the 10th armoured Cavalry Division on standby."
"All Callsigns, this is Comanche Actual. You know the job, we're to relieve several Systems Alliance and Turian platoons in the area. Take out all Reaper forces in this region and bring those boys home."
"(Comms) Yes sir!"
Liberator and Templar mechs charged over the Luna surface, Railgun shells and pulse beams raining down on Reaper forces. IFVs ran over the occasional Husk, their autocannons. Ross's tank ran over another husk, flattening it.
"Gunner, target. Reaper Harvester, 2 o'clock. Load HEAT and fire."
"(Comms) On the way." an HEAT shell spat out of the railgun and smacked right into the Reaper harvester. The bird-like monstrosity was engulfed in flame and fire.
"(Comms) I'm pretty sure that the Grimm were a bigger threat than these things." the gunner stated.
"The Grimm came in the thousands every minute and they had tank-like organisms, of course these things are going to be easier to handle." Ross replied. "Gunner, husks 2 clicks out. 5 oclock."
"(Comms) Hang on, hosing them down with the Pulse cannon." Several gold beams of light slammed into a number of husks. Another large wave began to lumber towards the tanks, though combined fire from Liberators, IFVs, and Mechs dealt with them.
Another large group of husks and a few brutes advanced towards Ross's tank and his squadron. Not a problem. Swiveling his heavy Rotary Cannon, Ross depresses the trigger, and hundreds of shells begin to pelt the Reaper forces. Machine gun and pulse cannon fire rains down onto the Brutes. Many are simply vaporized, others are cut down by kinetic fire.
"All units, the area is cleared. Push onto objective Theo. Comanche Actual out."
Admittedly, deploying over 10,000 elite soldiers was somewhat overkill to rescue 300 soldiers. Still, the Coalition was mopping up resistance on Menae and soon the fleets would move on to Palaven itself.
"(Comms) This is Taipei Actual to Comanche Actual. Sitrep over."
"Taipei Actual, this is Comanche Actual. We're rescuing the survivors of a joint Human Turian battalion. Once we clear this area, myself and the 2309th will move onto Palaven.
"(Comms) Copy that Ross. Redeploy asap. Reports state that the Turians and Krogans are on the offensive. Seems that the entirety of the 409th Assault Army has turned the tides."
"Wilco, mopping up remaining resistance. Any news from the rest of the galaxy."
"(Comms) Nothing out of the ordinary. We got about a few hundred thousand ships coming from home, several hundred million troops, support assets, and what not enroute to the Trebia system. Though it appears that the Reapers are surging a massive fleet to this Earth. Phoenix Command has ordered the 13th UNSS and 19th Commonwealth fleets to halt them and to reinforce the Alliance 3rd fleet. Other nations are pitching in. Looks like the Reapers want us to bleed for Sol 2, so I say we give them a fight."
"Yup, not entirely surprised. The Reapers are desperate. What do we have for reinforcements?"
"(Comms) Aside from the regular units from our Coalition allies, our newest protectorate has sent us several hundred Hunters to help us out. Including our adopted Nieces and Nephews."
"I have a few toys for them if they want. Might have to make up for missing their last birthdays. Alright, need to mop up the last of the Reaper ground troops in my zone. Talk to you soon. Comanche Actual out." Ross then hopped out of his tank, grabbed a rifle, and walked towards an improvised outpost setup by the now relieved Turians after issuing some instructions to his tank crew.
"All 2309th elements fan out and hunt down any Reaper forces. Colonels have command from here on out. Good hunting, Comanche Actual out." Ross turned off his comms and walked towards the Turians.
"When we asked for reinforcements, we sure as hell weren't expecting an entire regiment of alien tanks and mechs to arrive!" A Turian Captain yelled as he vaulted a barrier and approached Ross.
"Actually it's a division. Over 14,000 men of the 2309th Unified Assault Division. Your position is the last allied force being besieged, and I decided to come here myself." the face of the Turian caused Ross to chuckle.
"Spirits, a division? No wonder the Reapers are actually retreating." the Turian Captain said in awe as he stared at one of the Templar Mechs.
"Ah, where are my manners. Field Marshal Victor Ross, United Nations Planetary Force." Ross raised his hand, which the Turian took and shook.
"Captain Aplius Badros of the 25th Legion. Glad to see that there are still Humans insane enough to win." Turian replied.
"Well, Solarians. Not just Humans anymore. Mount up, we got room in our IFVs."
Captain Badros then began directing his men to a number of Solarian IFVs and loading them up, with Ross returning to his tank.
"(Comms) Comanche Actual, this is General Corinthus. Come in Comanche Actual."
Ross activated his comms. "Comanche Actual here. What can I do for you?"
"(Comms) Good to hear from you. Can you bring back Captain Badros? I need to debrief him, and I'm going to assign him to your division when you deploy to Palaven."
"Copy that. We'll mop up some Reaper Resistance here and RTB." Ross hoped back into his tank when a large screech was heard and another Reaper Destroyer landed a few Kilometers away.
"This is Comanche Actual to all 2309th elements, can someone please kill that destroyer please?"
3 Templar Mechs and a dozen Liberator MBTs turned their guns and fired. Over a dozen EMP and AP shells, along with Gamma Energy Pulses slammed into the Reaper destroyer's barriers. The barriers collapsed and another wave of HE shells slammed into the destroyer, igniting Volatile Mote Warheads and destroying the Reaper.
"Thank you people. 1st Expeditionary, you're coming back with me. Everyone else, mop up and return to the Turian base asap. We're being redeployed to Palaven. Comanche Actual out. " The Turians just look in shock as they witness the first one sided tank vs Reaper battle. And the tanks came on top.
Honestly, today was a good day in Ross's books. Back in the fight, like he was trained to do. And like many times before, he had the biggest sticks to play with.
Gorgon System
Alliance 3rd Fleet (Objective:Survive until reinforcements arrive)
SSV Logan (Kilimanjaro Class Dreadnaught)
Another Thanix cannon round slams into a Reaper destroyer, obliterating it. The metal liquid round bypasses the Reaper's shield.
"Good hit, switch to that Sovereign class and fire." The captain ordered.
Another salvo of mass accelerator slugs impacted another Reaper destroyer's barriers. It barely survived the barrage until a wing of Turian and Asari fighters launched a few torpedoes and wrecked it.
Admiral Nitesh Singh looked at his holo-table. The third fleet of the alliance were some of the luckiest in the entire fleet. Being able to escape from the Arcturus system somewhat unscathed, the Third Fleet began to launch hit and run attacks on the Reapers. Unfortunately, the majority of his fleet was in a difficult situation. The 300 vessels under his command, mostly alliance but some Turian and Asari ships picked up along the way, had been cornered off by a growing Reaper Fleet. What few ships he had armed with the new Thanix Cannons were keeping the Reapers away, but it would only be time before the Reapers would start costing him more ships.
There was some good news however. Apparently, Commander Shepard had somehow contacted a bunch of races from another galaxy. Singh didn't hear the whole story but apparently they had found out about the Reapers a long time ago and decided to invade. He apparently just had to hold out for a few more minutes.
"Direct the 48th Corvette Squadron to take out those drones. Get the SSV Ningbo and THS Vanker to pin those Destroyers. And have all dreadnaughts to focus fire on that Capital ship at bearing 326." Singh ordered.
The 4 Dreadnaughts of the combined fleet turned and unleashed a torrent of Thanix and MAC rounds into a Reaper Capital ship. The withering fire eventually forced the Reaper Capital ship to retreat.
"Admiral! Reaper Dreadnaught is approaching the SSV Nyala!"
Singh swore as he could only watch as a 2-km Reaper Dreadnaught arrived to grapple ontop the poor Alliance Cruiser.
Only for a wormhole top open, spitting out a Commonwealth Battleship and ram straight into said Capital ship. The Reaper Capital ship crumples under the weight of the
'WHAT THE!? ADMIRAL! 5-Kilometer warship off the port bow of the SSV Nyala!" a sensor officer shouted.
"A what!?" Singh balked.
Said 5-km battleship sails past, narrowly missing the Nyala, and into another Reaper Destroyer. That was when the Citadel Council witnessed the power of a Coalition battleship.
The dozens of heavy Gamma beam Turrets locked onto a number of Reaper ships. And dozens of gold energy beams, reminiscent of the Collector fusion cannons but pure energy weapons, cut straight into the Reaper ships. It was a slaughter.
A Reaper Destroyer harassing an Asari Frigate group was vaporized instantly. A Reaper Capital ship was comically sliced in two by another beam of energy. The port side of the battleship fired several energy beams, causing Oculus Drones and a few Reaper destroyers to disappear from the intense heat. For nearly 2 minutes, the Council fleet watched as the battleship slaughtered Reaper forces left and right on it's own.
That was when the spinal mounted weapon fired. An arc emitter, it tore into a group of Reaper Capital ships, frying dozens of hostile vessels and rendering them inert.
Moments later, more 5-kilometre warships began to pour out of whatever FTL drive they used. Dozens, then hundreds from over a dozen nations arrived, along side Cruisers, Corvettes, and Destroyers, and Carriers. Several Reaper destroyers were grinded under the fleet, or simply turned into debris fields.
Onboard the Citadel fleet, everyone froze. Only the humming of computers and Eezo cores could be heard. For months, the Reapers had been demolishing militaries, fortresses, fleets, and armies. Almost nothing could seem to turn the tide.
And they had just watched a fleet, suddenly dwarfing the entire Alliance pre-war fleet, and demolish the Reapers with near ease. It almost seems like karma for the Reapers. Bullying the younger races only to have their backs broken by the newcomers. And soon enough, there were now hundreds of dead Reaper carcesses floating accross the system.
"Admiral? I'm looking at the sensor and IFF data we're picking up, something doesn't seem right." a sensor operator stated before handing Admiral Singh 2 data pads. He looks at the first one and sees a list of ship names.
VSS Winter's Warmth (CC-28907)
VSS Requiem's Anthem (BB-0983)
ZPV Royal Marathon (CC-12387)
ZPV Lortina Liforana (CV-209)
LCS Bachelor's Party (CAS-80957)
TCS Monetary Gain (CCV-9083)
EAS Shine Brightly through the Eons (BBC-0011)
"Ok, I'm confused here. What are these?" Singh asked.
"Ship names. Translators and VIs can barely make out those ones on that datapad. All we have are the names, ship numbers, and their designations. Now look at the other pad."
Singh looked at the second datapad, with another list of ship names, only to be silenced
United Nations Ship Germany (Terra Class Battleship)
United Nations Ship Clan of Zion Zaquari (Terra Class Battleship)
United Nations Ship Enterprise (Aragon Class Battlecarrier)
United Nations Ship Akagi (Aragon Class Battlecarrier)
United Nations Ship Ark Royal (Aragon Class Battlecarrier)
Commonwealth of Man Ship Markov Petrov (Whiteline Nebula class Battleship)
Commonwealth of Man Ship Muhtari the third (Whiteline Nebula class Battleship)
Commonwealth of Man Ship Maher (Unity Class Battlecarrier)
"Are those ships outside…..HUMAN SHIPS?!" Singh exclaimed.
"Sir, the IFF comes in clean. While the other ships' IFFs we can barley make out, the ones from the Human ships come in strong and clean." the sensor operator reported.
"Admiral! We're receiving a comms link from one of the 5-Kilometer Warships!" a comms officer calls out.
"Put it through." Singh orders, putting the data pads down.
On a view screen, a figure shows up on the screen. Said figure shocks most of the crew, as the figure seems almost metallic and rocky in nature. It admittedly looked like an ancient golem of Earth merged with a geth (Golem #01 if anyone's interested). And it spoke in a low, shallow, but focused voice.
"(Comms) I am Admiral Nitari of Dekh Kaolum race and of the United Nations of Solar Species 13th Fleet. I've been directed by Fleet Admiral Garcia of the Commonwealth to make contact with you and your fleet. Do you require assistance?"
"As if the galaxy didn't just get weirder." an ensign whispered.
"No, our fleet is still intact, somehow. Uh, thank you. Why is half of your fleet named after Human names?"
"(Comms) You haven't heard? There's another Earth in another galaxy and two very large and extremely pissed Galactic superpowers with a huge Human Population. They've, along with our allies, assembled hundreds of thousands of ships to help you in your fight against the Reapers. Commander Shepard….how should I say….'recruited' our aid extremely early on."
"(Comms) By recruited, you mean jumped into a system where the UNS Taipei was butchering Reapers, tried to run away, and got his ship boarded by FIeld Marshal Ross and Fleet Admiral Limburn." A Human voice called out. A Human Female of South American descent appeared and wearing a red uniform of some kind. She had a lack of medals along with having armour plates covering her body. Admittedly, She looked cu-, Singh shook his head and stared at this new human, barely able to comprehend what he was seeing.
"You-rr..You're Human?"
"Yes, Commonwealth of Man 19th Assault Fleet. Serving alongside our Illustrious allies to free this galaxy of Tyranny. We did it once with the empires of old, the Unbidden, the Marauders, White Fang, and Grimm. We sure as hell are doing this again." She gave a predatory smile, "Admiral Singh, would you like your ships to be upgraded to something more capable of standing up to the Reapers. We're about to go hunting soon."
Commonwealth of Man
During the 2090s, 6 great Arkships carrying millions of people would depart the Sol System. They would leave and depart to a distant world, using prototype Wormhole Generators. When the UN lost contact with the Arkships, most assumed that the wormhole Generators failed and all research was poured into Hyperlane Warp and Jump Drive Technology.
Unbenounced to the UN, the 6 Arkships survived and landed on a remote moon called Unity. The Colonists were forced to survive the harsh environment and local wildlife. Constant battle with hostile forces forced these settlers to become warriors, and to win. Soon, the Commonwealth of Man was set up, and the path to conquer the stars began. The moon would be named Unity and this young nation would begin to modernize.
In 2423 UNC, the Commonwealth would come into contact with several minor alien empires, leading them to conquer many of these races to protect Humanity. This action would lead to the Commonwealth having the third most diverse population in the Coalition, just behind the Former United Nations of Solar Species and the Federation of Free Nations. However, any attempts to conquer more species came to an abrupt halt when they encountered the Mutual Assistance Pact led by their Brothers in the United Nations of Sol in 2483. Eventually, the two powers would engage in a cold war, lasting until the Pact's involvement in the Age of Conflict, where the two powers would briefly align to pacify the known Galaxy.
During the Age of Silence, the Commonwealth began to feel unrest due to the lower tiers of Citizenship given to non-humans races. Caving into the outside Pressure, the Commonwealth promoted racial equality, and the Nation became more equal within its citizens, but still ruled by a military Hierarchy (think of it as a cross of the Turian Hierarchy and the Greater Terran Union). The Commonwealth would still continue it's arms race against the Pact, right until the Unbidden War.
During the Unbidden War, the Commonwealth initially stayed out of the conflict. However when one of the member states of the Federation of Free Nations were nearly overwhelmed by an Unbidden Armada, two Commonwealth Battleships strike groups jumped into the System and launched a surprise attack on the Unbidden. Coupled with arriving Federation fleets and the remnants of the 9th UNS fleet, the Unbidden were pushed back. Soon, the massive warmachine of the Commonwealth would be put into action against the Unbidden and along side their former rivals, the Commonwealth would play a key role in wrecking the Unbidden's dimension, as they provided the Dark Matter bomb.
During the Second age of Enlightenment, Commonwealth Fleets, alongside their United Nations counterparts, patrolled the galaxy, hunting pirates and scum everywhere. They saw little combat during the 2800s, aside from smashing a collection of Marauding Clans. Soon, the Commonwealth would grow to become the 2nd/3rd strongest power, with a massive industrial base, large swaths of resources, armies in the tens of billions, and a fleet of millions of ships.
During the Dust Wars, or Operation Beacon of Light as it's commonly known, a number of Commonwealth Scout units would be deployed to the planet of Remnant to observe the world and study the Grimm. When the battle of Vale happened, the Commonwealth 34th Rapid Assault Armoured Division, alongside the 2309th UNS Division, hastily deployed to Vale to save the City, the Hunters Academy, and eventually, the world. The 34th would earn the name of the Flaming Red Bulls, as they were dropped with their allies from orbit. The Commonwealth of Man would land tens of millions of troops to liberate the world and to this day, the Remnant Protectorate enjoys friendly ties with the Commonwealth, despite being a UNS Protectorate. Many Huntsmen would join either the UN or Commonwealth militaries or police forces, enjoying new lives now free of the planet.
When the Reaper War began in earnest, the Commonwealth, along with the newly christened United Nations of Solar Species, became terrified of what the Reapers were doing to the galaxy, and the damage they did to Earth. They mobilized over 500,000 warships and millions of troops, with shipyards and factories churning out war material, training bases packed, and AIs prepped for war. If someone wants to see Humanity burn, they will have to go through the Children of Unity and their many colonies.
2309th Unified Assault Division
The 2309th Unified Assault Division is an odd unit with a decorated past. It is one of the few Solarians units to have international units permanently embedded with it's command structure, with units from distant Kingdoms, planets, foriegn nations, and the old nationstates of Earth. It has taken part in every major conflict the United Nations has taken part in, and has countless trillions owing their lives to this unit. It's somewhat ironic that this unit was never meant to be a permanent force.
The 2309th traces its history to Task Force 23 of WW3, an ad hoc collection of surviving Allied armoured and mechanized units that somehow survived the Coalition's victory at Erzin and the decimation of a combined Russian, American, Canadian, European, and Taiwanese force in the region. Somehow remaining hidden, these units would be found and rallied by at the time Majors Victor Ross and Sophia Limburn, who were on a mission to capture a hidden Coalition Research post in the Khan Khokhii mountains. This ad hoc unit, at around 2 regiments of strength, provided cover and a screening unit for the Crusader Supersoldiers, who turned several captured cruise missiles against the Coalition. The Remnants of these units, once linked back up with Allied Forces, was designated the 2309th Armoured Regiment, and would serve until the war's end, leading the charge and capture of Coalition leadership in 2027.
Though disbanded in the 2030s, the 2309th would be reactivated following the revelation of the Unbidden, and became the first unit to be put under the command of the United Nations Armed Forces. The old national units were reallocated to this force, and the 2309th would be redesignated a Unified Assault Divisions.
The 2309th would serve with distinction during the next hundred of years in the UN's history. It became famous for its liberation of Camp Mithalow, where rescued slaves took up arms and joined the 20309th. Eventually, the UN authorized several forign units to join this force in the 2600s, including a Battalion of elite shock troops provided by the Commonwealth. From liberating slave camps, toppling dictators, storiming vaults, and building alliances, the 2309th would see lot's of action during the age of Conflict and Beyond.
Like most units, the 2309th did not see much action during the Unbidden war, as the war was primarily fought in space. However, the unit would see it's fame come back during Operation Beacon of Light, where they along with the 34th Armoured Assault Division were rapidly deployed to the city to halt the Grimm. With a large chunk of their military forces turned against them, the locals were on the verge of collapse when both the 34th and 2309th divisions were literally dropped from orbit and crushed a Grimm hoard on landing. These units would slamm into the ground and rain fire onto Grimm and White Fang alike, supported by Crusaders, Agent Falls, and locals. They would, alongside a collection of other Rapidly deployed battalions of the UNS and Commonwealth, local military, and Hunters single handedly taking back the city. The 2309th would lead the charge to death the Grimm, as it was said that Field Marshal Ross lead the final charge against the Grimm master, back in command of the 2309th. It would take the name of the Steel Emerald Maidens, as they sport the old Green paint scheme of the 21st century, and how they, alongside Huntsmen, save millions of people.
Being a division, the 2309th is made up of 6 Regiment sized units, each unit having over 84 tanks, with armoured units having over 140. Assault Regiments also have over 300 APCs/IFVs assigned to them, and at least 2 Battalions of infantry. These regiments include 2 Regular Armoured Regiments, 3 Assault Regiments, and one Fire Support Regiment with tank destroyers, SPGs, SPAAGs, and SAM batteries. The Fire Support Regiment is the largest, with over 600 vehicles. Lately however, a 7th Regiment has been added, the 1st Expeditionary Assault Regiment. This unit is crewed entirely by the natives of Remnant, and uses the Templar mechs instead of the traditional tanks. After the 2309th saved the city of Vale and later the planet, the natives demanded that they contribute a permanent force. The 1st Exp. Assault Regiment is made up of over 80 Templar-300 battlemechs, several Valkyrie IFVs, and even dozens of Huntsmen and Huntress teams, making it the first Assault unit to incorporate Special forces into it's ranks. The 2309th is also known to have adopted many Huntsmen teams that are willing to pick up arms and join the fight alongside their armoured Brothers.
Now redeployed to the Reaper War, the 2309th would claim the first tank to Reaper kills, their Liberator MBTs and Templars leading the charge to once again defeat Tyranny. If there's a fight and land needs to be taken, the 2309th will be there
