Chapter 1 - Awakening Part 1

Let the journey begin.

Izuku Midoriya was broken. He should have listened to himself, he knew it was over the moment the doctor said those fateful words, "sorry kid, not going to happen." The doctor was lazy about breaking his dreams, like he had done it hundreds of times already and didn't care anymore. Izuku ended up wasting not just his time, but everyone else's time too, even All Might. He had just taken the last blow to realize that he was wrong the whole time.

"I really am just a 'Deku' huh." Izuku said as his tone became somber and sorrowful, "Guess my dreams were just that… Dreams" Izuku said to himself. He walked home, alone. Not only physically, but mentally as well, there were no thoughts in his head, he was simply empty, sad, and alone.

He wanted to keep to his thoughts for a while, to figure out what he could do as a quirkless person, let alone what he wanted to do other than being a Pro Hero, one that makes people feel safe, even in the darkest times of their lives. But that was stripped away from him at birth, when he was only four he knew the truth, he just didn't want to accept it.

He walked down to a beach, it was empty, there was nothing there, not a person, not an animal, not even a single piece of rubble. It was all just gone, like how he was now empty, and barren.

The rest of the walk home was quiet, he didn't pay attention to the sound even if there was any, the only thing he could hear was his footsteps on the sand, and movement of the waves. Izuku soon stopped and looked out into the ocean, it was beautiful today, the waves curled and raised without missing a beat, the sunlight made the water glisten with bright white highlights, and the wind kept the waves from getting too high. He wished he could be like that, he wished he could simply move through the world without a care, gracefully like the waves, he wished he could follow his dreams like the waves followed the wind, gracefully, effortlessly, as if he already knew how to get from start to finish, he just needed to follow the path that was lead before him.

He knew it was not the way of a hero, but he couldn't help but think of it. He couldn't help but think 'What if'. He couldn't help but feel disheartened that he could move forward, that he was stuck in the back because of something he couldn't control.

The next few days were strange for the students of Aldora Jr. High, they had thought Izuku would be his normal self, someone that they needed to show their place. What they got instead was a broken vestal with nothing to carry, he was silent the entire day, he didn't take notes about any of his classmates of anything at all if it wasn't school related, he didn't mutter, heck he didn't even flinch when people looked like they were going to attack him, he simply looked… broken.

Bakugou was confused, he didn't even know that nerd was in class until he was called for attendance. He didn't even speak, he didn't write anything down, he didn't do anything, he was just there. The few times he spoke he didn't stutter, he spoke loud enough for people to hear, and clearly enough for people to understand. He only spoke when he was called upon, he was only called upon when the teachers had a hard question, there were only three that had a hard question, the nerd only spoke three times the entire day.

It didn't help that the nerd didn't even look up, he never ran into people but he never noticed them either, he spent every break up on the roof, in the corner behind the stairway. He didn't eat either, he didn't have food or money to begin with. Bakugou needed to keep an eye on him, he didn't want what he thought was going to happen, and he needed to be ready to stop it, if it did happen.

The end of the day rolled around and Izuku had made plans to stay at a nearby beach. He had decided that if he couldn't be a hero at least he could help carry the burden of others, so he wanted to study and become a therapist. He would also study to become a teacher if that didn't work out.

Izuku wandered along the beach until he found a good spot to sit down. He pulled out his phone and started reading everything he could on psychology, he didn't want to miss a single detail. He was lost in his own world of studying for a long time, he never paid attention to anything else.

He was then snapped out of this state when he heard a voice echoing from somewhere, "Hello?" It said, "Is anyone up there?" It continued. Izuku couldn't help but to go and investigate.

He stood up and walked over to where the voice came from, there was a hole that wasn't there before, it was big too, around 3 meters in diameter, it was deep too, he guessed it was about 20 meters deep. "Hello?" Izuku shouted into the hole, "Are you ok down there?" He shouted again. There was no response, he leaned in closer to try and see what was down there but the ground he was on started to crumble, and soon broke under his weight and Izuku fell into the hole.

Izuku groaned, his head was killing him. He didn't know how long he was knocked out, but he did know that he wasn't going to be able to get out the way he came, there needed to be another way out. He also needed to find that kid, they were probably scared right now, or worse hurt.

He got up quickly, not a second was wasted. Izuku took a quick look at his surroundings, he was in a cave system of some sort, only a few of the tunnels had lights though, he knew that the kid probably went down one of those tunnels unless he had some kind of night vision ability. Izuku chose a tunnel and started to go through it slowly, he made sure not to make any noise either, he didn't know what could be down here.

Eventually Izuku came across a small group of people trapped in cages, and three men in some kind of armor standing in front of a man who was on the ground, beaten. "Well if we can't beat the formula out of you, then we will be forced to use other methods. Get the boy." One of the armored men said, Izuku could only think that he was the ringleader of this whole thing.

As soon as the ringleader said that one of the men in armour to his right went to one of the cages and grabbed a young boy, he looked to only be five years old. "You see, I want, no, I need that formula. It will make me the most powerful person on the planet, not even the heroes of old would be able to stand against me." The ring leader said as one of the goons finished bringing the boy over to the group. "Now I'll make you a deal, you either tell me the formula or at least where it is." The ringleader stated as he pulled out a handgun, pointing at the boy who was now being held down by one of the goons. "Or the boy will die, and we will bring out another family member of yours to kill if you refuse again." The ringleader said menacingly as he aimed his handgun at the boy.

Izuku stopped thinking for a moment. He got out of his spot and quietly moved towards where everything was taking place. He noticed a metal pipe on the ground, it had a good thickness and seemed rather new. Izuku grabbed the pipe and found that it also had a good weight to it. Izuku then continued to move towards where the ringleader was. Izuku saw that the other goon had left by the time he had reached where he wanted to be, and Izuku didn't hesitate to take advantage of that. Then came up to the ringleader, who was unprepared for the sudden arrival of someone new. Izuku swung the pipe at the ringleader, hitting him in the head and knocking him unconscious. The goon that was there then got off of the kid and tried to grab his gun, but Izuku didn't let him as he ran up and swung at the goon as well. The goon was barely able to dodge the barrage of attacks that were sent his way and soon tripped, falling into a deeper part of the cave.

Izuku then ran back to where the captives were only to find that they weren't there anymore, and neither was the ringleader. All of the cages were empty and all Izuku could see was a patch of blood where the ringleader once was.

Izuku wandered through the tunnels, hoping to find an exit, but they all lead back to the same room where the ringleader used to be. Izuku decided to take a look at the cages and noticed that they made some kind of staircase, one that he would need to climb. Izuku didn't know why this place was designed like this, but he had no other option that he could take, so he started to climb.

And that is it for this chapter, I hope you all enjoyed it!If you are wondering about the fact that Izuku was able to defeat, or at least fight off actual villains then you will need to wait for the next chapter to get the explanation. Also I decided that instead of having the Mha characters use transformations of the previous Ranger teams, they are just going to be a new team entirely. I mean new designs for the suites, new abilities for the Rangers to have, and new Zords for the Rangers to pilot.Almost every Ranger and their corresponding color has been picked out. I want to add a few more students from 1B as well so please let me know who you think would make an interesting Ranger. With that out of the way I'll see you all next time. :D
