"Last time on Total Drama Revenge of the Island," Chris recapped, "We saw how clueless our campers are when it comes to fashion and how useless they are when it comes to rescues. In the end, Sam got the toss-a-roo, and Lightning and Scott got tossed onto opposite teams." Dakota and Topher were filing Chris's toenails. "You guys call that buffing?" Chris complained. "I want to see my ruggedly handsome face in every toenail." Dakota filed faster. "Yep," Topher agreed, "This will make you feel like you're thirty."

"I am thirty."

"Oh. Well, now you'll look it, too." Chris rolled his eyes. "Who will thrive and who won't survive?" Chris narrated.

Topher then heard a helicopter. "What's that noise?"

"This is the Department of Environmental Protections," someone shouted to Chris, "You're busted, McLean!"

"Aw, man!" Chris muttered, "Meddling tree huggers." He took out a walkie-talkie. "Launch Operation Doomsday! Repeat: Operation Doomsday! Over." He then turned to the camera. "What is Operation Doomsday, you ask? Find out right here, right now on Total...Drama...Revenge of the Island!"

Brick was doing some weight-lifting with a log when Lightning snatched it from him. "Hey!" Brick complained.

"This is how you do it," Lightning told him as he lifted it with one hand. "Prepare to lose to the Lightning!"

"I wouldn't get cocky. You have people like Jo on your team."

"The dude's okay." Brick just had a concerned look.

Confessional: Jo (Toxic Rats)

"Hey, Chris Mc-Lame!" The camera was zoomed on her face. "Guess what? You may put Brightning on my team, but you'll never break me. With Helmet Head prettying herself in the bathrooms and Vampirella doing 'flying practice', I have the girls' side of the cabin to myself. And I can finally work out like the Ancient Olympians: naked." The camera zoomed out to show that all she was wearing was a towel around her.

Jo was doing some jumping jacks when a little bird flew to the windowsill. It looked wide-eyed at her before puking and passing out. Meanwhile, the helicopters were flying over the island. Sky was doing some flying around with Dave watching her. "You're doing really great!" he shouted to her.

"Thanks," she replied. She landed next to him. "I wanted to get a little practice in before the next challenge."

"Hey, Sky?" Dave came a little closer to her. "I was wondering: do you like me, in any way?"

This knocked Sky off-guard a bit. "Well," she began, "I like you, but-"

"But what?" Before she could answer, Leonard ran up to them with a bottle in his hand. "I did it!" he exclaimed with joy.

"Did what?" Sky asked.

"I had sensed that evil was lurking on the teams," Leonard explained, "So I made a potion that will show a person's true colors." Unknown to them, Shawn was eavesdropping.

Confessional: Shawn (Toxic Rats)

"Potions, huh? He seems to be getting better. I need to make sure Magic Man gets gone today! Sky can wait for another time."

End Confessional

Over by the woods, Mike was looking for something in a bush. "No," he muttered, "No, not that...maybe..."

"If it isn't the Big Shot himself," Jo's voice called out, catching his attention. He turned to see Jo and Brick standing over him. "What do you want?" Mike bitterly asked Jo.

"Just sizing up the competition. Now that the Rats have one of your strongest players, prepare for a losing streak!"

"Um, I wouldn't-" Brick began.

"Could you be a bigger jerk than you already are?" Mike bitterly told Jo.

"If being a jerk is what it takes to win," Jo replied, "then I'll be the best jerk there ever was!"

"You're nothing more than a leech. You know that?"

"And you are a runt. What do you think of that?" Brick could only wince as the sound of a THUD was heard. Mike then grabbed his arm and dragged him off, leaving Jo comically stuck in a tree's knothole. "Mike!" she muffled, "Wait till I get my hands on you!"

Confessional: Mike (Mutant Maggots)

"That Jo!" He rubbed his head. "Do not worry about her. My biggest problem right now is Scott. With him on my team, we're bound to lose soon! Either I have to prevent Scott from throwing the game, or convince everyone to boot him if I can't catch him in the act." He sighed. "It won't be easy, but I'm not going to let anyone else be another one of that rat's plots!"

End Confessional

Mike and Brick were walking in the woods. "Mike?" Brick finally spoke up. "I'd hate to talk bad about someone, but don't you think what you did to Jo was a bit...excessive?"

Mike sighed. "I guess I'm a bit ill-tempered when it comes to people like Jo," he sadly replied.

"I understand why you don't like Jo. She's like a bug; always trying to get under your skin. Just try not to be too, uh, gruff next time, okay?"

"I'll try, but I'm not going to make a promise I can't keep." The duo continued to walk until Mike stepped in a snare trap. He tried to grab Brick to stop himself, but it only flung both boys up off the ground. "Just great," Mike sarcastically said.

"Uh, you won't let go, right?" Brick asked when he saw how high they were.

Meanwhile, Jo and Lightning had walked into the mess lodge. Everyone else, save for Brick and Mike, were waiting there. "Let's get this joke we call breakfast over with," Jo decided.

"We can't!" Cameron said. "Chef's not here, and neither is breakfast!"

"But Lightning needs meat!" Lightning declared, "M, E, uh, E...come on, we'll make our own breakfast." Everyone walked into the kitchen. "No food in the fridge," Dave said after he looked inside.

"Nothing in the cupboards, either," Zoey told them.

"We should check the walk-in freezer," Chef called out from outside.

"Hey, the freezer!" Lightning exclaimed, hearing Chef. He jogged into the freezer. "Sha-bingo! Meatsicle!"

"Yuck!" Sky recoiled in disgust. "Just the smell of meat makes me sick to my stomach!"

"Maybe there's something else in there?" Dave hoped. The two walked inside, along with Cameron, Samey, Jo, Anne-Maria, Leonard and Zoey. "In there?" Jasmine squeaked up.

Confessional: Jasmine (Mutant Maggots)

"I may be a teensy bit claustrophobic."

End Confessional

"It could be worse," Shawn told her.

"Can I-?" Jasmine began.

"Okay, but-" Shawn could only let out a gasp as Jasmine gave him an iron-tight hug. "Come on, lovebirds," Scott told them as he pushed them inside the freezer. Once Scott walked in, the freezer locked shut. It turned out that the freezer was a truck filled with meat, and Chef was driving the truck. "Challenge time, suckers!" he cackled.

"This is highly unorthodox," Cameron said as he hung onto a ham hock.

"Where are you taking us?" Zoey asked.

"You'll see," Chef mysteriously told them.

"Perfect," Jo commented. She then heard the sound of puking. "Looks like Batty got car sick." Sky, now the shade of an olive, had her hands over her mouth while Dave just stood there frozen with terror, a barf stain on his shirt.

Meanwhile, Brick and Mike were still hanging from a tree when something caught Mike's attention. "Raw meat?" he wondered as he sniffed the air, "And barf? Why do I have the feeling something bad is going to go down?"

"Speaking of down," Brick put in, "how are we getting down?" The branch holding the boys up finally snapped, making them fall hard on the ground. "Ask a silly question," Mike muttered.

"Sorry." The duo noticed a shadow looming over them. Meanwhile, Chef dumped everyone out in front of a mine entrance. "Finally!" Chris complained while he spoke to the teens on a flat-screen TV. "Today's challenge is to find a golden Chris statue in your team color hidden somewhere in this old, abandoned mine. First team out wins."

"That's it?" Leonard asked. "Perfect! Let us forge on!"

"Hold up, wizard. You're still missing two teammates."

"Where's Mike and Brick?" Zoey wondered.

"Here I am, team," Brick announced as he marched to them. "Sorry I was a little late."

"And Mike?"

"Well...he was a little more...reluctant to come."

Confessional: Brick (Mutant Maggots)

"I will say one thing about Mike. He doesn't go down without a fight."

End Confessional

Topher, now bruised and scratched up, was dragging a burlap sack and handed it off to the Maggots. "That's your problem now," he moaned. He then limped away. "Problem?" Samey wondered. Some angry muffling came out of the bag. She untied the bag to reveal Mike inside. "That Topher," he muttered, "bagging me like that." A heavy red sack was tossed at him. Chef tossed a bag to everyone else. "Relax," Chris continued, "there's one for everyone."

"What's in here, rocks?" Jo asked as she tried to open her bag.

"Uh-buh-buh, no peeking! Those bags are for your torment and my amusement. Enjoy!"

"Chemical badges?" Cameron wondered. "Why do we need to measure our exposure to toxic waste?"

"No reason, except that I rented the mine to store hazardous material." Everyone gasped at this. "Whoa, whoa," Anne-Maria scolded Chris, "Are you demented?"

"No," Chris continued, "which is why I'm in a studio right now." Everyone moaned at this. "Relax. It's perfectly safe...for thirty minutes. When your badge turns orange, you have fifteen minutes left. Red is your five-minute warning, and if you see a skull and crossbones, we'll dedicate this episode to you! But no way is it going to come to that. I sent Dakota down there for forty minutes, and she's gonna be fine...ish." Over by a medical tent, Dakota was stirring awake. "Huh? Where am I" she wondered. A chubby intern held up a mirror, showing that she was now bald. "AHHH!" she screamed. "NOOO! Chris is a dead man!" Topher, now bandaged up and holding an ice pack to his eye, backed away from her, along with the intern.

"Now, move it!" Chris told the teens.

"Can you at least give us a hint on where the statues are hidden?" Zoey asked.

"Funny story; the statues have gone missing. Someone or something must have taken them."

"Is it well-lit down there?" Brick wondered.

"It's a mine, bro. Pitch-black all the way. There's flashlights and fireflies down there; first come, first serve. Anywho, time's a-wasting, and so are your healthy blood cells. So go!" Lightning, Jo, Sky and Dave were the first to reach the shaft. "Lightning comes in first!" Lightning exclaimed, "SHA-BAM!" His shouting managed to cause some rocks to fall on top of them. Most of the Maggots, along with Shawn and Anne-Maria, passed them. "See you at the elimination ceremony," Scott sneered.

"Way to go, Sha-Duh!" Jo scolded Lightning.

Scott had stepped onto the mine's shaft. "What about the others?" Zoey asked Scott. She pointed to Brick, Mike and Leonard, who were all helping the rest of the Rats out of the rubble. "Well-" he began.

"Flashlights!" Cameron exclaimed. "We got them!" The shaft began to creak, and it suddenly propelled downwards, crashing down to the bottom. Everyone on the shaft groaned in pain. "Is everyone okay?" Zoey asked in the dark.

"I think so," Samey groaned.

"The flashlights!" Cameron realized. He switched on one, and the room lit up. "Look! A tunnel!" Cameron noticed. "Should we try it?" A loud squeal spooked everyone. "Looks good to me!" Samey frighteningly told him. They all went down the tunnel.

"That elevator is not coming back up," Jo told everyone.

"But we can't lose again!" Sky told her team. "We can't! WE-" Mike covered her mouth. "Why didn't I think of that?" Jo muttered.

"Why did you do that?" Dave asked, irritated.

"I didn't want her to cause another rock slide," Mike explained, "Remember what happened with Lightning?"

"I have an idea, guys!" Brick cut in. "We can shimmey down!" He grabbed one of the cables. "Come on, everyone," he gulped, "let's go!"

"You might need these," Jo slyly told him as she tossed him a jar of fireflies.

"Thanks!" As he grabbed the jar, he had let go of the cables, making him fall. He had to grab the cable with his legs, painfully sliding him down to the bottom. He breathed a sigh of relief when he safely arrived at the bottom. Jo, Lightning and Leonard landed on top of him, making him drop the jar of fireflies. "Great job, Butterfingers," Lightning muttered.

"We have to catch our light source!" Jo told him.

"What about me?" Brick told them. "Wait!"

"Losers wait," Lightning replied, "Me and him are winners, not losers!" He, Jo and Leonard dashed off.

"Come back!" Brick began to worry. "I am bigger...than the dark. I...am better than the dark." The area began to darken. "I...I'm lost and alone in the dark!"

"Brick?"

Mike called out.

"Mike? Is that you? I-I can't see! And-"

"Easy, buddy. You at least have your eyes open, right?" Brick opened his eyes to see a pair of yellow eyes staring right at him. "Mike!" he shouted. "Th-that thing from-"

"Brick?" Leonard's voice spoke up. "I came back when I heard your plea for help. Do not fret. I shall wash away this evil creature!"

"Leonard, don't!" Mike shouted but a SPLASH cut his warning short. "Guys?" Sky shouted from up above. She and Dave were flying down, with Sky's wings giving off a faint glow, lighting up the room. "What's going on?"

"I had vanquished a maleficent monster from these caverns!" Leonard bragged.

"Good work," Brick told him, "Right, Mike? Uh, Mike?"

"Yeah," Mike told him. Brick turned to see that Mike was now covered in a red liquid. "Great," Mike unhappily muttered.

"I had no idea your wings could glow," Leonard spoke to Sky.

"At times, yeah," she replied, "But enough small talk. We have a challenge to win!" Everyone ran off down the tunnels.

Meanwhile Shawn, Anne-Maria, and the rest of the Maggots were still walking down the tunnel when they came across two more tunnels. "More itsy-bitsy tunnels?" Jasmine stuttered.

"It'll be alright," Zoey told her. "I'm a little scared, too, but we can all get through this. Trust me."

"Which way do we head?" Anne-Maria spoke up. Samey had knelt down and was observing the ground. "On the right," she reasoned, "footprints left by a huge rodent."

"Rodent?"

"On the left, mine tracks! We go left."

"I say we go right," Scott told her, "because it's the right tunnel. Get it?" Zoey and Cameron just gave him a confused look. "We go left, and that's that," Samey told him, "Unless you want to be eaten by a giant, furrier version of Fang." Everyone walked down the left path.

Jo and Lightning were running after the fireflies. "Get your shiny heinies back in this jar!" Jo told the bugs. "Lightning, chase the fireflies to me and I'll catch them."

"Gotcha!" Lightning told her. "Alright, fireflies, Lightning's gonna- ah! Ah! They're biting me!" As Lightning ran back with the sparkle of fireflies, Jo slammed the jar onto his head. "Gotcha!" she cried out in victory. "Looking good, Light Source! Hahaha!" Lightning only frowned at this. Sky and Dave had caught up to them. "Finally!" Jo told them. They noticed the jar on Lightning's head. "You got the bugs!" Sky told them.

"Yeah," Dave agreed, "What a bright idea! Haha! Sorry, couldn't resist!"

Back with Samey and the others they had soon reached a set of mining carts. "These will speed things up," Shawn told them as he climbed in one.

"No way!" Scott told him. "It's too dangerous!"

"If you're a weakling, maybe."

"Excuse me?" Anne-Maria snapped at him. Her badge turned orange. "Anne-Maria's badge turned orange!" Cameron pointed out.

"Oh, my gosh! I only have, like, fifteen seconds to live or something!"

"It's fifteen minutes."

"Oh, well, that ain't so bad." She just filed her nails. Cameron and Samey gave her a confused look until their badges turned orange. "Shotgun!" they called out as they jumped into the front car. "I'll keep the ladies safe in the back!" Scott told everyone.

"I don't need your help!" Anne-Maria snapped. She was dragged into the back car along with Zoey and Jasmine. Samey pulled out the rock from underneath the wheels. "My first time on the rails!" Cameron exclaimed.

"Whoo-hoo!" Samey exclaimed as she started it up.

"I don't like it!"

Brick, Leonard and Mike were still in the dark. "We can still do this," Brick nervously assured himself. "Hey, a flashlight! Come on. Work." He then heard some heavy breathing. "Someone came back for us!" Leonard exclaimed. "Uh, is that perfume? It's, um, a little strong."

"I don't think that's perfume," Mike gulped. "It's more like a gopher. Don't ask how I know."

"Work, flashlight!" Brick said. The flashlight switched on, and standing above the boys was a huge, hairless gopher. The beast squealed, and the boys could only scream in fear.

"Good thing firefly bites aren't fatal," Jo commented as she, Dave, Sky and Lightning walked. "As far as we know."

"I hear you, dude!" Lightning replied.

"I'm not a dude!"

"Man, please. I can see you're a dude!" A beep cut their talk short. "Your badge!" Lightning told Jo. Jo's badge had turned orange. "It's orange! You only have fifteen minutes to live!"

"Well," she stuttered, "so do you!" Everyone else's badge had turned orange.

"No! This ain't right! Man, I've never kissed a Super Bowl ring!"

"And I never kissed a guy." Lightning's eyes went wide. "Uh, yeah," he replied, "It's cool, dude. Lightning don't judge." Sky and Dave just gave each other a look before they rolled their eyes at him.

Back at the mine carts, everyone was zooming at a fast pace. "We should be near the statues soon!" Samey cried out in victory.

"Uh, Amy?" Cameron spoke up. He pointed to the other car, which was now on a separate rail. "No!" Samey shouted. The duo crashed into the lower end while the other car kept going right to a broken dead end. "The track!" Zoey gasped, "I'm too young to die!"

"And I'm too hot!" Anne-Maria shouted. The car zoomed off the track and landed in some water. Samey and Cameron were conked out on a nearby ledge.

"Looks like our players are doomed," Chris announced as he watched the scene from a studio. "Will any of them survive? I have my doubts. But find out for sure when we return with more Total...Drama...Revenge of the Island."

(cue commercial)

Jasmine, Shawn, Zoey and Scott had bobbed back up. "Where's Anne-Maria?" Zoey asked. Anne-Maria came up underneath Scott. "Do I look like a life boat?" she angrily told him. She dunked him in the water but Zoey held her back. "I'm sure it was an accident that Scott landed on you."

"Yeah, an accident," Scott panted. "But I hope you guys realize whose fault this is. The mine carts were Amy's idea."

"But she didn't try to drown me!" Anne-Maria pointed out. A dark figure went after her, to the shock of everyone else. "Anne-Maria!" Zoey called out. "What should we do?"

"Get out of here before something drags us underwater," Shawn told her. He then swam off, with Jasmine following right behind him. "Come on!" Scott told Zoey as he followed them.

Over by the ledge, Samey was stirring awake. "Wha-? Cameron?" she muttered. She saw that he was still out cold. "Oh, no! Think, Sammy; if I was Amy, what would I do?" She hit him with her flashlight. "Get up, Four-Eyes!"

"Ugh, my head," Cameron groaned.

"Thank goodness you're okay! C'mon, let's find the others." The ground underneath her had gotten higher, and she looked down to find a mutant gopher under her. The duo ran off after it let out a squeal.

Meanwhile Brick, Mike and Leonard were running from another gopher. "Shoo!" Leonard told it.

"Go bug someone else!" Mike shouted to it. The trio soon ran into a large rock. The gopher stopped to smell them, and Brick and Mike noticed this. The gopher whimpered away once it smelled Brick's boots. "What?" Brick wondered, "You don't like my boots?" Mike cautiously took a whiff before he had to back away. "No wonder!" he nasally told him, "They reek like rotten onions!" Brick gave a confident laugh as he took his boot and aimed it at the gopher. "What's the matter?" he mocked. "Can't take the smell of war?"

"Could you take that thing away now?" Mike begged while he held his nose. "The gopher's gone now."

"No way!" Leonard argued. "That would be like having a staring contest with a gorgon!"

"Well, it stinks! And frankly, I don't want to smell like skunk right now! Look at us! Our friends and teammates are in unspeakable peril who-knows-where and we're lost in this good-for-nothing mine!" Mike slammed his fists against the wall.

"I've never seen you this upset before," Brick told him.

"And I don't like the idea of chasing after that thing," Mike breathed back, "So could we please-" A rumbling cut them short. "What's going on?" Brick wondered.

"I shall protect us!" Leonard spoke up. "Force field!" He tried to summon a force field but Mike, seeing the rocks coming down, pushed the two boys to one side while he ducked to the other side. Once the dust had cleared, Leonard opened his eyes. "Huzzah!" he cheered. "Success!"

"Wait," Brick told him as he looked around. "Mike?!"

"Over here!" he called out. Mike was trapped on the other side of the rocks. "You okay?" Brick asked.

"Define 'fine'," Mike replied. "I must have accidentally triggered a cave-in."

"We'll get you out."

"Hold on. I need you to go on ahead."

"But my code! I am NOT leaving a man behind!"

"First of all, if you tried to get me out, you might cause another cave-in. And second, I don't want you rescuing me. I need you to find the others and make sure they're safe."

"But- Mike-"

Mike coughed a little. "Take care of the others first. THAT'S an order, Brick. Don't worry; I'll find a way out. Just...take care of the team, okay?" Brick paused a moment before he nodded. "If that's what you think is best," he answered, "then so be it. Leonard, we have our team to find." Brick held tight to his boot while he marched off, with Leonard following behind. Once he heard that his friends were gone, Mike let out a breath as he got to his feet. "For the best," he muttered.

Over by the largest room in the mine, Anne-Maria was stirring awake. "Huh?" she wondered. "Where the heck am I?" The dark figure that was after her was sitting on a throne, with mutant gophers surrounding him. As the gophers inched closer, Anne-Maria put up her hands. "Stay back!" she warned. "You touch my poof, I'll touch you!" The figure snapped his fingers, and the gophers backed away from figure leaped off the throne and showed himself to be the still-feral Ezekiel. "Hey, ain't you that creepy stowaway kid?" Anne-Maria realized, "Zekiel or something?" Ezekiel sniffed at her, and gave a creepy smile. "Ew!"

"Freedom!" Jasmine cheered once she reached the throne room. Shawn tried to silence her but the gophers heard her. She clutched Shawn as she screamed in fear.

Jo, Lightning, Sky and Dave were still jogging through the mine when they saw a mutant gopher run past them. "Back, vile beast!" Leonard shouted to it as he held up Brick's boot. "Where were you three?" Dave asked him. "And where's Brick and Mike?"

"I'm here," Brick saluted once he caught up, "But Mike said to soldier on without him after he was caught in a cave-in."

"And you didn't try to help him?" Sky scolded.

"It was his order! Trust me, I wanted to but he refused any help." A sharp animal cry interrupted their thoughts. "Isn't that-?" Brick wondered.

"Not to worry," Leonard assured him, "We have your secret weapon!" Jo sniffed Brick's boot, and she quickly backed away. "Victory is ours!" The gophers' hands grabbed their ankles from underneath them. "Unless they do that." They were all dragged underground.

Back at the throne room, Anne-Maria was sitting on a pile of bones and carrots. "Will you stop?" she told Ezekiel. "I don't want any of this junk." The gophers around her squealed. "Not that I don't appreciate it, though." She gasped when Ezekiel held up a briefcase. "Is that the prize money from last season?" Ezekiel nodded before opening the case, showing a pile of ash. "Wow, thanks," Anne-Maria sarcastically told him.

Samey was carrying Cameron on her back as she ran. "First signs of chemical exposure are fever and nausea," Cameron moaned before letting out a belch.

"I hope the others are okay," Samey told him, "We don't want them stuck down here, right, buddy?"

"Buddy? Really? Cool!" Their badges beeped and turned red. "Oh, no! My first buddy and we've only got five minutes to live!"

"Finally!" Scott called out to them. He and Zoey had caught up to them. "We're glad you're okay," Zoey said, "But we lost Anne-Maria, Jasmine and Shawn!"

"Let's find them!" Samey decided.

"First, we should dump these packs," Scott said, "They're slowing us down!" The intercoms crackled to life in the mine. "Those packs of pain stay on until I tell you otherwise," Chris told them, "or your whole team is disqualified!"

"I knew Chris was watching us!" Zoey breathed in relief. "He won't let us die down here!"

"Uh, don't count on it. I'm more of a watcher than a saver."

"So, what now?" Scott asked. Zoey turned her head and gasped in relief. "Guys!" she exclaimed as she gave the figure a hug. "You're okay!"

"Zoey?" Cameron spoke up. "That's not our teammates."

"Isn't that...?" Samey gasped.

"Guys?" Zoey wondered. She took a closer look at the figure to see that it was Wolfie from the souvenir challenge. She looked at the wolf before smiling and hugging the wolf again. "Seriously?!" Scott told her. "It's just a stupid mutt!" He walked closer to her but Wolfie growled at him.

"He's a little territorial with Zoey," Cameron explained.

"Whoo-hoo!" Anne-Maria shouted from afar.

"That's Anne-Maria!"

"Quick, this way!" Samey told everyone.

"Can Wolfie join us?" Zoey asked. "If you don't mind."

"Well, I think we should-" Scott began.

"Go ahead and bring him," Samey said as she cut him off. She turned to Scott and whispered, "It would be pointless to argue, anyhow." They all ran to Anne_maria's voice to find her holding a jumbo-sized diamond. "That's more like it!" she cheered. "Badda-bling!"

"Congratulations, Helmet Head," Jo told her as she, Sky, Lightning, Jasmine holding a blue-faced Shawn, Dave, Leonard and Brick were suspended by mutant gophers. "Now tell you freaky boyfriend to let us go!"

"Oh, well," Scott said, "We'll never get those statues now."

"Keep it down," Cameron whispered, "Those gophers look blind, but they can probably still smell us!" The gophers came up to them and squealed, to everyone's fright. Wolfie began to growl at the gophers.

"Here comes the competition," Jo muttered.

"And a dog?" Dave wondered.

"I made a vow to my teammate," Brick declared, "and I'm going to keep it. Fire in the hole!" He flung his other boot towards the gophers by the Maggots. The gophers smelled the boots and gagged, then they ran off in a panic. "Thanks, Brick!" Samey told him.

"How does that help us?" Leonard wondered.

"If you want something done," Jo muttered, "you have to do it yourself. I'll get us down." She took the jar off Lightning's head, releasing the fireflies. The gophers couldn't stand them, and they dropped everyone off before running off in a panic. "I see the statue!" Sky called out. "I'll get it!" She flipped over the gophers and grabbed her team's statue, to the Maggots' dismay. She was about to walk off when Ezekiel came up to her and pounced on her. The statue was flung all the way to Anne-Maria's hair. "Come on, sweet thing," she told the diamond she held, "Mama's taking you home!"

Sky was still fighting Ezekiel when a dark blur tackled him off. Wolfie was snapping at Ezekiel now. "Careful, Wolfie!" Zoey warned the wolf.

"You actually care for that thing?!" Sky wondered.

"Well, it did save your neck." A whimpering cry snapped them back to the brawl. Ezekiel had tossed Wolfie out of the throne room and was now going after Dave. Sky flew after him and kicked him away. "Good riddance, huh, Zoey?" Sky told her.

"But what about-?" Zoey ran over to where she last saw Wolfie. She then saw someone laying on the ground. She went over to the figure and gasped when she realized it was Mike, now bruised and scratched up. "Glad to see you're okay," he groaned to Zoey.

"Oh, Mike!" she gasped as she helped him to his feet. "What happened to you?"

"Um, cave-in." The intercom's feedback cut them short. "If you can hear this, congrats!" Chris announced. "Wherever you are, immediately discard your bombs- I mean, backpacks, and run!"

"BOMBS?!" Dave panicked. "That's plain crazy of you, Chris!"

Samey had grabbed her team's statue. She then noticed Cameron, Mike and Zoey were struggling to walk. "I need to help my friends," she told Scott. "Here, hold this." She ran to help Cameron to his feet. Unknown to Samey, Scott had re-hidden the statue behind the chair and ran for the mine carts, along with Jasmine, Shawn, Jo, Lightning, Brick and Leonard. Brick turned to see everyone else struggling to walk. They gasped when they saw a gopher squealing over them. It tried to attack, but Mike was barely holding it back. "Mike!" Zoey gasped.

"I...don't know...how long...I can keep him away," Mike groaned. Brick was watching the scene. "Brick!" Leonard told him. "We must leave now!" Brick grabbed a rock and ran to the others. "I-I can't hold on!" Mike told Zoey. "If this is how it's gonna end, I have something to tell you. I-" A sharp THUD cut him short. Brick had knocked the gopher out cold. "Never leave a man behind," he simply said. He loaded everyone up in the mine carts before he hopped in. The cart moved at a fast pace and went over a few hills.

Outside the mine, Chris and Chef, now in hazmat suits, and Topher, holding up a fire hose, were waiting for everyone to get out. "They're really cutting it close," Chris told Chef. The mine carts came rushing out, and the Rats' statue was flung at Chris's feet. "The Toxic Rats win!" he announced, "For a change." All the Rats cheered. "How is that possible?" Brick muttered.

"Perfect," Scott muttered.

"All clear?" Chris asked Chef. He nodded. "Executing Operation Doomsday!" Chris pressed a button, and the mine exploded, sealing itself up. "This wasn't about the statues," Dave told Chris as he walked up.

"Sure it was. And as an added bonus, you just helped me seal off the toxic waste forever. And get the feds off my back. It's a win-win, for me."

"That's low, McLean," Jo told him, "Even for you."

"He just gets better, huh?" Topher told them. "And Chris said to hose you down, to prevent any genetic damage." He hosed everyone down. "Man, that is great," Chris said.

"You mean to tell me that you put everyone's life on the line just so we could do your dirty work?!" Mike bitterly told Chris.

"When you put it like that..." Chris replied. Mike nearly went after him but Brick managed to catch him in a brown sack. "Hey!" Mike shouted. "Get me out! What are you doing?! Brick, I know it's you; I'd recognize that smell from your boots. Where are you taking me?"

"You're heading to the sick bay," Brick replied. "After all you've been through, you need help."

"I'm just fine. Now put me down!"

"You're going to get help. No ifs, ands, or buts about it."

That evening, Scott was heading back to the Maggots' cabin when Shawn pulled him over where they wouldn't be heard. "You need to get Leonard voted off tonight," Shawn told Scott.

"And why would I do that?" he countered.

"Fine. I'll just tell your team that you hid your team's statue behind that throne, costing the team the loss."

"You saw that?"

"Yep. Besides, Leonard's becoming strong at his magic. He's good at that like B was with mechanics."

"I gotcha. He's gone tonight." The two shared an evil smile. Meanwhile, Leonard was fixing his potions when Sky walked in. "Leonard?" she spoke up. "I was wondering if I may have a potion of yours."

"Sure," he replied. "Which one?"

"That 'true colors' one, please."

"I think- hey!" Leonard noticed the bottle was half-empty. "I thought-"

"That should be plenty. Thank you. So, who were you planning to vote for?"

"I shall vote for Mike. I sense a dark force around him."

Over by another area, Scott was convincing everyone to vote off Leonard. "Leonard is starting to become a menace to this team," he argued. "He needs to go."

"If you think so," Zoey told him. Samey nodded in agreement.

"But why Leonard?" Brick asked.

"I heard he was going to vote out Mike, your best friend," Scott told them, making them gasp. He leaned in to Jasmine. "He even told me he was planning to get rid of Shawn." She gasped.

At the elimination ceremony, all the Maggots were seated, with Samey, Zoey, Jasmine and Leonard in the back and Cameron, Scott, Brick and Mike up front. "Time to boot out a Maggot tonight," Chris announced. "Amy, Zoey, Cameron, Jasmine, and surprisingly, Brick, you're all safe."

"Surprisingly?" Brick asked.

"Honestly, I'd thought you would be the one hurled off, but nope! That honor goes to-"

"It has to be Mike!" Leonard interrupted. "He is the evil on this team! I just know it!"

"Sorry, wizard," Chris told him, "But the votes say that YOU are the one going home!"

"Me?" Leonard ducked the green marshmallow flung at him. "But how?"

"You had six votes against you. Mike and Scott only had one each."

"Someone voted for me?" Scott wondered. Mike could only glare at him.

Confessional: Mike (Mutant Maggots)

"That rat struck again! When I get my hands on that weasel, I'll-" He caught himself. "Easy." He rubbed his head. "Just...breathe."

End Confessional

At the Hurl of Shame, Leonard was about to be hurled off when Dave and Mike walked up. "We came to see you off," Mike told him.

"You come to mock me, vile beast?" Leonard bitterly told him.

"Hey, I'm not vile! Besides, I didn't even vote you off!"

"But how-?"

"You can thank Scott," Dave replied. "I overheard him convincing everyone to boot you."

"Don't worry," Mike assured him, "Mark my words, Scott will go down. Your departure won't be in vain!"

"Gee, guess I had misjudged you, Mike," Leonard replied with a smile. Just then, Anne-Maria had hopped into the Hurl of Shame. "Move aside!" she told him. "I've got a jeweler to see and a bank account to open!"

"The Hurl of Shame is for exits only," Chris told her.

"Good. I quit. I don't need this two-bit show anymore! Look at this thing, I'm rich!"

"Not unless cubic zirconia has suddenly become priceless."

"That's a dud?" Dave spoke in.

"What?" Anne-Maria realized. "It's not...a real diamond?"

"Nope," Chris replied, "Practically worthless. Lamest mine ever. Why do you think I dumped all that waste in there?"

"Wait! I've changed my mi-" She and Leonard were hurled off before she could finish. "Dave of the Toxic Rats," Chris put in, to the boys' surprise, "Your team is now short a member, and one of my interns isn't working out. But I can't fire her or daddy will want all his money back so, say hello to your teammate rejoining you: Dakota!"

"You can't DO this to me, McLean!" Dakota shouted as she was held back in a trolley by Topher.

"Oh, yes I can. Contract. Ironclad." Dakota could only groan. "Best of luck," Mike whispered to Dave.

"Join us next time," Chris announced, "for more danger, treachery, and radical hair removal methods on Total...Drama...Revenge of the Island!"

Eliminated: Leonard (6-1-1), Anne-Maria (quits)

Leonard is gone, thanks to Scott. But not only Scott, which brings me to announce that the second villain of my story shall be...Shawn! Upset? Curious? Disappointed? Well, for me, I can actually see Shawn being played as a villain. And if you don't like it, well, you just don't. I'm not going to try to change your mind.

So, the elimination. Anne-Maria's departure you probably saw coming, but I bet Leonard's was a bigger shock. To be honest, I didn't see much more plot to him, and after the team swap, he was the first to go once the Rats had a victory.

Also, Wolfie makes another return. I know I've had reviews about this, but I think it's best I say this again like I did in Chapter Six: TIMING IS KEY HERE. (I know typing in all caps is the equivalent of shouting, but I'm trying to get a point across!) Once you see the whole story, you'll see why!

Dakota is also back, and the next challenge with be the buried treasure hunt. (With a little twist of my own; not too much, but not to canon.) That should be all, I think. If you would like to leave a review, please do! I enjoy reading and responding to those! This is Dunsparce519, saying enjoy and have a good day.

P.S. I looked up what a group of fireflies were, and a group is indeed a sparkle. Who knew?
