Chapter 3 Awakening Part 3

Heroes are forced to make choices that will affect everyone, and everything around them.

"Alright, how do I do it?" Izuku asked. He had a look of determination on his face, he didn't want to waste an opportunity like this. Avi smiled at Izuku's determination, he really was going to be a fine protector, not just as a Power Ranger.

"Ok, all you need to do is rotate the top half and click the button on the back. And when I say rotate I don't mean the normal way, I mean sideways." Avi answered.

Izuku didn't really understand at first, but soon enough he got the message. The closed the flip phone and then turned the top half a full 180 degree to the left. After Izuku did that Izuku felt something pop out of the phone a tiny bit. Izuku then pushed on what had just popped out of the flip phone and a bright light surrounded him.

The light covered his body head to toe and created a suit, one that soon stopped glowing to reveal what it truly looked like.

The suit's main color was a dark green, it had white stripes running down the sides of the suit, there was also a stripe running from the left shoulder to the middle of the right side of the waist. Above the middle strap there was a zero in the middle of the free space, while below the middle strap there was a leaf design that ran all the way down the suit to the boots. The leaves themselves were a bright lime green and every leaf had a white outline.

The back of the suit had a similar design with the only difference being that there was no middle strap so the leaves started at the top of the suit.

The helmet was simplistic in that it was a solid dark green color with a simple visor that looked like glasses (Like in Power Rangers Beast Morphers). The visor was surrounded by the same leaf like design the suit had, it only lasted two layers however.

The gloves and boots had the same basic design, they were pure white with the rim of both sticking out just a tiny bit to make it easier to grab onto, as a just in case. The boots also had black on the bottom layer, the bottom layer had special grips to make sure that it wouldn't slip on anything less than extremely smooth ice.

Izuku looked at his new suit, amazed by what had just happened, he felt a rush of power throughout his entire body that made him feel… complete.

He didn't know why he had this feeling while in the suit, or why he suddenly felt like a brand new person entirely, but he didn't want this feeling to end right now. He also didn't know if he would be able to stop. This feeling, it felt addicting, it felt like he had regained a part of himself that was locked away, and he wanted more. Power wasn't the issue he was facing, he didn't need more power, he didn't want more power, he just wanted to feel more complete, like a human being, rather than the speck of dust everyone knew him as.

Izuku's mental tone shifted from overjoyed and excited, to sad, dark, and lonely, as that sense of completion faded away into realization. Even if he could tell people about this, they wouldn't change their opinions on him, they still wouldn't care about him, they would just want to take this power away from him, to use it for themselves, even though they couldn't. They were going to use him in order to get the power he now had, and once they had it, they would simply throw him away like the speck of dust he was before. So in the end, he still would not matter, he still would not be a person and stay the waste of space that everyone thinks of him as.

Avi noticed the mental shift through a slight change in his demeanor. That didn't stop her from admiring the Ranger suit though, she may have made the Morpher but for some reason, the suit was seemingly created once the Morpher was activated. Avi didn't understand why this happened, she designed a different suit to connect with the Morpher but this one appeared out of nowhere. Avi found it odd, and would look into it later.

For now she wanted to get Izuku back into a better mental state. "Hey." She said, "You ok?" Avi asked with a worried tone.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just letting reality set in." Izuku answered.

"Ok, well in that case we should get to work on training. All Power Rangers are given a natural fighting prowess, but that won't help you in the long run, you need to hone your fighting abilities in order to not only keep them, but be able to face stronger threats as they themselves grow stronger." Avi stated. Izuku nodded in response to show his understanding.

"And what I think the best way to start is to watch the previous Power Rangers, the threats they faced and how they overcame them." Avi said, summoning a USB. It seemingly flouted in front of Izuku

Izuku looked at Avi confused, "Why do I need to watch something about the lives of the previous Rangers when what I need mostly requires training?" He asked before hesitantly grabbing the USB.

"There are many things that it can do. However, if you understand the power of the threats that you have to face, you will be able to prepare to fight something that strong mentally. Plus knowing your heritage as a Ranger may just give you a little more conviction to be a Ranger then before." Avi responded. "Now, you will need to plug in the USB to your helmet, there should be a port on the lower part of the back of the helmet for it. When you plug it in the video will start playing on the visor. For you it will feel like months, or even years watching how the Rangers acted during their period holding the power and being the protectors of their homes. However in reality it will only last about five minutes before the video ends, do you understand?" Avi stated.

Izuku nodded and quickly managed to plug the USB into his helmet, freezing in place immediately after, and for the next five minutes he watched all of the previous Power Rangers as they protected their homes, and by extension, the planet.

Once Izuku started moving again he quickly orientated himself before slowly removing the USB from the helmet. He then looked over to Avi and said "I have so many questions." Avi simply giggled in response. "Okay, what do you want to ask?" She questioned. "You said that there were people who were too old to be a power ranger, why did you say that? There were people who weren't teenagers to hold the power, heck almost half of them were adults." Izuku quickly responded. "I guess I should have elaborated on that, shouldn't I? Well you see, all of the adults that proved themselves worthy of the power were Pro-Heroes and had been for a while, they couldn't afford to take time out of their day to be a Power Ranger, and even if they could people would easily notice the changes in how they act and perform so they wouldn't be able to keep the fact that they were a Power Ranger a secret." Avi explained.

"Well that explains that." Izuku mumbled to himself. He then looked at Avi who had a bit of a stressed look on her face, if he weren't paying attention to it he wouldn't be able to tell she was stressed at all. "Um, I want to ask more questions but I think there is something more important we need to do right now since you look kinda stressed." Izuku said, catching AvI off guard. "Oh, uh, yeah. We need to see what kind of special abilities you have in your Ranger form. As you already know, each Ranger tends to have unique powers or weapons that separates them from the other members of their team, well most of the time anyways. But that isn't the point. Right now we need to know what powers you have, and if you have any kind of unmorphed powers as well." Avi explained. Izuku nodded in response to show his understanding.

"Great, now if you would please follow the indicators on the floor to get to the training room, that would be great." Avi said cheerfully as a pathway on the floor lit up. Izuku followed the path on the floor and eventually made his way to the training area. "Great, now that you are here we can start the basic tests." The disembodied voice of Avi said through speakers planted in the room. "So, what are these tests exactly?" The Ranger-in-training asked with slight concern in his voice. "I'm glad you asked. There is going to be a pedestal that comes out of the floor in the middle of the room. All you need to do is place your hand on the pedestal and be patient. I however will be generating a special frequency of morphing grid energy, with each different level of frequency matching a different power, once the frequency matches your power it will be launched outward in the exact opposite direction of you. I will be able to take a guess at what it is with your suit, but that may just be a general design choice of the new set of suits as well." Avi explained, "And then if you do have some kind of special ability, we will do the same test again with you unmorphed by playing the same frequency that activated your powers while you were morphed." Avi stated. Izuku nodded to himself before he started to walk to the center of the room.

Izuku was a little confused as to why a training room was devoid of any training equipment, or any kind of decoration for that matter as the walls, ceiling, and floor were all white.

A group of transparent blue cubes then started generating in the middle of the room. The base of the grouping was a 3 cube by 3 cube area, while it made its way up to half of Izuku's height. Soon after reaching it's full size it glowed blue for a second before disappearing, being replaced by a cylindrical pillar of the same size, with a slanted top facing downwards towards him. Izuku then hesitantly walked up to and placed his hand on the pedestal. Izuku was confused about what had happened and what the cubes were, he was also confused as to how they seemingly turned into the small pillar that now sat in the middle of the room. He knows that Avi hasn't done anything to actively harm him outside of the test she did, she was even willing to give him the power to be a hero. Izuku just decided to ask about it later.

"Okay I'm going to begin now." Avi said before the pedestal started to glow ever so slightly. It was only a second later when a large, fully grown tree quickly shot out horizontally from the other side of the pedestal. Izuku jumped when he saw the tree, letting out a loud yelp as he went back a few feet from the jump. He was unable to think of anything to do after he jumped and simply stared at the tree in shock.

"Huh, I didn't think the suit would make your powerset so obvious. It looks like in your Ranger form you have Chlorokinesis, or in simpler terms plant manipulation." The AI stated.

Izuku blinked, he could control plants. He had the ability to control plants. It was so hard for him to understand, let alone comprehend the fact that he had something similar to a quirk. He looked at his hands, still covered by the gloves that the suit provided, he was still in shock and he was still trying to understand that he has power in the first place, but now that he has something even more like a quirk, everything was starting to feel like a fever dream, like it wasn't real and he was just having a lucky dream, a long, long, dream.

"Hey, you okay in there." Avi asked, concerned at how he was acting. This managed to snap Izuku back to reality. "Oh, yeah I'm fine. This is just all so hard to comprehend. I never thought I would have any kind of power of my own, and now I have so much power that I don't know what I would do with it." Izuku responded solemnly. Izuku currently couldn't see it, but Avi had a look of concern on her face. She knew almost everything about Izuku, she just didn't know Izuku's past that well, but she knew if someone were to say something like that then it must have been pretty bad.

"Okay, you should be demorphing soon. Once you have, I'm going to need you to place your hand on the pedestal again." The AI explained. Izuku nodded, before he just started to wait for the morph to end. Thankfully Izuku didn't have to wait long as he morphed soon after.

Once Izuku demorphed he thought he would feel a sense of emptiness at losing the power boost he had just gotten, but strangely he felt the same when he was unmorphed, it was probably because he knew he would be able to morph again if he needed to, although Izuku couldn't be completely sure.

He quickly placed his hand on the pedestal in front of him and the tree that had set out of it not too long ago turned to dust. Izuku looked shocked for half a second before a small Bush shot out of the pedestal at the speed of a cannonball. Izuku was scared by the sudden leafy projectile and jumped backward, stumbling and falling over shortly after.

"Congratulations Izuku, looks like the unmorphed powers are a thing for this group, and from what I can see you have a weaker version of your Chlorokinesis when you are unmorphed." Avi cheered. "So, if and when new people join the team we can just assume they have a weaker version of their morphed powers when they are unmorphed?" Izuku asked. "Yeah pretty much." Avi responded.

"Ok now that everything is over and done with you need to go home. I'm sure that your mother is worried sick about what happened to you today. Come back as soon as you can so we can start training, okay." Avi said. After she spoke a strange looking pin came out of the pedestal, "Take this with you, it acts as a tracking beacon for the teleporter here in the base. All you need to do is tap it twice and I will teleport you to the main room, and don't worry I'll know if it is on you or someone else." She instructed. The pin itself was made up of two parts, a sky blue colored, diamond shaped crystal, then there was a golden outline around the crystal.

Izuku hesitantly grabbed the pin, the hesitance was mostly out of instinct rather than mistrust. Izuku slowly started to leave the room when he realized something. "Um, how do I leave this place?" He asked nervously. Avi giggled before lighting up the floor in the direction of the exit. Izuku ever so slightly smiled to himself as he followed the path out to make his way home, forgetting to ask if he should have left the Demo Morpher there.

Aaaaaaannnnd done. OMG it has been so long and I am so sorry for that, I kept getting overwhelmed while writing this so it was kind of difficult to write. I was also having a lot of personal problems, and a hard time thinking of a good design for the Ranger suit. I hope you all enjoyed this, what I think to be, short chapter and I will see you all next time.
