Vale?, night
In the middle of the ruined city, Dominic sits while clutching his hair. 'No. No. No. No. No. No.' he repeated in his mind as his left eye glowed a dim red.
Surrounding him were bodies, burned beyond recognition. But he knew who they were. How could he forget? He was the one who killed them.
"Ruby, Yang, Mom, Dad, Gregory, Connor, Ivy. I'm so sorry." he said, even though he was the only one present. "Why did I do this? Why did I do this? WHY DID I DO THIS!?" he screamed as his Aura flared outward, scorching anything around him. But as his Magic incinerated his surroundings, one thing seemed immune.
While Dominic was having a mental breakdown, a humanoid shape approached him from the cloud of ashes. That was it's only defining feature, as it's entire body was pitch-black, save for it's piercing red eyes. "The answer is simple." it told Dominic, gaining the pyromancer's attention. "It's because you always destroy what's close to you. Ironic that someone training to be a hero is the single most treacherous thing on the planet." the being said with a taunting grin.
"Shut up." Dominic said quietly, still crouching close to the bodies of his friends and family.
"What was that, oh great Mountain King?" the being taunted further, provoking the blonde.
"I said..." Dominic began as he stood up, activating his Magic. "SHUT UP!" As he screamed, a wave of intense heat washed over the city, incinerating anything that could've found life since the Fall. But miraculously, the strange being survived.
"Just what I wanted. Show me why you were feared as the Crimson Calamity!" After this was said, Dominic summoned four massive fireballs that flew at what will now be dubbed as [?]. Unexpectedly, it rushed toward the attacks, disregarding them as a threat. Once the flames got close enough, Dominic learned why.
Whatever it was, [?] was durable enough to withstand the heat from Dominic's Magic. 'Looks like I need to turn this up a few notches.' he thought as [?] ran toward him with a bladed appendage. Summoning his weapon, Dominic used it to defend. "NOW HERE'S A SHOCK FOR YA!" Dominic yelled as lightning struck both him and [?], dealing little to no damage to either. "Seriously?" Dominic blanched.
"As usual, you never think things through. Just like with Summer." [?] said, referring to Dominic's missing eye. "You of all people should know what happens when you mess with the laws of Life and Death. Maybe if you left well enough alone, you'd still have your right eye."
"SHUTUPSHUTUPSHUTUP!" Dominic screamed as he lifted a building with terrakinesis and slammed it into [?] out of blind rage. Afterwards, he was breathing heavily and literally running on fumes. "If you know what's good for you, you'll stay down." Dominic said as he left the wreck.
Suddenly, the rubble exploded in purple light, showing [?] surrounded in a menacing aura. "Always resorting to violence, as usual." [?] said as it raised it's arm, causing a beam of energy to be shot at Dominic's face, tearing off the entire right side of his head. On the ground, one would be able to see the remains of Dominic's prosthetic eyeball. "Ah, now everyone can see what you truly are." [?] said as Dominic was trying to stop the magma from escaping his wound. "A shell of a man who can't even save himself. How do you think Yang would react if she ever found out about your true nature? Would she still think of you as her brother, or would she just abandon you like everyone else?"
Dominic was writhing in pain, unable to use Magic to heal what that THING had done to him. "I can still (magma spurts from his mouth) tear you apart." he said as he tried to summon a fireball to lob at [?]. Unfortunately, he had no more energy left to do anything other than squirm in agony.
"Is that so?" [?] said with a smirk as black chains were slithering up to Dominic's limbs. Without any resistance whatsoever from Dominic, his body was bound in chains that burned against his flesh. "Didn't you say you'd tear me apart?" With that, the chains began to constrict and stretch Dominic's arms and legs until tears could be seen in his flesh and his Soul. Eventually, the chains managed to rip him to shreds, leaving the Huntsman in Training a pile of rocks and embers on the ground.
XICR Dorm, night
"AGH!" Dominic screamed with his eye glowing. Looking around, he found himself in his dorm room, completely unharmed. At least, physically unharmed. "Thank God that was just a nightmare." Dominic said, going back to sleep, not seeing the human shape in the room with him.
"Sleep tight." [?] said as the screen turned to static.
