Dr Lipsky and Dr Possible stood staring at the massive orb, "You really think that whatever touches that light is transported somewhere?" Dr Possible asked his blue colleague.

"It is possible but, all the experiments we've tried have resulted in zero data. I am ashamed to admit it, but I am at a loss, this orb… Shouldn't exist."

"But it does," Kim pointed out, chuckling as Shego groaned from beside her.

"So… What can we do?" Shego asked, "Is this all over?" Although she couldn't explain why, Shego hoped that that wasn't what was about to happen.

"Not over," Dr Possible stated, "Just scaled back."

"What does that mean?" Shego asked, annoyed at the open-ended answer.

"I'll fill you in on the details once they've all been ironed out, but for now it's just business as usual," Dr Possible explained before heading out of the room.

The other three followed after the man, "Can you at least tell us if we're out of the job?" Shego asked, not wanting to return to her old life so soon.

Dr Possible turned around with a raised brow, "Why would you be?" He asked as if it were obvious.

"Well, it's getting scaled back?"

Dr Possible laughed, "Yes, scaled back, meaning I'll be focussing my efforts elsewhere, but if we got rid of the two of you, we would need to find others to take over anyway."

"And how could I step away from such a mystery," Dr Lipsky added.

Shego smiled after the explanation, an action that didn't go unnoticed by the silent redhead standing in the background. Kim waited patiently while her father conversed with Dr Lipsky and Shego about things she didn't understand nor care about, save for the fact that they would be staying.

Once they finished their conversation it was time to head home for the day so Kim followed behind Shego, silently but subtly enjoying the view before her. Shego felt a little unnerved by the younger girls silence and she just knew that something was coming and, as they left the Space Centre, it came.

Kim grinned as she skipped ahead of the older woman who, despite her unease around the teen, had been frustratingly unable to wipe the smile off of her face, "Did you need something?" Shego asked.

Kim shook her head, "I'm just happy," Kim explained, "I'm not the only one~"

Kim spoke in a clearly teasing tone yet Shego didn't seem to care as a rare urge came ever her, the older woman sighed as she allowed herself to relax just a little, "I am happy to stay here," Shego's voice wavered as feelings that she had been repressing bubbled in the back of her mind. Pushing them away, she smiled at the teen that had become her constant companion, "Despite having to deal with an annoying redhead, I am happy here."

Kim blushed a little, not expecting the older woman to speak so freely, "I am not annoying," Kim complained, although even she couldn't keep a straight face as she spoke.

Her companion just smiled with a soft shake of her head, "Sure, sure, but it would be nice if I could spend some time alone, you know. I mean no offence Kim, but I haven't been alone in weeks and that just isn't like me."

Kim couldn't help but feel a little hurt by the statement, having thoroughly enjoyed the older woman's company, but she did, at the very least, understand where she was coming from. They reached Shego's convertible and the woman sighed as she climbed into the small car, "I mean, even this car is being tracked."

Realization dawned on the teen as she realized another side of what Shego was saying, "You feel like we don't trust you."

The older woman looked over at her teenaged passenger as she climbed into the car, regarding the teen with a raised eyebrow, "Are you saying you do? I mean you are literally here to keep me in line," Shego practically growled as she tore out of her parking spot a little too fast.

"Well," Kim sighed in defeat as she was unable to counter the woman's words, "That is true, but I trust you, no matter what my father and Dr Imon feel. And I'm sure part of the details to be ironed out will be you getting to live a bit more freely. There's no way they could think that you're still a danger to them or this secret, I'm sure of it."

Shego grumbled but calmed a little either way, slowing the car as she did so, "I hope your right, I just miss having a place to call my own, you know? My old apartment was like my haven, a place where I could be alone, and just relax as if no one else in the world even existed."

Kim hummed a little, she didn't understand Shego's feelings at all, the teen always wanted to be with her friends or family or the older woman herself. She kept the thought to herself, instead deciding to reach across the car to squeeze the older woman's knee.

Shego appreciated the comforting gesture but waved the girl away anyway as the teen's soft touch was a little too distracting. Her mind wandered as the car grew silent, she glanced over at Kim a few times as the teen looked out the window, watching as the outside world passed them by.

The pair arrived back at the Possible residence rather quickly and headed inside to find the house empty. Shego sighed as she had hoped that someone else would be at the house to occupy Kim's time, just for a little time to herself.

As if on cue, Kim's phone buzzed with a message, she glanced down at the phone in her hand and she smiled as she read the message asking if she wanted to grab a bite to eat with her friend Monique. Kim glanced at the older woman from behind her phone and watched as Shego flopped onto the couch with a distracted look on her face.

Kim knew that she shouldn't be leaving Shego, it was one thing when she was asked to save the world, but it was another thing altogether to just be grabbing a late lunch with friends, but still, the older woman's words echoed in her ears about having time alone.

"My friends invited me out for lunch," Kim started but was interrupted from continuing as Shego sighed tiredly.

"As much as I'd just love to hang out with a group of teenagers," Shego started, her voice oozing sarcasm, "I really don't feel up to it. Can we just hang around the house?"

Kim chuckled a little as she took a seat on the other side of the couch gazing at the older woman, "I was actually thinking of going by myself," The redhead explained.

Shego watched the younger girl, of course, the woman could see what Kim was doing, but all she felt was that it was a nice gesture and she quickly decided to play along with the girl.

"Oh," Shego said, trying to sound surprised, "Well… Thanks kid," The woman said with a grateful smile, even if it was just for a few hours and she knew that Kim was just trying to be nice, Shego was still happy to be left alone for a while.

Kim jumped off the couch, happy to do this favour for the older woman, as she skipped up to her room to get ready before leaving through the front door.

"See you in a few hours," Kim called behind her as she closed the front door, not bothering to wait for a response from the older woman, leaving Shego truly alone for the first time in weeks.

An uncomfortable silence settled over the room as Shego sat on the couch staring after the front door where Kim had disappeared. "Bye," Shego almost whispered as she wasted precious minutes just staring after where her companion had disappeared.

"What am I doing?" Shego asked herself as she stood from the couch. It was the first time she was actually alone and she was wasting it on the couch. The woman quickly headed up the stairs to the small bathroom she shared with Kim and, occasionally, one of the other family members should the other bathroom in the house be occupied when needed.

Shego smiled as she plugged the bath's drain and began to fill the tub with hot water, she glanced at a bottle of bubble bath sitting on the vanity, and, with a shrug of her shoulders, she poured in some of the liquid. A small smile cracked her lips as she watched tiny little bubbles begin to form in the water, her smile quickly faltered as she thought about how childish she was being. With a sigh, Shego stopped the water as it had finally filled the bath, before dropping her clothes to the floor and settling into the almost scalding hot water.

Shego closed her eyes and allowed herself to relax, the house was silent for what seemed to be the first time since she had moved in with the Possibles. She liked the family, but always being around people was tiring, the woman felt like she was unable to completely relax with so many other people around.

Shego furrowed her brow, "Except when I sleep…" She mused to herself.

Her biggest issue with moving to this house was that she wouldn't have been able to drink to pass out, especially on the nights that were accompanied by nightmares. But over the last few weeks, she had stayed asleep every night, "Shit," Shego groaned as she realized that the teen must have been joining her at night just to comfort her.

Although it was definitely nice to have been able to sleep through the night, every night, for a few weeks, Shego still couldn't stop the embarrassment at having been comforted by Kim, even if she was asleep at the time. Shego closed her eyes as she allowed her mind to wander to the teen that had occupied the space next to her, and her thoughts, for weeks. The woman remembered the feel of the teen's warm body pressed against her as she slowly woke from her slumber, and how the girl's breath felt against Shego's face as she slept peacefully next to the older woman.

Shego couldn't help but smile at the memory as a rare but not unwelcome heat began to spread through her nether region. Shego slowly and tentatively began to slip her hands over her toned figure as she pictured Kim in the short loose shorts and sports bra that she wore to bed every night. A vision that she had seen many times over the last few weeks and that had burned its way into her mind.

Shego gasped as she grazed her clitoris softly with her left hand before she pinched one of her nipples with her right, releasing a loud groan into the echoey room. Before anything could escalate further, however, two loud voices started arguing and Shego realized the twins must have been home, and probably one of the parents. With a frustrated grunt, Shego stood up from the now sudsless bath and frowned as she looked down at the water, wondering how long she had just been soaking for.

Shego looked at her hands, noticing just how prune-like her fingers had become, "I must have dozed off," Shego said to herself as she started to shiver. She unplugged the drain and quickly wrapped a towel around her bare body, trying to stave off the chill that had come over her. Her body continued buzzing from what had almost happened in the tub and she wished that she'd had more time to herself, or hadn't wasted so much of her time alone. She quickly walked into her shared room with her dirty clothes hanging over an arm, throwing the dirtied garments into a nearby hamper, she set about changing into a fresh pair of undergarments, black sweat pants, and a comfortable white tank top.

Just as she finished changing a soft knock signalled the arrival of the redheaded teen she had just been about to fantasize about. Shego turned around, biting the inside of her cheek as she still felt the lingering heat from her recent arousal.

"How long were you gone?" The woman asked, still curious about how long she was sitting in the bathtub doing absolutely nothing.

"Miss me did you?" Kim asked, smirking as she winked at the older woman.

Shego eyed the younger girl, "Just wondering how long I was in the bath for," She said with a shrug of her shoulders before heading for the door.

Kim stopped Shego from leaving by placing her hand on the older woman's shoulder, Shego almost jumped as Kim's hand slipped slightly down onto her chest. Kim didn't seem to notice, however, as she applied a little more pressure to guide Shego back a little.

Shego complied with the unspoken request and looked into the teen's eyes questioningly, "What is it, Kim?" Shego asked as the teen was yet to start speaking.

Kim sighed as her heart began to race, she really didn't know what she was going to say, just that she wanted to say something but was embarrassed as she had heard through the bathroom door what Shego had started, Kim had taken off with a red face to give the woman a little privacy. But tripped over another of her brothers' strategically placed toys and, as she soon realized, ended up interrupting what the woman was trying to achieve by yelling at her brothers once again.

"I spoke with dad before you got out of the bath," Kim started, "He said Dr Imon had accepted his recommendation that you be allowed to find your own place and that I don't need to watch you anymore."

Shego smiled happily, so overcome with emotion that she lunged at the teen and wrapped the girl in a tight, uncharacteristic hug, lifting the girl off the floor. Kim laughed as Shego released her, a broad smile still gracing her features, even as her face changed to a darker shade of green as she blushed, only realizing what she had done after the fact.

"Bit hard not to take that ecstatic reaction personally," Kim said with a grin, hiding the fact that she was a little upset that the woman wouldn't be around anymore and that she had reacted so happily to the news. Kim understood somewhat that Shego needed her own space but that didn't mean she had to like the way the woman thought.

The black-haired woman smiled at the younger girl, "Come on Kim, you know it's not like that," she cooed, playing along with what she thought was teasing.

Kim shrugged as she turned around, "I'll live," Kim couldn't keep the air of pain out of her voice and the pair quickly descended into an uncomfortable silence.

"What was that arguing about?" Shego broke the silence, changing the subject as Kim's tone promised heavy emotions, and that was something the older woman just didn't do.

Kim huffed in annoyance, the change in conversation effectively changing the mood, "The twerps, as usual."

Shego chuckled, "You really should start taking a little revenge on them," She suggested, "And I don't mean chasing them around and yelling at them."

Kim raised an inquisitive brow, "What are you suggesting?"

Shego shook her head a little, "We don't need to think something up, we have your brothers for that, just get back at them with something that they have done to you in the past. No need to get creative."

"Seems a bit lazy to me," Kim grumbled, her demeanor lightening as Shego used the word 'we.'

"It's not about being lazy," Shego commented, "It's about using previously gained knowledge to efficiently torture the twins as they have done with you. The number of pranks that we can pull using their knowledge against them is greater than if we came up with them ourselves."

There it was again, 'we,' Kim couldn't keep the grin from her lips, "You going to help?" The teen asked, "You do keep saying 'we' after all."

Shego grinned devilishly, "You bet I'm going to help get those little punks." Kim lowered her head in a nod, the smile plastered on her face never falling as the pair sneakily set up a trap for the twins.

The trap was simple, the twins had run off to their shared room after having hit Kim with their own dastardly plans, so Shego set down a thin piece of plastic onto the carpet in front of the boys' door. The plastic was slick with a little water and a thin layer of dish soap, it wasn't much, but it was just meant to startle the twins, to show them that Kim wasn't going to play by their usual rules anymore.

It was almost time for dinner, and the two knew that, as soon as Ann or James called everyone to dinner, then the two boys would sprint from the room with reckless abandon and take a nice, quick tumble a short distance down the hallway. Kim and Shego walked to the lounge room, Kim sat on the couch while Shego continued towards the kitchen, she noticed James sitting at the dining table while Ann put the finishing touches on dinner.

James looked up at the woman as she joined them in the room, "I take it Kim told you about Dr Imon's decision?"

Shego nodded with a smile, "She did, and thank you for that, I have enjoyed staying here, it's been nice, but I can't wait to have some time to myself."

"I'll bet" Ann spoke as she started to dish out bowls of what smelled to be a deliciously made Spaghetti Bolognese. "It can't have been easy going from living on your own to living with two young boys, an annoying teenager, and their parents."

"Not to mention that you had to be with Kim for basically every waking moment over the last few weeks," James added

Shego waved the comment off, "No, no, you guys are awesome and Kim's been great, I could've stayed here for a lot longer if needed, I won't miss having to share a room, though."

Ann smiled warmly before yelling at the top of her lungs that dinner was ready, Kim rushed into the kitchen, a conspiratorial look on her face as she winked at Shego. Her parents knew the look and, moments later, the sound of two young boys squealing sounded from the other end of the house, followed by a couple of thuds as the boys fell to the floor.

Kim couldn't help herself as she burst out laughing, Shego grinned while the Drs Possible both just shook their heads, watching their daughter with an endearing look set in their features. The boys soon joined the rest of the family in the kitchen, although they moved much more carefully than normal, they each wore a look of frustration as they eyed their sister warily.

Kim grinned back at them before winking in Shego's direction once again, "Let's eat," Ann said quickly before things started to escalate between the two teams. They all sat down happily to a fine meal, although for Kim, the meal held an unspoken air of sadness as she knew that shortly, Shego would be leaving her side.

The teen didn't need to wonder why, she was attracted to the older woman, sure, but she had realized on one of the many nights that she spent holding the older woman, helping her to relax after one of her many nightmares, that what she felt was more than simple attraction, she had feelings for the older woman. Kim looked up from her food and watched as Shego conversed happily with her mother, only looking back down again as the green woman turned her attention on the teen. Kim ignored the heat that rose in her cheeks at having been caught staring as she wolfed down the remainder of her food, excusing herself from dinner early.

Unbeknownst to the teen, her mother had also caught the interaction and watched her daughter leave with a knowing look before turning back to the table. Now by herself, Kim slipped into her bed, closed her eyes, and waited solemnly for Shego to get herself to bed, knowing that she would once again be called upon later that night to calm the woman.
