The next few weeks passed in a wild blur and, before she knew it, Shego found herself sitting on her black, leather, two-seater sofa, staring at the television she had purchased as it played one of the many crappy television shows that aired during the early Saturday afternoon. She had been in her own apartment for a few days, opting to stay with the Possible's while she furnished her apartment, not wanting to walk through the empty rooms or sit around doing absolutely nothing.
The apartment was smaller than her previous one with a small loungeroom that she had furnished with her lounge, a small wooden coffee table, a moderate television sat on an otherwise empty television cabinet. The kitchen was separated from the lounge room by a waist-high bench with a couple of stools pushed against it so it could double as a 'table' saving much-needed room as Shego had a hard time believing she could've gotten a table into what little space remained. The kitchen was small, complete with only the necessary appliances, a fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, stove, sink, cupboards, and a relatively small pantry.
Connected to the kitchen was the woman's small bedroom, complete with a double bed, two bedside tables, one housing an alarm clock, a dresser, and an in-built wardrobe. Her bathroom came off of her bedroom, a small shower, vanity, and toilet filled the tiny room almost to capacity. Another small room lay beside her bathroom, also connected to her bedroom and the main reason she had chosen the apartment in the first place. Inside the room were a bench, a tall cupboard, and a washer and dryer so she didn't have to clean her clothes outside of the comfort of her own home, preferring to not get to know her neighbors.
Back in her lounge room, a door on the left was the entrance to her apartment while a glass sliding door on the right led out to a small balcony with a black railing. She had bought a small, circular glass table and two deck-chairs to sit on either side, a few empty plant pots were scattered along the balcony with a couple bags of soil. Every wall in the apartment was the same cream color as the hallway that led to her apartment and the entrance to the building. Sitting in the entrance was a small desk with a receptionist, the person behind the desk worked alternating weekdays with weekends off so someone was only there three days a week.
Shego looked down at the empty spot beside her, a sad feeling wafting over her as Kim's missing presence was getting to the woman more than she had thought it would. She then looked behind her to the two stools at the bench and out at the two chairs on the balcony, overlooking the small town, and sighed.
"What's wrong with me?" Shego asked herself, she had always been better off alone, never feeling lonely but now.
Her phone chimed and a smile spread across her lips as she read Kim's short message, after what had almost transpired in the bathtub when she had some time alone, she had started to really notice the feelings she felt towards the young girl. *Hey Shego, whatcha doin?*
*Nothing really,*Shego replied, feeling happier than she would have ever expected getting a message. *Just sitting in my new apartment doing nothing,* She added after a beat.
*Well, then you should come down to the lobby and let me up,* Kim replied and Shego had to stifle a little squeal, she hadn't seen the redhead in days and, with the girl showing up out of the blue, she found it hard to contain herself.
"Stop it," Shego scolded herself, "She's too young for that," And while Shego knew this, there was something about the girl that just seemed to draw Shego to her. *I'm coming down now,* Shego typed out as she left her apartment.
It only took a few moments for Shego to reach the lobby doors, brandishing a key, she quickly opened the door, smiling as Kim immediately threw her arms around the woman's shoulders. Shego tentatively returned the embrace, wrapping her arms lightly around the teen's waist for a few moments before pushing the girl away with a smirk.
"Miss me that much, did you?" Shego asked.
Kim grinned, "Not having you around has been quite lonely," Her tone was teasing.
Shego chuckled despite her agreement with the statement and feeling irked by the way the girl responded, "You did fine without me for almost sixteen years, I'm sure you'll adjust," Shego teased back.
Kim shook her head, "I'll be annoying you for years to come," Shego hid the smile that she felt rushing to her lips but was unable to fight the slight tinting of her cheeks.
Rolling her eyes, Shego turned, leading Kim towards the elevator, "Great," Shego groaned, allowing herself to grin like an idiot now that her face was no longer visible to the teen.
"This place is almost as dull as dad's work," Kim mentioned as they walked down the hallway to Shego's apartment.
"It is," Shego agreed, "But it's cheap and good enough as a place to live."
Kim nodded as they made it to Shego's front door, "I guess so, but the place could really use a little color."
Shego nodded in agreement, "It really could, but," Shego shrugged her shoulders, "What can you do?"
They walked into the apartment and Kim took account of all the furniture she could see, surprised to find multiple chairs at the bench and on the balcony, but she said nothing about it, choosing to believe that they had been bought for her but not wanting to be let down. She followed Shego to the couch and took a seat, glancing at the screen, she frowned at the show that was playing.
"You don't really like this do you?" Kim asked, ready to tease the older woman.
Shego shook her head, "Nah, there's just nothing on at this time of day and it's better than doing nothing."
"I'm not so sure about that," Kim said as she glanced around the room, her eyes lingering on an empty bottle of some kind of alcohol, her brows furrowing as she had not once seen the older woman drink.
Shego, cleared her throat as she stood up and removed the bottle, disposing of it in the recycling bin in her kitchen, "Excuse the mess."
Kim decided to not question the woman and, instead, turned to watch her as Shego opened the fridge door, "Do you want a sandwich?" The woman called, her head buried in the fridge as she collected a plastic bag of shaved ham, a half-used tomato and carrot, and a small bag of mixed lettuce and spinach.
Kim left the couch and approached the lounge room side of the bench, watching as Shego reached into her pantry, pulling out half a loaf of bread and a small glass container with a yellow block of butter sitting in the middle of it.
"Sure," Kim said with a shrug, "Sounds great."
Shego nodded and set about preparing lunch for the both of them, "So, what brings you here today?"
Kim shrugged, "Do I need a reason?"
Shego looked at the girl inquisitively, "There is always a reason, whatever it may be," Shego responded.
"Well… I don't have one," Kim replied, scared of how Shego would react if she admitted that she actually did miss the woman.
Shego eyed the teen curiously for a few moments before returning to her task with a shrug, "That's fine…" Shego hesitated for a long time, debating whether she should say what she was feeling. With a sigh, the woman passed the redhead her lunch, having decided it would be best to not say anything, the girl was a teenager, she couldn't admit her feelings to anyone. The thought saddened her, but she knew it was for the best, for her and everyone involved.
Kim and Shego spent the rest of the day together, discussing Shego's new apartment, what the Tweebs had been up to and how Kim had started to get back at them more, and how school had been going for Kim now that she was no longer needed to keep an eye on Shego. The talk of school helped to remind Shego that she should bury her feelings for the girl as it continued to remind her that she was, indeed, underage.
"Have you seen the sun setting over the town before?" Shego asked as she glanced out her large glass door, watching the sun as it approached the horizon.
Kim shook her head slowly, it was true, she hadn't but she had seen many more beautiful sights around the world, she couldn't stop to enjoy them as she was on a mission when she did, but she had at least seen them. Shego smiled at the girl and stood up, nodding her head in the direction of her balcony in invitation. Kim followed wordlessly out to the balcony, sitting down into the green deck chair that Shego had left vacant and looked around at the empty balcony. A cool breeze blew over them, surrounding and cooling them as they sat in the warm evening light.
"You going to do some planting?" Kim asked, noticing the empty planting pots, bags of soil, and potting mix.
"I was thinking about it," Shego nodded, "I'm just unsure as to what plants would be good… Which ones would look the best but also thrive out here, only receiving the afternoon sun."
"Hmm, well I wouldn't know the first thing about plants so, I can't help you there," Kim said, looking out over the town, squinting a little as the late afternoon sun slowly sunk over the horizon. The sight was amazing, although the girl didn't think it had much to do with scenery but had more to do with the company. Still, she silently enjoyed the sinking sun, furtively glancing over at Shego, their days apart from one another had made Kim realize that what she felt for Shego was more than just friendship. She wasn't sure when or how it had happened, but it had, and now that she knew, she wanted nothing more than to be with the woman
Kim stood abruptly, "I need to use the restroom…" She said slowly and headed towards Shego's room, the woman had explained the layout of her apartment during the day, but She failed to give Kim a tour.
Shego quickly followed after the girl, "Wait, wait, wait," She said grabbing the redhead's hand and spinning the girl to face her.
"What is it?" Kim asked, blushing slightly as her realization of her feelings had been accompanied by a greater sense of consciousness of the older woman.
Shego recoiled a little, releasing the teen's hand as Kim's softer than usual tone and light pink tint that graced the teen's cheeks set her mind racing at the implication of Kim's reaction, "Just hold on a minute… My bedroom isn't exactly clean."
Kim giggled, "That doesn't bother me," She said turning back to the closed door down the hall.
Before Kim could continue forward, Shego placed her hand on the teen's shoulder and spun her around once again, "I never said it would…" Shego said a little shyly and Kim couldn't help but think of the reaction as cute, "I don't want you to see it."
Kim giggled softly, "You hiding some toys from me, are you?" Kim teased.
Shego, shocked by the boldness of the girl's words, began to blush profusely, "No, no. It's not that at all!"
Kim laughed even harder, "I was just teasing… But given your reaction," Kim spoke with a knowing smile, shrugging her shoulders as she finished.
Shego gulped before dashing into her room, she hadn't been lying about there being toys left out, but having the teen think that, rather than seeing half-drunk bottles of alcohol on her bedside table, was preferable, if not embarrassing. Moments later, Shego emerged from her room, Kim grinned as she entered, scanning the room curiously.
"All cleaned up then?" She asked with a wink.
Shego nodded, quickly leaving the teen, and walking back out to the balcony to try and cool her heated face, "Maybe I made the wrong choice," Shego spoke quietly to herself as her face slowly reverted to its natural, green-tinged hue. She shook her head, with the way Kim had looked at the empty bottle on the coffee table, Shego was sure that seeing those other bottles would have worried the teen. But she felt that she didn't have a choice, without Kim around, there was no one there to keep her mind off of… Unnecessary things.
She felt tears prick at the back of her eyes as those unnecessary things began to surface, her mother's face most of all, and how she had cried and cried at the foot of her brother's hospital bed. Shego quickly shook her head, trying to force the thoughts out of her mind but to no avail. Shego stood and ran to her bedroom as the tears started to fall, grabbing one of the bottles she had stashed, she started to chug from the bottle.
The door to her bathroom opened, Kim stood, wide-eyed as she watched Shego desperately chugging from the glass bottle in her hand. As she noticed the teen watching her, Shego's grip loosened around the bottle until it dropped from her lips, the small amount of liquid still in the bottle spilling onto the carpet.
"So it wasn't toys," Kim spoke slowly, still shocked by the older woman.
"Kim…" Shego trailed off, hiding her face in her hands.
Kim, having recovered from her shock, raced over to the woman, enveloping her in a hug as she shook, her unshed tears beginning to fall in earnest as she began to bawl her eyes out. Kim shuddered, afraid for the older woman as she did her best to comfort her. Shego's tears didn't stop for almost an hour as it was the first time in a long time that she had let herself cry and, without Kim, it would have taken far longer. The two had ended up on the bed, Kim sat up against the headboard with her legs crossed, she cradled Shego's head as the woman had blubbered into the girl's lap.
Shego rose from her position between Kim's legs, a sheepish look on her face as she rubbed her eyes, "I'm so sorry about that, Kim."
Kim frowned, shaking her head at the older woman, "You have nothing to be sorry for," Kim said firmly, reaching forwards with a shaky hand and cupping Shego's cheek.
Shego nuzzled the offered hand, seeking the comfort that it offered, "I suppose you want me to explain," She spoke sadly.
Kim looked thoughtful as she gazed at the vulnerable older woman nuzzling her offered hand, "I do, but only if you are ready to talk about it."
Shego moved so she too could lean against the headboard, missing the comfort of Kim's warmth, until the girl wrapped a protective arm around her shoulders, pulling her close and stroking her flowing black hair comfortingly. Shego smiled as she relaxed under the younger girl's ministrations.
"Maybe not quite yet," Shego spoke quietly, "Shouldn't you be getting back home?"
"No," Kim answered immediately, "I'm not leaving you," There was a promise in the tone of Kim's words that had Shego's heart pumping hard in her chest.
"I-I'm fine Kim," Shego sputtered, surprised by the effect the young girl was having on her, "You should go home, I'm sure your parents are worried about you.
Kim was silent as she grabbed her phone from her pocket and typed out a quick text, explaining to her parents that she was going to stay at Shego's for the night, "And now, they won't be."
Shego was quiet for a few long moments, "Thank you," She whispered before growing silent again, just enjoying the feeling of being with the teen, not worrying about anything else.
"You want some dinner?" Shego asked after a few long moments of silence.
"Are you sure you're up for cooking?" Kim asked worried that even bringing it up could cause the woman to break down again.
Shego chuckled, albeit a little sadly, "Don't worry, I think I'm all cried out for a few weeks at least. But I never said I was going to cook, I was thinking pizza."
Kim started to salivate at the mention of the greasy food, "Heck. Yes," Kim said emphatically, grinning as Shego started to extract herself from Kim's embrace, chuckling as she did so.
"What do you like?" Shego asked as she reached for her phone.
"Pepperoni," Was Kim's simple answer.
"Good choice," Shego nodded in agreement, "Garlic bread?"
Kim nodded her head vigorously, not having had the opportunity to have the simple side-dish for quite some time as her parents thought of it as an unnecessary extra. Kim had to admit that it was, but that didn't mean she didn't enjoy it.
The two left Shego's bedroom and stood leaning against the kitchen bench, watching the clock as they waited the ten or so minutes before leaving to retrieve their dinner. Kim gazed at Shego, watching as the woman nervously shuffled from one foot to the other, scratching her neck with a shaky hand while she smiled.
Unable to hold up under the teen's scrutiny any longer, Shego turned to the redhead, "What? Do I have something on my face?"
Kim shook her head, "Just admiring your beauty… And the cute way you act when your nervous," Kim answered, surprising herself with her boldness.
Shego paled slightly, before heat flushed her neck and cheeks, "Wh-What?" Was the woman's lame response.
Kim giggled cutely at Shego's reaction, moving a little closer to the woman, noticing this, Shego made a point of looking up at the clock, "We should go," She said, a little too quickly as she headed for the door. "We don't want our food sitting in the hotbox for too long," She walked out of the apartment, not looking to see if Kim was following after her.
Kim sighed sadly before following the older woman, having to walk brusquely to catch up to her, "Too right, there's nothing worse than stale pizza," Kim said with a slight grimace.
The pair left and returned with one small pizza, a loaf of garlic bread, and two cans of lemonade, which they had decided to add at the counter. They sat on the couch eating in silence as they watched an old comedy, laughing at the outdated jokes and having an altogether good time. Kim continued to glance at Shego throughout the movie, making sure she really was okay and, if she had to admit, appreciating the view more than a little bit.
Shego, noticing Kim's continued interest, was beginning to lose her mind, she'd had to control herself for hours now and, the memory of her head pushed right beside the young girl's sex, even if she was breaking down, made things that much harder to endure. As the movie ended Shego turned to Kim, worried that if things continued as they were, she would do something that she knew she shouldn't.
Her breath caught in her throat as she watched Kim, smiling back at her from the other side of the couch, her long red hair cascading down around her face and over her shoulders like a fiery waterfall. Shego couldn't help but rake her eyes over the teen's body, her usual green tank top had ridden up her torso, making it seem more like a tube top, and her usual blue baggy jeans had been swapped out for a pair of tight-fitting low riders. Kim had kicked off her shoes sometime during the movie and was now wearing a pair of white cotton socks with pink heels and toes.
"You're beautiful," Shego breathed, the thought unconsciously slipping from her mouth.
Kim took the words and the woman's evaluating stare as an invitation and leaned towards Shego, closing the distance rapidly, she pushed her pert pink lips against Shego's darker ones, causing the woman to yelp in surprise. Unconcerned by the noise, Kim slipped her hands around Shego's waist, allowing her full weight to press against the older woman who, by this point, had started to return the chaste kiss.
Kim's tongue ventured out of her mouth, licking over Shego's lips, requesting entrance, a request that seemed to be granted but, as Kim slowly moved her way into the woman's mouth, Shego came alive. The older woman pulled Kim as close as possible, thrusting her tongue into the redhead's mouth as she took control of the kiss, she ran her hands up and down the teen's back, her arms coming tantalizingly close to the rump she had caught herself starring at on more than one occasion. Kim responded as best she could, twisting and massaging her tongue around the older woman's allowing Shego to control the kiss, but refusing to be completely subservient to the older woman.
The kiss lasted a couple of minutes, but to both women, it was nowhere near long enough, still, Shego pulled away from the kiss reluctantly, panting, her eyes lidded as she gazed at Kim's flushed face.
"Is something wrong?" Kim asked, brushing her lips against the older woman for barely a second.
"Yes," Shego breathed, "You… You're fifteen," She said reluctantly.
Kim frowned, "I know," She relented, "But I want this… You want this… And that kiss just felt so right."
Shego nodded her head, "I completely agree with you, Kim, but we still can't…"
Kim shook her head at the older woman, "Yes, we can. I'm a teenage hero. If I'm trusted to save the world then I should be trusted to make the right decision regarding a relationship."
Shego chuckled, the girl was right, after all, if she was mature enough to save the world, how could she not be mature enough to fall in love. Shego closed her eyes, pulling Kim into a warm hug, breathing in the girl's wonderful scent.
"Fuck it," Shego growled, "You're right," Shego released the grinning girl and stared into her eyes, "Kim Possible, will you go out with me?"
Kim giggled at the formal way Shego posed the question, slapping the woman on the arm lightly, "Of course I will."
The women shared another heated kiss, hands wondering and tongues dancing until Shego pulled away once again, "We should probably stop now, though," The woman said through deep breaths, "I won't be able to control myself if we don't."
"Maybe I don't want you to," Kim teased cheekily, laughing at the aroused groan that came from the older woman, "Ok, ok. We'll take things a bit slower."
"Thank you…" Shego trailed off with a sigh, "Maybe we should head to bed. To sleep." Shego added quickly as Kim began to smirk.
Laughing, Kim leaned down and kissed Shego, pulling away before it could divulge into another lust-driven make-out session, "Let's do that," She said with a nod, the pair quickly climbing from the couch and falling into Shego's double bed together. Despite the room, the pair cuddled up to one another in the middle of the bed, holding onto each other as they drifted off to sleep.
