The last Chapter is short because its last chapter

The sky was bright, suns shining down on him and not a single cloud in sight as he departed from his ship. Granted, it was Tattooine, so he didn't expect much else in that regard.

Nonetheless, Din squinted a bit as his eyes readjusted to the twin suns of the desert planet.

He had a goal in mind, however, as he walked through the sands, trudging from his new ship (well, new in the sense that it wasn't the Crest. It was still a 'used' ship, but that was beside the point) to the looming building in front of him.

It didn't take very long for him to get to the doors of the building— Palace really— and even less time for him to push them open.

There was a general noisiness that reached his ears— from music to talking, to the clattering of credits and the clinking of glasses. But that too was to be expected— this had been the "mighty" Jabba the Hutt's palace once, after all.

Din didn't stop, though, making his way to the innermost chamber— the Throne Room, really— of the Palace.

The noise got louder the closer he got, though it barely bothered him as he went. Sentients moved out of his way as he entered the Throne Room though, some nodding to him, others stumbling in a rather drunken manner.

A familiar form in green was sitting atop the throne, lounging and leaning on one arm while another leaned over the back, drinking from a jug of spotchka.

They were both watching a match between an Iridonian Zabrak and a Togruta, the two simply locked in a fistfight. There were other familiar faces as well— a number of identical-looking men at one table, a nautolan and a Kel Dor leaning against the closest bar, a human mechanic, but most importantly there was a little green creature settled in the arms of a heavily scarred Shistavanen.

As soon as Din made his way through the crowd, though, the creature's ears perked.

"Looks like he's glad you're here, Mando," one of the identical humans chuckled and Din just inclined his head.

Din chuckled a bit at the man's— the Clone's— comment. He didn't know this one's name, though he donned prosthetics and a head brace. Din had seen him a few times before, and he was glad to see that each time Din came back, this clone was returning to a healthy tan.

There were others, some older, some the same age as Wolffe and the others. A number had white hair and beards, others were clean-shaven.

But Din didn't know all their names— it had only been a few months since they had started to gather.

Nonetheless, he made his way through the crowd to where Grogu was sitting with the Shistavanen.

"Mando," the Shistavanen greeted and Din nodded back to him.

"Monn. Did the kid behave?"

Voolvif Monn flicked one of his ears, tilting his head a bit. "For the most part. He bit Tano."

That must be Ahsoka Tano, the Togruta that Bo-Katan had talked to him about. The one Plo had been in contact with.

He had yet to meet her, still, so he supposed that now was a good time if ever.

Well, after her match, of course.

"Any word from the New Republic out there? You got friends associated with 'em, right?" another Clone asked, stroking his beard. Din inclined his head as he saw Wolffe glance over to them.

"Nothing big, just that it's a mess." "I'll say," came a grunt from another but that was the end of the conversation.

Voolvif held Grogu up to him and he took the not-quite Jedi Padawan in his arms, Grogu cooing contently as he did. Cheers rose up from the crowd as the Zabrak that Din knew as the former Jedi Agen Kolar threw back Ahsoka Tano.

Boba simply inclined his head as his eyes met Din's, Fennec raising her drink to him. He simply nodded in return to the other Mandalorian and Sniper before he sat, Grogu in his lap.

It was nice, to have a place to come back to that was very much 'home', Din realized as he saw Plo Koon and Kit Fisto tap glasses of their choice drink together as Tano locked arms with Kolar again.

The Razor Crest might be gone, but still, he had a home now— it was just a bit different.

But it was home.

Thanks to everyone who stuck with this fic, I really appreciate it.

Just a heads up, I am no longer going to be on FFN or Wattpad now that this fic is done and will solely be on AO3 and Tumblr for fics. It's easier that way and I don't have to go through multiple uploading formats.

Other news, I don't plan on publishing anything new on AO3 any time soon, I have thoughts but most are jumbled up. I also don't feel like doing a deep dive into fate research atm but we shall see. I have a long fic planned, but not finished so I can't start publishing until I'm done with it, so I can have a schedule (as seen with this fic where I had no schedule things just stopped happening).

Anyways, thank you again.
