Hey everybody, I'm back with a new chapter. I'ma be honest, this was a really hard chapter to write(Coming up with the dialogue was a challenge) but I managed to finish it. Now, for those wondering about Asta's sensing powers, all I can say is read the story to find out. With that being said, hope you enjoy.

THE BLIND SWORDSMAN

CHAPTER 2

Yuno was walking around the church, looking for someone.

"Asta, where are you?"

With Asta, he was sitting on a big rock in the middle of the forest. Asta was relaxing, using his senses to observe the area around him. He was petting a bird that was on his knee, while sensing the other birds on the trees and occasionally a animal running by him.

It has been a few months since Asta had gained his new sensing powers. Asta usually go to the forest to relax or see what else his senses can do. So far, he had no luck in finding out what else he can do.

But for now, he knows what he can do.

One was that he can see and sense mana in people, animals and only sense the mana in the environment. When asked to describe what he sees now, he describe it as the energy making an outline of a person with energy still flowing from them. Another thing was that from people's mana, he can tell how strong someone is. But what makes his unique is that he can tell more than just their strength, such as their emotions which is someone Orsi said was a rarity since he doesn't know anyone else that can do that.

His sensing has gotten better to the point when he can remember people just by their mana and can tell what type of person someone is just by the flow of their mana. However, he still has trouble moving around as the environment's mana didn't help with his navigation. In fact, during his walk in the forest, he tripped a couple of times. It's also why Yuno, Father Orsi and the others tells him not to wander off on his own... numerous times.

As Asta was relaxing, he then felt 4 strong auras walking towards him. He then closed his eyes to get a better image. He sensed 3 men and one woman.

"Hey Kid," The woman said, getting Asta's attention. "You okay?"

"No, I'm not lost. This is where I go to relax." Asta then turn to the 4 auras. "Hi, my name is Asta."

"Hello Asta, My name is Mereoleona Vermillion and this is my brother Fuegoleon." Fuegoleon waved at Asta. "This is Nozel Silva and that is Yami Sukehiro."

Nozel: "Hello There."

Yami: "Yo."

They all then notice that Asta has a scar on his face.

"Hi kid. How did you got that scar?" Yami bluntly asked.

"Be considerate, Yami." Fuegoleon scolded him.

"I had it since I was born." Asta answered. "Are you guys royalty?"

"Yes, well three of us are. Can you tell from our attire?" Nozel asked him.

"Actually, I can't."

"Why?" Yami asked.

"I was born blind." Asta answered the 4 people.

Fuegoleon: "Wait, you're blind?!"

Mereoleona: "Are you lost? Do you need help?"

Nozel: "Why are you out here alone?"

Yami was confused about Asta's statement. "Wait, if you're blind, how do you get here?" The questions made the royals look at Asta in confusion.

"Well, I always go here to relax but walking here is the hard part."

"Ok, another question. How did you guess that they were royals?"

"I can see and sense mana. I sensed yours before y'all got close and you 4 have a lot."

"Wait, I think you only mean sense. People can only sense mana." Fuegoleon stated.

"Nope, I can see mana. In fact, I seeing yours right now." Asta told them.

"Really? What do you see?" Nozel asked.

"Well, it's like seeing a person's body covered by energy."

"So I'm assume you're sensing right now?" Fuegoleon asked.

"Yeah. Right now, I can sense the mana coming from you 4, the bird on my knee, on the birds in the tree and the other animals. I even sense the 2 animals that's about to run right pass us." Asta stated as right on que, two small animals ran pass between them.

Fuegoleon: "Incredible..."

Nozel: "To have such sensory capabilities at such a young age."

Yami then laughed out loud. "You really are something else, are you kid?"

"I guess you can say that."

"ASTA!"

"That's Yuno. He must be looking for me." Asta then stood up slowly to make sure he doesn't lose balance. "Well, it's time for me to go. It was nice seeing you."

"Are you sure you can walk back?" Fuegoleon asked.

"Well, I know where to go. But its the walking part that's always the- Woah!" Asta started to fall forward but he saw Mereoleona's mana swiftly appeared right next to him, catching him.

'She's fast.' Asta thought.

Fuegoleon walked up to him. "Do you want some help?"

"Yes please." Asta answered as they guided him to where the sound came from.

Nozel: "If you can sense well, can you just use the mana from the environment to navigate?"

Asta: "I tried to, but it doesn't work."

Yami: "Is there anything else you can do?"

Asta: "Well, I can remember people just by their mana. And I can read people."

Fuegoleon: "What do you mean by that?"

Asta: "I can tell a person's emotion and what type of person someone is by their mana."

Mereoleona: "Really? I'm curious, what do you read from us?"

Asta: "Well, your mana have this confidence and fiery flow to it, your brother have a serious flow to his, with the other one more serious than his, and Yami's has this sort of relaxed but rough flow to his."

Mereoleona: "Huh, as expected for the undefeated lioness."

Fuegoleon: "Self-proclaimed."

Mereoleona: "Shut it."

"Wow. That is impressive. And you're not off." Yami stated as he looked at Fuegoleon and Nozel.

Fuegoleon: "There's nothing work with taking your knight duties serious, Yami."

"Wait, you guys are knights?!" Asta asked with excitement.

"Yep, well three of us. The fire lady is taking us on a hike for exercise." Yami answered.

"Oh, we're here." Asta said.

They walked out the forest and into the Hage village. Who they saw was Yuno and Orsi, looking for Asta before turning to him.

"Oh, there you are." Father Orsi said before noticing the 4 people Asta was with. Orsi then noticed the attire on the 3 royals. "OH, You're royalty. It is my honor."

"Was Asta causing you trouble?" Yuno asked the 4 mages.

"HEY, I don't cause trouble!"

"Yes you do." Yuno bluntly said.

"No, he wasn't any trouble." Mereoleona stated, which made Orsi made a sigh of relief. Yuno and Asta then sat in front of the church while Orsi stayed with the mages.

Fuegoleon: "So that's Yuno. Are they related?"

Orsi: "No, their foster brothers. I found them outside the church when they was infants."

Yami: "So that kid was really born with that mark."

Orsi: "Yes he was."

Nozel: "So how are they with magic?"

Orsi: "Well, Yuno is a prodigy with a great amount of mana."

Yami: "That's good."

Fuegoleon: "He would make a great magic knight."

Nozel: "What about Asta?"

Orsi: Asta unfortunately can't use magic."

Fuegoleon: "Wait, he can't use magic?"

Orsi: "Yes, He can't use magic. But he sensory abilities are something else."

Mereoleona: "We haven't seen anything like it."

Fuegoleon: "What he has shown us was remarkable."

Yami: "He may not be able to use magic, but his sensing abilities can make him a dangerous person to fight against."

Orsi: "if only he can walk without tripping every few seconds... The kids like him."

Nozel: "Well, this has been a nice conversation, but we should really start heading out."

"Wait, hold on." Mereoleona then walked to Yami. "Your sword."

"Huh? You mean my katana?"

"Yes, Hand me your katana."

"Why?"

"I'm going to give it to him."

"But it's my katana."

"I'll get you a new one."

"Bet."

Yami handed Mereoleona the sword without a second thought.

With Asta and Yuno

They were sitting down. Asta was playing a game with the kids where they would hide and Asta would sense them.

"So you met them in the forest?" Yuno asked.

"Yep. And they have so much mana." Asta replied to Yuno with excitement in his voice. "You're behind the tree, Nash."

Nash: "Dang it."

"They're sound cool."

"That's what I want to be."

Yuno was confused with what Asta said. "What do you mean?"

"I want to be like them. Strong people that can fight for not only me but those that need help."

"How are you going to to that? You can't see nor use magic."

"That doesn't matter, I'll find a way. No matter how hard it would be, I will become strong like them."

"I like your determination, kid."

Yuno and Asta turned to Mereoleona. She then handed Asta the katana. The katana was in a black scabbard, it had a gold-colored Tsuba(guard), a black handle and a gold-colored Kashira(Buttcap). The sword was big for Asta, he had to grab it with both hands. The best part about the sword was that it contained Mana in it so he would be able to sense it.

"WOAH, Is this... for me?" Asta asked.

"Yeah, It's to get you a early start."

"Early start?" Asta and Yuno said with confusion.

"Yeah, your father have said some great things about you two. You have a great amount of mana and is very skilled with it as well. Now with you, despite not having magic, your extraordinary senses make up for it. With enough training, you two can be some formidable warriors."

"You really thinks so?!" Asta asked with stars in his blank eyes.

"I know so. Now I have to leave before Silva gets upset." Mereoleona walked off and left with the other mages.

"Yuno, did you hear?!"

"Of course Asta."

"Come on Yuno!" Asta got up and started to drag Yuno somewhere.

"Asta, where are we going?!"

"We're going to the forest to start training!"

"Right Now?"

"Yeah! We have to start training!"

"Wouldn't it be better if I lead?"

Asta stopped running. "Good point. Lead the way."

Yuno got in front and they started to walk to the forest.

"Wait." Asta turned his head to face the church. "The game is over! you can come out from behind the church!"

3 children came from behind the church, upset that the game has ended.

In the forest

"All Right! We're going to battle each other." Asta told Yuno.

"Are you sure?" Yuno asked doubtingly.

"Yes, I'm sure. This will make our fighting skills better."

"Ok, But you can't take the sword out."

"I know Yuno."

Asta charged at Yuno, ready to swing his new heavy sword, but he saw some mana forming from Yuno's hand before being sent back by Yuno's wind.

"ASTA! you ok?"

"Yeah, I am. Let's try again!"

Asta charged again and saw mana forming around him. Before the wind kicked in, Asta managed to avoid it, which caught Yuno off guard. He then charged at Yuno and Yuno made some wind to stop Asta from getting close, but Asta held his ground with the sword keeping him from flying. He then muscle up the strength and powered through the wind and hit Yuno in the head.

"Ah Ha, Point for me." Asta said.

"Alright then." Yuno got up and started generating wind. "Bring it Asta!"

So for the entire day, Asta and Yuno kept their battle training until they notice the the sun was going down, so they heading home for the day.

And that's the end of the chapter.
