Chap 3

'Fuck my luck.' I thought as I buried my head in my hands.

"Are you alright?" May asked, sounding concerned.

"Yes." I answered while standing up and moving over to them. "But can you two ladies wait outside for a minute."

"All right. Minute starting now." Ciel said as she and May left the room.

"Thanks." I said as I closed the door once they exited the room. Turning around to face Zed, I gave him my honest thought. "No."

"What do you mean?" He asked with a smirk.

"Zed, I'm not a babysitter. Not to mention, I seriously doubt they would make good MiB agents." I answered.

"Honestly, they remind me of Agent T." J added.

"What made you even choose them, Zed?" K asked.

"Ciel managed to chase down three cephalopods and was able to keep them in one place until MiB personal arrived." He answered.

"And May?" I asked.

"She is the keenest observer that we have come across by a mile. Managing to spot weapons and various other items long before any agent would have spotted them. We even tested her, and the results surpassed anything we expected." He answered.

"Zed, that doesn't-" I began but was interrupted when the door opened.

"Okay, it's been a minute." Ciel said as she and May entered the room again.

"I can already tell she's going to be a by-the-book person." J whispered.

"Yes, but we need another minute. Do you mind waiting outside again?" I asked.

"All right." May answered while Ciel rolled her eyes and checked her watch before leaving the room.

"What MiB agents are they replacing?" K asked.

"None. I personally allowed them entry into MiB." Zed answered, surprising us.

"I know we don't really follow the book exactly. But at this point, we might as well throw the entire book out." I said, annoyed.

"Normally, I would never question your motives, Zed, but this feels like you're just doing whatever you can to give Jaune a partner." K said, skeptical.

"Sure, seems that way." J agreed.

"It may seem like that, but it's not. After reviewing previous incidents, I realized that we might need to replace or update our protocols regarding potential recruits." Zed explained.

"In that case-" I began but was cut off again when the door opened.

"Alright, your minute is up. Can we discuss what's needed now?" Ciel asked.

"Five minutes. Just give us five more minutes as we need to discuss a few things with our boss." I told them already on the verge of losing my patience.

"We can stay here, considering he is the one who invited us here." Ciel countered.

"This is personal." I told her.

"Yet, it seems to involve us." She pressed on.

"We can come back another time if you want or if there is a waiting room, we can go there." May interjected.

"That would be fine." I told her. "It's right down the hall. Third door on the left."

"I wouldn't advise that, May. Zed here offered us a proposition. And if we are to make a wise decision, we need to know all the details." Ciel said as she grabbed May by the arm to stop her from leaving the room.

"True. Not to mention he still has to tell us the nature of the proposition." May agreed after thinking it over. Irritated, I reached into my suit's pocket and took out my glasses. The others followed suit as well and put them on.

"Why are you all put-" Ciel began but stopped when I took out the neuralyzer and used it on them, wiping away their memories of the last few minutes.

"Forever grateful for these guys." I said as we took off our glasses.

"Grateful for what?" Ciel asked, blinking a few times.

"What were we talking about?" May asked.

"We were asking you two to wait outside a few minutes while we finish up a few things before we begin to discuss the proposition Zed offered." I lied.

"Alright." May said as she and Ciel exited the room.

"Okay, Zed. Let me get this straight. The reason you brought both Ciel and May aside from their supposed 'skills' is to see how we should adjust our protocols regarding recruits." I surmised.

"Pretty much." He answered. "Now, are you willing to take them on and see if they should become agents or not?"

"Fine. I'll do it, but I won't like it." I answered.

"That's the spirit. Now, bring them in and leave us." He ordered.

Getting up, we exited the office before telling May and Ciel that they could go in to see Zed. They nodded before entering the room while we made our way to the break room. Getting there, I took out the ingredients to make a fresh pot of coffee. K and J, meanwhile, grabbed the coffee cups before sitting down on the seats near the wall.

"Oh, boy. This is going to be a long day." I said as we waited for the coffee to finish brewing.

"Think you're going to need help?" J asked.

"Most definitely. I honestly don't know what Zed was thinking." I answered with a sigh.

"While I do agree that we need to update our protocols, this is a bit much. Add to the fact that you haven't trained a recruit before today. And now Zed wants you to train two at once." K added as the coffee finished brewing.

"Exactly. This is going to be a pain, and yet we still have twelve more hours of the workday left." I said as I grabbed the pot and poured a cup for each of us.

"How do you plan on breaking them in?" J asked as he took a sip of his coffee.

"Not sure yet. Maybe take them to the neighborhoods where more aliens reside, see how they handle it, and take it from there." I answered while taking a sip of my coffee. 'Damn, that's good.'

"And once the day is over, what then? How do you plan on letting them process everything?" K asked.

"Either take them to the same place you took K to when you first showed him the world of MiB. That or take them to get some pie." I answered as I took a seat as well.

Ten Minutes Later

'Agents J, K, J.A. report to Zed's office.' The computer told us.

Getting up, we threw out our coffee cups in the trash before exiting the break room and heading to Zed's office. Arriving, we entered and saw both Ciel and May looking shocked and conflicted. However, we knew what was going through their minds as every agent feels the same way initially. After all, it's not exactly easy to comprehend that aliens exist and that we've been living with them for a long time.

"What's happening, Zed?" I asked.

"I just finished telling Ciel and May what comes with being an agent of MiB." He answered.

"It certainly is a lot to take in." K commented.

"It really is. I mean, I know there is dedication to your job, but this is certainly taking it to the next level." Ciel said with a far-away look.

"Yeah, you're essentially giving up your life to this job." May added.

"Not necessarily." I corrected.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"At any point during your career, you can choose to leave. There isn't any rule against an agent leaving." I explained.

"Wouldn't that be dangerous considering everything we would know?" Ciel asked.

"We have protocols and guidelines to deal with that." K answered.

"What now then?" May asked.

"Now, we take you both into the field and see how you do. Then, if you pass and can handle what we show you, you both officially become MiB agents." I answered.

"Isn't there a training process? I feel like we would need to be trained to handle what this agency deals with regularly. Or at the very least, a rules book that can give us guidelines on how to handle situations." Ciel asked.

"We do. But it's not going to give much help." Zed answered as he took a spare book and gave it to her. "Besides, you'll both have a mentor to teach you the ropes."

"That's good." Ciel said, relieved.

"Who's our mentor?" May asked.

"Agent Jaune will be your mentor. And for today, agents K and J will be helping out as well." Zed answered while pointing at me.

"Great." Ciel said while rolling her eyes. Clear to everyone that she is not thrilled at me being her mentor or that she is now beginning from the bottom again.

"Hopefully, he's not as gross as my old teammates." May added.

"Wait till she sees some of the more regular types of messes we have to clean up." J whispered, causing both me and K to laugh.

"What's going on?" Ciel asked.

"We have a skimmer." Zed answered while bringing up the emergency on his computer.

"Skimmer?" May asked, confused.

"Landed alien out of zone." I explained.

"That's another thing. I can't believe aliens exist and that they have been living among us all this time." Ciel added.

"Who is it this time?" J asked.

"This will be a familiar one to you, J, and Jaune." He answered with a smirk.

'Redgick. Hopefully, this won't end with me covered in vomit again.' I thought. And judging by the groaning that came from J, I knew he felt the same.

"Where is he located?" K asked while trying to contain his laughter.

"Right off the Vale forty-five turnpike. It seems his vehicle broke down and is now stuck." Zed answered.

"Then we better get going right now." I said as we got up from our seats.

Motioning for Ciel and May to follow us, we exited Zed's office before heading to the garage. Getting there, I pressed the button on my keys to have my car come to us. And once it reached us, we smirked at the shocked expression of Ciel and May. Getting in, we drove out of the base and onto the streets. Fortunately, for once, the roads weren't that packed, making travel much less frustrating. However, that did not mean it was a quick trip, as Redgick was about an hour out of the city.

"Um, mentor. Jaune, was it?" May asked.

"Yes. What is it?" I asked.

"What exactly do we do with a 'skimmer?'" She asked.

"That depends on the reason as to why the alien left their zone. Most of the time, we send them back with a warning." I answered.

"That's not what the book says. It says here that we should arrest and detain the alien that leaves their zone." Ciel interjected. Since we got into the car, she's been going through the book.

"That was in the beginning. Now we go by according to their reason. However, that can change if there is a lockdown." K explained.

"What kind of lockdown?" May asked, which caused K, J, and I to smirk.

"Believe it or not, despite what you may think, the Great War wasn't the only apocalypse that Remnant has dealt with." I answered. "In fact, in the past four-five years, there have been three apocalypses that happened."

"WHAT!?" Ciel and May asked, shocked.

"There is a lot of things that endanger Remnant daily. Yet, no one knows thanks to us." J told them. They both remained silent as they took this in, evidently not expecting what we told them.

"How long is it until we reach the skimmer?" Ciel asked.

"About an hour." I answered.

"Mind if we listen to some music while we get there? And process everything." May asked.

"Sure." I answered before turning on the car's radio. And it just so happened to be playing a song J made a while ago.

Nod ya head!

When we get down with the black suits, baby

Just lettin' loose up in here, go crazy

The way we bouncin' and shakin', I know you feelin' me

So get up out ya seats, come on and nod ya head with me

When we get down with the black suits, baby

Just lettin' loose up in here, go crazy

The way we bouncin' and shakin', I know you feelin' me

So get up out ya seats, come on and nod ya head with me

"Catchy." Both Ciel and May said as they lightly nodded their heads to the music.

One hour Later

"All right. We're here." I said as I parked the car to the side of the road. Up ahead was Redgick's car. And from it, we could hear screams from his wife.

"What are we supposed to do again?" May asked as we exited the car.

"We are going to handle it. Both of you are just going to watch to see how it's supposed to be handled." I corrected. Taking out my keys, I locked the car before we made our way to Redgick's car.

"And before you start, remember, these are aliens. Not Faunus or humans." K told them as we reached the car. "Afternoon, Redgick."

"We'd like to see your license and registration." J told him.

"Of course." Redick said as he took out his license and gave it to us. Taking it, we saw that it was his remnant license.

"We'd like to see your other license." K corrected.

"He doesn't look like an alien. Just some random guy." May commented while Redgick gave J his resident alien card.

"Some can disguise themselves as needed to blend in with the rest of the population. And if they can't, we provide disguises for them." I explained.

"Are there any aliens that already look like humans or Faunus?" Ciel asked.

"Only a small handful. Although there are some races that look like certain animals like dogs, cats, and roaches." I answered.

"Okay. Redgick. We've been through this twelve times before. Your ass cannot leave upper Vale." J told Redgick. However, as soon as J said this, we heard more screaming. Looking to the back of the car, we saw that it was his wife screaming. We did not need to be told as we knew exactly why she was screaming.

"Oh, boy." K muttered.

"What's happening?" Ciel asked.

"She's going into labor." I answered. This caused May and Ciel's eyes to widen in shock.

"Shouldn't we get her to a hospital?" May asked.

"No need. You come with me, Redge." K answered before turning to me and J. "And you both handle this."

"Screw you, K." I told him with a groan as J, and I turned to help Redgick's wife.

May P.O.V

"Have either of them done this before?" Ciel asked, curious and concerned as we walked away from the car.

"And with an alien, no less?" I asked.

"They do it all the time. Let them work." Agent K answered.

"Are you doing this just to get a laugh?" I asked, noticing the crinkles on his face twitch ever so slightly, which told me that he was lying.

"All right. Now, pay attention, you two, as this will be fairly common." He said with a smirk before going serious and turning to Redgick.

"Still don't think he is an alien." I whispered to Ciel, who nodded.

"Okay, Reggie. What's the reason this time?" K asked. "New neighbors?"

"No, it's my wife. She's pregnant." He answered.

"We can see that. Why isn't she at a hospital?" Ciel asked.

"WOAH! EXCUSE US, MISS!" We heard Jaune and Agent J scream. Quickly turning back to them, we saw both being lifted into the air by giant squid tentacles.

"WHAT IS THAT?!" Ciel and I shouted in shock. Taking out my sniper rifle, I aimed at the tentacles to try and help them escape.

"Woah. Don't do that." K said as he lowered my rifle.

"Why? They need our help?" Ciel asked while pointing to J and Jaune, who were both struggling to get free.

"I told you both, their professionals and have done this before. " He answered, smiling.

"WE COULD ACTUALLY USE THE HELP! OW!" Jaune shouted as he and J were slammed into the side of the car. We could even see Jaune's aura flicker a bit from the hits.

"You're both doing fine." K shouted to them.

"KISS OUR ASS, K!" J shouted as the tentacle kept waving them around in the air before bringing them into the car.

"Like the kid said, why isn't your wife at the hospital?" K asked.

"Well, the one we would have generally gone to is at max capacity. And the only other hospital that has the needed equipment is outside our residential zone." Redgick answered.

"Do you know why they are at max capacity?" K asked.

"IF YOUR DONE TALKING!? MIND GIVING US SOME HELP?" Jaune shouted as they were brought out of the car and slammed on the roof again. Ciel and I both winced when we saw the car's roof cave in from the hits.

"EXCUSE ME, MISS!" J shouted.

"You guys are doing fine. Better than last time." K shouted back before turning to Redgick.

"They needed all hands-on deck to take care of a couple of other soon-to-be mothers that have lots of kids at once." He answered.

"You should have called us then, and we could have provided transportation to get your wife to the hospital in time." K told him.

"Right. Next time." Redgick said as he took back his I.D.

"Now that's done, can we go help them?" Ciel asked.

"All right. We'll give them a hand." K relented with a sigh.

"WOAH!" Jaune and J shouted as they were thrown violently out of the window of the car.

"Ah, good. They delivered the babies right on time." K said with a chuckle as we rushed over to them. Getting there, we saw in their hands what looked like a weird squid creature.

"Are you both okay?" I asked them.

"Peachy." Jaune answered as he adjusted his grip on the baby.

"Congratulations, Redge. Twins." K said, smiling.

"You know, despite being space squids, they are actually cute." Ciel commented as the babies looked around in wonder.

"But what's the gurgling sound?" I asked, confused. However, it seemed J and Jaune knew what it was.

"Oh, great." They said as they closed their eyes right before the babies vomited on them.

Ten Minutes Later

Jaune's P.O.V.

"Not one word." I said, annoyed as I started up the car. Right after the babies vomited on me and J, both Ciel and May have not stopped laughing.

"Anything about that seems usual?" K asked. His tone told us he was not serious and was only messing with us some more.

"Don't start." J warned as he wiped off the last of the vomit.

"You have to admit, that was funny." May said, laughing.

"For you all, maybe. Not for me or J." I said as I pulled onto the road and headed back to the city.

"Where are we going now?" Ciel asked as she finished laughing.

"Back into the city. This was just a minor setback that we needed to handle." J answered.

"I thought we were going back to your base so you can wipe off the baby vomit?" May asked with a smirk. "How often has this happened anyway?"

"More than you would expect." J answered.

"However, if you mean something similar to this, then only a couple of times." I added.

"Yet, never on a human or Faunus?" May asked.

"Nope." I answered.

"In all seriousness, should we be heading back to base to get you both cleaned up? It says here that any agents covered in an unknown fluid of aliens should report back to base for decontamination." Ciel asked while pointing to the book.

"That only applies to certain alien species or when it's from a fight. Otherwise, you just a shower at the end of the day." I answered.

"That reminds me, when is the end of the day for you guys since it's nearing midnight?" May asked, letting out a small yawn.

"MiB works on Centaurian time, which is a thirty-seven-hour day. If you become official agents, give it a few months, and you'll both get used to it. Or have a psychotic episode." K answered.

"A little advice, make coffee and naps your best friends. Otherwise, you'll fall asleep midway through your shift." J added.

"How do we become official agents again?" Ciel asked.

"This is the testing phase. Both of you already have the skills needed; we only need to see if you can handle it. And at the end, I'll determine whether or not you will both become official agents." I explained as we finally reached the city again.

After that, we fell into a comfortable silence as we drove to our next destination. As we drove through the city, I let out a smile at seeing all the citizens going about their lives. Yet, unbeknownst to everyone outside of the MiB, many citizens here were aliens, not humans, Faunus, or animals. And as we passed them, many memories came flooding in. From when J, K, and I first dealt with that giant bug to dealing with Serleena and time traveling to defeat Boris, the Animal. While it was never easy dealing with these threats and definitely left its mark, it was worth it to see everyone able to keep going on with their lives in peace.

"Jaune?" May asked, snapping me from my thoughts.

"Yeah." I said as we came to a stop at a red light.

"Are there any alien plants?" She asked.

"Yes. However, we keep a strict watch and regulation on all vegetation and plant life that comes to Remnant as to not create an imbalance in the ecosystem." I answered. "Why?"

"I may not be that interested in plants, but I do know that plants don't usually grow grates located above sewer tunnels." She explained.

"Damn it, Gregory." J said, annoyed, as I pulled into an open spot to park the car.

"Gregory? Wait, you mean whatever May saw was an alien?" Ciel asked.

"Yes, though I'm more curious as to how she managed to see the tiny ass plant." J answered as we got out of the car.

"I used to be a sniper for my old team. I need to notice these things so I can help out the rest of my team. That is if they ever listened to me." May answered, annoyed. Presumably at her old teammates.

"Is everyone assigned a partner or team in MiB?" Ciel asked.

"When they are recruits or still being trained, they are assigned a mentor. Afterward, they are usually on their own for a while before being given a permanent partner." K answered.

"Can mentors become the partners?" May asked.

"It doesn't happen often, but yes, that can happen. In fact, K here was the mentor of J and I, and now he is that partner of J." I answered.

"How about you, Jaune?" Ciel asked.

"Don't have a partner currently. My last one was unfit for the job, so we had to let her go." I answered as we reached the grate that had the flower. Kneeling, we gently tapped the flower, which shook violently afterward.

"Gregory. What are you doing here?" J asked.

"What alien is this?" Ciel asked as she flipped through the book.

"Giant worm. They have no official name, so we call them giant worms." I answered.

"You know that in exchange for staying in the M, R, L lines, you can eat all the inorganic trash you want." K told him, only to receive a growl in response.

"Hey, don't give us that attitude." I warned.

"You understand what this alien is saying?" Ciel asked.

"Yes. There are optional language classes MiB offers each of its agents. However, if you don't want to take any, you can wait until you receive the standard-issue translator." I answered. "And before you ask, yes. It was a pain to learn some of these languages."

"Gregory, remember you already have two strikes. If you don't leave now, we are going to be forced to arrest you." K warned.

"How big is Gregory?" May asked. However, as soon as she said this, the ground started to shake.

"You better back up." I said as we quickly got up and moved back. Unfortunately, Gregory came up from right beneath us.

"WOAH!" K and J shouted as they flew into a fruit stand.

"THAT'S GREGORY!?" Ciel and May shouted when they saw the five-hundred-foot-long worm emerge from the ground.

"Damn, Gregory. You're getting big. Almost as big as Jeffery." I said, impressed at how big he had gotten in the past few months. He growled before going back underground.

"HE CAN GET BIGGER!" Ciel shouted in shock.

"WAIT! THERE ARE MORE OF HIM?" May exclaimed, also in surprise. However, before I could answer, I heard the sound of the ground breaking. Turning around, I saw that Gregory was about to use his tail.

"WATCH OUT!" I shouted as I pushed May and Ciel out of the way. Only to get hit instead and be sent into a nearby store. Getting up, I ignored the shocked gasps of the employees before running back to the hole in the ground and saw that Gregory was trying to escape. Looking up, I noticed that J and K had recovered and joined me.

"Exactly like his older brother." J commented as he fixed his outfit.

"What should we do?" May asked.

"J and I will handle Gregory. You two will go with K and try to keep up while securing this sector." I answered as I gave K my car keys.

"Exactly how are you going to do that? The book doesn't say anything about dealing with a giant worm." Ciel asked as she furiously flipped through the pages of the book.

"Like this." I answered before J, and I jumped into the hole and landed on Gregory. Only to be nearly flung off from how fast he was going.

"OW! DAMN!" J shouted when a sign hit us in the face and nearly knocked us out.

"All right, Gregory. You forced us to do this." I told him while taking out a syringe that had a vial of tranquilizer fluid attached to it. 'Hopefully, this isn't expired.'

"Sweet dreams, big boy." J commented with a smirk as we injected him with the tranquilizer. Unfortunately, it did not affect Gregory and only made him roar in anger and pain while also causing him to speed up.

"DAMN IT!" J shouted in anger as we struggled to load a fresh vial into the syringe.

'Really need to assign a new agent to the chemical division.' I thought as I managed to load the vial. However, before we could inject him, he threw us off and into the train that changed tracks and is now in front of us.

"Just like Jeffery." J gasped out as we quickly stood up and dusted ourselves off. Looking around, we noticed that, just like last time, no one even batted an eye at us.

"Transit Authority people. We have a bug in the electrical system." I announced while pulling out my badge yet covered my name.

"Please move to the forward cart." J added. Yet, no one moved.

"Makes you wonder why we even try to protect them sometimes, doesn't it?" I asked J while shaking my head.

"Blondie?" A voice asked, getting my attention. Looking back, we saw two familiar faces walking towards us.

'Oh, great.' I thought as I saw Coco and Velvet walking towards us. Putting on a practiced smile, I was about to greet them but winced in slight pain when Velvet kicked me in the shin. "Ow."

"That's for scaring everyone." Velvet explained with a pout.

"Seriously, Jaune. Everyone has been looking for you." Coco added with a glare.

"Look. I can see there's a bit of tension going on between you three, but how about we save it for later when we are not in danger?" J asked.

"Who are you?" Coco asked while lowering her shades.

"And what danger?" Velvet added.

"We have a bug in the electrical system." I answered.

"What does that mean?" Coco asked, turning her glare from J to me. However, it seemed like Gregory wanted to answer this himself as he bit the back of the train and devoured it.

"Big. Worm." Velvet muttered before passing out. Coco caught her yet was equally as shocked at what she was seeing.

"AAAHHHHH!" All the other passengers screamed when they saw Gregory before getting up and going to the next cart, soon followed by Coco and Velvet.

"Oh, now ya all running." J muttered, annoyed as we followed everyone.

"No, no, no. Sit down. It's only a five-hundred-foot worm." I sarcastically told the passengers as Gregory started eating the train. Getting to the front of the train, we did a quick headcount to ensure everyone was accounted for before knocking on the train operator's door.

"What do-HEY! EVERYONE OUT BEFORE I START KNOCKING HANDS!" The operator shouted when he exited his cabin and saw everyone here.

"You need to get back into that cabin and pull the throttle up on this train." I ordered him.

"I'm Captain Larry Bridgewater, and I decide what happens on this train." He countered.

"Oh, you decide?" I asked.

"Okay, come on." J sad before we grabbed Larry and brought him to the back of the train. Well, whatever was remaining of it anyway.

"Larry?" J asked for confirmation. Even though we already know this guy.

"This is our friend Gregory." I said before pointing to Gregory, who took another bite out of the train.

"Larry just made a decision." He said with his voice full of fear.

"Yeah, Larry needs to take his ass in there." J said while pointing back to the cabin.

"You two seem to know what this thing is?" Coco commented as she tried to wake Velvet up. "Should we be worried?"

"No. In about an hour, none of you will remember this." I answered before turning back to Gregory and pulling out my De-Atomizer.

"Don't make us do this, Gregory." J warned as we locked onto him.

Fortunately, we didn't need to, as the tranquilizers finally took effect and put him to sleep. Sighing, we put away our weapons before checking to make sure everyone was all right aside from the scare. All the while ignoring the questioning stares from Coco and Velvet, who had just woken up.

Five Minutes Later

"Thirty-first street." I announced as what remained of the train came into the station with the doors opening soon after. Getting off, we quickly put on our shades before turning back to the crowd and stopping them from getting off as well.

"Hold on." J said as he took out his neuralyzer and used it to wipe their memory of the last few minutes.

"What's going?" A passenger asked.

"The Kingdom of Vale would like to thank you for participating in our drill. Hopefully, you all enjoyed riding the new small non-dust-reliant subway carts." I said, giving everyone their new memories.

"Watch your step. You will have a nice evening." J added.

"Wait, blondie. Where are you going?" Coco asked as she put her shades back on. Thankfully, they were off; otherwise, we would not have erased her memory which could have given us a lot of trouble.

"Don't worry. Tell my friends and team that I'll be back soon. I need to deal with a few pressing matters first." I answered before turning around and leaving. But not before erasing the memory of the train operator. Sighing, we made our way out of the subway station as other agents arrived to sort this whole mess out. Taking out my scroll, I relayed a message back to headquarters.

"Okay. This is the last time J, or I will say this. Will someone please check the expiration dates on the unipod worm tranquilizers? Or do we need to kick someone's ass for the message to be clear?" I said, frustrated, before putting my scroll away.

"I don't know about you, Jaune, but I could use some coffee." J said, groaning in exhaustion and slight pain. Spotting a bench nearby, we headed over to it to have a break.

"Same." I agreed as we sat down. However, before we could even attempt to rest, K arrived in my car with May and Ciel.

"Are you two, okay?" May asked as they exited the car,

"Exhausted." I answered.

"I take it this wasn't the first time this happened." Ciel said while looking at all the agents that were moving about the area.

"Nope. It isn't the first nor will be the last." I answered.

"What will happen to the worm?" May asked.

"MiB personal will take him back to where he supposed to be and restrict his movement privileges." K answered.

"Where to now then?" Ciel asked, fighting through a yawn. Taking out my scroll, I saw that it was already one in the morning. However, before I could answer, my scroll started blaring. Looking down, I noticed that an emergency call was coming through from headquarters.

"What is it, Zed?" I asked, answering the call.

'Kid, we got a bug.' He answered.

"A bug?" Ciel and May asked, confused.

"What kind?" J asked.

'A roach. This one appears to be the fiancé of Edgar. And she seems mad.' He answered.

"Where will she be landing?" K asked.

"Or did she already land?" J added.

'She already landed. Luckily, it was a crash. She seems to be trapped in her ship that's located where we recently installed the neuralyzer.' He answered.

"We'll handle it. Anything else?" I asked as we got up and quickly entered the car again.

'Yeah. Give your cadets some weapons.' He answered before ending the call.

"Can one of you explain what's happening?" May asked.

"And why are we apparently going after a cockroach?" Ciel asked.

"This isn't a cockroach from Remnant. It's a stellar interstellar cockroach. And they thrive on carnage, death, and the destruction of other species; this one seems to be out for revenge on us." K explained.

"You were stung as a kid, weren't you?" Ciel asked.

"That's what J and I said the first time when K told us this." I said with a chuckle.

"Now, imagine a massive big with unlimited strength, a massive inferiority complex, and a real short temper. Does that sound like fun?" K asked.

"Honestly, I already hate cockroaches. So, this will be disgusting and annoying." May answered.

"During my time at Atlas, there were never any cockroaches as we made sure everything was clean and organized. But I hate them either way." Ciel added.

"Glad to know that we're all on the same page. Now, before we get going, I have to ask if either of you get motion sickness?" I asked while taking some motion sickness pills myself.

"No." They both answered as I pulled onto the road.

"Then you're both in for a great time." J said, smiling as he and K strapped themselves in as I flipped open a case.

"What do you mean?" Ciel asked. I just smirked as I pressed the infamous red button with the vehicle transforming into its flying car mode and taking off into the sky. All the while, Ciel screamed in shock while May seemed to be somewhere between fear and excitement.

Three Minutes Later

"Okay. We're here." I said as I landed the car. Turning around, I saw the shocked and somewhat excited looks of Ciel and May. "How was it?"

"I guess we should have given them a warning." J said with a smirk as May and Ciel silently got out of the car. Chuckling, we got out of the car before going to the back. Opening the truck, we revealed the weapons I kept stored in there.

"Why do we need guns, and can't I just use my own?" May asked once she finally recovered.

"Aside from some political b.s., standard weapons like yours will not be very effective against most species." I explained.

"That makes sense. What weapons are you giving us?" Ciel asked. Smirking, I grabbed a weapon that's given to every recruit as an inside joke.

"The Noisy Cricket." I answered as I handed them two tiny weapons that seemed they could break just by sitting on them.

"Are you serious?" Ciel asked as they took the weapons.

"I feel like I could break this thing if I get even slightly angry." May commented while inadvertently pointing the weapon at me.

"WOAH!" K said as he moved May's arm so that the weapon was not pointing at me.

"Despite its size, it has incredible firepower." I advised them as I handed K and J Series 4 De-Atomizers.

"Why can't we get those?" Ciel asked, sounding slightly jealous.

"That's because these weapons require a bit of experience with alien weaponry to wield effectively." I explained as I took one for me before closing the trunk and locking the car.

"So, where is this alien then?" Ciel asked as she started to flip through the book yet again.

"I would place my bets on the hunk of burning metal over there." May answered while pointing to the crashed spaceship. Fortunately, there was no one else here.

"Let's do this." J declared as we made our way over to the wrecked spaceship. Standing about twenty feet from it, we waited for any signs of movement. At first, there was none, but after a couple of seconds, we saw something coming out of the wreck.

"All right, bug. Come out with your hands up." J shouted as he aimed his weapons once we could make out the figure.

"So, you are the ones who killed my husband to be?" The figure asked as it walked closer to us.

"Damn." I said when I realized that this bug was nearly twenty feet tall and seemed stronger than Edgar.

"He violated sections four-five-one-three of the Tycho Treaty." K countered as he aimed his weapon at her.

"That's why we had to put his ass down." J added.

"Shouldn't we try communication first?" Ciel asked, yet, she and May kept their weapons aimed at the roach, albeit awkwardly due to the size. However, as she asked this, the cockroach shot out four ropes of slime secretion from its mouth and used it to steal and eat each of our weapons.

"In hindsight, we should have seen that coming." J commented.

"Especially since Edgar did the same thing." I added. Hearing the cockroach growl, we braced ourselves as the bug hit us with her arms and sent us flying away.

"Ow." We all groaned as we got up. May took out her weapon and fired a few shots; however, all but one shot missed with the bug shrugging off the bullet that hit it. Reaching into my suit's pocket, I pulled out my De-Atomizer and gave it to May while giving Ciel the spare Noisy Cricket I had.

"What are you doing?" May asked.

"Listen, the priority right now, as with nearly every situation, is containment. Make sure the bug doesn't leave this place." I told them.

Ciel P.O.V.

"You're not going to do what I think you're going to do?" I asked with wide eyes.

"Our job isn't the cleanest. But we do what we must for the people of Remnant to keep on living peacefully. And if that means going down the gullet of an interstellar cockroach, then so be it." Jaune answered as he and Agent K walked up to the bug.

"They're crazy." May exclaimed, shocked and grossed out.

"HEY! BUG!" K exclaimed as he and Jaune got right up in the bug's face.

"You said you wanted revenge. Then here's your chance. EAT US!" Jaune demanded.

"DEAR OUM!" May and I shouted in shock when the bug ate both Jaune and K whole.

"Believe it or not, that's not the first time they got eaten alive by a big ass bug." J commented as he dusted himself off.

"How do we deal with this bug then?" May asked. J started to look around before nodding.

"Keep her distracted. I got a plan. Just try not to hit the stomach." He answered before running off.

"Great." I said, annoyed, as we raised the weapons Jaune gave us and aimed them at the bug.

May fired her weapon first; however, the bug easily dodged the shot by leaping over us and landing about ten feet behind us. May kept firing, but the bug kept avoiding each round before jumping and trying to land on us. Diving to the side, we avoided the attack before quickly getting back up. Raising my gun, I tried my luck in taking down this bug only to get sent flying back from the Noisy Cricket's recoil.

'That was unexpected.' I thought as I got up. Looking for the bug, I saw that it easily avoided each of the rounds May fired at it.

"Got some recoil, doesn't it?" J asked, startling me. Turning to him, I saw that he was smirking while carrying a trash bin.

"Jaune gave it to me on purpose, didn't he?" I asked, irritated as I'm not too fond of surprises, especially when they happen during a fight.

"Actually, he was planning on giving it to you if you two become official agents. It's a tradition at MiB to give the Noisy Cricket to recruits and makes bets as to how far they will fly when they pull the trigger." He answered

"Why do you have a trash bin? Shouldn't we help May as she seems the bug is about to overwhelm her?" I asked as I turned back and saw that May had apparently run out of ammo and was now using her weapon in its ax form. Yet, it was clear that the bug was merely toying with her.

"You'll see." He answered with a smirk.

He then removed the lid before turning the bin upside down. And from it came hundreds of cockroaches. He smirked before crushing one under his foot. As soon as he did so, the bug stopped what it was doing before looking towards us with murderous intent. Instantly I knew what he was getting at and crushed a few more under my foot. The space bug got angrier with each bug we crushed as it slowly crawled towards us. Soon, it was right in front of our faces hissing.

"This may not have been such a good idea." I said, regretting this.

"You best get out of our face before something bad happens to you like Edgar." J warned. However, as soon as he said that, we heard a whirring sound coming from the bug's stomach. "Too late."

'Gross.' I thought when whatever caused the sound that came from the bug's stomach caused the bug to explode. And when it exploded, we became covered in the bug's slime.

"Thanks for the help." May said while wiping away some slime that landed in her face as she ran up to us.

"Don't mention it." J said as he wiped some slime from his suit.

"But where are Jaune and K?" I asked.

"Over here." Jaune shouted. Turning to where it came from, we saw both of them sitting on the floor covered in slime while holding the weapons the bug ate.

"I hate bugs." K commented as he stood up after cleaning his face.

"Same." J ad Jaune agreed.

"You know Jaune; if you weren't covered in slime, I would slap you for not warning me about the recoil of the gun you gave me." I told him.

"Slipped my mind." He said as he stood up as well.

"Is there anything else we have to do, or can we finally call it a day as I want to get some rest and a shower?" May asked.

"Same." I agreed.

Jaune P.O.V.

"We have one last stop left." I answered as we started to make our way to the car.

"Is there any place we can clean ourselves before we go, though?" May asked.

"There are some disinfectant wipes in the car that will suffice." K answered as we reached the car and got in. Opening the glove compartment, I pulled out some disinfectant wipes and passed them around.

"What's the last place we have to go to?" Ciel asked as I turned on the car.

"A place where we can relax, have a bite to eat, and I can tell you my final judgment on whether you two become agents or not." I answered as I began to drive the car to our final stop.

Twenty Minutes Later

"Now, this is good pie." May said as she ate her slice of peach pie.

"And the coffee is excellent. Was this place always here?" Ciel asked as she took a sip of her coffee before going back to her apple, pear, and hazelnut pie.

"This place has been here for about fifteen years." I answered as I finished my pie. Once done, I turned to K and J and nodded to them.

They nodded back before standing up and leaving back to the car. Ciel and May seemed confused for a moment before realizing what was happening.

"So, how did we do?" May asked nervously.

"Are we going to become agents or not?" Ciel asked.

"Before I give my final judgment, I have to ask you this. And remember what Zed told you much earlier in the day. Do you two think you can handle it? And I don't mean the physical demands." I asked them. They looked at each other for a moment before turning back to me.

"It's undoubtedly a lot to take in. However, given a week or two, I feel like I can fully adjust to all the requirements that MiB demands of its agents. Yes, I believe I can handle it." Ciel answered with determination in her voice.

'Seems confident. But it seems it will take her a while before she would stop going by the book.' I thought before turning to May. "And you?"

"As Ciel said, it's certainly a lot to take in. But I feel like, with a bit of help, I can certainly adjust to whatever MiB requires of me." She answered.

'A little hesitant, but with a little help or given an experienced partner, she will no doubt become an excellent agent.' I thought with a nod.

"What's your final decision, Jaune?" Ciel asked.

"My decision is..." I began while reaching into my suit and grabbing what I needed.

Note:

Apparently, not many like Ciel or May as options. So here it is, if you want them to stay or be neuralyzed, just say so. And if you say neuralyzed, please say who would you like to see as Jaune's cadet as he needs a partner.

SilverExcel115: There are no pairings currently but that will change down the road.
