Somewhere in the Castle, all of the Koopalings were in their Game Room. Video Games and empty snack bags were scattered all over the carpet. On a large sofa, Larry, Roy, and Morton were playing against each other on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on the big screen T.V. Iggy and Lemmy were laying on the carpet waiting for their turns while eating chips and drinking soda. Ludwig was in an armchair reading a chapter book and was trying to concentrate, but was unable to due to his younger brother's constant yelling. Wendy was on another armchair and was fixing up her makeup, putting lipstick on her lips, mascara on her eyelashes, and foundation on her skin while holding a small mirror. As they continued, they all heard a knock coming from the door to the Game Room. However, most of them were too focused on what they were doing to answer the door.
"Iggy! Get the door!" Said Roy while playing on the game's controller, trying to knock the other players off the track.
"I'm not getting it! Why don't you get it?" Iggy said while looking at the T.V. screen and was about to put another chip in his mouth.
"We're on the 2nd lap dude! We ain't moving!" Roy said back while attempting to drift his avatar.
"Well, I'm not moving either. Lemmy, get the door." Iggy said while shifting his large glasses eyes to his older but small brother.
"What!? Why do I have to!?" The rainbow mohawk-haired Koopa said while trying to drink his soda.
"Cause you're the second oldest," Larry said while still playing.
"Then ask Ludwig! He's not doing anything!" Lemmy yelled, looking annoyed with his younger but bigger brothers.
"Oh, don't put me into this! I'm trying to read! You all are making me lose my place!" Ludwig said angrily while trying to focus on his book.
"Then get a bookmark, Beethoven!" Lemmy yelled.
"Ask Wendy! She's not doing anything either!" Ludwig yelled while pointing at his bald sister.
"Darling, I'm trying to look splendid right now! You're making me smear my makeup!" Wendy yelled while trying to put her lipstick on.
"Wendy, I'm pretty sure your lips can wait a good 10 seconds to open the door," Larry said while trying not to get hit by the Blue Koopa Shell that was thrown by Roy's avatar.
"Well, I'm focusing dearies!" Wendy yelled as she was now tightly gripping on her mascara.
"It does not take at least 10 seconds to lose your focus just putting on makeup that will eventually chip away sis!" Iggy pointed out, now getting irritated with all of his siblings.
As they all continued to argue with one another, Morton was still acting calm and continued looking at his siblings talking back at each other with snarky comments as he continued to hear someone knocking on the door. If none of his siblings were going to answer it, then he'll have to answer it.
"Morton will get door. Morton will just pause game." Morton said as he was about to hit the pause button to stop the game.
"Wait, Morton, DO-!" Roy panicked while trying to drift his avatar again to get to the finish line.
However, this was already too late since Morton already hit the pause button and began to get out of the seat of the couch.
"COME ON MORTON!" Larry groaned, raising his arms in the air in a mixture of disbelief and annoyance.
'What? Morton said Morton will get door. Morton will be back." He said while making his way to answer the door.
He made his way to the Game Room door and opened it to see Bowser Junior on the other side. Junior had a confused look on his face, wondering what was taking his older adopted siblings so long to answer the door.
"Hi, Brother Junior!" Morton said smiling.
"Hey, Morton! What was taking you guys so long to open the door?" Junior asked while shifting his eyebrows at his larger dark-skinned brother.
"Oh, Morton siblings too lazy to pause game," Morton said, glaring at the other Koopalings.
"HEY!" The other Koopalings said while looking angrily at Morton.
"You guys are playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ?!" Junior gasped, looking at the T.V. screen. "Awesome! Who's winning?" Junior asked, walking towards his siblings and then sat down on the carpet.
"Well, I was about to win until "Someone" had the nerve to pause the game, breaking my focus!" Roy said while glaring at Morton angrily in his pink shades.
"Morton siblings no answer door, so Morton answer door. That's what Morton siblings wanted, right?" Morton said while sitting back down on the couch and grabbed the controller to resume the game.
"You didn't have to pause the game man," Roy said while tilting his shades down to show a bit of his blue eyes.
"Roy, darling, what would you have done if you got the door?" Wendy asked while finishing putting foundation on her skin.
"He'd probably just leave the game running and make himself loose anyway cause he has no common sense." Iggy chuckled.
"You wanna get clobbered, Pineapple head!?" Roy angrily said while beginning to crack his knuckles, getting ready to pound his green-haired brother.
"I'd honestly like to see you try, Pinkie head," Iggy said, rolling his eyes.
"Ok, THAT'S IT! I'M GONNA-" Roy shouted, before being immediately stopped by Ludwig.
"Anyway. Junior, did you need anything?" Ludwig asked while breaking the fight before things escalated.
"Oh well, Dad told me that Larry, Morton, and I were going somewhere today at 3:45 P.M.'" Junior said.
"Really? Where are we going?" Larry asked while continuing to play the game.
"I'm not sure. But Dad was acting a little funny when he said we were going somewhere." Junior said, scratching his head.
"Daddykins was acting funny? How Darling?" Wendy asked while looking at herself in the mirror and looking at her brother.
"Well, Dad had a worried look on his face. Like he was a little sad when he said we were going somewhere." Junior explained.
"That is a little peculiar for Father," Ludwig said while turning a page in his book.
"And you wanna know something else, guys? My friend Pom-Pom said she was going to the Doctor today at 3:45 P.M." Junior explained.
"Is she going in for a check-up darling?" Wendy asked, putting her makeup away.
"I think so. But she doesn't know either." Junior said as he continued to scratch his red hair.
As Bowser Junior continued to think about what he, Larry, and Morton would be doing today at 3:45 P.M. and why their Dad would be acting weird about it, one of the Koopalings had an idea of what it could be.
"Say, what if you guys are going to the Doctor too?" Lemmy thought while taking another sip of his soda.
"Why would they be going to the Doctor?" Iggy asked, looking at his brother and adjusting his glasses.
"Hold on a minute. Isn't it Vaccination Season?" Ludwig asked while slightly putting his book down.
"Va-cci-na-tion? What's a va-cci-na-tion?" Junior asked while having trouble pronouncing what his dark blue-haired brother said.
"Does brother Ludwig mean Vaccination shot?" Morton asked while putting his controller down.
"Yes! Isn't it Shot Season?" Ludwig asked, putting his book on his lap.
"Come to think of it. Yeah! It is Shot Season!" Iggy said, turning to his brothers and sister from the carpet.
"S-shot? What's a Shot?" Junior asked confusingly, looking at his siblings.
"Oh, you're probably too young to know what it is, Junior. Let me explain. A Shot is a type of medicine that a Doctor gives you by sticking a needle in your arm to strengthen your body's immune system." Iggy explained while looking at his younger brother.
After hearing the word "needle," Bowser Junior turned his expression from being confused to having a hint of fear in his eyes and beginning to growing with utter shock, and his dark green scaly skin began to turn pale green from Iggy's words.
"N-n-needle…?" Junior stammered while looking like he had seen a giant Boo.
"I'm not saying that's where you guys are going, but it's just a thought. However, it could explain why Dad was acting nervous. It's just a thought though." Iggy theorized.
"O-oh…" Junior nervously said while his body began to shake with utter fear.
It didn't take long for the other Koopalings to notice that Junior was shaking like he was in Iceland from the snow. Most of the Koopalings were understandable for Junior having the thought of needing an injection. One Koopaling however, was not having the same understandable reaction to his brother's behavior.
"Are you scared?" Larry said while looking at Junior shaking in his place.
"Well….I…." Junior stammered while trying to find the right words to protest, but was unable to due to him still being shaken by what Iggy said.
"Oh. My. Koopa! You are scared! HAHAHA! You're scared of needles and shots!" Larry teased while not holding back his laughter.
All of the other Koopalings had a mixture of displeasure and annoyance by their blue-haired brother's behavior for teasing Junior for being afraid of something that most people are afraid of.
"Larry! Darling! That's rude! Even if it is Shot Season, it doesn't mean that Junior is getting one." Wendy said with a displeased look on her big-lipped face as she disciplined her sky blue-haired mohawked brother.
"Sister Wendy right Brother Larry. Everyone get scared of shots." Morton said, crossing his arms.
"Yeah, dude. I may be a big tough guy, but even I get a little scared of shots if I have to get one. We may be the Koopalings, and we may like being mean, but that doesn't mean we can't be a little nice and sympathize with others." Roy admits pulling his shades down, looking at Larry.
"But only babies are scared of Shots," Larry said with a smug smile.
"Junior may be only 4 years old, but that doesn't mean that he can't be a little scared," Lemmy said, being angered by his brother.
"Correct, even some adults are scared of needles. It is a known phobia, Larry." Ludwig explains while closing his chapter book.
"But people who are scared of needles are just plain babies. What's so scary about getting a gigantic needle jabbed in your arm to just get exposed to colds?" Larry teased while continuing to play the game.
"T-the needles…..LARGE…..?" Junior nervously stammered as his eyes grew more with fear and his body was beginning to shake as if he was in the middle of a blizzard.
"Darling. You're probably not getting a shot today, but even if you are, it's alright to be scared." Wendy said as she got out of the armchair to comfort Junior by patting him on the head.
"Yeah, I may bully you little bro, but even I don't tease or make fun of people on something that even I'm afraid of," Roy said while smiling at Junior.
"Roy's right Junior. For once. Just calm down. I'm sure it's not where you guys are going today." Ludwig said comforting Junior as well.
"O-ok…" Junior said while trying to calm down.
The Koopa kids continued talking and playing video games with each other, seeing who gets to race next. However, although he was trying to calm down, Junior still had the itching thought of going to the doctor today to get a shot and getting jabbed with what he thought was a gigantic needle. He couldn't help but get scared again from Iggy and Larry's words.
After a few minutes passed, Morton, Larry, and Iggy played against one another as they continued playing Mario Kart 8 Deluxe. As they were in the middle of the race, all of the Koopa Kids heard another knock on the door, along with a voice coming from the other side.
"Junior, Larry, Morton! Are you boys in there?" Said an elderly voice.
"Oh, it Grandpa Kamek! Morton get door." Morton said while pausing the game again.
Doing this caused more annoyance to both Larry and Iggy playing.
"REALLY?! AGAIN MORTON!?" Larry groaned in annoyance while losing his focus once again.
Morton answered the door to see his adopted Magikoopa Grandfather Kamek, holding his red sphere scepter.
"Hello there Morton! Are Larry and Junior with you as well?" Kamek asked while adjusting his glasses.
"They here too, Grandpa!" Morton said, pointing at the other Koopalings.
"Excellent! It's now 3:15 PM. You three better be on the Airship, your father is waiting for you." Kamek said, pointing towards the door with his scepter.
"Ok. Come on Morton Brothers! Let's go!" Morton said while walking out the game room door.
"Awww man… I was about to get to the finish line in 1st place." Larry groaned while getting out of his spot on the couch.
"Coming…" Junior said while still a little shaken from the conversation he had with the Koopalings.
As they were heading out the door, Larry made another attempt to scare Junior by the door. Using his Koopa claws, Larry used his index finger to make it appear sharp like a makeshift needle and then roughly jabbed his finger in his arm to frighten Junior.
"Jab-Jab-Jab!" Larry mocked, menacingly grinning at Junior.
This made Junior's legs tremble with fear as he stopped at his place looking at the horrifying thought of how sharp the needle might be. This, however, made Kamek not pleased and caused him to quickly wack Larry on top of his head with his scepter, disciplining his grandson.
"OW!" Larry said while angrily looking at his grandfather as he rubbed his head.
"Enough! Get on the Airship!" Kamek demanded.
Both boys left the room and were making their way to the Airship. Kamek left behind, gave an annoyed sigh for Larry's behavior to scare Bowser Junior. It was at this time, Ludwig finished reading his book, got out of the armchair, and walked towards his wizard grandfather.
"Larry doesn't know any better," Ludwig exclaimed while crossing his arms looking at Kamek.
"I know, he should not be scaring your brother like this. Especially for today." Kamek said with a concerned look on his face.
"What do you mean, Grandpa?" Roy asked while putting the game controller down to look at his Grandfather.
"Well, you see Koopalings. The boys are going to the doctor today. Your Father is very worried for Junior to get his Koopa shot…" Kamek said while tightly gripping his scepter.
Hearing this made the Koopalings look at each other with utter shock on their faces.
"Uh... Oh.." All the other Koopalings said to each other.
Their reasoning for their Dad's odd behavior was shockingly confirmed. Bowser Junior needed to get a shot today, and little did they all know, the young Prince might already know about it.
