I never really thought that my death would come the way it did, that being a bunch of falling rocks.

Okay, that was a little heavy handed, let me back up a little.

I am a very nerdy person. I find enjoyment of all kinds of sci-fi and fantasy settings, and also get a huge amount of happiness in the superhero genre. However, to say that is my main defining trait would be a laughably incorrect statement.

I may be more of a comic book and manga reader, but I find myself getting equal amounts of enjoyment from the more 'refined' forms of literature, such as Frankenstein and The Lord of The Rings novels. Those instances where I find a more traditional story that fits my taste might be a little rarer, but they are very enjoyable none the less.

Heck, I even find enjoyment from sports. Not many of them mind you, but I get a certain enjoyment from professional wrestling (I know that's technically not a real sport shut up), and from baseball. Because of this, I would say I lived a relatively balanced life.

Oops. Sorry, getting slightly off track. Let's get back and just explain how I got here.

It was a really simple thing really. I live in a particularly hilly part of Texas, and as such there are plenty of hiking trails and plenty of souls who end up walking along them. I myself was walking through a path that went through a small wedge in the ground. As fate would have it a high schooler thought it would be a good idea to climb up the wedge onto the top of the hill and ended up knocking some stones loose.

Those stones apparently held together a bunch of larger boulders that all ended up falling right as I was hiking past them.

I'm pretty sure my body made a splat sound when I died, which brings us back to here.

Welcome to Hidden Shadows: A Shinobi Village Management Game

…What have I gotten myself into?

I spent a few moments just sitting there, just staring at the screen siting in front of me. I pondered what this could be, likely just a fever dream my screwed-up head was making up as I was dying, or an actual god is fucking with me for shits and giggles.

It likely doesn't matter, I'll just treat it as a second chance and go for it, maybe this is one of those gamer things I've read so many times.

I attempted willing the next screen to appear as I had read it being described many times, but then realizing I still had my body and could just click the screen like a normal fucking person. When I clicked the screen a new one appeared in the previous one's place.

Choose your 'Will'

(Choose two traits)

Beneath that was an expansive list of effects and bonuses. Everything you could think of from prebuilt village templates to having modern weapons and even a dragon nursery. Looking through the lists I eventually came across two particular effects I think would be good for the village I would want to lead.

Strong Bonds: Shinobi in your village will be 10% more loyal to each other and you

Tough as Nails: Lowers the negative effects of 'Despair' by 20%

From what I can tell about these two bonuses was that it would make shinobi in my village more loyal and less fearful in dire situations, which would be good for a leader. I clicked on both options and was taken to a new choice.

Choose a leadership style

Underneath that was a slider that had 'power' on the left and 'leadership' on the right. The slider was directly in the middle, and had my 'level' of power being at 'low kage'. I wonder what that would mean.

Note: 'level' refers to one's physical strength and 'leadership' refers to your skill in leading your village

Sidenote: Your 'level' and 'leadership' can be increased through training or study

Ok, well if that's the case then I'll take more leadership skill please. I can already see a plan forming in my head of how to fix my lack of power, hopefully. I really don't want to spend more time learning politics and economics than I have to.

I then crank the leadership slide up to where it takes up ninety percent of the slider and my level is down to 'Genin'. I then click to go to the next screen.

Choose a Shinobi Trait

Below that was a similarly long list just like that of my will list, and also covered a long line of bases, as well as multiple bloodlines. Looking through the list I eventually found a trait that fit in with my plan.

Shadow Clone God: Your skill with the Shadow Clone technique is unparalleled, being able to summon hundreds of clones as a mere Genin

I felt a slightly sadistic smile come up on my face as my finger immediately and overly dramatically smashed down on the trait, confirming it as my skill.

Choose a village name

Instead of a slider or a list there was a keyboard, and above was a space for the name to be placed. I thought about it for a moment, and eventually settled on a name I think fits.

Namigakure no sato

Yes, I know that there is a Namigakure already but I don't care, this will be my village and I will name it what I want.

Finally, one last screen popped up before me.

Choose a starting location

Underneath was a collection of environments that caught my eye. There were mountains and fields, thick jungles and sandy desserts. However, I eventually decided on an island, as it would be farther away from enemies, and would be easier to defend overall.

Clicking down on the option, I felt my eyes get heavy as they closed themselves.

As I woke up, I heard the sounds of waves and seagulls hitting my ears. I felt piercing rays from the sun assault my eyes as I opened them, and I found myself on the long shores of a beach.

Obviously, this spooked me a little bit. I spent some time calming myself down while observing the waves moving up and down the shores, the sun overhead causing the water to glow with an enchanting gold hue.

Eventually I turned to see a cleared-out field that stretched from the shore I was on to the mountain at what appeared to be the center of the island. At the base of the mountain was a building similar to the Hokage's mansion but cyan where the red was and had the symbol for 'wave' where the fire symbol was on the Hokage's mansion.

I sped off towards the structure, noticing my much higher speed and the fact my body was automatically using the famous Naruto Run as I approached the building.

I entered the building, and was met with an empty library. Like, seriously, there was nothing here.

Note: the more techniques and the more you develop your village, the more filled the village library becomes

I feel like this game is being funny, but I was distracted by a voice that came from my right.

"Oh, hello Namikage-sama!" It was a feminine voice, sounding almost like silk was being softly rubbed against my ears. I turned to look at where the voice came from.

It was a woman, looking around her early twenties. She had slightly pale skin, with long brunette hair and wide, baby blue eyes. She was wearing an outfit similar to that of a Konoha Chunin, but with a dark blue jacket and no spiral on its back.

"Greetings Shiho-chan." I replied automatically, before pausing, wondering how I knew her name.

Shiho smiled and began writing on a sheet of paper. What she was writing I don't know, though she may be doodling since there isn't really much to do here. I then looked around for a moment before returning my eyes towards Shiho.

"Shiho-chan, how many people currently live here besides us?" Shiho frowned, before looking back at me.

"Unfortunately, it is currently only the two of us. However, I'm certain others will join us after hearing of Namikage-sama's greatness!" She said, trying to cheer me up.

She didn't need to; this was perfect for me. I didn't need to worry about running a village as a Genin.

This is what my plan was. In short, I would get the benefits of the 90 to 10 leadership ability from the slider, and use the shadow clone trait to get myself to the level of a kage, and even beyond. I know that I build my village 'will' on loyalty, but I don't think many Jonin would follow someone so much weaker than them. Besides, I don't want to be weak.

And so, I began my long journey towards becoming my own 'God of Shinobi'.

(1 month later)

The first week or so was spent doing almost nothing but getting used to the rules and guidelines of the game and the village as a whole. Which can be stated as the following.

The five major stats in this game are 'Loyalty', 'Resources', 'Military', 'Food', and 'Chakra Points'. 'Loyalty' is as it sounds, the average loyalty that my citizens have to both the village and myself. This is represented by a percentage that is averaged between every citizen of the village. There is also a separate set of average loyalties for any clans I inevitably get for the village, though that doesn't really matter at the moment.

Loyalty is currently at 100% as Shiho is the only member of the village, and she is definitely loyal.

'Resources' represents the materials that we have to make machines, building, and other man-made things. The resources range from mines collecting ores and stones, to forestry collecting trees and berries.

We currently don't have any resources, but I can change that easily with clones.

The next stat is 'Military'. This is just the overall power the village has, and is determined as a fraction. The fraction is the strength of the village over the strength of the village's enemies.

That ratio is currently just a blank space, which is because we currently have no enemies.

Next up is 'Food'. It's food. That's it.

That's actually the most difficult thing to keep up so far, since I've been spamming the Shadow Clone so much and need to constantly refill my tank.

We can focus on that later though.

Finally, we get to the last and arguably most important stat, 'Chakra Points'. This is essentially the currency of this 'game', and can be traded to increase any of the other stats except loyalty as well as everything else you need from jutsu to entire clans. Hmm, what's that? You're asking how to acquire 'Chakra Points'? Well, that's very easy to answer.

You don't.

Ok, that sounds slightly more aggressive than what I wanted. What I mean is that they aren't something you just collect more of. It's something that is collected automatically from citizens, almost like a form of tax. The points very by the strength of the individual. For example, someone of average power (as in a civilian) would give you half a point, while a Genin gives 1 point, a Chunin gives 2 points, a Tokubetsu Jonin gives 1.5 points, and a Jonin gives 3 points. The rest of the levels go in intervals of one, until it reaches the final stage, being 'World Breaker', at 8 total points.

That's another thing I should explain shouldn't I.

There are a total of ten levels for a shinobi to have in this system, and goes in order of Civilian, Genin, Chunin, Tokubetsu Jonin, Jonin, Low Kage, High Kage, Island Breaker, Continent Breaker, and World Breaker.

Yeah, really wish I knew about that system earlier. Although, that may be my fault by not looking at other options on the skill slider.

Now then, back to what I was saying earlier about food. Like I said, I was spamming the Shadow Clones like a mad man in order to get as much training as possible in as little time as possible.

If you were to meet someone who knows how I play games, they would tell you that I am the most methodical gamer they know. Whenever I would play games like Pokémon, I would spend months on the first route grinding my Pokémon up to level 50 before even challenging the first gym (A/N: This is something I actually do irl, no I'm not joking. Yes, it is very sad.).

As such, I applied a similar strategy here, and having the Shadow Clone Jutsu was a part of getting past the grind faster. And if you have read Naruto, then you probably know the downsides to this method.

Which brings me back to my current state.

I walked back into the library, exhausted and my head filled with the start of a migraine. I shambled over to Shiho's desk, plopping my head down onto it in a vain attempt to alleviate some of the pain.

"Namikage-sama? Are you ok?" Shiho asked, hesitantly placing her hand on my head and stroking my hair.

"Mph, hmm hm hm."

"Um… Pardon?" Oh right, my face is flat on the table. I lifted my head to look back at her.

"Yes, I'm ok. It's just I'm recovering from the training I put myself through today, as well as waiting to see the results." It was true. I used up nearly all of my Chakra and overtaxed my mind because I was impatient and dispelled all of the clones at once, which meant I needed to spend time working through the memories and progress the clones made before I could continue.

The other reason I was waiting was for the Chakra Point collection to happen for today (A/N: Chakra Points from now on with be referred to as CP). It happens every day at around 5 pm and is a good benchmark on my progress, as me and Shiho are the only ones here and I don't have to worry about her jumping in power.

I looked over to the nearby clock, 4:59 pm, almost time. I lifted myself up and stretched slightly. I then looked back over to Shiho.

"Shiho."

"Yes Namikage-sama?"

"Are you ready?"

"Ready for what?"

Daily CP Collection: +4.5

"To start building our village."

Hey guys, I had another weird story idea and decided to write it out. This had been something I wanted to test, sort of as a writing challenge of sorts. I think it could turn into something fun.

So today I wanted to get your opinions on this, as I have a few ways this could go, and I want your input.

First question: Do you want this to crossover with another series, or do you think this should take place in a world that I design?

Second question: Do you want me to use clans that already exist (if so which ones), or create my own clans?

Third question: Any Biju, if so which one and who will contain them?

Final question: Namikage, give him a name.

That's all I have to ask, hope you enjoyed reading and have a nice day.
