Hey everyone, Jaykid1 here, finally putting up the remake of my Fairy Tail X Naruto story. It's been a long time coming and truth be told, I'm excited about how this will turn out. So a few changes that need to be addressed.
Naruto's origin story will be different in this story
Spoiler Alert... Apparently in the Fairy Tail sequel manga, there is already a gold dragon named Viernes so Naruto's Slayer magic will have a new name.
The original Pairing was changed so sorry Naruto x Lucy fans but that isn't happening in this story but I'll leave the old one up.
If anyone has any questions, leave them in a review.
Without further adieu...
Disclaimer: Since it's not completely obvious, Fairy Tail, Naruto and all other inspirations for this story belong to their respective creators.

October 10th, X764
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!" A loud, near inhuman scream tore through the night sky, sending various wildlife in the area into a scurry from fright. Deep inside the forest, hidden behind a subtle use of illusion magic, lied a cave. Deep inside said cave, laid out on the floor of a brightly lit cavern, due to the lighting lacrima embedded in the walls, atop a bedding of furs was a woman with vibrant red hair and flawless pale skin bared fully for the world to see. What would've normally been a beautiful face was currently screwed up into an ugly grimace of pain as the lone woman was currently in the middle of childbirth.
With one hand on her enlarged stomach and the other fisted into the furs she lay on, the woman let out yet another ear piercing scream as she once again tried to push, pain wracking through her body. She settled down and sucked in a much needed breath, her hair a complete mess and plastered to her forehead due to the sweat as tears of sadness and frustration fell freely from her vibrant, bloodshot purple eyes. She held her stomach and sent it a half-hearted glare. "As soon as your old enough to understand, you are so grounded." She growled out before another another bout of pain hit her and forced her to her back. "Ok, ok. Come on Kushina, you got this, you got this dattebane!" The now named Kushina gave herself a pep talk. Gathering what remained of her determination, she fisted the furs beneath her, dug in her heels and roared!
"RRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
All was quiet for a moment after her animalistic scream... before the silence was filled by the shrill crying of an infant. Kushina took several deep breaths as she cried with relief and sagged in exhaustion before trying to get her bearings. It took her longer than she'd ever admit, but she finally managed to right herself and attend to the crying newborn.
After cleaning the newborn and swaddling him in a blanket, Kushina finally got a good look at her child and couldn't stop the happy tears that mixed with the sad ones when she saw her son for the first time. Happy that she was holding her own child in her arms and sad because her baby, only 20 minutes old, was already a carbon copy of his father. From the small tuft of shaggy blond hair to the sun-kissed skin and even to the bright blue eyes that stared back at her curiously. This child, Naruto she decided to name him, by appearance alone was a dead ringer for Minato Dreyar, the Yellow Flash of Fairy Tail and her late husband.
Drying her tears, Kushina nursed her child as she lay against a wall and slowly allowed her body to heal. When Naruto had finished and was burped, he fell promptly to sleep. Placing him on some more furs in the center of the room, Kushina let out a breath as her form started to shimmer.
Her body grew and elongated, pale pink skin suddenly changed to shimmering red scales that reflected the lights of the room. Her hands and feet sharped into long scaly claws. Her face morphed into a snout as sharp teeth filled her mouth and her hair formed a shaggy mane of hair as a single horn protruded from her forehead. Spike like dorsal plates burst from her back with red fur lining the base all the way down to the fur tipped tail that extended down her body. Once her body finished changing, Kushina opened her eyes. Despite her dragonification, her eyes remained remarkably human-like.
Coiling her snake-like body up, she rested her head near her child, who unconsciously snuggled into her snout. Feeling content, Kushina closed her eyes, and let sleep claim her. Tonight, she would rest, tomorrow she would plan. Event's centuries in the making were about to commence, and they needed to be ready. She peeked an eye open and looked at her child... He needed to be ready.

13 Years Later...
July 6th, X777
12 year old Naruto Pyildra released a jaw popping yawn. He was heading back home with the supplies his mother sent him to get from the nearby village after he finished his afternoon training routine. His mother had been pushing him extra hard in his training for the last year, double and triple checking his progress with his magic. Making sure he knew everything like it was second nature. She had apparently taught him everything she could and was now making sure he'd fully mastered everything.
He hoped that meant she'd allow him to go out and explore the world soon. He'd been feeling the itch of adventure for a few years now. This itch wasn't helped with the events of last year. He remembered it vividly.
Flashback...
Naruto and his mother were walking through the village located a few miles from the forest they lived in gathering extra ingredients and spices for their dinner that night. Some kind of boar-like beast Naruto had hunted for him and Ramen for his mother, because for some reason, unless it was raw meat, Ramen was the only thing his mother could taste.
They had just got the last of the ingredients when, with their enhanced hearing, they heard a commotion from the village entrance. Apparently a badly wounded man had stumbled into the village on the verge of death. Before the man died, he had spoken about how his village was attacked and destroyed by Zeref worshippers and how the surviving people were taken prisoner.
Naruto looked toward his mother to gauge her reaction and swore he saw a spike of outrage before her face went blank. Even before that man came to the village there had been many rumors circulating around the village about Zeref worshippers kidnapping people and sweeping them away out to sea. Apparently those rumors were true.
They'd swiftly left the village after that, heading home, fighting the whole way. Naruto argued that if people were being attacked and enslaved then they should do something about it while Kushina believed it would just bring unnecessary attention to them.
"Mom you're the one always saying one of the biggest problems in the world is that nobody helps each other. Those people need help and we have the means to help them, so why don't we?" Naruto asked.
Whatever response Kushina had died in her throat when she whirled around and saw the look on her son's face. It hadn't changed from the scowl he wore on their way home but what was different were his eyes. They were still their normal blue, granted his pupils were slits due to his current frustration, but what had her attention was the sheer determination in his eyes. She swore she was looking at the boys father.
Rather than argue, she turned back around and continued toward home. Naruto sighed as he hung his head in defeat before following behind his mother. Before long, they made it back to their cave when Kushina abruptly stopped just outside the entrance, causing Naruto to nearly bump into her. "Mom...?"
"If we do this..." She started as she turned toward him; fixing her son with her most serious look. "You will do, exactly, as I say; when I say it." She said. Naruto perked up in rising excitement. "These people we're about to encounter are fanatics. They truly believe that they can resurrect the Black Wizard. People like this, kill without remorse and won't hesitate even if your a child. I shouldn't even allow you anywhere near them but..." She paused as she sighed. "If nothing else, I trained you so I know your strong enough to handle yourself. Regardless, you will follow my instructions to the letter. Understand?"
"Understood!" Naruto said excitedly with a salute.
"Alright, go grab your cloak and keep your hood up at all times." His mother told him. She barely got the sentence out when he darted into the cave.
Kushina sighed, of all the things he could've inherited from her, he got her rambunctious attitude. 'Of course, I grew out of mine.' She thought smugly, only to shiver as a chill went up her spine when a voice in her head, which sounded suspiciously like her late husband, said 'yeah right'.
Shaking that off, she quickly shifted forms and began stretching her serpentine body. No sooner had she finished had Naruto returned with a long dark cloak that covered his entire body with a beaked hood that left his mouth and chin visible. "I'm ready!" He said, practically vibrating with excitement.
Kushina lowered her snout toward the boy. "Remember our deal. Anything I say, you do. Got it?"
"Got it." He agreed instantly. Kushina nodded and turned her head and lowered it to the ground, allowing Naruto to climb up on her neck and grab hold of her mane. Once he was situated, Kushina rose up and took off, not quite flying but gracefully gliding through the night sky.
They flew around out at sea for over an hour, neither mother or son really knowing what they were looking for when finally Kushina very faintly heard clanging noises out in the distance. Shortly after they came upon an island which appeared to have a large construction site built upon it. When they got close enough, they realized they had arrived in the middle in what looked like a slave revolt. Due to the all the chaos the revolt was causing, no one noticed the large red dragon landing on the outskirts of the island.
Flashback End...
Naruto remembered how he and his mother had found a hidden vantage point to observe what was happening. It appeared they needn't have bothered showing up at all. The slaves apparently were doing a great job of freeing themselves... until they weren't. Magical ghouls were summoned to slaughter the attacking the slaves.
Naruto sighed when he remembered that was the moment he broke cover and charged in, ignoring his mother in the process. 'Boy did I get an earful from mom when we got home.' He thought. 'Of course, she may have been more upset by our passenger. At least she didn't see my face... at least, I don't think that girl saw my face.' Naruto thought back to the girl he'd saved. The mother son duo managed to push back the dark cult and the magical ghouls and where leading the slaves to the boats when Naruto, who once again ignored his mother's orders, doubled back to make sure there were no stragglers.
He was about to head back when he heard a loud bang. Investigating the noise, he found an unconscious red head girl around his age. Looking around he saw a large hole high up on the adjacent wall that she must've come through. When he looked closer, he swore he saw something blue before it vanished.
Putting that blue thing out of his mind, he turned the girl over in his arms and looked her over. He was concerned when he saw all the bruises on her arms and legs that weren't covered by bandages. What drew his attention however was the eye patch over her right eye. It looked new, like she had just recently got it. He growled lowly as anger began to take root in heart. How could people be so cruel.
His anger slowly abated when he felt the girl shift in his arms. He watched as her left eye opened a peek before slowly closing again as she fell into unconsciousness. This was how his mother found him.
After chewing him out for once again going against her orders, she filled him in on what was happening. Apparently most of the slaves had escaped on board the ships and the rest were piling into the last ship. Following that was a short disagreement (Argument) about what to do with the girl. Kushina wanted to leave her just close enough that the other slaves would find her while Naruto wanted to take her with them. Wanting to get off this island as quickly as possible, Kushina compromised. The girl would come with them, but as soon as they got to the mainland they were leaving her. Naruto begrudgingly agreed.
One year later and Naruto still wasn't happy about how they left that girl on that beach all alone. He thought about her from time to time. He didn't quite remember her face, but he did remember that scarlet red hair.
Naruto was brought from his musings when he finally made it home to the cave he called home his entire life. Making his way inside, he had no problem navigating the long dark labyrinth that led to the bright cavern that was his home. Once inside, he saw his mother near the large cooking pot. She had all the ingredients ready to make a large pot of his favorite miso ramen with extra pork. What the occasion was, he didn't know and honestly he didn't care.
"Hey Mom, I'm back. And I got the supplies you wanted." He said as he took the pack he was carrying off his back. "Not really sure what you needed a map of Fiore or these ration packs but I got those too." He said jokingly before he realized that his mother was unusually quiet. Looking over, he saw she was just staring into the pot of boiling water with a strange expression on her face. "Mom!"
Kushina snapped out of it and looked up. "Oh hey, when did you get back?"
Naruto quirked a brow. "Just a few minutes ago. Are you okay? You seem... distracted. Is something wrong?"
Kushina didn't answer for a moment, just stared at her son for a moment before smiling sadly and shaking her head. "No, nothings wrong." She said as she stood up and walked toward a concerned Naruto and pulled him into her embrace. "Have I told you how proud of you I am?"
Naruto wrapped his arms around his mother and snuggled into her embrace without shame as he laughed. "You could stand to mention it more."
Gently Kushina kissed his forehead before pulling away. "Come on, lets put this ramen together. You deserve it."
Naruto eagerly moved to help, but couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. 'Oh well. I'll ask her again tomorrow. Tonight, I've got a date with a large bowl of Ramen!'

Later that night while Naruto was sleeping on his bed of furs, he was completely unaware of the extra presence in his room. Kushina stood over her son, frowning sadly with a few tears in her eyes. She knew what she had to do, but that didn't mean she had to like it.
She kneeled by his side and ran a hand through his hair while pulling a necklace from her pouch. Normally she'd worry about waking him but since she drugged his ramen, she knew he'd be out until at least mid morning. She sighed sadly. "I know you probably can't here me; but even still, I want you to know... I love you, so much." She said as she leaned down to put the necklace around his neck and kissed her son on his forehead. "We will see each other again, my darling." She said as she pulled away and got up. As she left her son's corridor, she looked back at her sleeping boy one last time as a tear fell from her eye before turning and walking out of his life.
-000-
The next morning, Naruto felt groggier than he'd ever felt before. He hobbled out of bed and struggled to his feet. He groaned as he shook his head while his senses slowly came back to him. 'What happened last night? Why am I so tired.' He thought as he oriented himself. That's when he felt something against his chest. Looking down he saw a necklace with a green gem. 'Where'd this come from?'
"Mom!" He called out. He looked up from examining the necklace when he received no answer. "Mom!?" He called again. Sluggishly he left his corridor and walked toward the main cavern. Whatever leftover drowsiness he had left began burning away, replaced with trepidation as he notice the corridor wasn't illuminating. That trepidation started turning into fear when he realized there was no light coming from the main cavern. Breaking into a run, he entered the main cavern and flared his magic aura, creating a bright amber outline around his body and illuminating the large cave. What he saw froze his blood.
The cave was empty. The few possessions they owned that made this cave a home were all gone. The cooking pots, the lighting Lacrima, the ornaments; all gone. But worst of all... there was neither a giant red dragon laying on a large bed of furs nor a red haired woman with a bright smile there to greet him. Fear seized his heart. "Mom." He started quietly. "Mom!" He called louder before he broke into a run and made a mad dash toward the entrance of the cave. "Mom! Mom, where are you!" He cried out.
When he reached the entrance of the cave, he stopped abruptly when he saw what waited for him there. It was a large backpack with camping gear. Sitting on top of it was the map he'd purchased the day before and on top of that was a sealed letter and a note. Dread seized him as he reached for the note. Picking it up, he noticed a few dark splotches on the paper. 'Mom, she was crying while writing this.' He thought as he began reading.
To my darling child...
I don't expect you to understand this. Honestly if I thought there was any other way this wouldn't be necessary. I have to go away for awhile... a long while. It may even be possible that we never see each other again. I pray this is not the case; but in case I'm wrong. there are a few things I need you to know.
Firstly, these last 12, nearly 13 years have been the happiest in my life. I can't tell you how thankful I am that I got to be your mother. I only wish your father was alive to experience this life as well. I've not a doubt in my mind that he would've he loved you as much as I do. You are everything I could've possibly asked for in a child and more. I love you. I love you so much that I've selfishly kept you to myself.
You still have family, your fathers family. They're good people; people I should've taken you to see a long time ago. They're apart of a magic guild called Fairy Tail. I've marked their location on the map.
You may be thinking that I'm leaving you alone, you may even try to find me but don't. Don't waste your life looking for me; because you won't find me. I so sorry but it's true. I'm going somewhere where you cannot follow. Instead... I want you to live. Live well, learn a lot, train hard and love harder. Live your life merrily and to the fullest; and believe that one day we will see each other again.
Love always...
Your Mother
XOXO
P.S. When you get the Fairy Tail, give that sealed note to the master. If I'm right, it should still be a tiny old man. Don't let his appearance fool you. He's the master for a reason.
Naruto was sure some of his own tears had joined his mothers on the paper. Sure, he wanted to go out into the world... but he didn't want to lose his mother in the process. He sat there at the entrance of the cave for a while, constantly rereading that letter before finally he wiped his tears. He couldn't keep sitting here; his mother wanted him to live... so live he shall.
With a look of determination on his face and a renewed resolve, Naruto grabbed the map and looked it over. Down in the south-western part of Fiore near mountain village was a circle with a arrow which read, 'You are Here. And far to the west of Fiore, was another circle with an arrow around a city called Magnolia which simply said 'Fairy Tail'.
His destination set, he ran back to his room and packed some clothes and a few furs to sleep on. One day he'd return for everything else but for now, he'd pack light. Grabbing his pack of supplies and the camping backpack, he took one last look at the cave that had once been his home; a single tear fell from his eye. 'Goodbye mother.' He thought before turning and walking away. He didn't know what the future held for him, but he couldn't deny; he was excited for the journey.
-0000-
It had been a few hours since Naruto set out. Judging by the position of the sun, he had a few more hours of daylight left. Magnolia was a week away on foot and he figured he was making good time. He walked for another hour, considering taking a break when his ear picked up the sound of crying. Stopping for a moment; he listened closer and sure enough he heard what sounded like a little kid crying for their mother.
Setting down his packs he wondered farther into the forest. As he walked, he began to pick up a familiar scent. While it wasn't exactly the same, he'd never mistake it. He smelled a dragon.
He walked for a few moments longer when he finally came upon the source of the crying. It was a little girl with blue hair crying her little eyes out. She couldn't have been older than 4 or 5. 'Could it be?' He thought as he moved closer, the little girl finally looked up. Her doe brown eyes still filled with tears. He stopped short, not wanting to scare her. He needn't have bothered, as soon as she saw him she ran toward him with her arms out, clearly seeking comfort as she reached him and wrapped her little arms around his waist and continued to cry into his shirt.
Naruto kneeled down and hugged the crying child. "Shhh, hush now. What's got you so upset?" He said soothingly already having an idea.
The girl sobbed a bit longer before she looked up and started to sputter. "I-I-I-I can't find my M-Momma." She got out before she started crying again. Based on the girls scent he could hazard a guess that like him, her 'momma' must've been a dragon.
'And if that's the case, then clearly something bigger than I thought is happening.' He thought, realizing that it wasn't just his mother that left but possibly other dragons as well. With that thought, he sighed and held the little girl a little tighter and rubbed her back. When she started to quiet down, he spoke. "You know, my mom left me too." He said getting the teary eyed blunette to look up him again. "She didn't want to, but she had too. I'm sure she had a good reason. Just like I'm sure your momma had a good reason for leaving you too." He said. The girl still looked sad but at least it appeared that the waterworks were done.
A thought occurred to him, he couldn't leave her here. "Hey, how about we stick together for a while?" He said getting her attention. "We dragon's gotta stick together don't we?" He said giving her a toothy grin that showed off his fangs.
The girl stared for a moment before she finally smiled for the first time since Naruto met her.
A few hours later, Naruto, and the now named, Wendy were looking for a good spot to set up camp now that the sun had gone down. Naruto had caught some fish a while ago and was planning to grill them up as soon as they found a good camp spot. They had just found a small clearing when they both caught a certain scent. Sitting on log on the other side of the clearing was a boy in a loincloth with pink hair and a sad expression with scale-like scarf. He was older than Wendy but still younger than Naruto, probably by a couple years. 'Another one.' Naruto thought.
Suddenly the boy perked up and looked up in excitement before he saw them and frowned again... for maybe a second before he perked up again and was running toward them. Wendy slightly hid behind her new big brother, something she'd been calling Naruto since they started traveling together a few hours earlier. The boy stopped a foot away. "Hey, you guys smell like Igneel! Have you seen him?! Where is he?!" The boy asked loudly.
Naruto dug his pinky into his ear due to the boys volume. "I'm sorry. I don't know any Igneel." He said, causing the boy to deflate. Naruto smiled sadly. "I take it your dragon left too." The pink haired boy looked down sad.
Wendy suddenly left Naruto's side and jogged up to the boy and took his hands. "Then you should come with us to Fairy Tail." She said surprising both boys. "It's like Big Brother said to me. We dragons have to stick together." She said with a cute smile.
The pink haired boy looked shocked while Naruto chuckled as he placed a hand on Wendy's head. "Well I guess that settles that. Your one of us now kid." Naruto said as he smiled his toothy grin while Wendy tried to copy it.
The Pinkette stared at them for a second before he shot them his own toothy grin. "Alright. I'll come along. I'm Natsu Dragneel!" Natsu exclaimed.
"Wendy Marvel." Wendy greeted him.
"I'm Naruto Pyildra. Looks like from now on, it'll be the three of us... at least until we get to Fairy Tail." Naruto said as he placed a hand on Natsu's head as well.
Neither of the 3 mini Dragons knew it, but their fates had been intertwined on this day. They may have lost their parent, but at least they found each other.
"Soooo..." Natsu started. "What's Fairy Tail?"
-00000-
"According to the map, this is Fairy Tail." Naruto answered.
After a week of traveling, the 3 dragon siblings had finally made it to Magnolia. It had been quite a surprise to all three of them to see a city so big and so full of people. A quick look at the map and they suddenly found themselves in front of a large building near the edge of town.
"This must be the place." Natsu commented from Naruto's right.
"So this is going to be our new home right?" Wendy asked from her place on Naruto's back.
"Depending on how this goes, there's a good chance." Naruto answered. "One way to find out." He said as he raised a hand to open the door.

Welp, that's that. The first chapter of my new story. I hope you guys like it.
So some obvious changes to canon right off the back. For starters, Wendy is joining much earlier than canon, having been found by Naruto rather than Edo Jellal/Mystogon. Plus Natsu was found by Naruto and Wendy rather Makarov. What changes could these three cause in the guild? Not much right, I mean there's only seven years before we reach story canon, it's not like 7 years can make a huge difference right..? Right.
Anyway. I'm tired. I'll let you guys...
