"Are you feeling better Q?" Santana asked as she made her way into the kitchen the next morning.

Quinn was sitting at the kitchen bench, large glass of water in front of her and her weakness, the trashy tabloid she had delivered to their apartment daily.

"Yeah, a bit. Thanks for holding my hair back last night and making sure I was alright. San...I'm sorry," she hesitated after turning the page in the magazine she was reading.

"Don't be sorry Quinn. Your drink was spiked. I would've been upset if you hadn't called for me."

"Uh no...not that." Those words and the awkward tone of Quinn's voice were enough for Santana to stop what she was doing and head to where Quinn sat.

Quinn hadn't removed her eyes from the magazine so Santana took that as her prompt to read over the blonde's shoulder. It was a double page spread of Dani, and judging by the outfit it was from last night. Santana's interest was piqued now. As she often did she read out loud.

"New star on the horizon Dani Harper attended New York club opening last night. While Miss Harper recently gave an interview where she stated there was no special guy in her life it seemed there were numerous special guys on the scene last night. The starlet was seen in the club's VIP section drinking up a storm with a group before stumbling out at 3am in the arms of an unidentified companion."

Santana bit back tears as she finished reading the article. The paparazzi had managed to take a few photos of Dani's exit too, and while they weren't very clear, Santana knew it was most definitely her girlfriend.

"San..." Quinn cooed as she put a hand reassuringly on Santana's. "Sit down, let me get you some coffee."

Santana didn't have the energy to argue. She slumped into the seat and let Quinn fuss over her.

Both girls looked up from the kitchen counter when they heard the doorknob turn. Not expecting any visitors at this hour Quinn cautiously made her way to the door, leaving Santana in her sulking state behind her. The figure came into view and when Quinn recognized the visitor as Dani she visibly relaxed, before remembering the morning's commotion and what would ensue if Santana saw Dani.

"Hey Dani now isn't really a good time," Quinn said blocking Dani.

Dani eyed Quinn curiously, never before had Quinn had a problem with her being around. She dodged Quinn to see what was going on and her heart broke when her eyes landed on a visibly shaken and crying Santana. Dani grew concerned and then mad, whoever or whatever had made Santana so upset would have to pay, no one made her baby cry like that.

"What's wrong San?" Dani asked.

Santana raised her eyes to meet Dani and all Dani saw was coldness reflected in them.

"Oh like you don't know," she hissed at her.

"I'm confused..." Dani said looking to Quinn for an explanation. Quinn refused to get involved, instead hanging back if Santana needed her.

"NO I'm the one that deserves to be confused," Santana shouted, tipping her chair back as she stood, "Why go to the trouble of patching things up when you have other people you could crawl back to?" She spat out as she threw the magazine at Dani. Dani caught it and was eager to see what had the Latina so fired up. As her eyes registered what exactly was being insinuated with the pictures a look of hurt flashed across her face. She wanted to tell Santana to trust her, that she hadn't cheated, but Santana hadn't given her a chance to say anything. "I can't believe I was so stupid! Alert the media on this one, Santana Lopez the girl foolish enough to fall for Dani Harper! I can't believe I thought you were different. You're not. You made me love you and then you broke me. You broke us!"

Dani felt shaken, her body betraying her as she broke down. Surely this wasn't happening, surely her relationship wasn't over. But by the look on her girlfriend's face Santana clearly thought it was. Santana screamed for Dani to get out, and when Dani didn't, willing to fight this through, Santana threw her hands up in frustration and left the apartment herself. She was still dressed in her pajamas and had no money or phone with her but she had to get out of that place. As she exited the apartment building and made it to the street she leaned against the brick wall, taking as big of breaths as she could muster as the sobs overtook her.

"Do I go?" A shaken Dani asked Quinn amidst the silence that now resonated in the small apartment.

"I'd give her some space. It's hard to reason with her when she's this angry."

"I really screwed up didn't I?" Dani asked, hoping Quinn would argue with her.

"You tell me, did you?"

"I didn't cheat if that's what you mean Quinn. I would never. I LOVE her. I did drink too much that night though, that was my first mistake. Getting into the cab with that guy was my second. But as soon as he made a move on me I realized what was going on. In that split second it was like I sobered up completely and all I wanted to do was run into Santana's arms. I didn't want her to see me like that though, all drunk and pathetic, so I went home...alone."

"Okay," Quinn said nodding. "Well in that case you can still fix this. If that's what you want..."

"Of course it is. I can't live without her. Just tell me what to do and I'll do it."

"I've known San long enough to know she won't listen unless you make her, you're going to have to do this big Dani, give her no choice."

Dani nodded attentively, making mental notes of anything and everything she could do to win Santana's trust and love back. Her heart ached for her already.
