Y: So? How was the unpacking?
A: Is that a serious question?
A: It's moving with a teenager with no stamina. It's a fucking pain. What do you want?
Y: Youch! Alright, grumpy!
Y: You worried about the test tomorrow? Your boy's gonna be front a center!
A: I'm aware.
Y: You know that didn't answer anything… You really are worried!
A: Don't you have a job? Go away.
Y: Tch. I'm in between. Anyways! Nemuri and I can come visit tomorrow before the meet if you want. She's been asking about the glow worm anyways.
A: I don't care, do what you want.
Y: Have you told Rin?
A: No
A: She just started sleeping through the night, I'm not adding more stress. Leave her be. Nedzu agreed to observe me after the meet.
Y: Oh? I'd say that was nice, but I'm still pissed about his little hospital stunt.
A: He hired the therapist I wanted, and half my class now has mandatory therapy. I wouldn't repeat that mess, but I won't say he hasn't tried to repay it.
Y: Mandatory therapy? Who'd you pick, the foreigner?
Y: You did really like her. But I still don't get why you didn't just go with Hound Dog. Couldn't he have done it from the beginning?
A: No. He's not equipped for long-term recovery. Apparently, there's a difference between psychiatrists, therapists, and counselors. He specializes in anxiety, stress management, and academic advice, plus he's already got a full workload. No one expected an entire class to start their first week with PTSD, much less the amount of trauma Rin comes with.
Y: I guess when you put it like that, it makes sense.
A: I need to fix dinner.
Y: Awe! Look at you being all domestic!
A: Shut up.
.
.
.
Y: Oh man, I gotta know! What was she doing that made her sound so guilty?
A: …
A: Really?
Y: Oh hell yeah!
A: She was in my room.
Y: Hah! Look at her trying to be sneaky, she's such a little kid. We're gonna have to work on that lying though, like she can't be sounding that obvious in the field, that's a problem.
A: I'm more concerned about the random scribbles thrown all across her room. I'm fairly sure she covered about fifty pages in questions or feelings about her brother.
Y: She did what?
A: I found it when I sent her to bed, her floor's littered with paper. She's obsessing over him.
Y: Well, I mean, at least she's getting it out in a healthy manner? She's not scratching or hurting herself, right?
A: Sure.
Y: For a man whose children both passed, you are entirely too depressed. Dude, cheer up!
A: *middle finger gif*
Y: Yeah, yeah… Tell my glow worm I miss her!
A: No. Come tell her yourself.
.
.
.
A: Can you take Rin to her first therapy session?
Y: Me? You don't wanna take her? Maybe get a little therapy yourself?
A: No.
Y: But don't you know you wanna bonnnndddddd!
A: It's a yes or a no.
A: If not, I'll ask Nemuri.
Y: Fine! Fine! I'll take her!
Y: I think you're avoiding it cause *someone* suggested family therapy.
A: I don't care what you think. The appointment is at 9.
.
.
.
A: This is ridiculous. Rin's obsession with her brothers is borderline manic.
A: She's spent hours looking them up. I just had to block the quirkless database and her brothers' names from her phone's internet because she's spent almost twelve hours this week obsessing over them. I checked the usage report, that's almost triple the amount of time she spends texting her classmates.
Y: Oh shit…
Y: You gonna say something?
A: I've already emailed the therapist. She said she'd talk to her at their next appointment. I had to email her about Midoriya anyways.
Y: Midoriya? What's wrong with him?
A: Nothing, now. All Might conveniently forgot to mention he was a late bloomer.
Y: Late bloomer?
Y: Why would that matter?
A: Because the kid's quirk didn't come in until middle school.
Y: Wait, what? Seriously?
Y: Man! And he learned to control it that quickly? That's impressive!
A: Yes, until you realize that his name was in the quirkless database for 7+ years before that. And considering the kind of general prejudices against that group, it explains his ridiculous willingness to break bones. It puts the Midoriya/Bakugou rivalry in a new light too.
Y: Oh. Shit.
Y: You think he was bullied?
A: Obviously
Y: Heh, problem children everywhere, huh?
A: Yes.
.
.
.
Y: SHE PASSED!
A: I know.
Y: C'mon man! Give me more than that! How'd she do? She didn't flake out again did she? Tell me it wasn't another Sports Festival!
A: It wasn't another Sports festival.
Y: …
Y: You're not funny.
A: Says you.
A: She did well. She was one of the first to get through the first round. Joke was here with second years that tried to take her on headfirst. She forced them to scatter everyone, even their own.
Y: Oh shit! Go Glowy!
A: That nickname is ridiculous.
Y: Yeah, yeah! So? What happened next? How did the others do?
A: Her and Hagakure were the first two through in the top ten. The others all made it through at the last minute. The second part was a rescue relief, only they had villains attack in the middle of rescue efforts.
Y: Damn! They weren't making it easy!
A: There's talk that the commission is concerned with All Might's retirement and the rise in villains. Usually they take failures from both rounds that showed promise for remediation, but this time there were only about six or seven and it sounds like Gang Orca volunteered to personally train them with the failures from the other events.
Y: Shit!
Y: Did any of ours fail?
A: Bakugou and Todoroki.
Y: Todoroki? I mean, I get the blonde, but Todoroki surprises me!
A: Him and one of the students from Shiketsu decided to fight in the middle of the exam.
Y: DAMN!
A: They will all be getting extra lessons on rescue efforts. If not for Yaoyorozu, at least four of them would have failed. Rin decided it was a good idea to jump off a cliff with Kirishima without actually telling him. Bakugou lost all of his points yelling at civilians, and several of the others forgot their first aid.
Y: Please tell me they still record them!
A: The copy will be at school by next week.
Y: That's amazing!
.
.
.
A: Rin knows about her mother.
Y: I mean, I'd say good, but really? You couldn't have waited one more day and told her tomorrow? She just got her provisional license!
A: She was already crying when she asked.
Y: Crying? Man, that kid and her mood swings…
A: You don't even know.
Y: How's she taking it?
A: She's not choking on her quirk.
Y: You know that's pretty low bar…
A: Yeah, I'm aware. I emailed the therapist. She wants to meet Monday after school to discuss it.
Y: Ooohhh… Family therapy? 😉
A: No.
.
.
.
Y: So? So?
A: She's recommending medicine.
Y: Oh. Uh, is that really necessary?
A: I don't know.
A: Probably. More than likely.
A: The therapist has had her keeping data on her emotions to set a baseline. She's cycling through emotions constantly all day. They impact her focus, her relationships, and Tulutho thinks they're interfering with her ability to cope. It's not anything new, but it's illogical to allow it to continue, especially if medicine could help.
Y: Right, but I thought you went through this with Recovery Girl? Like those side effects are ridiculous and she's already getting therapy…
A: They don't think the side-effects will last long if she has any, and the therapy isn't a cure-all. I spoke to Shuzenji-san, they're both recommending it.
Y: Oh.
Y: You don't sound sold…
A: I'm not. It's not my choice though. We've given Rin all the information, I'll let her choose.
Y: You know, you're getting pretty good at this.
A: What are you going on about?
Y: You know, the Dad thing.
A: Whatever. Don't forget you promised her takeout tomorrow.
