Thank you to everyone who has favorited, followed or reviewed this fic so far.

I hate my brain now, since it wanted to expand my Smallville/Highlander one-shot, so here we go with more. Might have to change some tags too.

Thank you to Brainstorm Sorcerer, Marcus S. Lazarus, gammaxmen80 and Michael Weyer for some suggestions.

Enjoy.

Chapter 2- Unexpected savior

The eyes of Lionel Luthor opened as he found himself in a dark room. It had clearly been a while since the mess at the damn.

He turned to see a middle-aged woman looking down on him.

"You decided to join us."

Weak and with a hoarse voice, Lionel managed to let out a cry for a certain fluid his body needed in this situation. "Water."

The woman seemed to agree with his need of water, considering he had been here for a while, unconscious. "Oh, of course. You must be parched."

She brought some water for the man, and Lionel gulped it all greedily, not that anyone could blame him considering the situation that he was in.

Once he was done, he exhaled sharply and asked the two big questions. "Where am I? Who are you?"

The woman chose to answer the second one, and ignore the first. "I'm Marilyn."

Lionel had one more really big question, and he had a feeling he wouldn't get a straight answer to that one.

"Why haven't you taken me to a hospital, Marilyn?"

He didn't get a curvy answer. Rather he got a sarcastic response.

"Wow. Not even a "thank you" before you start asking for silk sheets."

She walked to the other side of the room as Lionel tried to get up but felt a pain in his right hand. "Aah! What is ... I ..." He grunted and removed the bedsheets, his eyes widening in horror to see that his right hand was trapped in a bear trap of all things. In that moment, he knew there was nothing idle about this situation at all.

"What the hell is this?" Lionel demanded before ordering the woman. "You unlock it, Marilyn."

Marilyn now revealed she knew more than she had let on before. "You know I can't run that risk. Not even for Lionel Luthor."

Considering she knew who he was, Lionel thought he could scare her off with threats and boasts of how big a man he truly was.

"They're gonna find me, Marilyn. It's only a matter of time, you know."

Unfortunately for the Luthor patriarch, Marilyn wasn't too concerned about it, as she revealed in her next response.

"As far as I know, there's not a lot of people looking. Maybe it's time you found some better friends."

And then came unexpected deliverance for the emissary of Jor-El.

"I think he does have them."

Marilyn turned to see a tall man of about 6 feet standing there, wearing a coat over his black shirt. He looked young and handsome, but there was something about his eyes that terrified the crazy woman.

Lionel's eyes widened in recognition at who it was.

Before Marilyn could react, the man decked her hard, knocking her out right there, and then he turned to Lionel.

"What? You were expecting your Traveller? Sorry to disappoint", the man quipped as he walked to where the bear trap was, and pushing both the springs down, he freed Lionel's hand, making him gasp as he felt the blood flow return there, and after about two minutes, he sighed in relief, getting used to the sensation of his hand again.

"Mr. Pierson, I didn't expect to see you here", Lionel said, looking his savior up and down.

Deep down, 'Mr. Pierson' felt slightly smug that Lionel still thought him to be Adam Pierson, an expert Watcher, rather than who he truly was. And he planned to keep the charade up.

If there was one thing Methos was good at, it was surviving, and he was going to keep his record at that unstained.

"And I didn't expect to see you in this position, Mr. Luthor", Methos quipped as Lionel sighed.

"Things at the damn got too out of hand", Lionel said as Methos got up, getting some ropes, then pulled in a chair and picking up Marilyn, dragged her to it, tying her up.

"I heard, I do keep up with the happenings in this strange town, to see if what you and Mr. Swann used to say back in the day has any merit", Methos commented as he finished tying the insane woman up.

"And?" Lionel asked, wondering if this cynical man had found some hope after all. The reply still surprised him.

"I think it does", Methos said as he turned to look at Lionel. "Your Traveller does exist, based on all of these strange occurrences that I have heard about."

"Must be fun being proven wrong, huh?" Lionel asked, finally having the strength to stand up.

"Yes, learning is what I am always here for, not right, not wrong, but knowledge, because that is true power Mr. Luthor", Methos said, walking closer to him. "So, Clark Kent, hmmm?"

Lionel's eyes widened in surprise at the fact that Methos knew who the Traveller was. He wasn't going to tell him unless Clark gave him the green light, but this man already knew, that was strange.

"How?" Lionel asked.

"Every time something strange in this town happens, it is Clark Kent who is there, and then the day is saved, others may not put it together, but I can", Methos told Lionel. "So, you know him, right?"

"I do, and yes, it is him", Lionel confessed with a sigh and nod. "But I don't think he would like someone he doesn't know knowing that."

"You didn't tell me, so I believe you have nothing to fear, unless you did something else to him", Methos commented as he looked at the tied up Marilyn.

"Not recently, no", Lionel shook his head.

"So, who do you think hired her to keep you captive here?" Methos then inquired.

"Could be my son, or someone else", Lionel confessed. "Many do hold a grudge against me."

"I believe we will find out who sent her soon enough", Methos said, handing Lionel a page with a number on it. "Call me on this, no one can trace it, make sure no one can trace it to you either, and we will talk. In the meantime, I think you should go and stop the search they have out for you by yourself."

"Thank you, Mr. Pierson", Lionel held out his hand gratefully as Methos shook it.

Lionel started walking out, then stopped and turned around with a final question.

"What will you do till we get in contact again?" Lionel asked Methos.

"Ensure that nothing holds the Traveller back and he embraces his destiny", Methos said, looking at the knocked out Marilyn in such a way that even Lionel felt a chill run up his spine.

"All right, we shall meet soon enough", Lionel said, then walked out, realizing that something was about to happen, something big and great, and 'Mr. Pierson' would have a role to play in making it happen.

There you go. Now I am not promising any fast updates or anything, but I have some thoughts for where to take this. Basically expose Lana's BS early so Clark sees her for who she is, and also expose Lex, and make Clark embrace his destiny early, plus I also need to find some more role for Connor and Duncan.

But in the meantime, I hope you enjoyed this little snippet. See you all next time with another chapter, whenever it comes.
