And here goes some more.

Chapter 5- Fixing things

Lionel was working when he felt a 'whooshing' sound and looked up to see Zor-El standing there.

"Jor-El's vessel. You can't hide your identity. The crystals led me right to you", Zor-El picked up Lionel and slammed him onto the table, his hand on the man's throat. "As his emissary, you speak on Jor-El's behalf. Lara and her son will listen to you. You must convince them to heed my words."

Lionel hoarsely told him in defiance. "Your words won't help you here, Zor-El."

Zor-El tossed Lionel away, shattering a glass table. Lionel tried to crawl away but was wounded and weakened as Zor-El taunted. "Just as stubborn as my brother. Soon you could be just as dead. If you value your life, tell Kal-El to trust his uncle. You'll be better off in the end."

Lionel wasn't going to let this Kryptonian ruin all the hard work he and 'Adam Pierson' had done. "Kal-El is following his own destiny. I will do nothing to stop his course."

Zor-El was about to attack again when Clark sped in and punched him hard, sending him flying out while shattering a window.

A second later, Clark saw a blur flying up and knew it was Zor-El.

Clark turned to Lionel who held up the paper with 'Pierson's' number meekly.

"What's this?" Clark asked.

"Call…on this number…" Lionel said hoarsely. "This person…knows…by himself. Kryptonian is looking for a woman called Lara."

He then passed out as Clark took the paper with the number and then called the ambulance first to make sure Lionel got the medical care he needed.

Queen Tower

Clark brought Lara to the place, assuring she would be safe there, and he had called the guy Lionel had asked him to call.

"I heard you called me."

Clark turned to see Methos standing there and was enraged on recognizing him, or at least he thought he recognized him.

"You…." Clark sped at Methos and grabbed his collar, pinning him to the wall. "You…Lionel told you who I was? How do you know?"

"You think I'm Marcus Becker? I'm not, but I can explain how we look the same", Methos assured Clark, and having carefully considered it all, decided to tell Clark the truth. "I am Methos, I am an Immortal."

Clark was surprised to meet one more Immortal as he let Methos go. "What? You're.."

"Formerly second-oldest, now with Savage dead I am the oldest", Methos told Clark, straightening his collar. "As for Marcus Becker, I made him get some plastic surgery and have a face similar to mine so he can distract others from me, but then he became a loan shark, which was not what I had intended."

"So, Lionel knows you", Clark noted.

"He does not know who I really am, to him I am Adam Pierson, a former Watcher, which happens to be an organization that keeps tabs on Immortals", Methos told Clark. "Anyway, I have been working with Lionel for a while. I am the one who exposed both Lana and Lex."

"What? That was all you?" Clark asked, surprised to hear that. "I thought it was Lio-"

"He did help me, but I asked him to take all credit till you and I are ready to meet, and this is the right opportunity, Kal-El", Methos said, tapping Clark's shoulder. "I am honored to be of service to you."

"Why are you doing all this?" Clark asked.

"Because I know you are destined to be something great, and I want you to reach it, and save the world, help everyone, is that not what you want?" Methos inquired to Clark, who looked thoughtful.

"I do want to help people", Clark confessed to Methos. "All the people who cry out for help, I want them to know that there is hope, there is light. I may not have been able to save Lex and Lana from their inner darkness, but I will save other people when they need me to."

"Now that's the spirit", Methos smirked. "So, the problem right now is-"

"Zor-El", Clark said as Methos nodded.

"Right, well, we need to take him out quickly", Methos told Clark.

"How though?" Clark wondered.

"Two of my associates came here a few weeks ago, let's just say their Quickenings, they are unique due to various reasons", Methos revealed as Clark realized who he spoke of.

"Duncan and Connor, you know them", Clark said as Methos nodded.

"Right, I know them, and they can help you", Methos said to Clark. "If you have any way of contacting them, please do so right now, their help is what you need quickly if you are to stop Zor-El."

Connor and Duncan were in a forest. Savage's Quickening had made Duncan really powerful after being added to his own, and utilizing it, Duncan had managed to increase his strength, speed and durability to superhuman levels.

Connor too had a powerful Quickening due to having been combined with the Kurgan, and training alongside Duncan to utilize it, he too had grown quite powerful.

Their swords now literally glowed with energy like they were lightsabers, and swinging them alone was enough to cause a small wind.

Though they kept this energy to a low when fighting other Immortals to make it fair, this powerful Quickening was to fight greater threats.

Then Connor's phone rang and he picked it up. "Yes, ah, right, Clark. How do you- You need our help. Well then, pick us up from here, we're not too far, just in the forest north of Smallville. Yeah."

Connor put the phone down as Duncan asked. "So he needs our help?"

"Yeah", Connor confirmed with a nod. "Its important, and he is coming to take us."

In that moment, Clark sped to them in a blur and took them both away to Queen Tower where they saw Methos standing there.

"Ah, Methos, did not expect to see you here", Duncan commented as he and Methos embraced.

"Well, I have my reasons for being here, and Clark knows about me too", Methos told Duncan while shaking hands with Connor as well.

"What would those reasons be?" Connor asked.

"Oh he has helped me quite a lot without me realizing till now", Clark told those two. "But anyway, I called you here because-"

"Wait, Kal-El", Lara said as she arrived and started giving her blue victory ring to him. "I want you to have this-"

"Wait!" Methos held up a hand as she stopped. "Don't give it to him."

"Why?" Lara asked. "It is a symbol for-"

"I know it's the symbol for victory, but here it takes away a Kryptonian's powers, if Kal-El wears it, he will lose all powers", Methos warned as Lara realized what that meant and put it away. "Zor-El must have wanted you to give it to him to make Kal powerless."

"So that he can fulfil his plan without any issues", Clark realized.

"Forgive me, Kal-El, I did not mean to-"

"It is not your fault, mother, it is all Zor-El's fault", Clark assured her as he put a hand on her shoulder and they shared a smile.

"Well, wherever he is let's teach him a lesson", Duncan said with a smirk while stretching.

Clark faced Zor-El and told him. "I'd never join you."

Before Zor-El could respond, Connor and Duncan appeared, holding their swords.

"Two humans, you think they pose a threat to me?" Zor-El asked mockingly.

"We are not just humans", Connor said as his and Duncan's swords glowed like lightsabers.

"We are Immortal", Duncan finished.

Connor charged Zor-El with a slice that Zor-El dodged, but he was surprised by Connor's speed rivalling his.

Duncan charged as Zor-El dodged again, and then he tried to punch as Connor blocked.

Both of them had used their Quickenings to reach superhuman level, and now they could rival even Kryptonians.

Duncan used the opportunity to leap and flip kick Zor-El, sending him staggering away. Zor-El recovered and punched Duncan back as Connor charged with his sword and swung it a few times, Zor-El dodging but a car in the way being destroyed into bits.

Zor-El then tried to attack as Connor managed to avoid by side-stepping and then Clark sped at Zor-El, kneeing his gut and punching his face, creating a shockwave as Zor-El staggered away, and Duncan charged back in, spin kicking Zor-El twice before elbowing his face in a spin motion, and with a leap, kicked him away.

Zor-El staggered back up as Connor charged, swinging, which he dodged, then smacked Connor away but was punched by Clark as Connor came back in and decked him twice, before Duncan ran up the wall and spinning, kicked Zor-El's face, sending him flying off and falling down once more.

He got up as Duncan tried to strike with his sword but Zor-El grabbed his hand, both of them struggling, before Connor leapt in with a strike of his own as Zor-El barely avoided, having to let go of Duncan, and both of them faced him once more, swinging their swords.

Zor-El tried to spin kick them both as Connor jumped back to avoid while Duncan just ducked, and that allowed Clark to speed in and ram Zor-El into a car, breaking it as Clark punched his face a few times, making him bleed, before Zor-El pushed him off.

Duncan then kicked him back into the car and tried to kick him again but Zor-El grabbed his foot and threw him away, before rolling to avoid being stabbed by Connor, who broke the car's hood instead, as Zor-El then punched him away too.

He then tried to stomp on Duncan who rolled away to avoid and with a flip, got up while kicking Zor-El's face who staggered back, groaning, and then Clark grabbed him from behind in a chokehold as both of them struggled.

Duncan was about to stab Zor-El in a non fatal area but he leapt and kicked Duncan away while freeing his neck from Clark and threw him into Duncan, sending both of them down once more.

Connor then tried to slice from behind as Zor-El ducked to avoid and turned around, avoiding another swing, then grabbed Connor's hand, as the two of them struggled with gritted teeth.

Connor then leaned in and head-butted Zor-El, dazing him as he snatched his sword back and tried to stab but Zor-El side-stepped to avoid in time and elbowed Connor's face, sending him back, before Clark grabbed him from behind and slammed him down onto the ground, breaking it as he continued to do it.

Zor-El eventually pushed back as Clark was thrown off, and he swept Clark's feet from under him before getting up and dodging a swing from Duncan's sword, and then he tried to punch Duncan who easily dodged.

Duncan dodged one more blow, then Zor-El fired his own Heat Vision as Duncan put his sword in the way to block, gritting his teeth.

He moved forth, holding back the Heat Vision and blocking it, and then Clark got up, putting his hand on Zor-El's eyes as he gritted his teeth, and punched Zor-El's abdomen too.

Zor-El roared and threw Clark off before turning to Duncan, but then Connor stabbed him from the side, making him gasp in pain, and using the opportunity, Duncan stabbed him from the other side, making him gasp again as their swords crossed while going through his sides.

They pulled out as the weakened Zor-El staggered and then Clark leapt before punching his face hard, finally knocking Zor-El out.

"Its done", Clark sighed, panting as all three of them supported each other. "We did it, thank you for your help."

"Not a problem, Clark", Connor assured him.

Later, Clark had destroyed the crystal reluctantly, making both Zor-El and Lara disappear, and had realized Kara had been tricked as well.

Now he stood on the rooftop, looking down when Methos walked up next to him.

"How are you holding up?" Methos inquired.

"My mother", Clark sighed sadly. "I always wanted to see what she was like, now I saw her, she was…she was amazing, I didn't want to let her go but-"

"You had to", Methos noted, sympathizing with him as he had to let go of people A LOT! And because of that he had stopped trying to make many connections as well. "It was hard, I understand, she was someone you loved after all."

"Yeah", Clark sighed. "But-"

"But you realize you have to move past it now", Methos muttered and Clark gave a nod at that.

"Both my parents, they wanted a lot from me, they sent me here to be a symbol of hope for these people", Clark confessed to Methos. "And I've been trying, but its been hard, Clark Kent cannot save the whole world by himself."

"Maybe the whole world does not need you to be Clark Kent", Methos suggested to Clark. "Perhaps the world needs you to be something else."

"Like what?" Clark wondered.

"Clark Kent may have powers, but he is still a man at day's end, if not a human man", Methos pointed out, and Clark conceded there. "But if you make yourself more than just a man, if you devote yourself to an ideal, then you become something else entirely: a legend."

"An ideal", Clark muttered. "Like, a symbol for hope, a beacon."

"That's what I was thinking myself", Methos said, tapping Clark's shoulder. "How you go about it is up to you, but I know you will do good."

Walking off, Methos said. "But I am always here for you if you need my help."

Clark followed him to where Connor and Duncan stood as the latter said. "Well, we're going for now, but like before, you can always call on us if needed."

"Yes, and we shall call on you too if needed", Connor added as Clark smiled.

"Thanks again", he said, shaking hands with both of them as they then walked off.

"Where will you go, Methos?" Duncan asked Methos.

"I have some places to crash to", Methos said with a shrug as he walked off.

Clark knew he still had a path ahead of him, but he felt much less scared of it than before, and knew he was ready to run that path now.

Methos continued to stay in touch with Lionel as they studied all the texts of the Veritas journals together, and Methos found out about Davis Bloome, who was destined to be the Kryptonian Destroyer.

So Methos tracked him down and killed him by decapitation, telling Lionel what Clark didn't know wouldn't hurt him, and they contacted John Jones to dump the body into the sun just to be sure, though going close made him lose his powers so he became a detective instead.

Without the stress of Lex, Davis or Lana, Clark had ample of time to train himself at the Fortress of Solitude, and become who he was meant to be.

During this time, he and Lois also realized their feelings for each other and became a couple, and it ended up in a double wedding with Chloe and Jimmy, who was also let in about Clark's secret later.

Clark joined Oliver's team as well which came to be called as Justice League and consisted of Clark, Oliver, his wife Dinah Lance aka Black Canary, Bart, Kara, Victor, AC and Chloe. Lionel hired Tess Mercer to be a liaison between the team and himself.

They also encountered the JSA who were up against an organization called Checkmate, and during this adventures Jones' powers were returned by Doctor Fate, while Methos reached out to Tess and the two of them together managed to outplay even Amanda Waller.

Connor and Duncan eventually became members of the Justice League as well, with John Jones too joining properly due to having all his powers back. Duncan and Kara managed to hit it off and became a couple.

Tess was smitten with Methos since day one, and eventually, Methos let her break down some of his walls and started a relationship with her, deciding to stick around a bit more.

Lionel also decided to remain in contact with Joe Dawson, who also used some resources of his to help out.

And together, all of them managed to change the world for the better.

Hope the battle with Zor-El was enjoyed. Connor and Duncan have now used their Quickenings to grow really powerful to the point they can go toe-to-toe with aliens, they are about Wonder Woman level here.

And there you go, with these new characters added, a lot of messes are prevented, allowing Clark to be Superman and get with Lois earlier.

Now I love Oliver/Chloe A LOT! In pretty much all of my Smallville fics, Clark/Lois and Oliver/Chloe are staples.

But I feel in a world where the Davis mess hadn't driven Chloe and Jimmy apart, they could have ended up together permanently, even if I like Oliver/Chloe more. And Oliver and Dinah did have a decent dynamic here so I could see them together.

Methos/Tess can be an interesting pairing IMO. Now while this story is over, if I ever write another Smallville/Highlander crossover and plan it better, I'll do a proper Methos/Tess pairing in that one.

So while a bit rushed, hope all enjoyed how I did it still, and that it made sense. This is my first proper Smallville story that has more than one chapter and takes place DURING the show rather than AFTER it.

As for Methos killing Bloome without letting Clark know, its in-character for him.

Thank you to everyone who favorited, followed or reviewed this fic or supported me in any way while I wrote it, and also those who helped me a bit with it, the support means a lot.

Until next time.
