Meeting Of Fists And Cupcakes.
Vi was spending some time alone. They were still waiting for other members of the team to join them, before they could finally get back out there as do some good again. But I hadn't forgotten the life she had to leave behind in order to rejoin Overwatch. She was holding a picture of her beautiful wife, Caitlyn, who she had also nicknamed, Cupcake, for two obvious reasons. Caitlyn hated that nickname, but Vi always enjoyed calling her that just to mess with her. She looked cute when she was angry. Vi could still remember how they met and fell in love. It wasn't a very smooth ride, but damn was it worth it.
"We had some good times, Cupcake" Vi said with a chuckle.
She leans back and closes her eyes as she remembers her life with Caitlyn.
Flash Back.
A few months had passed since Overwatch was forcefully shut down, and any hero work was declared illegal. And for a former member like Vi, who loved her life with Overwatch, this was a massive dump on her life. She's been having trouble finding a job, and the remaining money she had from her time with Overwatch wasn't going to last much longer. She sighs in annoyance. Damn all the ungrateful people who forced Overwatch to disband. After everything Overwatch did for them, this is how the people shows their thanks? Shows no matter how many times you succeed, a single failure is all it takes to make everyone forget about all the good you did and only focus on the bad.
"Well fuck them! They never deserved our protection anyway!" Vi said angrily as she punched a wall, hard enough to crack it "Shit...".
She sighed as she kept walking. Suddenly she heard someone speak. She looked and saw several thugs cornering a woman. They said some nasty things, so it was easy to know what they wanted to do to her. Vi looks at the scene before turning away. It had nothing to do with her, so why should she care? She would only get in to trouble for trying to do the right thing. So why would she risk her neck for someone who probably wouldn't even appreciate it...?
"Damn it..." Vi said with a sigh as she headed back to the scene. Curse her new noble intentions, Overwatch really had made her soft.
"Last warning, leave me alone or you will be in serious trouble" The woman said with no hint of fear in her tone.
"You sure are feisty, lady. I like women with some bite. Come on, we can rock your world" One the thugs said in a gross tone.
"Hey, pigs, leave the poor lady alone. You are clearly not her type" Vi said, making the thugs look at her.
"Keep walking, pink head, this doesn't concern you. Besides, we don't like women with muscles" The thug said.
Vi scoffs "Oh please, even a lonely old lady wouldn't settle for your ugly mugs".
The lead thug glared at her "Get this bitch out of here".
One of the other thugs walked towards her "Come on lady, get out of here".
Vi punched him in the face, knocking him out. She punched him so fast he didn't even see her move. And even without her gauntlets, she was more than strong enough to knock someone out cold. The other thugs looked at her in shock as Vi cracked her knuckles and neck.
"I did warn ya. Now you jokers better be ready for the punchline" Vi declared with a smirk.
"Kill her!" The lead thug ordered.
Everyone began attacking Vi who dodged one punch before slugging the thug in the face, knocking him down. She then caught the fist of another before punching him in the chest, knocking the air out of his lungs, before punching him the face to knock him out. Two more thugs attacking her, but Vi kicked one back before laying in to the other. The thug that had been kicked back growled before taking out a knife and was going to attack Vi from behind, but surprisingly, the woman they were harassing earlier, grabbed his arm, twisting it in order to force him to drop his knife, before slamming him face first in to the ground.
Right after he did that, Vi finished of the last thug with several punches to his face. She takes a moment to catch her breath. She hadn't been in a fight for a while now, so she was a little out of shape. But damn did it feel good to punch bad guys again. After making sure the thugs wouldn't get back up, Vi looks at the woman.
"You alright Missy?" She asked, but the woman only gave her a disapproving look "Umm... something wrong?".
"Yes, you are whats wrong. You do know vigilantism is illegal right?" The woman asked.
"Well sorry for saving your sorry butt" Vi said in annoyance, once again someone was ungrateful for her help.
"How cute, you believed I needed saving. You really have no idea who your are talking to, do you?" The Woman asked.
Vi raised an eyebrow "Should I?".
"How about I show you? Punch me" The Woman said.
"What? I'm not going to punch you!" Vi refused.
"Do it. Or are you only brave enough to punch men? And scared of hitting another lady?" The Woman asked with a smirk.
"Ok fine! Just remember, you asked for this!" Vi said as she went to punch the woman.
However, the woman simply stepped to simply step to the side before grabbing Vi's arm and twisting it behind her back. Vi let out a painful sound as she was forced down on one knee, with her arm still being kept in a painful lock, and her other arm couldn't reach anything, making it useless.
"You are strong. But you are far to straight forward in the way you fight. All I had to do was turn your own strength against you, and now you are helpless" The Woman said with a smile.
"Ow ow ow ow ow ow ow ow! Alright alright! You've made your point!" Vi cried out before the woman let go of her "Damn, where did you learn to do that?".
"My parents had me taking self defense classes ever since I was a child. They wanted to make sure I would be able to protect myself. And given my job, I will need it" The Woman answered.
"Your job? Just who are you?" Vi asked.
The Woman held up a badge "The name is Caitlyn, one of the best law enforcers in the city. These punks has been accused of harassing women, I was in the middle of gathering evidence to arrest them" She holds up a recorder "Luckily I managed to trick them in to giving me a recorded confession. Lucky you, or I would've had to arrest you for interfering with my work".
"How was I supposed to know? I mean you look like an everyday lady" Vi argued.
"I was under cover. To be the best hunter, you have to be able to think like your prey" Caitlyn answered.
Vi looks down as she grumbles for a bit... but when she looked back up... she wasn't looking at Caitlyn's beautiful face... she had finally noticed something else, and only one thing was going through her head.
'Damn... her jugs are huge!' Vi said as her eyes were locked on Caitlyn's breasts.
"My eyes are up here" Caitlyn said, sounding annoyed.
"Cool..." Was all Vi said as she kept starring at Caitlyn's breasts.
SMACK!
"Ow!" Vi said as she rubbed her head.
"You are being a creep. Are you trying to make me arrest you?" Caitlyn asked.
"Not my fault you are smocking hot!" Vi said, her tone making it clear what she said was no accident.
Caitlyn blinked "Umm... well I need to call in back up to pick these punks up. After that, we are going to continue our little talk".
"If you say so" Vi said, her eyes slowly returning to Caitlyn's breasts... earning her another smack on the head.
1 hour later, the thugs were in custody and the two women were enjoying a cup of tea. Well, Caitlyn was, Vi was never big on tea, she prefers cofee. Still this was a pretty strange development. They met after beating up some thugs, and now they were drinking tea together. Caitlyn took a sip before setting her cup down.
"Alright, let's cut to the chase. I know who you are. You are Vi, former member of the now disbanded Overwatch" Caitlyn said.
Vi narrowed her eyes "We didn't disband by choice. The ungrateful people we protected forced us to quit".
"Ungrateful? Overwatch enjoyed years of praise from the masses, and even after all those serious crimes Overwatch committed came to light, there are still several museums built around the world to honor all the good you did. So I would hardly call the people ungrateful. And besides, I say their reaction were pretty reasonable, given the questionable stuff Overwatch did, and their secret Blackwatch team" Caitlyn said calmly.
"Get to the point, Cupcake. Are you going to arrest me or what?" Vi demanded.
"First: If you call me cupcake again, you will regret it. Second: I am bound by law and my duty is to arrest anyone who breaks it. But, whether or not I arrest you simply depends on how you answer my next question" Caitlyn said before looking Vi in the eyes "How would you feel about becoming a law enforcer?".
Vi blinks several times "I'm sorry, I'm not sure if I heard you correctly. What did you just say".
"I am not stupid. I know it was unfair to shut Overwatch down after all the years they spent protecting the innocent, regardless of the questionable methods. Sadly, Overwatch activity is illegal now, but it would be a real shame if you couldn't continue to do some more good because of the very law I serve. So instead of arresting you, I am offering you a way to continue doing some good, and allowing you to do it the legal way" Caitlyn explained.
"But... why would you even make this offer?" Vi asked.
Caitlyn smiled "Because I could use a partner who can keep up with me. Everyone else is to slow, and a former Overwatch member could do wonders for the force. So, what do you say?".
Vi thinks about it for several seconds before she looks up "Alright, I'm in. On one condition".
"And that is?" Caitlyn asked.
Vi smirks "You and I will go on a date".
"Say what now?" Caitlyn asked in surprise.
"You are hot and you are tough. I would be stupid not to ask you out. And who knows? Maybe we'll even hook up" Vi answered.
"Well you are bold, I'll give you that. Alright, I guess I can handle a date. You got yourself a deal" Caitlyn said.
Vi smiled "Well, then you just got yourself a new partner, Cupcake".
"I said don't call me that" Caitlyn said in annoyance, hoping she hadn't made a mistake.
1 Year Later.
Vi and Caitlyn had proven to be very effective partners, despite their very different approaches to things. While Caitlyn is very by the books, Vi prefers to follow her instincts, even going so far to abandone a well made plan over a mere hunch... which somehow always worked out pretty well. Only draw backs being Caitlyn's constant headaches whenever she had to cover for Vi's recklessness.
But they always worked it out, and their relationship did grow stronger and they started dating for real. And their love became more and more clear for both of them, they even moved in together. Vi had been thinking about them non stop for a while now... and she felt it was time for the next step. Right now both of them were laying in their bed, naked, after some fun time
"Something wrong, Vi? You look distracted" Caitlyn said.
"Sorry... Caitlyn... do you really love me? I mean really really love me?" Vi asked.
"Of course I do. Sure your antics can be a pain sometimes, but nothing I can't handle. I love you to much for that" Caitlyn answered with no hesitation.
Vi took a deep breath "Then I need to ask you something... something big".
"What?" Caitlyn asked.
Vi took Caitlyn's hands "Caitlyn... will you marry me?".
Caitlyn got wide eyes before smiling warmly "Of course I will you dummy".
Vi smiled back and they kissed each other deeply before Vi spoke "I knew I should've bought that ring... I was just worried you would say no".
"How could I ever say no to you? And don't worry about the ring, we got plenty of time. But for now..." Caitlyn said as she licked her lips.
Vi smirked "Bring it on, Cupcake".
And just like that, the poor bed had to endure more punishment.
End of Flash back.
A tear fell on to the picture, and Vi wiped her eyes. They got married only a month after she proposed. Caitlyn even talked about having kids one day, and that they could use a new method that could made to help lesbian couples having a child without the need of a donor, allowing both women to be blood related to their child. Something about taking Vi's DNA and mixing it up so it could be used to impregnate Caitlyn. Vi didn't understand it all, but they never got the chance to try before Vi received Winston's message.
"I'm sorry, babe... I will be back. I promise" Vi said before she kissed the picture.
She will save the world, and return to have a family with the woman she loves. That is a promise.
