Just wanted to try Connor/Dawn. Honestly, Connor, as a teenager after leaving Quor'toth was just infuriating, since he was just an annoying little jackass that didn't change his tune for the whole Season 4 and there was nothing that would give him a proper character development and don't get me started on the mess with Cordelia, if you change someone's diapers and then bang them, there's a huge issue and it was almost incest, then again, we all know by now what a disgusting piece of trash Whedon is but at least Connor got better in Season 5. While I don't really care much about Connor/Dawn, I can see them work, since they are both the youngest members of their respective groups and are also miracle children, so they can relate to each other. I'm ignoring all the Cordelia/Connor crap and gonna try to portray her more as the mother figure as she was in Season 3.

Disclaimer: I do not own Buffyverse.

Dawn was reading the books about demons and shelving them back, when some of them fell down as she sighed and groaned. "Oh, come on. Really?" She knelt down to pick the books, when Connor entered.

"Hey, need a hand?" Connor offered.

"Thanks." Dawn said.

"Dawn, dinner's ready!" Tara called out.

"I'll be right there!" Dawn said, looking a little annoyed, which Connor noticed.

"Pretty annoying when they still treat you like a kid, is it?" Connor said.

"How would you know? You spent 15 years—"

"I got fake memories implanted in my head too, remember? A whole new reality with normal parents instead of hell." Connor reminded and Dawn blushed.

"Sorry. I… I completely forgot about it." Dawn said, now relating to Connor, more than anyone, since technically, she herself wasn't real but just mystical energy in physical form, but to everyone and herself, she was as real as she could get.

"Don't worry about it." Connor assured. "I've made my peace with it already and I get that…" He took a breath. Even though he had accepted Angel as his father, it felt strange to say it out loud. "…my Dad was just doing what he thought was best for everyone."

"Yeah. Buffy also does what she believes is right, even if it's not the best way for everyone." Dawn said.

"You know what I've learned? That there isn't always the right way. Most time, it's just people trying to do their best, when more than often it's easier for them to do their worst." Connor said and Dawn nodded. She knew far too well what was that like.

"We should go eat." Dawn said.

The group was eating, when they saw Dawn and Connor at their own table, laughing.

"Is it just me or is the nibblet…" Spike trailed off.

"…bonding with Connor? Yeah." Angel said.

"I actually think they can be OK for each other." Willow noted.

"I don't really see a big issue with it either, unless they—" Cordelia started.

"Cordy!" Buffy, Angel, Willow and Tara whirled on her at once as Cordelia shrugged, while the rest, except for Spike, looked uncomfortable at the mental image.

"He hurts her…" Willow started.

"Oh, don't bother thinking what you're gonna do to him, there wouldn't be much for you to deal with, once Angel and I are done with him." Cordelia said.

But as they observed Connor and Dawn, they could see they were happy with each other and as long as they wouldn't hurt each other as they saw Connor and Dawn hold hands as they got up and walked out.

"So, what you want to do next?" Connor asked.

"Oh, I was thinking, maybe we could go to arcade." Dawn said.

"Arcade?" Connor asked. He had grown up killing demons in Quor'toth and in his memories as Connor Reilly, his parents wouldn't really let him near video games very often, so this was a bit new one for him but it was still an amusing idea for him. "As long as it's not a demon killing game, I'm in."

"Sure." Dawn said as they walked out, while Buffy, Spike, Willow, Tara, Angel and Cordelia smiled, glad to see them happy together.

So much wasted potential in comics, instead it got Whedon's wet dream with Xander/Dawn, ew and while Connor got an interesting arc in comics too, there was so much potential for more.

So, what do you guys think?

Please review and let me know if you have enjoyed this one-shot.
