Chapter 14- Power of Three
Cull was thrown down on being hit by Mjolnir as Tony and Pepper started blasting from above while Piper blew a powerful wind to send foes flying off Thor slammed Stormbreaker on the ground and the lightning killed several foes. Hope enlarged and jumped on a foe as M'Baku roared and Hulk threw an opponent away just as Scott punched a Leviathan down.
T'Challa and Okoye took down foes side by side as Shuri blasted them with her blasters. Drax jumped on Cull, who had grabbed Korg, and started stabbing him while Korg knocked him away. Tony and Pepper flew next to each other and blasted all foes around them back to back with their repulsors.
Tyler used fireballs to take out various people as Billie hurled some off with telekinesis, and Leo sliced one down, with Morris and Henry firing their guns around.
Sam used his powers to increase the hear of a Chitauri gorilla, taking it down while Kevin destroyed another with his powers and Phoebe deflected some fired shots, taking down foes as well.
Steve and Thor fought side by side, throwing their weapons as they continued fighting. Thor then grabbed Mjolnir on return as Steve grabbed Stormbreaker.
"No, no. Give me that. You have the little one." Thor said as he tossed Steve Mjolnir and took back Stormbreaker, flying off to fight.
Bucky, Frank and Rocket fired at foes, standing next to each other.
Daredevil spin kicked an Outrider from behind into Elektra who chopped off his head, while Jessica picked two up and threw them off as Luke rammed into a Chitauri gorilla, sending it down.
Danny used his Iron Fist and leapt at another, destroying it while Colleen destroyed one more with her Chi-enhanced katana.
Robbie used his chain to split some foes into two while Mack sliced an outrider with his shotgun-ax before shooting it, and Daisy used her blasts to kill various of them.
Fitz and Simmons fired their special guns as Bobbi hit one Chitauri with her staves, taking it down, while May engaged another and snatching its gun, shot it, and too snatched one's gun and shot that one down too.
Steve used Mjolnir to kill various foes with lightning before slicing some more with Excalibur, and then Paige came next to him as she fired electricity with her trident and punched one more, sending that one flying off.
"Paige?"
Paige turned to look at Piper, Phoebe, Leo, Henry, Sam and Billie all walking to her.
"Oh my…" Paige covered her mouth with her hand, tears in her eyes, and walked to them, raising her shaky hands, before she stroked Piper's and Phoebe's faces, realizing they were real. "You are…"
"We are here", Phoebe assured Paige as Paige hugged her two sisters, crying out as they hugged back and all three overbalanced, falling down to their knees while the others watched with expressions that could only be described as a mix of joy and sadness. "We just appeared, then Sandra sent us lot here. It was sudden and-"
"I missed you", Paige choked out to them.
"We'll never leave you again", Piper assured Paige, kissing her forehead as all three got up, and Paige then hugged her father.
"Dad", she whispered to him.
"Hello Paige", Sam smiled as they kissed each other on the cheeks, happy to see each other once more.
Paige then exchanged hugs with Leo and Henry as well. "Nice to see you guys again."
"Goes both ways", Henry nodded at her.
"Yeah, we're all back", Leo smiled as Paige and Billie shared a nod.
"You know", Morris said as he walked up to them. "I thought I was done with you lot, but this, me being dusted, then coming back and being made to come here by those Elders, yeah, this is beyond us all."
"Nice to see you too, Darryl", Piper told him as he smiled and shared a hug with the three sisters. They may have had their differences at the end but they had always cared about each other.
Besides, while Morris was sure the sisters and Leo had survived due to what he had seen after Zankou's vanquishing, seeing them again with their real faces after all of that was a relief for him.
Piper then noticed Steve wielding both Mjolnir and Excalibur nearby and asked out loud. "Are you wielding Excalibur?"
"Yeah", Steve simply nodded as he bashed one Chitauri gorilla with Mjolnir, then sliced its throat with Excalibur.
"He is a potential Whitelighter AND the reincarnation of King Arthur", Paige revealed to the rest, and their eyes widened with their jaws dropping too.
"Wow!" Billie summed it up for all of them.
"So, he's Captain America, a potential Whitelighter, AND King Arthur's reincarnation?" Phoebe asked and got a nod from Paige. "Well, he does put our reincarnation experiences to same."
"Really? Why?" Steve asked.
"Long stories, we'll tell you later", Phoebe shrugged.
"And he's also worthy of Mjolnir", Leo noted.
"Thought that hammer was destroyed though", Sam said.
"Alternate timeline from the past", Paige explained to him.
"So, he's a lot of things in one, huh?" Piper commented. "Nice."
"Yeah, but most importantly, he's my boyfriend", Paige revealed, and now their jaws dropped again.
"Seriously?" Piper and Phoebe asked simultaneously.
"Yeah, seriously", Paige said with a nod.
"Oh my…..this is…." Phoebe trailed off.
"I think its great, I always thought you deserved the best, now you have Captain America who has all these other qualities too", Henry told Paige with a genuine smile. "I think you've outdone your sisters in terms of partners."
Piper, Phoebe and Leo all shot him looks as he raised his hands. "No offense of course."
"I heard it was originally supposed to go to your son", Steve noted as he held out Excalibur to Piper. "I may be King Arthur's reincarnation, but he has already wielded it, so it should go to him now."
"Thanks", Piper nodded, taking Excalibur from Steve. "You're a unique man, Captain. Keep my sister happy."
"I wouldn't even think of it any other way", Steve told her with a smile before using Mjolnir to fly off and fire some lightning.
"Lucky girl, eh?" Phoebe punched Paige's arm as they shared some laughs.
"This is weirder than anything else before, and I love it", Darryl said as more laughs were exchanged.
"We have our Greek Goddess Powers", Piper noted.
"Yeah, good thing I got them", Paige told the two.
Natasha and Clint ran, avoiding a Chitauri Gorilla when Sam flew into it and with a roar, stabbed it with his wings.
"Cap, what do you want me to do with this damn thing?" Clint asked as he ran.
"Yeah, we're attracting a lot of attention, not the good kind", Natasha added as she used Widow's Bite to take out a foe nearby.
Steve threw Mjolnir at some foes and fighting an Outrider said, "Get those Stones as far away as possible!"
He recalled Mjolnir and ended the Outrider, throwing it into Hulk who knocked it away with his hand.
He let out a roar, then said in Bruce's voice. "No! We need to get them back where they came from."
"No way to get them back. Thanos destroyed the quantum tunnel." Tony pointed out as he blasted down from above.
Scott shrank to normal size and said, "Hold on! That wasn't our only time machine."
Then he pressed a button and the horn of Luis' van was heard.
"Anyone see an ugly brown van out there?" Steve asked.
"Yes!" Valkyrie said as she flew on Aragorn, "But you're not gonna like where it's parked."
It was on some destroyed rubble between foes.
"Scott, how long you need to get that thing working?" Tony asked him.
"Maybe ten minutes." Scott said as Hope enlarged next to him.
"Get it started. We'll get the Stones to you." Steve ordered.
"We're on it, Cap." Hope assured as she and Scott shared a knowing smile.
The two shrunk as Hope flew Scott away.
Valkyrie came down on Aragorn and used her sword to slice two Chitauri gorillas as Freyja leapt and stabbed one through the throat.
Freyja then looked at Valkyrie. "A Valkyrie, an Asgardian one."
"I've heard of you lot, named yourselves after us, didn't you?" Valkyrie asked and Freyja nodded.
"We were inspired by the Asgardian Elite, it is an honor to meet one in person", Freyja said and gave a bow, and Valkyrie bowed back respectfully.
Strange flew and opened numerous chasms in Earth, producing purple tendrils of energy that forcefully lifted up Thanos' minions and dragged them into the ground before resealing and vanishing.
He turned to see Tony land behind him and open his visor, "Hey. You said one out of 14 million, we win, yeah? Tell me this is it."
The Charmed Ones arrived nearby at the same time as Strange said. "If I say what happens, it won't happen."
"You better be right." Tony told him and flew off.
"Charmed Ones", Strange greeted as he turned to them. "Honored to meet you."
"Same here, Sorcerer Supreme", Piper spoke for them as they nodded at each other, then Strange fired some Eldritch magic at Phoebe who deviated it at a Leviathan, destroying it.
He then held out his hands as Paige fired lightning and Piper fired some wind, and Strange manipulated it all with his powers and hurled them out, destroying a huge chunk of the army before all four created a giant force field together and expanded it outwards, getting even more of the enemy army.
Hope flew Scott to the van and they enlarged as she said, "It's a mess back here."
Scott pressed some buttons and said, "It's... it's dead."
"What?" She asked.
"It's dead." Scott said before pulling out wires, "I have to hotwire it."
Thanos struck down a Master of the Mystic Arts with Thanoscopter and asked Glaive, "Where's Nebula?"
Glaive killed an Asgardian and said, "She's not responding."
"Sire!" Maw pointed at Natasha and Clint, who were running while killing enemies and shooting Widow's Bite and explosives respectively.
T'Challa then jumped to the ground and his suit discharged kinetic energy, taking many foes down.
"Clint!" He said as he walked to Clint and opened his visor, "Give it to me."
Clint gave it to him and he ran, kicking away a foe before flipping and knocking another down and then kicked two away. He then ran and leaping up, punched the ground, discharging more kinetic energy to take down foes.
Then the Thanoscopter flew at him, knocking him down as Thanos caught it on return while the Gauntlet fell away. As he charged at T'Challa, Wanda jumped in his way.
Her eyes glowing red, she declared with venom in her voice, "You took everything from me."
"I don't even know who you are." Thanos said as he charged.
"You will." Wanda promised and flew into the air, raising huge columns of debris with her. She threw two of the columns at Thanos who chopped them with his sword before she jumped down and fired at him twice, making him drop his sword as he tried to defend himself. He picked his sword again to defend as she walked closer, firing at him.
T'Challa ran to the Gauntlet when Maw lifted it up with telekinesis along with rocks. T'Challa jumped to grab it but was lifted too when Peter swung to get it.
T'Challa tossed it to him as he said, "I got it!"
Peter landed on a foe and commanded with hesitation and regret in his voice, "Activate Instant Kill!"
And then his suit's eyes glowed red as his feet started killing foes that came close, controlling his emotions. He hated doing this, taking a life, even that of aliens, it wasn't him.
But there was just no other choice.
Wanda blocked Thanos' sword with her magic as Thanos grunted, using his other hand to bring the blade down as she strained.
Then Wanda smirked and straining a little, pushed his sword away, breaking it.
Using her powers, Wanda lifted Thanos into the air along with debris and using her magic, started ripping apart his armor and slowly moved to his skin as he screamed in pain.
"Rain fire!" Thanos then commanded, his voice strained due to his pain.
"But Sire, our troops!" Glaive pointed out in concern a she struck down a defender.
"Just do it!" Thanos groaned, still in pain, now realizing he had to do more than just the physical stuff this time against foes this powerful.
Then the Sanctuary II pointed guns at the ground, piloted by The Other, and fired, killing several defenders.
Wanda had to raise a shield to defend herself, distracting herself from Thanos as one blast sent her back too.
Wong used the Shield of Seraphim to defend himself and the other Masters used those too, though shots were still rained upon them.
Paige held up and orb shield to defend others near her as well.
Pepper noticed a flood approaching from a nearby broken dam and asked, "Is anyone else seeing this?"
Piper noticed and using her powers, stopped the flood, setting it back to normal.
The airstrike continued as they all had to block or dodge.
"I got this! I got this!" Peter was saying as the foes covered him, "Okay, I don't got this. Help! Somebody, help!"
Steve noticed and said, "Hey, Queens. Heads up!" And then he threw Mjolnir in his direction. As it passed over Peter's head, he used a web to hang onto it, escaping.
Peter hung onto Mjolnir as it flew, avoiding shots before Pepper got him and flew with him, "Hang on. I got you, kid."
She dropped Peter on Aragorn as he said to Valkyrie, "Hey! Nice to meet-" The shots knocked them away as Peter yelled, "Oh! My God!"
Aragorn was knocked away by the airstrike as Peter fell down, still holding the Gauntlet tightly as he rolled. As he got up, one shot destroyed his spider-legs and he rolled away, holding the Gauntlet tight. As more shots were fired near him, he covered himself and yelped.
The airstrike also knocked down Clint, Korg, Bruce, Rhodes and Groot when Rocket covered him with a fierce roar, not wanting to lose him again.
Then Thor's eyes glowed as he hurled Stormbreaker, charged with lightning, at the ship, and it was destroyed by a powerful lightning blast as Thor flew up into the air and caught his ax on return.
"Something just entered the upper atmosphere", FRIDAY then informed Tony as a light flew down and blasted various foes before straightening to reveal Carol Danvers.
"Danvers, fight", Steve ordered as Carol nodded and flew off to join the fight.
Paige then orbed near Peter as Peter greeted her while still holding the Gauntlet. "Hi, I'm Peter Parker."
"I'm Paige Matthews, got something for me Peter Parker?" Paige asked with a smile as he handed her the Gauntlet.
Peter noticed the charging army and asked. "I don't know how you're gonna get through all that."
"I'm not", Paige shrugged and orbed near the van which Scott and Hope had just fixed.
"It's done", Scott told her.
"Go put it in!" Hope said when Thanos in that moment threw the Thanoscopter at the back of the van, causing an explosion which sent Paige flying back before she could react, making the Gauntlet fall away while Scott and Hope shrunk and went off to avoid the explosion.
The explosion made the flood rise as Piper now strained a little to stop it.
Tony pushed a dead foe off of him and saw the Gauntlet. He ran to it, pushing Thanos away, but Thanos elbowed him in a rotatory motion, sending him down.
As Thanos tried to pick the Gauntlet, Thor jumped to him, swinging his weapons. Thanos backed to avoid Stormbreaker and ducked to avoid Mjolnir being thrown at him.
Thor turned to pick the Gauntlet when Thanos grabbed him so he freed himself and swung Stormbreaker, though Thanos managed to grab it to save himself.
As they struggled, Thor summoned Mjolnir and used it to push Stormbreaker, trying to break the deadlock. Thor roared as lightning flashed and then Steve leapt at Thanos from behind, grabbing Stormbreaker as well, trying to pull it into Thanos to help Thor.
Then Thanos head-butted Thor, sending him back before grabbing Steve's head and throwing him down too, punching him out.
As he picked up the Gauntlet, Carol leapt at him, kicking his knee, sending him down before punching him and dodging his punch. She hovered in the air, firing two blasts at his face, sending him back and then tried to punch but Thanos dodged and grabbing her hand, spun her around and threw her off.
Thanos then put on the Gauntlet and grunted as energy surged through him. Struggling through the pain, he tried to snap his fingers when Hulk grabbed the Gauntlet, stopping him.
Hulk snarled. "Hulk is strongest there is!"
And then he roared, preventing Thanos from snapping his fingers as Thanos roared and ripped out the Power Stone, using it to punch Hulk as he was sent flying off.
Tony looked up at Strange. He raised one finger and mouthed. "Just wait."
Thanos put the Power Stone back in the Gauntlet and power surged through him.
Paige was now back up and tried to orb the Stones to her, but failed, because the Stones couldn't be orbed.
Thanos was about to snap when she got another idea, and then she orbed the Infinity Gauntlet to herself instead, making the Stones drop the ground as Thanos looked around in shock and horror.
Strange then opened portals underneath the Stones and they fell down before he opened some more and they appeared near Paige.
Thanos then tried to charge Paige when Thor, now woken up again, hit him with lightning, sending him flying off.
Midnight rushed Paige who was picking up the Stones but Piper held out her hands and she exploded into bits.
"NOOO!" Glaive yelled in despair when Phoebe put her hands on his head from behind, reflecting his emotions back at him as he was killed from that too.
Strange and Maw faced each other.
"Come to die, Sorcerer?" Maw mocked him.
"No, come to kill you", Strange said as Maw hurled projectiles at him and Strange used a mystic shield to block.
Maw made the column under Strange break and hover but Strange flew into the air to save himself before blocking more projectiles from Maw.
Maw made tendrils appear to wrap around Strange, and he used a blast of Eldritch magic to destroy them all, staggering Maw away in the process as well, before trapping his throat in an Eldritch whip, pulling as Maw grunted.
He then pulled Strange to him and punched him down, making him fall to the ground while Maw stood over him angrily.
That was when the Cloak of Levitation wrapped around Maw's face, Maw staggering around as he struggled with it and Strange got back up, deciding to use his favorite trick on Maw.
As Maw and the Cloak of Levitation struggled, Strange opened a portal underneath Maw and he fell into just as the Cloak unwrapped from his face, and Strange closed the portal.
He had transported Maw to the cold vacuum of Space, where he would die slowly and painfully.
Cull swung down at a Wakandan but his hand was grabbed in a strong grip by Hulk, who roared and tore it off, making him scream in pain before Hulk hit him with the hammer hard, destroying him.
Thanos looked up to see Thor rushing to him and fired a concussive force beam from his hands, sending him flying off, shocking them all.
"How can he do that?" Clint inquired.
"My father has many powers, he always holds back due to his twisted sense of honor, to give enemies a fair chance", Nebula explained. "But now with all the enemies he's facing, he is going to go all out."
"Oh boy!" Clint realized as Billie tried to use telekinesis on Thanos but he simply blasted her away with a concussive force too, then as Wanda tried to fire at him, he created a mystical shield before expanding it outwards as she was sent flying off.
Thor tried to strike again as Thanos barely dodged but was hit by a lightning blast which sent him to the ground, and Thor leapt at him but was blown off by a concussive force at the last moment.
Carol then rushed him and punched before he punched back, sending her back into Space, and then he was hit by Mjolnir, making him double down as Steve caught it and called down lightning from above but Thanos defended himself with a mystical field before sending Steve flying off with a concussive force blast too.
Tony fired repulsors but Thanos dodged and smacked him away before firing a concussive force beam at Strange who defended himself and made Thanos' force wither away before firing an Eldritch beam which Thanos blocked with his mystical force field before expanding outwards, making Strange fall down too.
"I am inevitable", he declared.
"And we are the Power of Three."
Thanos turned around and saw, to his horror, Paige wearing the Gauntlet, holding hands with Piper and Phoebe, all three sharing the Power of Three as the Gauntlet burnt them in spite of their powers but they resisted.
And then Paige snapped her fingers as there was a flash of energy.
The sisters then found themselves in an orange landscape and looked around.
"Hello sisters."
They turned as their eyes widened to see Prue, who smiled at them with pride.
"Prue!" Piper cried out, hugging her older sister. "Oh Prue…I…"
"Prue", Phoebe sobbed, joining the hug as Prue stroked both their heads, and looked at Paige, who had tears of guilt in her eyes too.
"Do not blame yourself", Prue assured Paige. "It was my choice."
Piper started. "I tried to br-"
"I know, and I wanted to come back too, but that would stop you two from growing", Prue pointed out, holding their cheeks gently. "You two have grown into amazing and powerful women, you know that?"
"We can never be you though", Phoebe told Prue, shaking her head.
"And you don't have to be", Prue assured. "You are all your own people, flaws and virtues and all."
"We wish you could come back to us", Piper said with tears.
"Well, one day you will all come to me", Prue said, then looked at Paige. "It wasn't a transaction, it was an exchange. It can be reversed."
"Wait what?" Paige asked. "How-"
"It is everlasting only if the person keeps the Soul Stone", Prue revealed. "I didn't know myself. But the Stone, it has a sentience, it told me when I was in here."
Paige realized. "So if the Stone's returned-"
"I go back to my afterlife", Prue confirmed with a nod. "Come here."
Paige hugged Prue as they shared a kiss on the cheek.
"We love you", Phoebe told Paige.
"Yeah, we'll never forget you, thank you Prue, for everything", Piper said, all four of them having tears.
"You're welcome", Prue gave a bittersweet smile. "We'll meet again one day. But never forget- now you are the Power of Three."
The four sisters smiled at each other before there was another flash.
Back in reality, Rocket fired at a Leviathan which was about to eat him when it turned to dust. And then all of Thanos' army around them started turning to dust too while Leo, Henry, Morris, T'Challa and Quill watched.
Steve looked around at the army turning to dust before turning to look at Thanos, who backed off in horror.
Thanos looked around and knew he had been defeated. Refusing to let his enemies see him cry or beg, he sat on a rock and sighed, watching the sunset solemnly, closing his eyes and accepting his defeat with dignity. And with that, he turned to dust as well.
Paige dropped the Gauntlet, all three sisters having burns but Paige the worst due to having worn it, and they fell down as Sam rushed to Paige and used his powers to heal her, and then Piper and Phoebe as well.
The heroes all gathered together as Steve told the Charmed Ones. "You did it."
"No Steve", Piper shook her head.
"We all did", Paige confirmed with a nod as she and Steve smiled and kissed each other lovingly.
The nightmare of the last 5 years was over at last.
And done finally, yes!
Hope Thanos' powers and why he held back made sense.
Actually, I originally decided I would kill Thanos via some other way other than snapping as it has been done many times by many, me included, but then I decided the Charmed Ones snapping was just a great opportunity, and it also gave them closure with Prue.
Now the Prue thing may feel a bit cheap but I wanted to give everyone a happy ending here. I think it makes sense, if the Stone is returned, it frees the soul.
But let's say if a living person is killed for the Stone, they won't come back to life on returning it, but their soul would be free to move on, which in my headcanon is the case for Gamora and Natasha.
Prue was already dead, it was her soul she gave up, now that the Stone's returned she can move on again.
Anyway, next chapter shall be the last one, and hope all look forward to it.
