Profile Update: I’m completely redoing this profile, and since I finally have a computer, I can do it myself. It’ll take some time to get it completely how I want it, but we’ll start here and see where it leads. My life is pretty hectic. I’m trying to get it in order. Jumping between jobs isn’t very fun, but I’m determined to get back out there! I’m also planning on going back to school. I just want to get a job first. I have a vehicle (sort of) so that’ll help things tremendously since that was the main reason I couldn’t go get another job right after I lost my last job (and it was for a dumbfuck reason. Made no damn sense, and I still don’t get it! *mad face*)

Story Info: Ever since I’ve come to fanfiction, I’ve been able to bust out stories in five months. And I don’t mean five-twenty chapter stories. I mean Forty plus stories with 15-50 pages. Granted, I’ve had a lot of mistakes in both grammar and content, but overall, I think my stories have been good. I’ve made quite a bit of friends and I met my girlfriend through my first fanfiction (which, I kinda sorta regret taking down because I don’t have another copy of it, and it was special but it was also really weird, so eh…). But, of course, life changes, and now I can’t write as fast as I want to. However, that just means I can make my stories much better! Of course, this makes my updates extremely slow, and a lot of times I tend to lose interest in what I’m writing due to RL or just watching or playing something else.

Most of my stories on here are Yu-Gi-Oh! And while I love it to death, I have branched to different anime (see anime list below). And yet, even with all the anime I’ve discovered (whether I love, liked, disliked, or hated), Yu-Gi-Oh! Is still in my top pick (probably my third favourite series over all and probably my favourite manga thus far (because I haven’t actually read any other manga lol.)) And yet, these past years, I’ve drifted away from it and thought I could never write it again.

Well, y’all, we have some exciting news!

HOSTAGE IS BACK BABY!!!!!!

Yes, you saw/heard that correctly! After nearly three years of hiatus, and claiming that I’d never touch that story again. Even going so far as to say I’m giving it away (thank the gods no one took my baby from! (hearts!). Pippa and I wrote Chapter Seventeen (the chapter I posted yesterday) sometime in September of 2018. And that chapter was really hard to write! Because not only was I writing on my phone (lack of a computer), and Pippa had keyboard issues on her computer, but we weren’t truly into Yugioh as we’d liked to have been. We had a small spark, wrote the chapter, and then it was forgotten.

Fast forward to sometime this year. (I have no idea when lol) and then I start reading Hostage (for some unknown reason lol) and as I read it, I think “why the hell did we stop this amazing story?!” So, I’m all ready to write this story, but then I run into a major issue: Pippa. Just because I wanted to write it and was in the mood doesn’t mean she was. I found myself feeling awful because I wanted to write it, but she felt she couldn’t. Not because she didn’t like it, but because she felt she wasn’t good enough for it.

So, after much debate and feeling like complete shit on both of our parts, we decided that it’d be best if I continue the story alone. And, we even had a practice part between Chapter Eighteen where one of her characters and one of mine interacted. And it just didn’t feel right. The flow was off and we weren’t in sync. And that’s when we realized the only fanfiction we’re ever going to be able to write together (Unless something magical happens lol) is Naruto.

Now then, the point of this rant is to talk about how writing and updates will be for quite a while. As much as it pains me to say this, I’m not going to be working on anything other than Hostage. Now, this doesn’t mean I’m abandoning anything, but as my other two stories (Coiled and Flutter) are Naruto stories, I have to put them on hold. Naruto, like Yugioh, is a series I really get invested in, and I just can’t write them at the same time and keep everyone in character, have an amazing plot, etc. And I haven’t watched Naruto in a while (I’ve been watching the dub updates (yes, I watch dub, bite me :p) but I haven’t marathoned it and I think doing that will get me back into Naruto (or more where I need to be in order to write it). I think focusing on Hostage will do me some good. This story has been in the works for nearly six years. So, I think it’s time I finished it. Plus, it was on a near three year hiatus, and I think Coiled and Flutter fans will be okay.

Hostage Info: As stated above, Pippa and I are no longer writing this story together. Chapter Seventeen is the last chapter we wrote together. It was a great run, and we both improved our writing tremudlously through the first version of the story til now. But, with such a change has brought about quite a bit of changes:

1. Chapters will be much longer than they used to be. The goal is to write between three-five POVs per chapter depending on length. I’d like to get at least thirty-sixty pages per chapter written out. I have a lot I need to cover, and I’d rather not have a million ten page chapters. I prefer to write longer chapters. And since I write first person omnicient, I think that’ll be the best thing for me to do.

2. Since, as mentioned above, Pippa is no longer writing this story with me, I have to take on the role of all the characters. Granted, I’ve done these characters in the past, but some of them (like Ryou) are really hard for me to write. But, I promise I’ll try my best to make the characters that Pippa was doing as amazing as possible. (Her OCs included). Everyone listed in the first chapter, more so the OCs will not be appearing in this story. If they’ve already appeared, they’ll continue to (obviously). All characters are based on their manga personas. I may have used a slight touch of their anime personality, but I prefer the manga, and that’s how I’ve decided I want these characters to be. So if the characters do things that aren’t “right” then it’s because you’re not familiar with the manga, no?

3. This story isn’t a final version, and will end aruptly. And the sequel won’t start until after I finish Coiled (that’s what my plan is right now anyway), so I apologize if anyone finds this annoying. The sequel “The True Meaning of the Shadows”, will be a very long story, and I need time to prepare it.

4. There are going to be things in the story that may seem a bit strange if you go by real world Ancient Egypt. I will try my best to have things as accurate as possible, but due to plot, I have to change some things. I’m sorry if this offends any historical fantatics. It’s not something dumb like “Atem went to the fridge”.

Updates: I plan on updates being every other Saturday. I have quite a bit of chapters I can post now, but I want to be able to stay ahead of y’all. I’ll update on special occasions like birthdays and such. If anyone has an update date request, please let me know :)
