Wanted to try my hand on Thor/Sif. As much as Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman have an OK chemistry, Jane didn't exactly treat him well in the films and it was basically cliché "sexy alien guy/pretty human girl" and a poorly done version of Clark/Lois and don't get me started on the comic book version of Clark/Lois as well, from what I know, the comic book version of Thor/Jane is OK, more or less, and Thor/Sif had some potential, but the fact that Thor is often focused on humans on Earth puts a wedge between them since Sif isn't as much fond of them as Thor is, though there isn't too much drama about it. Jane was OK as a love interest in comics from what I remember but I'm not a fan of her being the next Thor and wielding Mjolnir, honestly.
Takes place post-Endgame, BUT no Bro Thor, since don't get me started on that, since that was infuriating as Hell and I frankly don't care much about Thor 4, even though Sif is apparently supposed to be Thor's next love interest, everything after Endgame so far, outside of Agents of SHIELD Season 7 and Shang-Chi and Legend of the Ten Rings, has been crap in one way or another.
Disclaimer: I do not own Marvel Cinematic Universe.
In a casino in Monte Carlo, Thor had a tuxedo, when he entered with Sif, who had revealing red sparkling dress as she looked around.
"Honestly, Thor, I shall never understand the desire for hazard. Betting what you hold precious in desire for more, when it's necessary. On Asgard and other worlds I might understand but considering how short lives Earthlings have here, I'd expect them to cherish and hold on to their valuables more." Sif said.
"Humans are just as flawed as any other beings. And we've seen the best and worst any race can offer. If there's one thing that is a constant in the universe, is that people have a potential to do their best, but it is much easier for them to do their worst." Thor said and Sif nodded, Odin and Loki and Thor and Thanos and Steve and Tony being the shining examples of this.
"Perhaps you have a point." Sif said.
"And it's short lives the people lead here that make them wanting to make the most of it in one way or another, enjoying what they want to do the most." Thor said as they drank champagne and Sif smiled.
"I'd never drank such beverage before." Sif lifted the glass in the air and was about to smash it. "Ano—"
"No, wait!" Thor said, grabbing her by her arm. "Midgard has very different rules about drinking and trust me, breaking anything here is the last thing you want to do."
Sif looked abashed. She had not expected this but she was aware that the Earthlings had different societal rules in comparison to Asgard. "I… understand." Even though she still found some of Earth's conventions odd, she was trying to adjust. "So, Thor, do you have any suggestions?"
Thor approached the roulette as Sif looked around. "At least we're not on Knowhere. I wouldn't bet on orloni at all."
"How about a particular number? Or color?" Thor asked, handing Sif a stack of chips.
"Game of chances was never my thing." Sif reminded.
"Only because Loki was sneaky enough to outwit us with his deft hands and cards up his sleeves." Thor noted and Sif considered. They had more than enough money to outlast most of the guests here anyway.
"I suppose one bet wouldn't hurt." Sif said.
"Number or color, ma'am?" The croupier asked.
"10,000 on red." Sif said, placing the chips on table as the croupier spun the wheel before she suddenly felt the desire to win, similar to when she had wanted to prove herself as a warrior to Odin and other Asgardians and Thor supported her, yet for some reason, this feeling was different, since she was not fighting anyone to prove herself, but as she suddenly realized, if there was one thing similar among other beings in the universe, it was that deep down there was an inexplicable desire to want more than they already had. "I suppose I can see the merits in this." But the wheel stopped as the marble landed on black-colored number as Sif sighed. "Damn."
"It's a game of chance. Don't beat yourself up." Thor assured.
"I wasn't." Sif said. "Though I have no idea why was I doing this at all. Maybe I should try again."
"A handsome man and a beautiful woman having fun, bright lights, a few games and foolish choices." Thor noted as he picked glasses of champagne and they drank before Sif betted again as the croupier spun the wheel again.
"Beautiful woman?" Sif asked, blushing. While Thor had complimented her in many ways, most of it was as a warrior, rarely as a woman.
"You don't think you're—"
"No, no. It's not that." Sif interrupted. "It's just…" She took a breath. "We've known each other since we were children. Your parents, you and Loki treated me like your own family and I admit I admired you and…" She sighed. "Deep down I'd always wondered if there might be more between you and me… but considering how often you spent time on Earth, I didn't think you'd feel the same way about me."
Thor pondered for a moment before walking off with her. "Honestly… I hadn't considered it much before my banishment to Earth either but as much as I care about Jane…" He sighed, remembering her behavior during the Convergence. "She couldn't exactly understand some aspects of my life, unlike you. And when I was in more than one occasion on verge of death, asides from my friends, Steve, Tony, Nat and others, there was one woman on my mind but it wasn't her."
Sif widened her eyes, realizing where was he going with this as she noticed the way he was looking at her, but before she could say anything else, the wheel stopped and Sif suddenly cheered, happy to win this time.
Later, they returned to their apartment in downtown as they smiled and had their arms around each other's necks.
"Thor, are you sure about this?" Sif asked.
"I have always respected you and supported you as a warrior and a friend. And after Jane, maybe I was too afraid to admit that I'd found something I had been looking for my whole life, when I saw you after years…" Thor trailed off and Sif nodded. It was when Thanos had killed half of life in the universe, with Sif being one of the victims and their reunion after that.
"So you…" Sif was lost for words, embarrassed now. They had treated each other like brother and sister and she had never expected him to feel about her the same way she sometimes felt about him.
"I don't know where you and I are going to end up, but I want more, Sif. I just can't see myself with anyone but you and I want to see it through." Thor said and Sif smiled before they kissed fiercely.
Sif took off Thor's jacket and unbuttoned his shirt, running her hands down his chest, while he reached for the straps on Sif's shoulders as the dress slipped down and they made their way to the bed, while Sif helped Thor take off the rest of his suit, while she moaned as she felt him give in, before they engaged in another kiss, both of them lost in passion now.
When Sif came to as she opened her eyes, she looked around as she stirred, only to notice that she was alone in bed before she got up, kicking the sheet off, not even bothering to put anything on to cover herself, unveiling her body in its natural beauty, naked as the day she was born. Usually, she had enough decency to put on a blanket at least to cover herself but now she and Thor had taken their relationship to another level, what was the point of covering herself, especially since it was just him and her now. If anyone was going to enter, she could always wrap around herself a sheet at least.
Sif walked out of the bedroom to look for Thor before she found him sitting on a couch and reading newspapers and she walked behind him, wrapping her right arm across his chest.
"How long have you been up?" she asked softly as he brought his own hand up to cover hers.
"About an hour." Thor said as he looked up at her, noticing that she was naked, not that he was complaining as he admired her features and they kissed again before Sif looked at him fondly. "What?"
"Nothing. I love you." Sif said as she sat on his lap and wrapped her arms around him.
"I love you, too, Sif. Wherever fate will take us, we will face it together." Thor said as they looked outside the window to enjoy the sunrise.
