I Don't own Mass Effect neither Girls' Frontline

Location

Eden Prime.

This was supposed to be a routine shakedown mission with the brand new vessel the Alliance had called the Normandy, though it had changed considering that a Turian had been seen on board.

Then a Red haired woman, with Caucasian complexion, and wearing Alliance uniform walked towards the pilot's room.

"Hey Commander." The pilot greeted the commander, he had an Eastern European complexion, and wore a standard Alliance uniform like the commander

"So where's our destination Joker?" Questioned Shepherd who turned and looked at Jeff Moreau, or as he's called by the Normandy's crew, Joker.

"Well, Captain Anderson told us to set course for Eden Prime." Jeff Told Shepheard.

"Eden Prime? that's an inner colony world? No pirate group would be smart enough to attack that Colony without the Alliance knowing first." Jean asked with surprise evident in her tone, as no one in their right mind would attack a colony world right on the System Alliance doorstep.

"Beats me commander, You'll have to ask Captain Anderson on this topic, I'm just the chauffeur." Jeff told Jean in a joking manner.

"Right... See you 'round then Jeff, tell me when we arrive to Eden Prime." Jean said as she left the Pilot room.

"No worries Ma'am." Jeff responded in a joking manner.

"Commander Shepheard report to the meeting area, Captain Anderson wishes to discus something with you." came the voice of the ship's VI.

"Tell him I'm on my way." Said Shepheard as she walked towards the meeting room.

"So what do you think?" A Turian asked a pale Human wearing a black armored suit that didn't seem like it was made from any of the groups that make up the citadel council, as it was made out of Graphene, and had an experimental energy shield, it was painted fully black, with some red lining and a flame like coat-of-arms on it's chest plate, and a tattered hooded cloak that seemed to have seen better days.

"About who, Nihilus?" Asked the Human.

"About Jean Shepheard." Nihilus told his partenr.

"Hmm... I still have to make up an opinion, after all papers tell a different story from the real person, so don't be quick to judge, cuz you might get disappointed." Nihilus' human partner pointed out.

"I guess, I have to agree with you M5A1." Nihilus agreed with his partner, as he referred to the latter as if he was a serial model.

"Anyways, we'll see if she's up for the task." M5A1told Nihilus as he heard the meeting room's doors opening up and showing a man with a dark skin tone short buzzcut hair and wearing the appropriate uniform for his position as the captain of the Normandy.

"Captain." Said M5A1

"Nihilus, Cormack?" Anderson referred to the two of them.

"Yes, Captain?" M5A1 asked.

"I believe that you heard the announcement?" Anderson asked them.

"That we did." Responded M5A1 with a nod.

"Still, We are most definitely curious, if she's really what the papers say or if there's more to her than we first thought." Nihilus told the gathered persons.

"I wouldn't hold such high hopes Nihilus, as I said earlier there's a difference between the paperwork and the Person." M5A1 warned Nihilus, who simply took a deep sigh.

"You really aren't giving her a chance aren't you?" Nihilus said in a mildly exasperated tone.

"You do know I always go with the saying "I know when I see it", right so with that in mind I don't think we should go right up the gate and expect Shepherd to be some super-soldier." Said M5A1 as he looked at his Partner/Contractor.

"Is there something wrong?" Came a Female voice causing the gathered men to look at Shepherd.

"Ah, Shepherd just in, I want you to meet SPECTER agent Nihilus and his... retinue member, Eugene Cormac." Anderson said as he introduced Nihilus and M4A2, the latter under his alias.

Jean Shepheard was a bit... confused for the lack of better words.

The reason for her confusion was because a SPECTER was on a ship and a guy that clearly looked like a Merc with what looked like old armor and a cloak, for some reason, were inside that meeting room.

"Is there a reason why a SPECTER and his Retinue are here?" Shepherd asked Anderson.

"Hope I am not being rude Captain, but I'll take it from here." Nihilus said.

"No problem." Anderson responded.

"The reason why my companion and I are here, is because the council has taken a keen interest in having you joining the SPECTERS." Nihilus said as he began to walk up to Shepherd, all the while Cormac remained silent, looking at her with an analyzing and judging look.

"What has made the Council to take an interest in me?" Shepherd asked, curiosity evident in her tone.

"Simply put we have reviewed your actions during the Skyllian Blitz and earning the Star of Terra, various anti piracy and anti terrorist operations, and I'll be the first among my colleagues to say that I am impressed with your repertoire." Nihilus said.

"It's nothing special sir, just doing my job." Shepheard said.

"People say that Humility is of the sign of great people, from George Washington, to Ulysses Grant and Lincoln, and Gandhi of India, and many others, I can see many great things coming from you commander, though I wonder how much will you last to hold the Galaxy's weight until you crumble." Eugene responded as he walked up to the commanded with his analyzing gaze making Jean feel uncomfortable and feeling a bit creeped out by the mercenary.

"Cormac that's enough, you are scarring our new Candidate." Nihilus told M5A1 who simply shrugged.

"You are the boss." M5A1 said as he walked away from Shepherd.

"So is there anything I need to know before we go to Eden Prime?" Jean asked Anderson.

"I'll answer that. The reason why we are going to Eden Prime is because an excavation group had found and dug up a Prothean artifact, and this discovery could propel the technology of the galaxy a 100 years from now." Nihilus said.

"I can imagine the Importance." Jean said.

"It's so important that no one except the excavation and the research group know about it's existence." Anderson told Jean.

"And I hope you can imagine if some of the more rather shrewd and politically minded people in the alliance would do if the got their hand on the info about the Artifact." Eugene said as a smirk appeared on his face as if he had said the funniest joke in the Galaxy.

"It'd be, I do beg your pardon, a Shitshow." Jean said just imagining the retaliation the Alliance would get.

"And that's why you are one of our best N7 operatives for the Job." Anderson said.

"This Joker, and we are approaching Eden Prime in less then 20 Minutes, Joker out." Jeff said as he closed the comms channel.

"Well you heard the Pilot, You'll find me in the armory, where I'll be fiddling with my gun." Euge said as he walked out of the meeting room and walked towards the Armory.
