"Surprised to see me again?" Cole asked as Piper considered. For all she knew, this place was cosmic void between life and death or another kind of purgatory again.
"Guess I shouldn't. Can't you just get me back home?" Piper asked.
"Here's your ticket." Cole said, handing her the apple as Piper looked unamused.
"Yeah, I read 'Snow White' when I was six, how gullible do you think I am?" Piper asked dryly as Cole looked offended.
"I thought we'd moved past our trust issues after I helped you reunite with Leo after that thorn demon attack." Cole reminded.
"I'm suspicious by nature. Can't we just pop into the manor like you did the last time?" Piper asked.
"We're not in the void between life and death this time, this is another place entirely." Cole said.
"Let me guess, a construct created by the first witch?" Piper asked dryly. "I kinda got it, now I just have to find an escape route."
"I'm offering you the escape route. It wasn't easy getting this here, all it takes is a bite." Cole said.
"Historically speaking, women don't have the best track record taking apples from strangers. Look at Snow White." Piper reminded.
"I'm not exactly a stranger." Cole said, offended.
"You've always been a little strange to me." Piper shrugged as she eyed the apple. "The apple that Angel took from me was rotten. This one isn't."
"You do understand it's not a real apple but an illusion, do you?" Cole reminded.
"I do now, but how do I know this isn't an elaborate ploy to get Phoebe back? She's happy and married now and she has a daughter now." Piper reminded, crossing her arms.
"I'm only here to help." Cole insisted. "Any other questions?"
"What do you know about Neena? Are you working with her?" Piper asked as she followed him down the woods.
"We don't really travel in the same circles." Cole said as Piper rolled her eyes.
"Typical vague answers. Why should I trust you?" Piper demanded.
"Because I'm the only chance you have to get out of this place." Cole said.
The Upper Regions
Neena, Rennek and a legion of demons were walking down the courtyard before they reached a giant golden gate as Neena looked amused. "The Elders… they've always been better at hiding than fighting."
"How are you going to open it?" Rennek asked.
"Simple… they will open it for me." Neena said, turning to three demons and waved her hand as the glamour faded to reveal Buffy, Paige and Leo as she laughed. "You thought a glamour could fool me? Where do you think this magic originated? I can see through such simple spells easily."
The demons restrained the group as Buffy, Paige and Leo glared.
"Now you're going to help me." Neena said.
Halliwell Manor
"I should've gone with them. The place is crawling with demons up there." Phoebe muttered, pacing back and forth.
"If she's as powerful as your friend Leo said, maybe it wouldn't be best for us to go there all of us at once." Willow said. "Considering that she's the first witch and the Seed of Wonder hadn't fully matured, I can't fight her, at least not alone."
The Upper Regions
"How convenient a Whitelighter is here when I need one." Neena smirked, eying Paige.
"What makes you think I'd help you?" Paige sneered.
"If you don't…" Neena gestured to Rennek, who aimed his crossbow at Leo and Buffy. "Your brother-in-law and your friend will die."
"Paige, whatever she wants, don't listen to her, they'll kill us anyway." Buffy protested.
"You will help me open the Vault, if you don't… I'm not going to stop with Leo, but with your mortal husband, your babies and who knows who else." Neena said, forming a glamour of Henry and his and Paige's babies.
"It's an empty threat, she would never kill her descendants." Leo said.
"I've killed warlocks before. Witches and mortals aren't that different to me." Neena said indifferently as Rennek aimed his crossbow at Buffy.
"You're bluffing. You wouldn't kill your own descendants, your kind…" Buffy sneered.
"That's why Rennek is here." Neena said as Rennek was about to pull the trigger.
"Stop! I'll do it!" Paige shouted. "I'll do what you want!"
Halliwell Manor
"Can't we… I don't know, create a magical bomb to nuke her?" Dean suggested.
"What?" Phoebe looked at him, confused.
"Short version, we once tried to use a magical soul bomb to destroy a primordial being of darkness, a being that had existed since the beginning of time. Turns out, we didn't need to." Sam said.
"Wouldn't Neena know about it?" Sam pointed out.
"Even if the Power of Three wouldn't work, I can't face her alone and even with you at my side, I won't stand a chance." Phoebe said. "I tried everything to find my sisters, scrying, calling a lost witch…"
"There's gotta be a way to deal with Neena." Dean said.
"Wait a minute, that's it!" Phoebe said, an idea hitting her as she snapped his fingers.
"What's it?" Willow asked, speaking for everyone.
"If I'd lost my husband or if Piper had lost Leo, we'd go to the ends of the Earth for each other, just like Neena must have gone up there to find her love." Phoebe said.
"But he's gone, isn't he? Closed off from everyone and everything in the All." Coop reminded as he entered, also helping investigate more clues about Neena.
"Maybe we can make a quick visit." Phoebe said.
"Don't you think she would've done that by now?" Dean pointed out.
"Her magic interferes with the All, they'd cancel each other out, but a lesser witch…" Phoebe explained as she started flipping through the Book of Shadows before she found a spell she had been looking for.
"'To Call a Lost Witch'?" Willow asked with a frown.
"Would that even work on her mate?" Dean questioned.
"If the magic of the All descends from them both, I could create a link." Phoebe said and everyone looked at each other, confused before shrugging. It wasn't like if they had not tried crazier ideas.
"Worth a shot, I guess." Sam said.
Elsewhere
"I still don't trust you." Piper said as she glared at Cole.
"I'll try not to be too offended. Are you going to do it or not? I promise there's no worm in it and your family's fate is at stake here." Cole reminded and Piper sighed. She had trusted Cole before, even though it was a risky gambit but it paid off.
"Here goes nothing." Piper said as she bit the apple, but suddenly, she felt dizzy and staggered on her feet as her eyes blurred. "Damn you… Cole…" Her feet suddenly got heavy as she passed out and fell down to the ground and Cole groaned.
"That wasn't supposed to happen."
The Upper Regions
"Paige, don't!" Buffy protested, trying to struggle out from the demons' grip.
"We'll fix it. Don't worry." Paige assured as she used her Whitelighter powers to open the gate to the vault.
"At last…" Neena smirked before entering the vault where on pedestals were various artifacts from which emanated pure magic as she approached a pedestal with two glowing orbs, one red and one blue. "Hello, my sweetlings…"
Seeing an opening, Buffy grabbed an athame of one of the demons and stabbed him as he burst into flames.
Rennek fired from his crossbow but Paige reached out with her hand. "Arrow!" She telekinetically orbed the arrow to one of the demons, who burst into flames. Some demons formed energy balls and fireballs, throwing them but Paige formed an orb shield, deflecting them back at the demons, vanquishing them.
Leo grabbed Rennek's crossbow and disarmed him and whacked him in the face, knocking him down. "Shame on you, Rennek. A powerless mortal gets the drop on you." Leo smirked.
"Enough!" Neena said, disarming Leo.
"Paige, get Buffy out of here!" Leo ordered.
"But, Leo—"
"Go!"
"I can't orb out of here!" Paige realized.
"You're not escaping this place, not while I'm in control." Neena sneered as she formed magical bonds, about to restrain them.
Suddenly, Willow teleported in as Buffy turned to her. "Will!"
"Take my hand!" Willow ordered and Paige and Buffy reached out to her, while Willow was about to teleport them out.
"No!" Neena screamed, throwing a giant magical ball at them as Willow, Paige and Buffy disappeared in a flash of light.
Few hours later
Paige groaned as she came to, while a young dark-haired girl, who shared some facial features with Paige and her sisters, was nursing her injuries.
"You're awake."
Paige got up, eying the girl warily.
"It's OK. You and your friends are safe now. Neena disrupted your orbing but we got you here safely. Buffy and Willow are OK and they'll be happy to see you're awake too." The woman assured.
"Where are they?" Paige asked.
"Just stay here, I'll be right back." The girl said as she approached the door. "Aunt Prue, Aunt Paige is awake!"
"Thanks, Melinda, I'll be right there!"
Paige clutched her head, wondering what had happened and she still needed to find a way to reach out to her sisters, Dean and Sam. They had to find a way to… Her eyes suddenly widened. Wait a second. Did she just hear 'Melinda', 'Aunt Paige' and 'Aunt Prue' as in…
Her answer came, when a dark-haired woman in blue dress approached the door and Paige's blood ran cold. She had never met her in person or as a ghost either but she had seen enough family photos for the face to sear into Paige's memory. The green eyes and gentle smile of kindness and the casual attitude she seemed to bear with her.
"Hey, Paige. It's nice to finally meet my youngest sister." The woman said.
Paige got up to her feet as she eyed her eldest sister who was supposed to be dead and who they had never been able to summon as a ghost, now in front of her, in the flesh before she noticed Buffy, Willow and a woman with dirty blonde hair she had never seen before in the living room of the cot where they were now, countless of questions whirling her mind now.
"Prue?" Paige whispered.
To answer your question, yes, it is an adult daughter of Piper and Leo, Melinda, from the future, like with Wyatt and Chris and she would be played by Katie McGrath. Thank you to Aragorn II Elessar and Stand with Ward and Queen with the help of casting.
And Paige has officially met Prue now and we all know who the other woman is. How's that for a reunion and a first meeting at once?
