I've only very recently discovered Avatar and it has eaten my brain! I love the show, I love all the characters. Really, I adore all of them. I discovered A:tla when on holiday in New Zealand. NZ will always have a special place in my heart. At the hostel I stayed at, one of the dudes staying there floved A:tla! I think he travels the globe with all three seasons looking to introduce new people to this show! thanks Herman the German! you're a star! we played a drinking game while watching it one night (Emletish may have gotten a little wankered... err wankered is slang for Drunk in my little corner of the world) everytime something bad happens to Zuko or he has an angry outburst=drink, everytime Katara makes a speech= drink, everytime Iroh mentions tea = drink, everytime sokka mentions meat = drink. you get the picture dear reader. If you are of legal drinking age in your country I can tell you that it was a very messy but very fun and the BF wanted to see more of the show and when sober and back home we got all three seasons and watched them in a massive A:tla-fest weekend of awesome! It was brilliant. It was love.Since then the show has just capture my imagination like nothing before! and I have Ideas! Ideas that I want to write out! Ideas that become fics! Ideas about what happened before and what happens next and what happens after too many fire-wines. I'm shamelessly pro Zuko/Katara. To me they are the ultimate Lizzy/Darcy. they are Lizzy and Darcy with Super Powers! What's not to love? While I love Aang, he's a Mr Bingley if you know what I mean. Other shows I love but have not yet, and may never write fic about: Firefly, Castle, Merlin, Trueblood, Dr Who, Downton Abbey. If you couldn't tell from the Lizzy/Darcy analogy I'm also quite fond of dear Jane Austen. I have a disproportionate amount of love for J.K. Rowling. |
