Disclaimer: I do not own League of Legends or anything else you may recognize
So here we are at last with Part 10 of the 'We Are Heroes' series (which is coincidently my faviroute number).
Those who have followed me for a while know that I have frequently teased the Earth-96 Sara Lance prequel story a lot. And we are here at last with it.
Now even though this is Part 10 of a series, it's not nessacary to read any of the previous stories before this.
This story is a prequel which takes place almost a decade before 'A Legend Never Dies' even happens, and features an alternate Earth-96 (though Brandon Routh's Superman still exists there).
You don't need to read the previous stories before this. All you need to know is that the Heroes from various fandoms like the MCU, League of Legends, Smallville, Buffyverse, Supernatural, X-Men, Fast and Furious, The Boys and multiple others are all Multiversal allies who fight bad guys.
The main protagonist is Sara Lance aka White Canary, and is from the world of Earth-96 and is played by Scarlett Johannson.
Those are the basics you need to know.
Though Earth-96 will be featured, almost the entire story takes place on Runeterra, the world of League of Legends.
I have spent almost an entire year planning this story, and originally it wasn't going to be that long.
But after a lot of careful planning, plus getting bombed with new lore, characters and events, this story has ended up becoming much larger and more impactful for the rest of this series.
Now onto the story-
Every single champion that has been added to the game so far will be involved in this story, though some of my personal faviroutes, like Yasuo, Xin Zhao, Jax, Twisted Fate etc, will be involved more.
And I will also be reworking some champion lores, since there are some that I feel Riot Games has neglected, such as Shaco and Seraphine.
Also, you don't need to be familiar with League of Legends or its characters to be able to enjoy this story.
Some more stuff will be explained in the ending A/N for this chapter.
So here we go, and hope all enjoy.
Chapter 1- Down for the Ride
Earth-199999, New York City, Avengers Tower
"Hey Jason!" Sara Lance of Earth-96 called out to her friend Jason Stark. He turned to face her, a bag on his shoulder.
"Yeah Sara?" Jason asked her.
"Where are you going?"
"To Earth-1 to visit Dominic Toretto and his crew," Jason explained. "They needed my help with something. Oh, and I'm taking Rebecca along as well."
"Ah! Okay then, see you soon. And call if you need him." Sara smiled at him.
"Jay, you ready?" a young female voice asked. Both turned to see Jason's step-sister Rebecca Potts-Stark walk up to them, a bubbly smile on her face.
"Yeah, Becky." Jason said to her.
"Well, catch up with you soon." Sara said to them both.
"Thanks, Sara," Rebecca grinned. "Let's just hope Dom doesn't go on about family."
"And well, it's like Dom said; there are 3 types of people in this Multiverse; people who put themselves first. People who put physical possessions first. And then there's us who put family first." Jason said, gesturing to himself and Rebecca.
"Dom is an idiot, but whatever." Rebecca rolled her eyes.
"Well, we all have our quirks." Jason shrugged.
"We better get going." Rebecca said softly, tugging on Jason's hand. He snapped out of his daze and nodded.
"See you soon." Jason said to Sara and she nodded. He opened a breach. Rebecca and Jason both stepped into the breach which closed behind them, leaving Sara alone in the room.
Sara smiled softly and looked up to the sky.
"I thank you, Lord Bard, for each day that I remember my friends."
She smirked. "No, my family."
She did consider the people on Runeterra to be her family. Akali, Ashe, Braum, Ezreal, Yasuo, Lee Sin, Garen, Jarvan IV, Sivir, Lucian, Senna, Taric and others were all her family.
"Now and forever, Bard you reign." Sara whispered.
She reached into her pocket and pulled out several photos, putting them all on the table.
She knew exactly who each of them were, but she wasn't going to talk about it. Some things were better left alone.
The first photo was of her, when she was younger, with her parents, Quentin and Dinah.
The second photo was a picture of a dark-haired young man with a mischievous smirk on his face.
Daniel Weston, a close friend of hers.
She looked at the third photo, which was of a blonde man who was gesturing with his arms wide open.
Jake Horan. A good person, though a little bit arrogant.
She then looked at the fourth photo, which was of a dark-haired man with light stubble on his chin and he was wearing a grey shirt. He had a genuine smile on his face, like he was happy to be there.
Alan Colter. Jake's cousin.
Sara turned her gaze to the fifth photo, which was of another dark-haired man in a blue polo shirt. He was laughing at something.
Miguel Alonzo. One of her 3 oldest friends.
Sara looked at the sixth photo, which was of a blonde haired girl with a pretty smile, and a glint in her eye.
Brie Daniels. A friend she met in 3rd grade. Remained friends ever since.
Sara then smiled the seventh photo, which was of a dark-skinned woman with a confident smirk.
Hayley Brown. Brie's girlfriend.
Next to it was another photo, which was of a pretty woman with dark hair.
Kylie Kekumano. A wild child, but kind and honorable.
Sara smiled at the final photo, which was of another dark-skinned woman with dark hair.
Regina Patel. Another one of her oldest friends. She was strong and very stubborn. Once she made a decision, you would never be able to change her mind.
Sara turned around as a breach opened and 5 people walked out of it. The first was a beautiful, red-haired woman who was holding hands with a dark-haired man who had a small beard.
Next to the two of them was a young woman about 16 years old, and she had dark hair that had wisps of blonde at the end.
She was standing next to a brown-haired man in a suit. He was holding hands with another red-haired woman.
"Sinthea! Peters! MJ! How are you guys?!" Sara asked in surprise, not having expected to see them.
"Hey Sara!" Sinthea Parker grinned as she stepped forward and hugged her best friend. "I haven't seen you in ages!"
"We would have called first." Peter Parker of Earth-2002 aka Spider-Man said with a small smile.
"MJ, Peter." Sara smiled, hugging the other two.
"Wow, Aunt Sara, I don't even get a hug. I'm disappointed." The blonde girl said with a small pout.
"And you are?" Sara asked, confused.
"Sorry, I look different. It's me, Ava." The woman said and Sara's eyes narrowed.
"Yeah, you remember my daughter." Peter smiled, putting an arm around Ava.
"H-how?" Sara sputtered. Of all the strange things she'd seen, this was the weirdest so far.
"Oh that's a long story." Ava chuckled.
"Well thankfully I have a lot of time on my hands. What happened?" Sara asked.
"There was some guy with magic on my Earth. My dad thankfully managed to stop him eventually. Before he did though, he hit me with a burst of magic." Ava began.
"Thank God you're okay though." Sara said.
"I can imagine," Sinthea smirked at her friend, both knowing what Sara was referring to.
When they fought in the Battle of the Five Armies and Sara had been hit, leaving her writhing in pain for hours.
"But instead of the magic killing me, it accelerated my age," Ava continued. "So I went from 7 years old to 17. And my mental and emotional development was accelerated. So I went from grade 2 to the end of school."
"That must have been awkward. At least you're not older than your parents." Sara said, drawing chuckles.
"Oh the paperwork was hectic." Peter agreed.
"You have no idea how strange it was. Nobody recognized me at all; all my friends were younger than me." Ava said.
"Fair point," Sara said. "When did that happen?"
"A month ago. It was so freaky. Everything is so upside down for me. I still have to get used to being 17 when I was only 7 a month ago," Ava said. "We would have come by earlier, but for some reason; we couldn't go to this Earth."
"Oh! That!" Sara said. "It was blocked off. We were fighting some God level being called The Darkness. She is God's sister."
"Wait really?" Mary Jane asked, shocked.
"Yep, God has family," Sara nodded. "We blocked this Earth and a few others off. Doctor Strange figured that the Darkness could travel to other Universes. When we defied her, in her eyes, Earths 1, 21, 92 and 205 all defied her. None of us wanted to risk any other Earths pissing her off, so we made sure no one else could interfere. This was our problem, and we had to fix it."
"Oh damn!" Sinthea muttered in horror and shock.
"You seem to have had a much more interesting time than us." Peter commented.
"True. What happened to the magic guy though?" Sara asked.
"Peter beat him and he was arrested," Sinthea explained. "He had a staff which was the source of his power. Without it, he is useless. So thankfully, he won't be bothering us any more."
"Thank God, don't want any more growth spurts now, do we?" Sara said before looking at Ava. "Bring it in, girl."
Ava grinned and stepped forward, wrapping her aunt in a hug.
"We just came over to visit," Spider-Man said. "We haven't seen you in months. Not since Thanos."
"True," Sara nodded. "Really good to see you guys."
Footsteps were heard and two people rounded the corner.
The first was a brown-haired man in a yellow T-shirt and jeans who was talking to a blonde woman who was wearing a blue jacket, jeans and sneakers.
"Hughie! Annie!" Sara greeted them both.
"Hey Sara," Hughie Campbell greeted before noticing the others. "Who are your friends?"
"Peter Parker and Mary Jane Watson from Earth-2002," Sara said, pointing to Spider-Man and Mary Jane first.
"I am Peter Parker, from Earth-2012." Peter said, holding out his hand.
"I'm Hughie Campbell. This is my girlfriend, Annie January." Hughie introduced himself, shaking Peter's hand.
"They're from Earth-72," Sara explained. "They recently joined the Avengers a few months ago."
"Ah! Okay then. Explains why I've never seen you before." Sinthea nodded.
"Hey, what's this?" Ava asked, picking up a drawing on the table. It showed Sara standing next to a young girl, a taller man in armour and a huge statue behind them.
Sara smiled wistfully. "Just some old friends from Runeterra. Lux, Garen and Galio."
"You've never mentioned them before." Hughie said.
"I'd rather not." Sara shook her head gently.
"I'd like to know," Ava said, but everyone shot her looks. "But you don't have to, if you don't want to."
Sara walked to the window and looked out across the city.
"Why don't you want to talk about it?" Spider-Man asked.
"It's a sacred time for me," Sara explained carefully. "A time of peace, wonder and war."
All traded looks, their curiosity having peaked.
"You don't have to tell us," Ava said gently. "But you yourself told me that keeping emotions bottled up isn't healthy. Maybe you should tell us."
Sara looked at her niece as Ava continued. "I promise we'll keep this a secret."
Sara's face hardened and she looked conflicted for a few moments. Ignoring Ava, she turned back, clenching her fists multiple times as her thoughts clashed.
'You've been keeping these thoughts hidden for almost 10 years now. If you're going to tell your epic tale, best to tell it to family. And remember, until you arrived on Runeterra, all that time you were finding yourself, and you didn't know you were lost.'
Sara's eyebrows furrowed as her mind spoke again. 'You had friends on Runeterra. You had family. They would want you to honor them with all you do. And you're God, Bard. He has and always will guide you. There is true power in his name.'
"I don't think I should tell it." Sara muttered.
'Love is on the move when Bard watches over you. They won't judge you for anything. Check your shame outside the room, because it isn't welcome anymore.'
'And besides, you're not being rational. Years ago, you yourself said you wouldn't pretend you were someone else for all time. There's a heart that must be free to fly. Just sing. Sing like never before.'
Her decision made, Sara turned back to face her friends.
"Guys," she said. "I'll tell you everything. But be warned, my tale is long."
"Well, we have a few days before we go back to our Earths, so I think we should be fine." Sinthea said.
"And we live here." Starlight added. Sara walked over to a series of couches in the middle of the room and sat down, the others sitting around her in a half circle.
Ava walked over and sat next to Sinthea, mother and daughter smiling at each other.
"I'm going to tell you everything that happened." Sara began as all looked at her with undivided attention.
"It's now or never, so are you down for the ride?" Sara asked and they all nodded. "I'll take you lot on a journey, I will show you the way, till the stars start to fade to light."
"We're all ready." Peter said confidently.
"I was on the world of Runeterra for 14 years." Sara said, and all except for Peter, Spider-Man and Sinthea traded shocked looks.
"Damn." Starlight commented.
"I once was lost, but then I was found," Sara said. "It was hope that brought me safe along the way, and hope would lead me home."
"Who are the people you mentioned, like Brie and Regina?" Starlight asked. "Are they from Runeterra?"
"Them? No, they were my childhood friends on Earth-96." Sara said.
"What about what happened to you on Runeterra?" Ava asked carefully.
Sara looked over at her and said. "I'm going to tell you all what happened. But if we're going to start, then we need to start from the beginning. With Thanos."
"I thought you beat Thanos a few months ago?" Ava asked in confusion.
"Not the one we fought," Sara said. "There was a version of Thanos on my Earth that honestly put the one we fought to shame."
"Oh boy!" Spider-Man muttered, now wondering how bad this Thanos was.
"On Runeterra I learnt that life's a game made for everyone. And peace is the prize." Sara smirked.
"Amen sister." Sinthea smirked.
"You mentioned some people on Runeterra. Like Yasuo, Bard, Twisted Fate, Udyr, Jarvan IV, Lucian, Senna, Zed, Vayne and others." Starlight said.
"Those are all my close friends. And we'll get there. I'm about to tell you all a story. A story of amazing love."
"We're all ready." Ava said confidently.
"All right, this is my story." Sara spread her hands. "I was lost for a long time. 14 years to go and I was running low on faith and strength. It was a long, hard journey. I didn't pay attention; I was heading for my doom."
All listened as she continued. "I saw everyone's lives flash before my eyes. I was so scared. And that was when I found myself enlightened, by Bard, the God of Gods. He has no equal in any Universe."
"Bard take the wheel." She whispered before looking up.
"I ended up on Runeterra on the 21st day of September, 982 AN. AN means 'After Noxus.' That was the day I knew love was there to stay."
"Then this is my epic tale. You are all about to hear a story of amazing love."
And this first chapter is done. In case anyone's wondering, Earth-96 Sara is played by Scarlett Johansson.
And now Sara will tell them all about what happened to her on Runeterra. And hope the explanation for how Ava is a teenager makes sense.
So now Ava will be played by Sydney Sweeny.
Oh, and Hughie and Annie are from the show 'The Boys', which exists on Earth-72.
And then there was the moment where Sara remembered her past friends, who are all my OC's, alongside Sara's parents.
Quentin will be played by Charles Esten and Dinah will be played by Lena Heady.
Those who have read the previous story will remember that Earth-96 was restored, so they will appear at some point down the line. Here are some castings for Sara's friends-
Isreal Broussard as Daniel Weston.
Dale Whibly as Jake Horan.
William Brent as Alan Colter.
Michael Ronda as Miguel Alonzo.
Lili Reinhart as Brie Daniels.
Alisha Boe as Hayley Brown.
Bethany Mota as Kylie Kekumano.
Linnea Berthelsen as Regina Patel.
And here are some castings for the Earth-96 Justice League in the next chapter-
Jeremy Renner as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow.
Brandon Routh as Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman.
Lucas Till as Barry Allen/The Flash.
Tom Cruise as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
Chris Evans as Steve Rodgers/Captain America.
Dolph Lundgrun as Thor Odinson.

Henry Cavill as Namor the Sub-Mariner.
Karl Urban as Bruce Wayne/Batman.
Robert Buckley as Hal Jordan/Green Lantern.

So next chapter will continue the plot, and will focus on the Earth-96 heroes battling Thanos, before we get to the Runeterra section of this story.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
