Chapter 4- Lightshield

Runeterra, Demacia

Sara woke up groggily. The first thing she felt was a lot of shaking. Looking up, the sky shook slightly, making her narrow her eyes.

Looking around slowly, she saw she was on a stretcher that was being carried by two armoured soldiers, one in front and one behind.

"What…the…hell?" she groaned softly.

Xin Zhao turned to face her, a look of relief washing over his face.

"Oh you're awake. Thank the Gods above." He said, rounding his grey stallion around to face her.

"Where am I?" Sara asked.

"We are nearing the Great City of Demacia," Xin Zhao explained, jumping off the horse and kneeling next to her. "I managed to stabilize your condition. You were bleeding pretty badly."

"Thanks." Sara muttered, giving him a grateful look.

"I would not recommend moving your arm," Xin Zhao said. "You passed out. Once we reach the City, I can properly heal it."

"How long until we reach this City?" Sara asked.

"Another half an hour," he said. "Are you okay?"

"I will be. Thanks a lot." She said.

"You welcome."

Xin Zhao got back on his horse and rode back to the front of the line. Demacian soldiers were walking, some limping from the injuries they received in the fight earlier.

Sara laid her head back and looked up at the dazzling blue sky. She was in a new world. It was a whole new sensation, something she never knew before.

How could she get home? She honestly had no idea.

Sara had no idea how long she had been staring at the sky, but a loud horn rang out, making her jump slightly.

Sara silently hissed as the pain in her shoulder flared once more.

"We're home." The soldier behind her said, and she could hear in his voice that he was smiling.

They all walked or rode into the city and Sara looked around. It was huge, with white walls raised everywhere, and towers scattered here and there.

People all around were saluting the soldiers, and cheering.

Up ahead, Sara could see a huge white and gold building that looked like it could be a palace.

"Where are we going?" she asked.

"To the palace. I will make sure you are okay, and then we shall meet the King." Xin Zhao said, appearing next to her.

"Uncle!" a strikingly handsome young man with dark hair, about 18 year's old walked up to them.

Sara looked over at him, and she could tell he was some type of royalty; by the way he carried himself. It was like he was born for this moment.

The man shook hands with Xin Zhao, and they smirked at each other.

"Did you lose anyone in the battle?" he asked once they parted.

"4 Rookies." Xin Zhao revealed, pointing to the left where there were 4 bodies with white linen.

The man nodded sadly, and that was when he noticed Sara.

"Uncle, introduce me this beautiful lady." He said.

"I think it is best she explains," Xin Zhao said, turning to Sara. "This is Prince Jarvan Lightshield IV."

As a sign of respect, Sara dipped her head slightly in acknowledgement and said. "You're Highness."

Jarvan IV returned the gesture. "Welcome to Demacia, my lady."

"I am Sara Lance." She said, looking at the Prince. He was older than she expected, still young though.

"She was wounded in the fight against the Noxians. She can explain the full story to you when she is healed." Xin Zhao interfered.

"Fair enough," Jarvan said. "My father is eager to hear your report."

"And he will get it in due time," Xin Zhao countered calmly. "Sara needs medical attention."

"I'll be fine." Sara grunted. She tried to get up, only to fall down again with a wince.

"Don't be ridiculous, Lady Lance," Jarvan interrupted. "You are clearly in no condition to go anywhere."

"Fine," Sara sighed. Her eyes drifted to a sword strapped to Jarvan's side. It had a gold pommel with green and red gems on it. "Nice sword."

"Thanks." Jarvan smirked. The two made eye contact, and nodded at each other.

"I will see you in the palace in 5 minutes." Xin Zhao spoke up. He helped Sara get out the stretcher and slung her good arm over his shoulders.

"I will tell my father." Jarvan nodded, moving away. Xin Zhao sat Sara on the steps and took out some bandages and a needle.

"Do not move." He warned. Sara hissed slightly as he tightly wrapped a bandage around her wounded shoulder.

Xin Zhao lifted her arm and placed it in a sling, tying it in a knot around her shoulder.

"Your wound is not healed, but I managed to stop the blood flow," he explained. "It will take a while to completely heal. Do not move your arm no matter what."

"Thanks a lot, Mr. Xin Zhao." Sara said gratefully. A small smile tugged at the corners of his lips and he nodded.

"Are you okay? You don't have to go right now." He said.

"No, I'm fine," Sara waved him off. "Let's do this."

Xin Zhao nodded and held out his hand which Sara accepted gratefully, and she was hauled to her feet.

And with the Universes perfect timing, Jarvan opened the door.

"They are ready for you." He said, gesturing for them to enter.

The throne room was spacious and circular with windows. On the throne at the end of the room sat the golden armored King.

He had a grey beard but his very aura radiated kingliness.

Around were other people, all dressed in silver and gold clothes.

Jarvan was at his father's side. What caught Sara's attention was a woman with blonde hair, an aura of authority, and also the extremely large shoulder pads.

"Who's she?" Sara nudged her head.

"Tianna Crownguard, High Marshal." Xin Zhao explained.

Next to her were some more men and women, but Sara didn't pay them much attention.

At the end of the line was a man with dark skin, but what made him stand out was the mask covering his eyes and the strange staff he held in his hands.

'Wonder who that guy is.' Sara thought to herself.

Xin Zhao began approaching the king, but before doing so, he turned to Sara and whispered. "Let me tell him what happened earlier, then you can explain your situation and who you are."

"Fair enough." Sara nodded.

Xin Zhao walked up to the throne and knelt. "My King, I have returned from the battle. I'm glad to report it was a success, the Noxian forces are defeated and driven from our lands."

"Good work. Unfortunately, I learned that 4 of your men perished in combat." Jarvan III said, a mixture of satisfaction and sorrow in his voice.

"Yes, I shall bury them with full honor." Xin Zhao inclined his head briefly.

"And you met this woman there?" King Jarvan asked, gesturing to Sara who looked at him.

"Yes, milord, our paths crossed during the battle. She was looking for help, but was wounded in combat, though I saved her." Xin Zhao continued.

"Help? For what?" Tianna asked.

"That is for her to say." Xin Zhao responded, turning to Sara, who got the message.

She slowly walked forward and stood in the center of the room, all eyes on her, most examining the strange outfit she wore.

Just like the Seneschal before, Sara knelt before the King.

"You're Highness." She greeted.

"Welcome. Please stand," King Jarvan said and she got up. "Before you begin, I thank you for helping my men."

"No problem, sir." Sara smiled slightly.

"I still thank you," King Jarvan stated. "But we are getting off-topic. I am Jarvan III. You are?"

"I am Sara Lance. I am from another world." She said, taking a deep breath.

"Another world?" Jarvan asked in confusion, trading puzzled looks with everyone else, either than Xin Zhao.

"I know you probably don't believe me, but yes, I come from another world." Sara said.

Breathing heavily, she then provided detailed descriptions of her world, including the Justice League team and how it came to be.

It was safe to say that those present were astonished and perplexed by the tales, but a lot held scepticism.

"As much as those stories are impressive, Ms. Lance, I still find them hard to believe," Tianna said. "Especially the part where a single being could summon such an armada."

"I assure you, ma'am, all of this is real, and Thanos is far from being a simple being. Put 'far' in that he is from yet another world." Sara said.

"Once again, I'm believing less and less in this story of yours." Tianna stated.

"Well, I have literally no reason to lie," Sara spread her hands. "I just want to get back to my world."

"Tell me, Noxian spy, what information are you seeking?" King Jarvan asked, looking at her.

"Noxian spy? Dude, I just showed up. I don't even know what a Noxian is, much less why they're attacking you, or whatever is going on in this world." Sara said, puzzled.

Everyone was looking at her suspiciously, except for Xin Zhao, and he was slowly tightening his grip on his spear.

"We are not fools; we do not easily fall for such tricks from spies, no matter how innocent they look." King Jarvan said.

"Guards!" he called out.

Sara looked around.

"Ah shit." She grumbled.

And this is done. Hope all enjoyed it.

So the second champion to be introduced is Jarvan IV aka The Exemplar of Demacia.

He is one of my faviroutes and his lore is definitely awesome. In the present, Jarvan IV and Sara are siblings in everything but blood.

Jarvan III will be called King Jarvan, and Jarvan IV will be called Jarvan, to differentiate between the two.

Some champions will be slightly older than they are in canon, but that's so that it fits what I have planned.

And now, the Era of Legends is about to begin.

Hope all the interactions were enjoyed as well. Next chapter will involve a lot of interactions, and some more champions will be introduced.

Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
