Thank you to everyone who has favirouted, followed or reviewed this fic so far.
And the reviews are down again *groans in annoyance* regardless, I still encourage you all to review, and I will post the next chapter when they come back up again.
This chapter will involve some action, and we'll finally get a proper fight after a while.
Guest: Thank you for what you said. Normally, I would say you're going too far, but at this point this shitbag is too thick-headed to leave us well alone.
Chapter 9- Welcome to Ionia
Runeterra, Ionia
Sara, Lee Sin and Udyr sailed the boat towards a very tall mountain in the distance, though it was covered by fog.
"We have finally reached the shores of Ionia." Lee Sin said with a smile.
Sara looked up ahead as the fog faded to give way to a port, with some small boats littered.
"So this is Ionia." She mused to herself.
"Yes. Welcome to my homeland." Lee Sin remarked quietly as the three entered the dock.
Lee Sin began singing. "Bard loves me, this I know. We are weak, but he is strong. Yes Bard loves me, the world tells me so."
Sara looked at him, her eyes twinkling. That was a beautiful song.
"I do not believe we will need the boat anymore." Udyr said as the three stepped onto the wooden bridge.
"No we will not." Lee Sin agreed. Sara looked around at seeing the port nearly deserted, except for a few old fishermen. They all looked Asian.
The world began swaying as Sara frowned in confusion. Her stomach started to cramp and heave.
'What's happening? Am I sick?' she thought to herself. Bent over, she spewed her breakfast onto Lee Sin's shoes, though he nimbly jumped out the way.
Sara stood up and wiped her mouth. "Sick…as a dog."
"Ah, I see. You are truly a sailor." Lee Sin chuckled.
"I am never cooking food for you again." Udyr sighed, shaking his head in amusement.
"Take it easy, Sara." Lee Sin advised, placing a hand on her shoulder.
Sara wiped her mouth of bile and slowly stood up, her legs still shaking.
"When you are ready, let us go. We must go to a place called the Hirana Monastery." Lee Sin said.
"Why?" Sara asked.
"It is my old temple where I trained in Ionia's ancient martial arts," Lee Sin said.
"Really? Martial arts?" Sara asked, beginning to grow excited.
"We can get food, shelter, rest and information there." Lee Sin finished.
"Where is it?" Udyr asked.
"It is deep within the mountains close by." Lee Sin said.
"All right." Sara nodded. Hopefully they could point her in the direction of this relic.
"Where is everybody?" Udyr asked, looking around at the nearly abandoned town.
"I do not know," Lee Sin sighed. "Perhaps we will get more information the further inland we go."
Sara, Lee Sin and Udyr walked through the town, coming to a narrow pass that lead into Ionia.
The 3 continued walking through a grass covered valley, as Sara looked around at some statues. A lot of the statues were ancient, some degrading.
"Ionian culture is thousands of years old. We were the first peoples on Runeterra." Lee Sin said to Udyr and Sara.
"Really?" she asked.
"Yes."
"Who are they?" Udyr suddenly spoke up, pointing to the front. Ahead, almost 3 dozen soldiers in grey and silver armor appeared, marching towards them.
"On the authority of Noxus, you are all to come with us." The leader spoke in a gruff voice.
Sara's eyes widened at the name. So Noxians were here.
"No." Lee Sin said defiantly. The Noxian leader glared at all three and did a motion with his hand.
Seven soldiers moved forward, aiming their spears.
"Then we have no choice." He said.
Lee Sin clenched his fists and then punched the first soldier in the head, knocking him down.
Taking advantage, Udyr let out a primal roar of rage and head-butted the nearest soldier in the face, actually sending him flying back a few feet.
Sara did a spin motion and kicked a soldier in the head, staggering him before she slammed her elbow into his face, taking him down.
Lee Sin smacked one and elbowed him away before grabbing another's arm and spin kicking another away, then slammed the previous one down.
"Kill them!" the Noxian leader roared.
Udyr charged at the soldiers, punching one down before lifting another up and hurling him across the field.
Sara punched a soldier in the abdomen. As another charged, she punched him and in a spin motion, elbowed another in the face.
Then she kicked another's feet out from underneath him and spin kicked two others.
"Come here, Noxians! Face me in combat!" Lee Sin challenged. Two Noxians charged at him.
Lee Sin kicked the first in the abdomen and then ducked to avoid a swing before punching him in the face.
As another charged at him from behind, Lee Sin spun and kicked him in the face, making him fall like a sack of potatoes.
Udyr kicked one Noxian away before lifting another by the throat and throwing him into two more.
Sara flipped and brought her foot down on a Noxian's head, tripping him and making him hit the ground hard.
"Where do we go?" she shouted.
"To the Monastery!" Lee Sin replied, spin kicking a Noxian in the face.
Udyr glowed as a bear formed over him. He let out a bear's roar and rammed into a soldier hard.
The soldier flew and hit the ground so hard, he died on impact.
"Sweet lord!" Sara said with wide eyes. This was the first time she had seen Udyr in action, and now she understood why he called himself the 'Spirit Walker.'
The leader drew an ax and charged at Sara. She barely ducked to avoid it and smacked him with the back of her hand.
The leader growled and swung his ax in frenzy, trying to cleave her. Sara bobbed and weaved to avoid, but found it increasingly difficult.
Thankfully she was saved by Udyr picking him up by the throat, proving himself to be even stronger than the leader.
Lee Sin kicked the last soldier in the head, taking him out.
As one more charged, Sara delivered a side-kick to his ribs, sending him crashing to the ground.
"That was…interesting." Sara mused.
Lee Sin looked around and said. "More Noxians will come for us. We must reach the Hirana Monastery."
"Then let's go." Sara said. She sighed, feeling the sweat begin to drip down the back of her neck.
Two days later
Sara, Lee Sin and Udyr walked through a forest, the wind blowing all around. They had left the valley after defeating the Noxian unit, and were on their way to the Hirana Monastery.
"Ionia looks really pretty." Sara commented as the group continued walking.
"Yes it is." Lee Sin nodded with a proud smile.
"We do not see things like this in Freljord." Udyr noted.
"Well yeah, you did tell me it's a frozen wasteland." Sara shrugged, and Udyr let out a light chuckle to show he wasn't offended.
"Touché." He smirked.
Sara looked around at the forest, hearing some birds singing. The forest eventually gave way to a stone path that lead away.
As Sara walked, the sounds of whales calling out could be heard and she looked around in confusion.
"Why do I hear whales?" she muttered.
"Oh those!" Lee Sin chuckled. "Those are Cloud-Drinkers. Large fish-like creatures that sing songs that can be heard all over Ionia."
"This world is getting stranger and stranger." Sara shook her head in amusement.
"We are about a two day journey from the Monastery." Lee Sin said.
"Man, wish we had a car or something right about now." Sara chuckled.
Sara drank some water from a flask as Lee Sin practised some martial arts nearby. Udyr was calmly meditating.
"You're skilled." Sara noted as she looked at Lee Sin.
"Thank you. I have trained for years. I channel the power of the Dragon spirit itself." He replied.
"Care to test that claim?" Sara asked with a wry smile.
"You may try." Lee Sin smirked as Sara walked up to him.
Lee Sin punched first as Sara blocked. She tried to punch a few times as Lee Sin avoided and pushed her back.
Sara then tried to spin kick and punch as Lee Sin dodged both, then blocked two more punches before punching Sara back.
"You're agility is lacking slightly." Lee Sin noted.
Sara then blocked another punch while Lee Sin backed to avoid one from her, and then kicked Sara who blocked as well.
Sara then tried to hit him in a spin motion as Lee Sin ducked to avoid and tripped her feet, sending her down.
"If I was not holding back, you would be dead." He said.
Sara kicked him in the abdomen and rolled to her feet, jumping and trying to knee him. Lee Sin blocked and smacked her face.
Sara ducked to avoid another punch and tried to hit but Lee Sin blocked and kneed her several times.
Sara swung but Lee Sin ducked to avoid and leaping, kicked Sara in the back of the head, sending her staggering away.
As Sara turned, Lee Sin tried to spin kick but Sara ducked to avoid but Lee Sin spun in the air again and managed to kick her.
"Wow, I meditate for five minutes and you two are already trying to murder to each other." Udyr commented.
"We were not trying to murder each other, we were simply training." Lee Sin said, offering Sara a hand. She spat out some blood and accepted it.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"Yeah, I'll be fine." Sara shrugged, though the inside of her mouth stung.
"We must leave. I sense Noxians not far behind us." Udyr said with urgency in his voice.
"Oh we need to go." Sara said, as the three began walking at a brisk pace.
"I sense that before this War is over, the dead will live again." Udyr muttered to himself.
"What exactly are we going to do after we reach this Monastery?" Sara asked.
"We are going to eat and rest." Udyr said gruffly.
"And then?" Sara pressed.
"We will help you find this relic that you are searching for." Udyr said.
"All right." Sara said. She stopped near a pool of water and stared at the water with wide eyes.
"What's wrong Sara?" Lee Sin asked her.
"Who is that girl I see, staring straight back at me?" Sara asked with wide eyes.
"I do not see what you mean." Lee Sin said, looking confused.
"I do not see what you mean either." Udyr added.
"Never mind. Don't worry." Sara shook it off. Udyr looked at her, a thoughtful look on his face. He would talk to Sara about it later, as he had a feeling he knew.
Sara suddenly froze and turned back to hear the hoof-beats of horses.
"I hear horses coming. Are these Ionians?" she asked.
"No, Noxians. We need to reach the Monastery!" Lee Sin said, beginning to sprint.
Sara turned, only to find Udyr almost a meter ahead. For a man almost 6 feet and built like a tank, he moved with surprising agility.
"How the hell does this guy do it?" Sara muttered, shaking her head. She sprinted as the three moved.
"Why are we running?" Sara asked.
"There are too many Noxians for us to single-handedly take on." Udyr grunted.
"Move towards those mountains! The Monastery is there!" Lee Sin shouted, pointing towards towering peaks in the distance.
Sara, Lee Sin and Udyr continued sprinting. The hairs on the back of Sara's neck stood up and she side-stepped as a spear struck the ground where she had been only moments earlier.
"And now I'm really disliking Noxians." She groaned.
"What was your first clue?" Udyr asked sarcastically.
"Follow me!" Lee Sin said as he led them down the stone pathway towards the mountains.
"How deep in the mountains is this place?" Sara asked.
"Very deep. We should hopefully be able to lose them." Lee Sin replied as the three moved towards the pass.
"I don't think so." A voice said.
Sara stopped running, seeing many soldiers ahead.
"We have you surrounded. Best to surrender." He taunted.
Sara clenched her fists in anger and stepped forward, levelling a glare towards the Noxian.
"Come on then. Let's see what you've got."
And this is done. I would have done the fight at the Hirana Monastery, but I wanted to save that for its own chapter.
So now the second region has been revealed and it is Ionia, the First Land, which also happens to be based on Feudal Japan.
Hope all the interactions and fights were enjoyed as well.
Personally, I think Lee Sin can defeat Sara in a hand-to-hand fight, because he is one of the best hand-to-hand fighters on Runeterra (though I think Karma can defeat all the other Ionian champions.)
Not only that, but he also channels the power of the Dragon spirit, which automatically makes him more powerful than Sara.
Udyr literally uses the power of 4 Gods, so he is really OP. But worry not, Sara will get a power boost later on in this story.
Though in my opinion, Karma is the best hand-to-hand fighter on Runeterra, because she is the vessel for the Spirit of Ionia itself, so she has the spirit of an entire continent.
So she has lots of knowledge and power. Not even Lee Sin or Master Yi could take her on and win, unless they had help or she was deliberately holding back.
There are a few champions that Sara can defeat, but Lee Sin isn't one of them. At least for now.
Next chapter will cover the entire fight at the Hirana Monastery.
Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
