Chapter 11- Dreams and Talking

Runeterra, Ionia, Hirana Monastery

Sara awoke with a gasp and looked around. She was no longer on a battlefield; instead she was lying on a bed inside a simple room.

It had plain wooden walls, with golden symbols painted on the walls. As she tried to lean forward, a sharp pain shot through her abdomen.

Oh right, where she had been slashed by the Noxian soldier.

"Bloody hell." She muttered, as pain shot again.

"They may think they see who I really am, but they'll never know me.' Sara though bitterly to herself. Those Noxians really thought they did.

Sara slowly swung her legs off the bed and stood up. Her abdomen still hurt a lot, but thankfully she could walk.

Sara was now wearing a blue and grey tunic, and she had no idea where her Earth clothes went.

Slowly, Sara limped out the room, entering a grand hallway, with huge gold pillars on both sides. The sun shone into the room, showering it with warm, tranquil light.

"Hello, Lee? Udyr? Anyone?" she called out.

Sara slowly walked towards the end of the hallway, pushing open the great bronze doors.

On the other side was a huge open area, over looking the other side of the mountains. There was a roof but no front. Monks were practicing martial arts.

Lee Sin was in the middle of the room, his head bowed, while Udyr was placing a hand on his shoulder.

At once, everyone stopped what they were doing and looked at Sara. She felt a bit uncomfortable at all the attention, but offered everyone a small smile.

"Oh, hi Sara." Udyr greeted, looking at her soberly, making her look at him weirdly.

Sara walked over, and Lee Sin turned to face her.

Sara stopped dead in her tracks. Lee Sin had no eyes. There were just empty, scorched sockets with no eyeballs.

"Oh god, Lee!" Sara said, looking slightly green.

"The Dragon spirit." Lee Sin replied brokenly. Any earlier weirdness was immediately gone as Sara looked at him with sympathy.

"Listen, I know it seems bad, but you will be fine." Sara assured, grasping his shoulders.

"I tried telling him that." Udyr sighed.

"The power overwhelmed me," Lee Sin muttered. "I should have listened to the Elders. Instead I unleashed the power of the Dragon Spirit. Now, I pay the price."

Sara looked at him with pity. Maybe he wasn't the Lee Sin she was friends with. He had lost his soul.

Slowly, she stepped forward and gently wrapped her arms around Lee Sin. After a moment's hesitation, he returned the hug.

Udyr stared at them both sadly, feeling their pain.

"Just because you lost your sight, does not mean it is over," Sara said. "Back on my Earth, I met a hero named Daredevil. He was blinded when he was young too. And now he is one of the best hand-to-hand fighters I've ever seen. We can work together to help you. You are Ionia's best fighter. It still needs you."

She pulled away from the Blind Monk, looking at him sadly.

"You were the one who inspired hope inside me," Sara continued. "Now it is time to find that hope inside yourself."

"She is right," Udyr spoke up. "Everything happens for a reason. The Heavens have a plan. Perhaps you were meant to be blinded. In which case, we also were meant to meet you. And that is an encouraging thought."

Sara gently squeezed Lee Sin's hand, her greatest sympathies going out to him.

An hour later, Sara was looking out over the mountain range. In the distance, she heard explosions, clear signs that open warfare between the forces of Ionia and Noxus were still happening.

"What a world." Sara muttered. For the last two months since she had arrived here on Runeterra, this world never ceased to surprise her. From learning about this fantasy world, to now fighting in a war.

"Are you okay, Sara?" Udyr asked, stepping up next to her. He looked slightly more rugged than before, but that made sense, since he had just fought in two battles back-to-back.

"I'm good, Udyr." Sara sighed.

"What is in your mind?" he asked gently, looking at her.

"I am just trying to find a way to get home," Sara admitted. "Now I just need to find this relic."

"I will help you," Udyr said. "Just as long as those omens do not come to pass."

"What omens?" Sara asked curiously, though secretly dreading the answer.

"It says that soon, the blind will see, the deaf will hear and the dead will live again." He said.

"What does that mean?"

"I do not know," Udyr admitted. "I believe the dead returning refers to the Shadow Isles. But that is a realm of the undead, so I have no idea what 'the dead will live again' means."

"Neither do I." Sara sighed.

Udyr clapped a hand on her shoulder and said. "Get some rest. The journey long before us lies."

Sara weakly nodded as Udyr gave her one last smile and turned to walk inside the temple.

Sighing, she stared out over the horizon. What a day, she thought.

Her thoughts were interrupted by someone tapping her on the shoulder. Sara turned to see an old man with a bright smile and bushy moustache.

"Excuse me, ma'am, but I doubt you want to be out here right now." He said.

"I was just on my way back in, thank you sir." Sara said, frowning. She had a feeling she knew him from somewhere, she just couldn't remember where.

"No problem," the man smiled. "Just remember, all that is gold does not glitter, and not all those that wander are lost."

Sara stared after him as he turned to walk away.

Before he did, the old man turned and said. "Excelsior!"

Sara frowned, pondering on what he said. Eventually, she shook it off and walked back inside the temple, deciding to retire for the evening.

Later that night

Sara sat on her wooden bed as she looked up at the ceiling, lost in her thoughts.

'Maybe you can't do this. You don't even know what you are looking for.' Her mind spoke.

"But I need to at least try. We gotta have faith." Sara muttered.

'Faith? Faith isn't proof!'

"Doesn't matter. I still need to do this." Sara shook her head.

Silence descended upon the room as she looked around.

"Out of the night that covers me, black as the Pit from pole to pole, I thank whatever Gods may be, for my unconquerable soul." Sara recited part of the poem 'Invictus.'

She didn't like poetry, but Invictus was a poem that she remembered by heart, and it made her smile.

'You may try carrying the weight of the world. But you only have two shoulders," a soft voice spoke.

"Hope I get the chance to travel Runeterra. But I don't have only plans." Sara shrugged.

'None of us can tell where the journey will end. But at least you know where to start.'

'Life's a game made for everyone. And peace is the prize. When the Crisis comes, you and I will join with all nature in manifold witness. Morning by morning, new mercies I see.'

Soon, the tiredness made her close her eyes. But even her dreams were plagued.

Sara stood in a very large city, with boats sailing through the sky. Wait, boats?

Indeed they were boats, and Sara saw a sign that read 'Piltover.'

"So I'm dreaming of Piltover." Sara noted to herself, looking around.

An explosion rang out and Sara jumped slightly turning to see a large building raining glass and debris.

The dream changed and this time Sara was standing on a cliff, overlooking the sea.

"MORDEKAISER!"

Sara turned to see Udyr jumping at a being of giant armor. He punched Mordekaiser in the face, staggering him slightly.

As Udyr leapt again, a blast of Dark Magic sent him flying back.

Sara turned to see Xin Zhao charge as well. Mordekaiser slammed his mace on the ground, producing a huge crater and shockwave that shook the world.

Sara stood in a citadel as a woman in intricate blue armor faced someone in a blue and red suit with the American flag as a cape.

"I'm the Homelander. You are nothing, Lissandra." He mocked.

He tried to punch but the woman caught the punch and ice began spreading up his arm, making him cry out in agony.

Then the dream faded.

A man with a shield fought against several people in a plaza.

"Name's Soldier Boy." He smirked.

Sara found herself staring at another version of her on top of a hill, facing an army of millions.

"For Ionia!" other Sara snarled, drawing a pair of swords.

This time, Sara stood in a modern city, making her frown in confusion. What?

Looking around at the buildings and neon signs, Sara realized this was Tokyo, Japan.

"Nope, fuck this dream." She sighed.

"Car don't make the driver," a blonde woman said to a dark-skinned man. "Now let's race."

A revving sound caught her attention and she turned to see someone in a silver 2018 Acura NSX.

The person started driving and swerved down streets, going extremely fast.

'Look's like these people are just too fast, too furious.' The voice chuckled again.

The person driving did a U turn and began driving towards her at a rapid pace.

Sara's eyes widened as the dream faded to black.

Sara woke up with a gasp, feeling intense sweating.

"What the actual Hell was that? That was just weird."

'The last dream was of the Authors,' the voice whispered again. 'Immensely powerful beings that created and wrote the entire Multiverse. They were there in the Garden, like snakes in the grass. They think they can control everything, but I hate to tell them, that family is gonna conquer all.'

"What on Earth?" Sara muttered, more confused than ever, but this time, the voice did not respond.

"Well I'm just way too tired to honestly care. I'm going back to sleep." She shrugged, laying her head on the soft pillow, and slowly drifting off to sleep. But something kept nagging at the back of her head.

The next morning

Sara walked down the hallway, feeling much more rested than she did the day before.

As she pushed open the doors, Udyr tuned to face her, a smirk on his face.

"Ah, you're awake." He smiled. "Did you sleep well?"

"I did, thanks a lot." Sara said. It wasn't a lie, but it wasn't the truth either. She had slept well after her dream/prophetic vision. She had slept wonderfully.

"Where's Lee?" Sara asked, looking around.

Udyr now grinned. "It seems you managed to get him out of his…how do you say it?"

"Funk?" Sara offered.

"Right, that word you mentioned a while ago." Udyr said, frowning slightly as this was the first time he had used it.

At that moment, Lee Sin walked up to them, and Sara did a double take on seeing him.

He looked different. Instead of smelling like roasted bacon, he now had a clean smell. But what caught Sara's attention was that he how wore a red bandana that covered his now empty eye sockets.

"Hello, Sara." He smiled.

"Lee…wow, you look different." Sara admitted.

"You were right. Ionia is still at war, and until we have defeated the Noxian scoundrels, my fight is not over." Lee Sin said.

Sara smiled proudly and hugged him.

"I talked to some of the monks here. They say that there is an area a 6 day ride from here called Bard Mountain. The relic is a pair of boots, and I believe it is located there." Udyr said.

Sara looked at him gratefully.

"Thanks so much, Udyr."

"You welcome. But I am coming with you." He raised a hand.

"Me too." Lee Sin added.

"No guys. I thank you all, but this is something I need to do myself. I thank you Udyr, but Lee Sin needs your help. This is my fight," Sara said, and continued before they could protest. "But don't worry, I will return. You saved my life, so I am going to finish this fight. I will join you all against Noxus. One last time."

Udyr looked like he wanted to argue but sighed.

"Fair enough," he admitted. "I trust that you will be able to do it."

"Me too. And thank you for joining us." Lee Sin added.

"You welcome." Sara smiled.

She clenched her fists. Now it was time to go home.

And this is done. Next chapter will be longer.

Hope all the interactions were enjoyed in this, as they were very fun to write. So now Sara will say in Ionia to fight Noxus.

And now she has to travel to find the relic that will help send her home. That will be the main focus for this entire arc.

Hope the dream sequence was enjoyed, as well as the references to both Homelander and Soldier Boy, both of whom are from 'The Boys.' We also had a little reference to the Authors, which will definitely come into play in my COIE story.

Can anyone guess who is influencing Sara? If you don't, it will be revealed in a few chapters. But this Cosmic being definitely knows about the COIE event.

I also referenced Earth-96 Daredevil here, though don't expect him to appear in anytime soon.

Also, I know some stuff might not make sense, but all will be explained in due time. And remember, this is a massive crossover verse, so I am allowed to bend the rules slightly. Not too much though, as I like to respect the rules of each Universe.

Anyone catch the Stan Lee cameo?

Now, next chapter will begin Sara's journey to find the relic, and she will meet a lot of familiar faces.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
