This chapter will finally move the plot forward, and we will begin the Ionia/Noxus War arc of this story.

Chapter 15- Rebirth of the Legend

Runeterra, outskirts of Ionia

In a Noxian war camp on the outskirts, a young soldier was going over some reports. He was handsome and dark-haired, with his arm held in a sling and a hand-ax hanging from his belt.

"Corporal!" someone barked. The young man jumped slightly, but steeled himself in time, looking at a huge, hulking man in black and grey amour.

He held a massive double edged ax in one hand, and one of the spikes on his shoulders was broken off. His rippling biceps looked as though they were about to break out of the armor at any moment.

The man's face was twisted in a snarl, and despite looking young, he was very rugged.

"Yes…Hand of Noxus?" the man greeted with a slight stutter.

"What do the reports say?" Darius asked in a deep voice.

"There are several Ionian forces moving further inland," the young man replied. "I have also gotten word that the blonde Demacian is here."

"Sara Lance?" Darius asked. The young soldier stared at him in confusion.

On noticing his look, Darius explained. "There are spies in Demacia that have reported on her. She is an outworlder."

"A what?"

"Never mind," Darius grumbled. "Where is she now?"

"Somewhere close by. The scouts say she is a two day ride from here." The soldier replied.

"Then we get ready to fight. The Grand General wants her captured alive." Darius said.

"All right." The soldier nodded. Darius grunted and walked away, his ax on his shoulder.

Boram Darkwill. The Noxian Grand General. He had personally demanded that Sara Lance be captured and hauled back to Noxus Prime.

Darius sighed and shifted his grip on his ax. Regardless on his own feelings about this, it was time for war.

Sara carefully walked through a dense forest near a series of plains and hills.

It had been two days since she had left Bard Mountain on her search for the Ionian Boots of Lucidity. It had been a tough couple of days, with regular skirmishes with Noxian forces along the way.

She had received word from some villagers that a war camp had been set up on the outskirts of this forest. Now it was time to destroy the war camp. The more units she decimated, the less forces the Ionian natives had to deal with.

Sara carefully snuck through the bush and peeked out over it, seeing several silver armored soldiers talking, but she couldn't make out what they were saying.

The soldiers were wearing a lot of armor on their front, but their backs had none.

"Why the hell are they wearing all that armor in the front?" Sara wondered, confused.

Looking around, Sara carefully climbed into a tree and waited, her short blonde hair blowing in the wind.

'Okay, so take them all down around the camp, one by one.' Sara thought, forming a plan in her mind.

'There are way too many soldiers around here. One by one is the best tactic to use here.' She thought.

A soldier walked close by and she grabbed him, slitting his throat in a smooth motion and splattering blood across the ground.

Silently, she dragged his body into the bush.

Another soldier walked near the bush and Sara leapt out, stabbing him in the throat and puncturing the neck.

A soldier looked around confused, when Sara stabbed him in the kidneys. The man let out a light gasp as the air was driven out of his body. Sara covered his mouth with her hand and dragged him away.

Looking around, Sara narrowed her eyes as she scanned two more soldiers around the camp.

Sara snuck up behind the next soldier and wrapped her handkerchief around his throat, strangling him to death.

The last soldier looked around, twirling a sword in his hand. Feeling something, he spun around and Sara ducked to avoid.

Before he could shout, she punched him in the throat, making him gasp in pain. She then kicked him in the knee, staggering him before wrapping her legs around his head and flipping him to the ground.

As the two struggled, Sara wrenched herself upwards and snapped his neck with a sickening crack.

Darius looked around, feeling something was off. None of his men had noticed something was off.

"Idiots." He grumbled, loosening his grip on his ax slightly.

"General, we have located another village, about 6 leagues from here." A soldier said, coming up to him.

"Well done, soldier. We will march there soon." Darius replied, giving him a firm nod.

Darius was about to say something when he was cut off by an explosion.

BOOM!

He whipped around to see a plume of smoke rise into the air.

He rushed forward to see an attractive blonde woman sprinting across the clearing. The roar of the tide echoed through his ears as Darius sprinted after her.

"General?" a soldier asked.

"Find out if there is anyone else!" Darius roared, pursuing the woman. She turned back to face him and stopped.

"You must be the Hand of Noxus." The woman breathed out. Darius furrowed his eyebrows. She spoke in an accent he had never heard before.

"You must be the Outworlder." He said, recognizing her now.

"You know who I am?" Sara asked, shocked.

"I had spies in Demacia report your skills. You are…mediocre, but you have information that could benefit Noxus." He replied.

Sara looked at the Hand of Noxus in amusement, her eyebrow raised slightly.

"Mmmm, how about no? Is that a good answer?" Sara quipped. Darius tightened his grip on his ax and charged towards her.

Sara side-stepped but soon found herself being forced to continually block Darius' swings.

She rolled to avoid a swing and drew her sword, using it to deflect the ax swings, but the pain rang out through her arms.

Darius punched her really hard, sending her tumbling across the ground and into the clearing where the war camp was located.

All the soldiers there turned to see the source of the fight.

Darius ducked to avoid a punch before backhanding Sara in the face and grabbing her head, kneed her abdomen before pushing her off and punching her in the face.

Sara spin kicked Darius right in the face before leaping to avoid an ax swing. Darius picked Sara up by the throat and slammed her to the ground, shattering it as she groaned.

Sara pulled her jacket off, exposing her shirt and toned abs.

"Not bad." Darius allowed. Sara leaned down as blood spilt from her mouth. Getting up, she kicked Darius, but winced as her foot collided with the Black Iron armor.

Sara then grabbed Darius' arm and kneed him before he picked her up by the foot and threw her to the ground. Sara flipped and landed, wincing slightly.

Darius picked up his ax and threw it with all his might. Sara's eyes widened as the ax flew closer.

She barely dove out of the way as the ax struck a stone slab. Had she not moved away in time, the ax would have cleaved her skull in two.

Darius charged at Sara as she flipped to avoid and kicked him in the back of the head. As she tried to attack again, Darius grabbed her arms and pinned her to the ground.

"Kinky." She smirked. Darius narrowed his eyes in annoyance and raised his fist to punch.

Before he could, Sara smashed her forehead into his face, making him reel back slightly.

As he got off of her, Sara felt something awaken within her. Looking down, she noticed smoke rising from her forearms.

"AAARRRRRRRHGGGGHHHHHHHH!" Sara roared, her body bursting into flames briefly, and she felt her strength increase.

Getting up, she charged and punched Darius hard in the face, making blood fly. Sara rammed him against a tree and punched his face extremely hard, shattering part of the trunk.

Grabbing him, Sara threw him to the ground, leaving a lot of the Noxian soldiers completely shocked at the display of raw, primal rage.

Sara picked up Darius and slammed him against a stone slab. She then punched him in the abdomen before hitting his face with a series of haymakers.

Sara punched Darius several times in the abdomen and then gave him an uppercut, making him spit out blood.

As Darius staggered and fell to one knee, Sara gasped, feeling the primal rage evaporate instantly. Her eyes began fluttering and her knees shook, feeling exhaustion beginning to take over.

Darius noticed this and punched Sara, his shear strength sending her flying back several feet and crashing to the ground.

Sara staggered up as Darius rammed into her hard, slamming her and punching her in the abdomen.

Sara gasped, blood spilling from her lips.

"You shouldn't have made me angry." Darius muttered darkly, his rage increasing his strength.

He began strangling Sara as she gasped and choked for air.

Leaping up, she kneed him in the face, making him stagger back slightly. Darius and Sara then faced each other and began punching each other repeatedly.

Sara ducked to avoid a haymaker and uppercutted Darius hard before he gripped and twisted her wrist hard, making her scream in agony.

Spinning her around a few times, he hurled her to the ground brutally. Sara groaned and looked up. This was not good.

Some blood spilt from her mouth as Sara rolled to her feet, clutching her sprained wrist.

Darius punched her a few times in the abdomen and Sara gasped as she felt a rib crack under the weight of the brutal punches.

Darius grabbed her by the throat and pulled her into a brutal head-butt, dazing her further as Sara fell down.

She wrapped her legs around his neck and managed to flip him to the ground, but Darius quickly pulled her off and began strangling her.

"I've had enough of you." He muttered, his eyes now stormy grey. Sara gasped, feeling the life leaving her.

Bringing her knee up, she kneed him in the balls, making Darius grunt in pain as he rolled off.

Sara slowly got up, feeling every bone in her body aching.

Sniffing the air, Sara smirked as she realized the explosives she had set up were ready to blow.

Despite the burning pain, Sara sprinted, just as the explosives went off.

Explosions rang out, lighting up the area as Noxian soldiers scrambled to avoid.

Sara took off down the forest, breathing a heavy sigh.

Sara sat near a waterfall, cleaning off her wounds. The mission had been a success. She had taken down the Noxian troops near the edge. Now she needed to continue on her quest to find the Ionian Boots of Lucidity.

Sara stood up and began walking along the path towards a small village that she had encountered along the way.

'Nice job. Now, the Rebirth of the Legend has begun.' The Aspect of the Wanderer said.

"Who is the Legend?" Sara asked.

"You. You are the Legend. Now it is time to fight in the War.' The Aspect replied.

Sara walked along the dirt path, immersed in her thoughts as she walked along the path.

This was by far, the craziest thing she had ever done. It was a whole new world, a dazzling place she never knew. There were a hundred thousand things to see and do. Runeterra was a world full of unbelievable sights, indescribable feelings.

"You're right. I'm like a shooting star. I've come so far, I can't go back to the way I used to be." Sara muttered, realizing it was true.

She thought back to Bard and said. "Miracles when you move, such an easy thing for you to do. You've never lost a battle."

'No he hasn't.' the Aspect agreed.

Sara began singing-

Fear not this night, you will go astray

Though shadows fall, still the stars find their way

And you can always be strong

Lift your voice with the first light of dawn

Dawn's just a heartbeat away

Hope is just a sunrise away

'You are right, Sara,' the Aspect said. 'Death must be arrested for his crimes against the Multiverse. It is Bard's endless love pouring down on us.'

Sara silently agreed and continued walking.

She needed to find the Boots, and then she could go home. But she would stand with Ionia and fight against Noxus.

Noxus. Sara spat in disgust. A country of barbarians. She definitely didn't like them. Though the fact that Darius knew she was from another world unsettled her.

Sensing something, Sara stopped just as an arrow hit the ground next to her. More arrows came hurtling at her from the sky and Sara spun around, slicing one with her sword.

More arrows came and Sara turned to sprint away at top speed, as the arrows rained like fireworks.

"That village is close by. I have had it with these damn Noxians!" Sara snarled in anger.

And this chapter is done too. But the battle is far from over. Now its Sara vs the entire Noxian unit. And an angry Noxian is not someone you want to fight.

But now the Rebirth of the Legend has finally begun.

So a new champion has been introduced and it's Darius aka The Hand of Noxus.

His lore is good in my opinion. It's far from the best, but it's still good IMO. He's also my 4th faviroute Noxian champion.

Hope the fights were enjoyed in this. For anyone wondering, Sara managed to tap into her primal rage by getting angry enough, which briefly increased her strength to the point where she's beating Darius back. Basically, she briefly tapped into the Volibear's rage do so.

Under normal circumstances, Sara can't beat Darius. She can beat a lot of champions, but Darius isn't one of them.

That rage scene was inspired by Kratos' Spartan Rage in the 2018 God of War game, and imagine it looking similar to it with similar abilities. Only difference is this one leaves Sara drained and exhausted afterwards.

Next chapter is going to feature a major plot point that I think you'll all enjoy. Plus, it advances the overall story further.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
