Disclaimer: I do not own League of Legends or anything else you may recognize

Thank you to everyone who has favirouted, followed or reviewed this fic so far.

Before we start, I would like to address the guest reviewer in the comments who likes to say my stories are shit- who's put a gun to your head, forcing you to read my stories?

I understand that lots of fandoms might get really annoying, but nobody except you seems to care about that.

So what if I'm obsessed with League of Legends? Who died and made you king? If I want to write a million fics about it, I can do just that. My series, my rules.

Also, I find it hilarious that you claim I'm anti-Arrowverse, when I haven't written anything Arrowverse related in over a year.

Seriously, the last time I wrote anything purely Arrowverse related was 'Dawn of the Thunderbolts', which was in September last year.

I don't even care about the Arrowverse anymore because of how terrible it has become. It'll probably feature in 2 or 3 more stories of this series, 4 maybe, and that's it.

Most of my planned Arrowverse stories have been replaced by League of Legends stories, since League of Legends is infinitely superior to the Arrowverse, no comparison there.

Now away with you! I don't want to see you anymore on any story of mine. And any reviews you leave will be deleted. I have better things to do than deal with your crap.

To everyone else, sorry you had to read that. Anyway, this chapter will have Sara collecting the Boots, so hope everyone's excited.

Chapter 21- Claiming the Boots

Runeterra, Ionia

Sara, Master Yi, Ahri and Lillia traveled along a river bank. Sara smiled for the first time in days, taking in the fresh air.

"We should be nearing Shon-Xan." Master Yi spoke.

"That's where the Boots are, right?" Sara looked at him.

"Yes they are. Though I do not know which dangers lay there." He replied.

Ahri looked around at the area, saddened by the destruction.

"Noxians…" Sara snarled. "Once we finish this quest, we're going to defeat them all."

"You're damn right we will." Ahri clenched his fists.

Lillia slowly trotted along, immersed in her own thoughts.

Sara smelt the bodies before she saw them. She stopped in her tracks, seeing a severed arm lying on the ground.

A few feet away, a man's torso laid there, dried blood splattered across the yellow grass.

"What the fuck?" she whispered in horror, feeling sick to her stomach.

Ahri slowly knelt on the ground, tears welling in her eyes.

"Oh Gods." Lillia gasped.

Master Yi lowered his head in sadness at the loss of life, feeling pained at the reminder of his lost village.

"Bastards." Ahri cursed. Sara looked at the Vastayan woman in shock, having never heard her swear before.

"We…should get going." Master Yi said slowly.

"Yeah." Sara said, tearing her eyes away from the gruesome scene. The four continued walking, coming across more dead bodies.

"This wasn't conquest. This was random slaughter," Master Yi growled. "Men, women, children. None escaped."

Sara gently put a hand on his shoulder and he looked up at her with a nod. Ahri, for once, was not flirting with anyone.

She squeezed Sara's hand while Lillia clutched her staff tightly, willing herself not to break down.

"We will avenge this." Lillia muttered.

"She's right. This will not go unpunished." Ahri agreed.

"No. No it will not." Sara nodded, as the 4 continued walking.

Later, evening

Sara, Ahri, Lillia and Master Yi had made a small camp near a cave in some mountains separating the regions of Navori and Shon-Xan.

Ahri had lit a fire and now the four sat around it, watching the orange flames crackle.

"I will get those Boots." Sara vowed, and the others heard her.

"We'll help you." Ahri promised.

"My village was destroyed," Master Yi said solemnly. "I won't let any others suffer the same fate."

"No. It we won't." Lillia agreed.

"This world is truly one of a kind." Sara said, looking up at the starry night sky.

"Indeed it is. There are many dark places. But still there is much that is fair." Master Yi said.

"True," Sara said. "Ionia really is a nice place."

"Thank you." Ahri said with a flattered smile.

"Tell me; is there poetry on your world?" Master Yi asked.

"Yes. I have some faviroutes. Such as 'Ozymandias' by a poet named Percy Bysshe Shelley'."

"Tell us." Lillia said, leaning forward.

"I met a traveler from an antique land who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone stand in the desert. Near them, on the sand, half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown, and wrinkled lip, and sneer of cold command, tell that its sculptor well those passions read, which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things. The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed." Sara recited.

"Is that it?" Ahri asked.

"Not even close." Sara smirked.

She then recited the final part. "And on the pedestal these words appear; my name is Ozymandias, king of kings; look on my works ye Mighty, and despair! Nothing beside remains. Round the decay of that colossal wreck, boundless and bear. The Lone and level sands stretch far away."

There was crackling silence for a few moments, before Master Yi's face broke into a grin.

"That was wonderful," he complimented. "I one day wish to meet this man."

"Yeah, about that…" Sara trailed off.

"He is dead, isn't he?" Lillia guessed.

"Long time. Like several hundred years." Sara shrugged.

"Damn." Ahri commented.

"Ancient Wuju poems talk about the Redeemer. Bard." Master Yi spoke.

"I met Bard once." Sara commented.

"You did?" Ahri asked, looking at her friend in shock.

"Yes. A year ago." Sara said vaguely, but didn't go into more details.

"Bard is the God of Gods." Lillia said.

"Yeah, he really is." Sara agreed.

"The dreams of Men have been corrupted," Lillia said in her distinctive Scottish drawl. "I need to save them."

"Noxians caused it." Sara sighed.

"They did."

"Sara, I'm sorry for trying to drain your soul." Ahri said with remorse.

"Ahri, it's okay. That was like two weeks ago. I forgive you." Sara said gently.

Ahri sighed, feeling a great weight being lifted from her shoulders.

"After we get these Boots, we will go take on the forces of Noxus. Vengeance will be delivered." Sara vowed.

"And we will, together." Master Yi vowed.

"Especially the youngster over here." Ahri smirked at Sara.

"Youngster? I'm 20 years old for God's sake!" Sara said, annoyed.

"20? Wow, you are a baby." Ahri chuckled.

"How old are you guys?" Sara asked.

"I'm 36 years old." Master Yi shrugged.

"Almost 70." Lillia said, blushing slightly.

"150 years old." Ahri smirked at the blonde woman, who was now sputtering.

"How?" Sara sputtered.

"I'm a Vastaya. We age slower than humans." Ahri smirked.

"When we've been here for 10,000 years, we shall have no less days to sing Bard's praise, then when we first begun." Lillia vowed.

"We will." Sara nodded.

"I've told the truth, I didn't come to fool any of you." Master Yi said.

"No. You didn't." Sara agreed.

The four continued talking into the night, growing closer to each other.

Shon-Xan, the next day

Sara's boots crunched on the ground as she walked.

"We are nearing the pool where the Boots are hidden." Lillia said, blinking rapidly.

"What the heck are they doing there?" Sara asked.

"I don't know. Elders tended to hide relics in odd places, luv." Lillia shrugged.

Ahri stopped in her place, seeing hoof-prints in the dirt.

Getting down on one knee, she began sniffing the ground, her fox ears twitching as they did so.

"What now, Ahri?" Sara asked in annoyance.

"I sense deer nearby." Ahri said, beginning to panic.

"So? Deer are everywhere. I fail to see the problem." Sara rolled her eyes.

"These are flesh eating deer!" Ahri said, looking like she was about to start hyperventilating.

"Wait, what?" Sara did a double take; sure she had misheard the Nine-Tailed Fox.

Lillia and Master Yi also looked horrified, and Lillia began trembling slightly.

"Flesh eating deer are rare, but extremely dangerous. They roam these areas, eating any travellers. Their skin is impenetrable, as they are creatures of the Spirit Realm. Makes sense the Boots would be guarded by them." Master Yi explained, looking horrified himself.

"Oh, this isn't gonna be good." Lillia muttered to herself.

"Is there anyway to avoid the deer?" Sara asked.

"No. Unless there is other flesh nearby, then no." Ahri shook her head sadly.

Sara let out a sigh of frustration.

"Okay, well, we'll figure out a plan on the way. Ahri, how close to the Boots are we?"

"About one mile from here. Lillia and I should be able to find the exact source of it." Ahri said.

"All right. Let's do this. Yi, cover us please." Sara nodded to the Wuju Bladesman.

"I will." Master Yi promised, drawing his blade.

Sara walked behind Ahri, with Lillia to her right, and Master Yi behind her. They were on a short mountain pass, with a forest covered valley below them.

"I sense the Boots to be close by. Be careful." Ahri warned.

Master Yi suddenly stopped and Sara looked over at him.

"What is it?" she asked.

"Noxians!" he said.

"Oh shit! How close?" Sara asked.

"Close enough for them to be a concern." He replied.

"Okay, Ahri, please tell me we're here already." Sara said.

"Just a little bit. Shut up now." The Vastayan woman replied in annoyance.

Ahri walked briskly, finally stopping near a gaping cave.

"Here, the Boots are inside." Ahri reported.

"Okay, I will get the Boots," Sara said. "Yi, please stay outside and make sure no Noxians follow me."

"A bit too late for that." Lillia said, looking down the path where almost two dozen Noxian soldiers had emerged.

"Sara, go, find the Boots!" Ahri said, her eyes beginning to glow blue as an orb of energy formed in her hands. "We will hold them off!"

"For Ionia!" Master Yi exhorted, drawing his blade.

Lillia gripped her staff tightly, almost trembling with fear.

"I will." Sara nodded. "You guys be careful please. I won't be happy if ya'all get yourselves killed."

"We will." Ahri promised.

Ahri leaned over and kissed Sara on the cheek as the latter blushed slightly. Ahri gave her a wink as Sara turned to run into the cave, drawing her sword as she did so.

Ahri, Lillia and Master Yi charged towards the Noxian forces together.

Sara made her way through the dark cave, moving through some winding tunnels. She gripped her sword tightly as she did so.

Finally, the darkness gave way to a mysterious, purple light.

Sara peeked out, seeing the entire area was filled with some small trees and a river full of purple colored water. Some deer were drinking from the river.

A pair of bronze colored boots lay on a stone alter in the middle of the water, with some steps around it.

"The Boots." Sara smiled, feeling the rush of excitement at the prospect of going home.

As silently as she could, she dropped out of the cave and landed on the ground. Sara slowly made her way to the river.

As she did so, the deer turned to face her and snarled.

"Fuck." Sara sighed.

The deer charged at once towards her. Panicking, Sara ran back and scrambled towards the drop, grabbing onto the rock with her hands and ignoring the sharp pain.

Sara barely hauled herself up before the deer snapped in the air. Sara looked down as one of the deer bared its teeth, and instead of normal teeth, it was fangs.

"What kind of fucking deer are these? Fangs?" Sara demanded in horror.

Sara stayed inside the cave, trying to figure out a new plan. Once the deer left, Sara dropped back down.

This time, she crept to the other side of the river bank, making sure the deer were nowhere near her.

"Come on." She murmured.

Sara made her way to the other side, but froze in her tracks. A deer was right there.

"Nice bamby." She gulped.

It turned to face her, and Sara gulped, turning to run right back to the cave entrance.

The deer bolted after her, bellowing. She jumped and landed on the mouth of the entrance, wiggling her legs she pulled herself through.

Ahri gave an uppercut to a Noxian, sending it flying through the air. Another came to attack, but Ahri did a powerful spin kick.

Master Yi spun in a circle, slicing several soldiers, while Lillia struck another with her staff.

But more kept coming.

"Sara, can you hurry the hell up?" Ahri muttered to herself.

What none of them noticed were several Noxian soldiers making their way into the cave too.

Sara sat in the cave, trying to formulate a new plan in her mind.

"Bah, this shit's useless." She grumbled. It wasn't going to work. The deer had proved to be too dangerous.

Hearing something, Sara scrambled into a tunnel on her right and waited. Several Noxian soldiers emerged into the tunnel.

"Oh we hit the jackpot here." One said.

"The Grand General is going to reward us well for finding this magical relic." Another commented.

"The Boots." Sara muttered in realization. As she did so, her eyes brightened and she inwardly smirked.

As the Noxians dropped into the enclosed cave area one by one, Sara jumped in after them.

"Let's get this damn relic and get out of here." The first Noxian said.

"Yeah." A second agreed.

Sara ran and jump-kicked a Noxian into several others. They all tumbled forward, shouting and cursing.

"WHO DID THAT?!" the leader roared.

"INCOMING!" another screamed.

Sara whipped around to see a deer charging towards the Noxians. Sara ran and hid behind a nearby bush.

The deer all charged and began literally ripping into the Noxians. Sara winced at the sound of bones breaking and flesh being torn.

The Noxians' dying screams echoed through Sara's ears and she shuddered. Soon, there was no part of them left, except for pieces of torn flesh and bone left on the ground, as well as their armor.

Happy and content, the deer turned to trot away, eventually resting around the river.

"Aw, for fuck's sake?!" Sara groaned in annoyance.

Sara carefully crept around slowly, making her way around the deer, being careful not to accidentally awaken them.

She jumped from one step to another, finally flipping and landing on the step in front of the alter.

"Finally." Sara said, hope rising within her for the first time in over a year.

Sara took the bronze colored Ionian Boots of Lucidity in her hands and turned to jump across the steps across the river.

As she turned, one of the deer had awoken and was glaring at her.

"Not again." She groaned. The deer bellowed and charged at her. Ignoring the sharp pain in her knee, Sara ran up the cave entrance and jumped.

The deer bellowed after and tried to jump, but couldn't.

She crawled back the way she came, blinking as harsh daylight poured into her eyes.

Once her eyes readjusted, Sara noticed Ahri brawling with a Noxian soldier.

Putting the Boots down behind a rock, Sara moved forward and elbowed the Noxian solider in the face before kicking him in the abdomen. She threw him to Ahri who took him down with a spin kick to the face.

"Thanks." Ahri panted.

"Welcome." Sara nodded.

"Did you get it?" Ahri then asked.

Sara lifted up the Boots with a proud smirk.

Ahri's face brightened.

"Hell yes!" she exclaimed, grabbing her face and kissing Sara on the lips.

Sara's eyes widened at the unexpected kiss, but she began blushing at that.

Master Yi and Lillia also emerged into the area, sweating.

"You got the Boots?" Lillia asked.

"You're damn right I did!" Sara smirked.

"Well done." Master Yi said with a proud smirk.

"Well, what now?" Lillia asked.

"Now, we're going to join Ionia in the war against Noxus." Sara said. "Where do we go?"

"I heard rumors that lots of Ionians were falling back to the Placidium in Navori." Lillia said.

"Then that is where we go." Sara said, clenching her fists.

"It's time for war." Ahri smirked.

And this is done too.

So Sara has finally recovered the Ionian Boots of Lucidity. Hope that part was enjoyed. No sympathies for the Noxian soldiers though.

Hope all the interactions were enjoyed. 'Ozymandias' is my second faviroute poem of all time, so just thought I'd reference it here. Plus, it honestly fits the world of Runeterra.

It has been stated that no new Vastaya have been born in centuries, so I made Ahri around 150 years old, as I think it would make sense.

So now Sara, Ahri, Lillia and Master Yi will finally join the war effort, but because of some changes I'm making, some stuff will happen quicker, so the Ionia/Noxus War will last for a few more chapters.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
