Disclaimer: I do now own League of Legends or anything else you may recognize

Thank you to everyone who has favirouted, followed or reviewed this fic so far.

So I recently watched Eternals, and all I can say is WTF was that? Honestly, except for Shang-Chi, the MCU has been on a downward spiral since Endgame. The concept of the Eternals is interesting, but the execution was really horrible.

On the other hand, I watched the first 3 episodes of Arcane. Man, this is the best show I've watched in all of 2021. All I will say is that if you haven't seen it, then you are missing out on a ton of stuff.

Vander was an absolute chad in it. I honestly enjoyed him more than I thought I would. Probably my faviroute character in the show so far, with Viktor in a close second, and Jayce in third.

*SPOILERS* Singed making a cameo was unexpected, but not unwelcome. Honestly though, if Vander turns out be Warwick, I would not be surprised. END SPOILERS*

Overall, it was amazing, and I can't wait to see the next 3 episodes when they release.

This chapter will be long, and will wrap up the Ionia/Noxus War arc, so hope all are excited.

Chapter 25- Unforgiven

Runeterra, Ionia

Sara and Ahri walked out of a clearing towards a large village up ahead.

"So this is the place?" Sara asked.

"Yes it is. They can help." Ahri said, a serious look on her face.

The two walked towards it. Several villagers stopped to look at the two, while whispering, but neither Sara nor Ahri paid them any attention.

"Who exactly are we looking for?" Sara asked.

"The famed Elder Souma." Ahri replied. "He is the last user of the famed Wind Technique."

"Oh!" Sara said.

The two walked towards a temple. On the steps, two young men were arguing about something.

"Brother, I can end this war!" the younger man said. He was wearing a blue cloak and his dark hair was tied in a ponytail behind.

The older man had light stubble on his chin, as well as two swords strapped to his sides.

"Your duty is to this school. To your master. To Ionia." He replied calmly.

"Then I should be out there protecting her!" the younger man said roughly. His eyes softened as he said. "Yone, I won't fail you."

Yone lowered his head in sadness. "It seems I have already failed you, Yasuo."

Ahri politely coughed and both swordsmen turned to face the women.

"I'm Ahri." The Vastayan woman said with a small wave.

"Sara Lance." She introduced herself. Yone and Yasuo exchanged surprised looks and turned to face them.

"You're Sara Lance?" Yone asked, surprised.

"Yes."

"We're here to ask for your aid in the War." Ahri said.

Yone let out a sigh of frustration and said. "I was joining the other weapon-masters. Perhaps you two can charm some sense into my foolish brother."

Yasuo glared at his brother as Yone walked away.

Yasuo then turned his attention to Sara with narrowed eyes and smiled inwardly. Sara was easily the most attractive woman he had ever met.

Her honey blonde hair shimmered in the morning sun and she smiled lightly at him.

Sara subtly eyed Yasuo up and down, trailing up his ripped form. She felt the blood rising to her cheeks as she blushed. She hadn't slept with anyone in over 5 years, and it was starting to show.

Ahri noticed the two eyeing each other up and down, feeling their similar emotions and struggled not to burst into uncontrollable laughter.

Her leg started shaking and she bit the inside of her mouth.

Thankfully, she was saved by the appearance of Yone.

"The Noxian forces are approaching from the south," he revealed. "I shall go with a few others to counter that."

"You going too?" Ahri asked, looking at Yasuo.

The young swordsman glared angrily. "I am forced to stay here, to guard Elder Souma."

"Oh, makes sense." Sara said.

"I told you brother; there is no shame in staying behind. Yours is an honorable position." Yone said.

Yasuo shook his head and stormed off.

"I'll talk to him." Sara said.

Yone shot her a look that said. 'I doubt that.'

"I'll prepare for this fight." Ahri said, rubbing her hands as she smirked.

Sara shared a smile with her friend before walking into the temple. Yasuo was pacing about, clenching his fists in anger.

He stopped and turned to face Sara. She squirmed slightly under his gaze, feeling her cheeks burn red.

"Something you want to say, Lady Lance?" Yasuo asked carefully. As angry as he was, he would never disrespect a lady.

"Staying behind isn't a sin, Yasuo." Sara said softly.

"But I can help end this war."

"Maybe. Maybe not. No one really knows how this fight will end." Sara said sadly. She unconsciously touched her knee as she said that.

Yasuo now looked at her with soft eyes.

"Fair enough, Lady Lance." He said.

"Just call me Sara." She waved him off.

"All right then…Sara." Yasuo said, rolling her name over her tongue.

Sara smiled at him and said. "I don't you that well, Yasuo, but you've got a good heart."

With that, she turned to walk away.

Later

Sara and Ahri sat on a rock together, overlooking the woods, and the starry sky.

"Well, I've heard news of unrest in Noxus. Somebody's doing a coup." Ahri said.

"Hopefully this war ends soon." Sara sighed. She didn't show anyone, but it was slowly taking a toll on her.

"I hope so too, girl." Ahri agreed.

The two sat in silence for a few moments, before Ahri's eyes widened in horror.

"What is it, Ahri?" Sara asked, looking at her friend in confusion.

"The Noxians are approaching…and Yasuo is gone!" Ahri said, paling.

"WHAT?!" Sara exploded.

"Yes. It seems Yasuo went to go fight them." Ahri said.

"I need to stop him before he does something stupid." Sara muttered, slowly standing up.

"I'll go with you." Ahri nodded.

Sara took a deep breath and took off running down the pathway that led out the village. Ahri intentionally slowed down, so she didn't outrun Sara.

Sara froze in her tracks on smelling the fumes of chemical gas still fresh in the air.

"What the fuck happened here?" she asked, looking around. The grass was singed, and did not look like it would ever regrow.

"I smell death, and dying here!" Ahri sniffed around.

Sara heard a soft moan and turned to see a dying Noxian solider lying on the ground. His armor was burnt off, and his face and skin were blackened.

"What the hell happened here?" she asked, kneeling down to him.

"We…were ambushed…by our men. They…threw acid bombs. Killed everyone here." The soldier replied weakly.

He laid his head back and stopped breathing.

Sara felt a pang of sadness. Sure, she didn't like Noxians, but no one deserved a fate like this.

Ahri also looked saddened at that.

"Where's Yasuo?" she asked, looking around.

Sara didn't answer, her eyes still glued to the corpses.

"This…this isn't war. This is carnage." She whispered.

"Yes it is." Ahri said sadly.

Sara slowly stood up, tears in her eyes.

"They did not deserve this." She said.

Ahri sensed something and turned back.

"We need to get back." She said.

When Sara and Ahri returned to the village, it was in chaos. People were all talking, and some bodies were covered with silk.

"What's going on?" Sara asked, looking around.

Yone was the closest person to them and he looked at them with a mixture of disbelief and grief.

"Yasuo…he murdered the Elder." He said.

"Wait, what?" Sara did a double take. That couldn't possibly be true.

"He was the only one who knew the Wind Technique. He murdered him." Yone said bitterly.

Sara lowered her head. Yasuo was hot-headed, sure, but he hardly seemed like the type of person to turn traitor. Something wasn't right here.

"The Council asked me to find my brother. I must bring him in." Yone said firmly, clenching his fist.

Sara and Ahri traded looks as the latter gestured for her to follow her.

"What is it?" Sara asked as they moved away.

"You need to find Yasuo. Something is not right here." Ahri shook her head.

"Me?" Sara asked, confused.

"Only you. Please, you need to do this. For us." Ahri said.

"…Fine." Sara nodded. She and Ahri touched foreheads, and smiled.

"I'll go." Sara said.

A week later

Sara carefully followed a dirt path and there were muddy prints. She had been tracking Yasuo down for an entire week since he supposedly killed his master.

The trail picked up. Storm clouds gathered ahead and Sara picked up her pace.

"Come on, Yasuo, where are you?" she muttered.

The trail gave way to a massive barren area, weeds here and there. Tall rocks surrounded the area.

To her horror, Yone was already there, facing Yasuo, the two brothers facing each other on opposite sides of the field.

"Brother, look around at the carnage!" Yasuo spat. "Your honor stains the ground."

"Better than living without it!" Yone roared, charging towards Yasuo at an inhuman speed.

Their weapons clashed, producing a shockwave. Sara made to stop the fight, but found herself unable to move.

"Move, legs move!" she grunted.

Yasuo slid across the ground, forming a divot in the ground.

Yone charged again and Yasuo charged to meet him as well.

'If I don't do something, they will murder each other.' She thought to herself.

Sara gulped and drew her sword, charging across the field towards the two swordsmen and ignoring the pain in her knee.

Just as the two swordsmen clashed, Sara put her own blade in the way to block. A shockwave was produced, and Sara screamed, her ears beginning to ring.

She staggered back, dazed. Yone and Yasuo both stared at her in shock.

"Both of you knock this shit off, right now!" she yelled, regaining her senses.

Yasuo stepped back slightly.

"I did not kill my master!" he snarled.

"Then why are you running?" Yone retorted.

"Oh I don't know, maybe the fact that people here are trying to kill him?" Sara asked sarcastically.

Yasuo shot Sara a look but she simply stared back at him.

"Regardless, you must come back with me, Brother." Yone shook his head.

"NO! I will prove my innocence, by myself if I have to." Yasuo roared.

Yone moved at lightning speed but Yasuo blocked in a spin motion.

"Oh for the God's sake!" Sara groaned. She tried to get in between but Yasuo knocked her aside in time and deflected Yone's strike.

He pushed hard and Yone flew through the air, back-flipping and landing on the ground.

Yone got into a stance, preparing to charge again. Yasuo sheathed his sword and put a hand on it.

The rain was pouring buckets, wetting Sara's hair as she pushed it behind her head.

Yone charged again, and Yasuo blocked at superhuman speed. To Sara's shock, the shockwave stopped the rain completely.

"What the-?" Sara trailed off, unable to believe Yasuo was this powerful.

Yone staggered back, wincing as pain spread up his arms.

"Stop this, Brother, before you get hurt." Yasuo warned.

"I will not listen to a traitor like you!" Yone spat, preparing to fight again. Sara slowly staggered up, while Yasuo simply sighed, unable to reason with him.

Yasuo got into a fighting stance, while Sara twirled her sword and threw it at Yone.

Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the blade coming at him and threw his arm up, using his own sword to deflect it.

Sara's blade struck the ground and lay there.

"Well, that didn't go according to plan." Sara said lamely.

Yasuo met Yone and the two furiously clashed their weapons, expertly dodging or blocking the other's attacks.

Yasuo ducked under a sword strike and Yone also blocked one from him.

Yasuo struck and Yone deflected before spinning. Yasuo backed to avoid and raised his blade to quickly deflect a strike.

The two leapt back. Sara sensed something was about to go down, and began running, while Yone leapt again to strike.

But Yasuo was faster.

As Yone leapt, Yasuo brought his own blade up…and stabbed him right through the heart.

"NOOOOO!" Sara cried out. Yasuo gasped in horror at what he had just done. Yone slumped, his blades dropping from his hands.

"Brother!" Yasuo gasped, embracing the dying Yone.

Sara was almost half a mile from them, but she ignored her pain and kept running.

"I am no murderer." Yasuo said sadly.

"Then why…are you running?" Yone whispered. He took a breath and then slumped forward, his eyes closing.

Yone was dead.

Sara ran up, right as Yasuo laid the dead Yone on the ground.

"You killed your own brother?" she asked in horror.

"I never meant to!" Yasuo whispered in horror, sounding like he was about to have a mental breakdown.

Sara touched his hand and nodded in acknowledgment.

"Shit happens. But it's shit when shit happens." She said.

Sara slowly knelt by Yone's body, tears pooling in her eyes. She felt sympathy for Yasuo, and she felt sadness for Yone for being dead.

She looked up at Yasuo, his head lowered. A lone tear rolled down his face.

"Go." She said to him. Deep down, she knew he didn't kill the Elder. But he needed to flee, before the real killer was brought to justice.

"What?" Yasuo asked, looking at her with wide eyes.

"Find out who did it. I'll tell the Council that I tried to find you, but you were gone, and Yone died accidentally. I'm going to go notify the Council that your brother is dead." Sara said softly.

Yasuo looked at her with haunted eyes and nodded. Slowly standing up, he raised his hand in farewell, and then sped off in a blur of blue.

Sara looked down, deciding to leave Yone here.

"Farewell, old friend." She whispered sadly.

A few days later

Sara stood by the shore of Ionia, watching the waves lap. Hearing footsteps, she turned to see Ahri walk up to her.

"Hey." She greeted sadly.

"Sara, I have news." Ahri said, her eyes glinting with excitement.

"What is it?" she asked.

"The War is over!" Ahri beamed. "That coup I mentioned? They pulled all their forces from Ionia."

"Wait, they did?" Sara asked, shocked, and overjoyed.

"Hell yes they did!" Ahri grinned. "Finally, the War is over."

Overjoyed, Sara and Ahri hugged each other, laughing happily.

"What happens now?" Sara asked once they pulled away.

"I don't know," Ahri admitted. "Are you going to leave Ionia now?"

"Probably, yes," Sara sighed. "A year ago, I said that I hoped I got the chance to travel Runeterra. But back then I didn't have any plans."

Ahri nodded sadly.

"I'll come back to Ionia," Sara promised. "Right now, I'm thinking about returning to Demacia, until I find another relic."

"All right. Thank you, Sara. For being my friend." Ahri said, holding out her hand.

Instead, Sara hugged the Vastayan woman, and she hugged her back.

"I'll see you one other day now." Sara whispered.

The two pulled away and looked at each other sadly.

"Please, promise you will return and help save this world." Ahri said.

"I will. You have my word." Sara vowed.

"It reminds of something Ivern told me to tell you," Ahri said. "May it be an evening star shines down upon you. May it be the shadows call will fly away. May it be when darkness falls; your heart will be true."

Sara had tears in her eyes as she silently thanked Ivern for his kindness.

"May it be you journey on to light the day. You walk a lonely road, oh how far you are from home. When the night is overcome, you may rise to find the Sun." Ahri whispered.

Sara smiled one last time at her friend, and then turned to a boat on the sand. Pushing it into the water, she climbed in and waved one last time to Ahri.

As the boat sailed out, Sara heard these words echoing through her mind-

A promise lives within you.

Sara looked around and smiled sadly, feeling as though Runeterra was beginning to become her home.

As she looked around, her eyes drooped and she felt herself slowly blacking out.

Unknown location, some time later

Sara gasped as she awoke. The first thing she noticed was the sand in her mouth, which she promptly spat out.

Looking around, her eyes widened on noticing that she was no longer on the sea. Instead, she was in a desert.

"What the…"

'Now you will have to struggle to survive. You'll have to lose it all to win the fight; you'll have to fall so many times.'

And this is done. So the Ionia/Noxus War arc is over at last.

And two new champions were introduced. The first is Yasuo aka The Unforgiven.

And the second is Yone aka The Unforgotten.

Yasuo is my 2nd faviroute champion overall in the lore and he is an S tier champion. An absolutely essential read IMO.

Yone is a solid A tier. His lore is very good and he is progressing the lore of Runeterra further.

RIP Yone though.

So now Sara has woken up in a desert. Pretty sure lore fans will know where that is.

So now the second arc of this story will begin, and that is going to be more exciting.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
