Disclaimer: I do not own Marvel Cinematic Universe, Buffyverse or anything else you may recognize

This is an idea I originally had for my 200th fic, but I made it a Tillow/Cangel happy ending fic on a whim, so figured I could do this now instead, since Brainstorm gave me this idea then, and today's the day he joined the FF site a year ago, so figured it'd be nice to post it today, and thank you very much to him for the idea.

Also, Steve is clean-shaven in this.

For Buffy, this starts between 5x6 and 5x7.

Hope all enjoy.

Steve was alone in the safehouse, with Sam and Wanda having gone off to sleep in their rooms nearby, and then came in Natasha, looking grim.

"What is it, Nat?" Steve asked her.

She put her tablet down and said. "Had a little chat with Fury."

Steve was interested as he sat down in front of her and she told him. "Apparently, there's this superhuman in Sunnydale, a woman, who fights evil there."

"Like, crime and all that?" Steve asked.

"No, supernatural stuff, Vampires and Demons, they exist, she fights them", Natasha revealed to Steve.

"Would have been surprised, but after Gods and aliens, not surprising", Steve told her. "Who is she?"

Natasha showed him a picture of a young woman, who seemed to be around 20, and she was blonde and petite, and quite beautiful too.

"Her name is Buffy Summers, she's the Slayer, apparently they are chosen at random in every generation to fight supernatural evil, and when one dies, another is called, Fury didn't explain how it worked, said he had contacts in a group that mentors Slayers", Natasha explained to him.

"And why are you telling me this?" Steve asked.

"Apparently, Ross knows about her, and is sending an illegal elite force to capture her", Natasha revealed as Steve's eyes widened in horror.

"Well, he needs to be stopped", Steve then immediately said in a firm tone.

"What do we do?" Natasha asked him.

"Well, Wanda and Sam are tired, I think we should go, you be on the lookout, let me know if things go wrong, or if more are coming, I'll take the force down", Steve assured Natasha.

"You got it", Natasha assured him as they shared a smile.

Sunnydale, night time

Buffy had staked a few Vampires and was now going back home, wondering how to protect Dawn from Glory, when suddenly a truck stopped behind her.

She continued walking when some men got out of the truck, and one of them fired a restraining collar at her, but Buffy sensed in time and ducked to avoid, letting it fall down, and turned to see the soldiers there.

"Who are you?" Buffy asked, getting defensive. "Initiative?"

Out of the truck stepped Thaddeus Ross. There were no cameras around and Buffy won't be able to tell anyone once he got her, so he felt confident enough showing his face.

"I am Secretary of State, Miss Summers, and I had friends at the Initiative, I know all about you", Ross told her.

"Sorry, not joining your merry band, especially since you fired a collar at me first", Buffy told him.

"We don't want you to join, we just want your power, we don't care how we get it, and there is no choice here", Ross told her, and now it was clear to Buffy what these people wanted.

"You're not taking me", Buffy snarled.

"Oh we are, and if you try to resist, your friends, your mother, your sister will all be joining you too", Ross snarled as Buffy glared, and the men fired again but Buffy ducked to avoid and rolled to the men.

She kicked one down, then getting up, punched another hard in the abdomen, sending him flying off, and grabbing a third by the arm, flipped him to the ground with full force, taking him out as well.

Another tried to strike but she blocked with her elbow and struck his face hard, sending him falling to the floor as he was knocked out as well.

She then kicked another away, only for one to tase her from behind, making her convulse violently, and that was all the opening the rest needed as they were upon Buffy, hitting her with their rods, sending electric shocks through her as she fell down, slowly losing consciousness.

"If any of her friends or family try to find her and get too close, we know what to do", Ross told his men and they nodded while Buffy passed out, and they picked her up, putting her in the back of their truck while chaining her, and put a collar around her neck to negate her strength.

With that, they drove off.

It had been about 15 minutes now and the truck was on the outskirts of Sunnydale, about to make away with Buffy, but little did Ross and his men know that good people had been tipped off to their actions.

There were trees on either side of the road, and then suddenly out of one tree leapt Steve Rogers, right at side of the truck's front, feet pointed outward, and he managed to shatter the glass on the side, getting into the truck as his feet hit the driver, ramming him into the soldier on the side, and both were sent flying off of the truck.

Steve then quickly took his place on the driver's seat and muttered. "Sorry Buffy."

With that, he drove at a really fast speed, and then steered the truck sideways, sending everyone in the back tumbling around and hitting their heads, and then he put his foot on the brake, stopping the truck in an instant as Ross and the soldiers behind were thrown here and there to the ground, being knocked down or out, but Buffy was safe due to being chained up, though Steve's actions woke her up.

Steve then got out of the truck and running behind, kicked the doors open, and Buffy's eyes were wide on seeing him. "Captain America?"

Steve rushed in and snapped the chains, then saw the keys hanging off of one knocked out guard's pocket, and took them out, undoing the collar on her neck, and helped her out. "Come on."

They backed off as the soldiers started coming too, but Steve put his foot on the truck's back, and kicked it hard, sending it further as they fell down, knocked out again, but Ross and two more men got out at the last moment, rolling down and hitting the ground as they got up, looking at Steve.

The soldiers pointed at their guns as Ross smirked. "The Slayer and Captain Rogers both, this is a good day."

"You are going to leave this town and never come back", Steve said immediately.

"Why's that?" Ross asked.

"Because if you don't my friend over there will blow your head off, unlike me she won't hesitate", Steve said, gesturing to a tree, and Natasha was there, aiming a sniper rifle right at Ross' head, and she could get him before the thugs fired at her.

She waved with a cheeky smirk, keeping her aim there, and Ross sneered at Steve. "Well played, Captain."

He then walked off, his men following him, and they got back in the truck, driving away.

Steve turned to Buffy. "You didn't hit your head too hard, did you?"

"Know, I was chained up, didn't hit anywhere", Buffy said, looking awed as she looked Steve up and down. "It's really you, thank you."

"No problem, I'm not going to let Ross take good people away just for having superpowers and fighting bad guys because of it", Steve assured her as they walked together. "Some friends of mine who know about Sunnydale and the Slayer told me about you and what Ross planned. Impressive work you've been doing here."

"Thanks", Buffy said, giving a flattered smile. "Will he be back?"

"Doubt it, but if he is, we'll take him down", Steve assured her.

Buffy wasn't sure what to say. She actually had a huge crush on Captain America when she was a teenage girl, and it was still present actually. Even when he was a fugitive, she had her crush.

Now he had just saved her, and was being so nice and gentlemanly, she had no idea how to react.

"Well, there's a lot more stuff I and my friends have to do, so I guess I have to go now", Steve told Buffy, who seemed a little disappointed.

"Will I see you again?" She asked.

"Don't know", Steve sighed honestly.

Buffy nodded and kissed him on the cheek. "Thanks still, I appreciate it."

Steve nodded and they shared a smile and walked off.

Later

"OH MY GOD! CAPTAIN AMERICA?!" Dawn screamed at full volume, making the others cover their ears at her squealing. Her reaction to Captain America saving Buffy had taken over her horror at Ross almost taking her away.

"You get an autograph? We need one!" Xander added.

"I think we are missing the important point", Giles said grimly. "The Secretary of State just tried to abduct Buffy."

Joyce looked enraged as Buffy sighed. "Yeah, but Cap and Black Widow sent him away."

"Good thing they got a tip then", Tara said and Buffy nodded.

"Yeah, I'm glad you're safe", Willow agreed, patting her shoulder.

Joyce knew how much Buffy used to crush on Cap too and sighed. "At least they saved you. They are both welcome in my home now whenever they want." She kissed Buffy on the forehead. "You're safe, that's all that matters."

"Yeah", Dawn agreed, hugging Buffy.

"So, you kissed him?" Anya suddenly asked.

"What?" Buffy asked back, defensive and blushing. "What are you talking about? No!"

"I mean, I'd kiss him if he was in front of me", Anya said, making Xander sigh as the rest groaned.

Few months later

Buffy was sitting alone at the Bronze when she heard a familiar voice. "Hey."

Her eyes widened as she looked up to see it was Steve, in a baseball cap and glasses, and he sat down next to her.

She stuttered a bit. "Cap….oh….hey, hi."

"Hi", Steve said with a smile.

"Why are you here?" Buffy asked.

"Came to check up on you, since Ross may come after supers again", Steve clarified to her. He had also checked up on Queens, but he seemed fine so far.

"Awww, thanks, that is so sweet", Buffy said with a smile.

"Notice you look down", Steve told Buffy as he took his glasses off. "Wouldn't ask you why though, since it'd be intruding."

"No, not really, I mean, my boyfriend, he cheated on me with Vampire prostitutes and then told me to immediately forgive him or he'd leave", Buffy muttered, not sure why she was telling Captain America, but she needed to vent to someone. "Some people…."

"That's horrible", Steve told Buffy. "I think you did a good thing by letting him go."

"And to think his friends say he is like you", Buffy said with a scoff. "They call him 'Captain America without the super soldier serum', but he's too insecure to be you, you are…." Buffy trailed off, then changed the topic. "How is no one even recognizing you here?"

"Well, they're not looking for me, and besides", Steve gestured to the glasses and cap, which he also took off. "This is the best disguise ever, you should try it out."

"Ah, all right then", Buffy said with a smile. "Thanks for coming."

"Not a problem, Buffy, you can count on me", Steve assured her. "I'll be going now."

"You're leaving?" Buffy asked, disappointed again.

"You want me to stay?" Steve inquired.

"Oh no….I meant, if you're not busy that is", Buffy said, when Steve got a message on his phone and looked at it, narrowing his eyes.

"Unfortunately, I am", Steve said with a sigh and Buffy seemed disappointed. "Sorry."

"No problem", Buffy assured, getting up and kissing his cheek as they smiled at each other and he left.

Same time

Ben returned home, sighing. Glory hadn't come out for a bit, which was good for him.

Then suddenly Strange appeared in front of him, not looking pleased. "You have housed Glory within you."

Ben was frightened. "Not my fault!"

"But the Queller is, so that makes this easier", Strange said as his hands glowed and he chanted, and Ben screamed as he was turned into ashes, and with him dead, Glory was gone too. And due to the Queller incident, Strange did not have much sympathy for Ben.

Few weeks later

Buffy was alone at the Bronze again when someone sat down in front of her, and she looked to see it was Steve. "Oh my God! I thought you were…never mind!"

"Hi", Steve greeted. "So, how are things?"

"As good as they can be", Buffy told him with a sigh. "I mean, my sister found out I kept something from her and was mad, it was for her protection, but now its all good, and a creep liked me and all that but I wasn't interested."

"So you kept a secret for protection?" Steve asked and got a nod. "I know the feeling. I kept something I knew from a friend of mine too, I didn't know as much as he thinks I did, but I did know something. I thought I was protecting him but in truth, I was protecting myself."

Buffy absorbed his words. "…..Wow….That was deep."

"Thanks", Steve told her. "I'm guessing no incidents with Ross or the like."

"Not that I can think of", Buffy said with a sigh.

"And who's this creep, if I may ask?" Steve inquired.

"He's actually a Vampire, he has a creepy crush, but you know, they're all disgusting creatures", Buffy scoffed.

"Excuse me?" Steve asked. "All of them?"

"I mean….yeah!" Buffy said.

"How can you be so sure?" Steve asked her. "Have you met every Demon or Vampire?"

"No but…"

"So how can you be sure all are bad and disgusting?" Steve both asked and pointed out. "There is a misconception nowadays, that all German soldiers willingly followed the Nazi ideology, but they didn't. Many of them were forced to fight for the Nazi ideology to protect themselves and their families from deaths. So my point is, not all Demons can be bad just because many of them are."

Buffy thought about it, thinking about his comparison. She wasn't ready to admit she was wrong yet, but his words and way of speaking had made her start thinking, and she nodded. "Yeah, guess so, thanks for sharing that."

"You're welcome", Steve assured before getting a message on the phone. "Sorry, need to go."

"Goodbye", Buffy waved as Steve walked off, and this time, both had some disappointment on their face.

A month later

Buffy was alone on a bench, looking broken, when she felt someone sit next to her, but now knew who he was.

"Hi", she said with tears in her eyes and a hoarse voice.

"What happened?" Steve inquired kindly, putting a hand on her shoulder.

"My mom…..she had brain tumor….we thought it was fixed, but….." Buffy burst into tears as Steve looked at her in sympathy and sadness, his heart going out to her.

"I'm sorry", he said, embracing her for comfort, and she let him, sobbing into his chest.

He stroked her hair as she sobbed for a few minutes, then stopped, sniffing, and wiped her tears as she sighed.

"I lost my dad in the war", Steve sympathized. "And when I woke up, everyone I cared about was gone."

"Does it ever get better?" Buffy asked, close to tears again.

"No", Steve said with a sigh. "But the people you lost, they want you to live your life, and keep them in your heart forever. I had to find new people to care for, you I think have people to care for."

"Yes", Buffy nodded, thinking of her sister and friends. "I do, I love them all."

"Take care of them, I guess", Steve sighed, hoping he didn't sound insensitive. "I'm sorry."

"Thank you", Buffy said, crying and hugging him again as he comforted her.

A week later

"So, what are all those mysterious rendezvous missions you go off to, huh Cap?" Sam asked Steve.

"Just some stuff", Steve said, not wanting to tell.

"Oh he likes a girl", Natasha spoke up, earning a look from Steve as she shrugged unapologetically, and Wanda chuckled too.

"I had a feeling, now I know", Wanda said with a smirk.

"Who is this girl, Cap?" Sam asked as Steve blushed.

"Someone really special", Natasha said, looking at Steve naughtily. "Cap likes her a lot."

"No! We haven't even kissed or anything! There's nothing!" Steve snapped as all laughed at his reaction.

"Aha! He does like her!" Wanda spoke up, pointing at Steve.

"Tell me Cap, do you like her?" Sam finally asked, looking into his eyes.

"All right fine, I do", Steve said, not denying it any longer.

"Then you should tell her, maybe she feels the same way", Natasha pointed out, and Steve considered.

"We'll see", Steve muttered.

2 months later

Buffy was now in the Bronze again, having learnt to live again at last after losing her mom. She had her sister Dawn, Willow, Xander, Tara, Giles and Anya for her. Even Spike was less of a jerk now and kind of nice, though she was still not interested. And Angel was there for her too.

"Hi."

Buffy smiled as she looked at Steve, who sat next to her. "How are you?"

"Better than last time", Buffy told Steve as he nodded.

"That's good to know", Steve told her. "Been a while."

"Yeah, I was missing you", Buffy said before realizing what she had said, but Steve didn't give any indication he got her meaning.

"Well, you got any guys after your ex and the creep? Not that its my business", Steve assured her with a raised hand.

"Nah, not interested, maybe I'm done with boys now", Buffy muttered.

"Well, I mean, not all are bad, right?" Steve asked her. "I mean, I kind of…"

"You kind of what?" Buffy asked with a smile.

"Well, I kind of like a girl, my friends made me admit it, and now they want me to tell her, I am not sure how to", Steve confessed to her.

"Well, what kind of girl is it?" Buffy asked.

"She's nice", Steve told her, taking a deep breath. "Smart, strong, sweet, funny."

"Sounds like your type", Buffy told him.

Steve knew he was going to regret what he said next, but he took a leap of faith.

"And I'm looking right at her."

Now Buffy's eyes widened, as Steve's heart beat fast, and she leaned back on her chair.

"Oh my God!"

"I'm sorry if this comes off as-"

"Oh no!" Buffy shook her head. "I kind of….well, I liked you too, you know? No idea when it started, but I did."

"Huh? Oh!" Steve muttered. "So…..I guess you and I….we….."

Buffy cut him off with a passionate kiss to the lips, which he was caught off-guard by, but ended up returning with equal passion, and both of them liked it.

They parted, a little breathless, realizing what they had done as Steve said. "I don't know how this can work, I'm a fugitive."

"I don't mind", Buffy told him. "As long as you can come visit me."

"I can", Steve told her before taking out a small piece of paper and giving it to her. "Here's my personal number, its untraceable, call on me here if you want to talk."

"Aww, thanks so much", Buffy said with a smile, before asking. "Though, do you have to leave right now?"

"Actually, no, we can spend this day together", Steve offered, holding out his hand and gesturing to the dance floor.

"Sweet", Buffy said as she took his hand, and they went on the dance floor.

They weren't sure if this would work, but they would still try it out.

Finally done at last. If this was more than a one-shot, would have added more stuff, but this was just a one-shot.

I think Steve/Buffy can work with some kinks that is.

I think Strange would have mystical protection so the enchantment that makes people forget that Ben and Glory are the same wouldn't affect him.

Personally, I think Ben was scum himself, so not much sympathy for him.

Plus, for Buffy losing to Ross' men, I didn't nerf her, but remember, tasing has knocked her out in the show too, like in 'Crush' when two tases from Spike/Drusilla knocked her out. Plus, in the show all the characters have inconsistent strength feats, they are basically as strong as the plot of an episode wants them to be.

At least the follow-up comics were more consistent with that stuff, but there's a lot of other crap in the comics that I dislike.

So if Buffy had avoided being tased, she'd have won that fight, but she couldn't, unfortunately.

Since no one here knows Ben is Glory, and also since Ben is dead already, I imagine the Scoobies would still assume Glory is around for a good while, which is why 'Blood Ties' happened mostly the same as in canon too here.

Thanks a lot to Brainstorm Sorcerer for his help again.

Anyway, hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with some other update.
