Willow's Education

Disclaimer: Because Willow really needed some education when it came to Magic and this is one way that could've happened.

Summary: During the Summer after Buffy runs away, Giles has a realization where Willow's education in Magic is concerned.

"Are, are you sure about this, Giles?" Wondered Willow nervously as she and the older man made their way to the entrance of a two story mansion in the county of Devon, England.

"Oh, y-yes, I'm, I'm quite sure of this, Willow. Especially if you are going to continue to learn more and more about, about Magic and use it."

Willow frowned momentarily. "But I'm doing just fine on my own!"

"And we all saw how that ended up several days ago, didn't we? Its a good thing I was not off looking for Buffy again as otherwise, things could've been much worse." He told her dead seriously and the young Redhead couldn't help but grimace over the reminder of how she had accidentally Summoned a Demonic Rabbit.

Sure, it had been a small sized one but it was still a danger in its own right! But nevertheless, the entire experience had caused Giles to realize a few things where Willow was concerned. The girl had a lot of potential and a great amount of eagerness to learn but not the temperment to do so at a reasonable pace. And the idea of her becoming like him in his Ripper days or even worse than that gave the older man considerable alarm. So with that in mind, and some careful wording with Willow's parents, he had managed to secure her journey to the Devon Coven until it was time for school to start up again back in the States. Though she would of course return once the Summer began anew and continue her education and so forth. "As it is, the Ensouling Spell should never have been performed by someone as young and inexperienced as you."

"But, but it didn't even work!" Protested Willow as Giles knocked on the door.

"Be that as it may, Willow. That Spell was dark and its fortunate we did not lose you because of its nature." Replied the man sternly and grimly.

His words and how they had sounded had managed to make Willow pale some but a part of her did feel the older man was worrying too much as a woman who was quite possibly in her 50s opened the door and smiled at them. Or more accurately, at Giles. "Ah! Rupert, pleasant to see you again, young man! And I take it this is the young lady in question you called us about?"

Giles returned the smile. "Quite right, Mrs. Rutherman. And I thank you and the rest of the Coven for being willing enough to take Willow in and teach her for the Summer."

"After what you told us? How could we not? It'll be a delight to teach this eager child." Mrs. Rutherman said with a kind smile in Willow's direction.

Who smiled back in a nervous manner and made her way inside with Giles after being welcomed in.

Author's Notes: Since they never actually showed anyone from the Coven, that gives a bit of leeway.
