Chapter two: White lions, Blue foxes, and Yellow trots.
Kim slammed her locker door after a hard day at school to find her best guy friend Jack Giri leaning against the locker next to her. Startled, she jumped back with a gasp, spilling her papers everywhere in the process. "Hello Kim." He said wearing his black and grey mechanics uniform and an amused smile on his face.
"How did you get in here?" Kim asked, still shocked and surprised. Jack chucked lightly, his face becoming even more amused. "I knew Steve Barken's little brother when I was in the military, so he let me in." "No need to tell her he didn't make it back alive." Jack thought idly.
"Mr. Barken's first name is Steve?" Kim questioned with a cocked eyebrow as she bent down to pick up her papers, only for Jack to bend down and help her. He was a jerk sometimes but she knew he cared. "Yea, bit strange he seems to be like the only teacher at this school, but whatever. Idon't know this school's budget." He said shrugging as he helped her with her things.
Standing back up Kim looked at Jack as she held onto her things. "You know, maybe you should get a haircut." Kim suggested idly. "Pft! Don't think so." Jack replied as he crossed his arms. "what's the matter? Worried Shego won't recognize you if you get your hair cut?" Kim said teasingly as she leaned forward. "Please, how could she mistake this personality for anybody else?" Jack replied as he ran his fingers on his right hand threw his hair as he threw his head back. Kim might not have been attracted to Jack but even she had to admit he knew how to work it when he wanted to. "Yea I guess your right." Kim replied with a laugh.
As they turned and were on their way out the school Jack started to speak again. "Oh, by the way Wade called. He said the Sr's were up to something again. Something about stealing some sort of prototype." Kim groaned. "Come on, what's up with those people?" "I don't know Kim, too much time and too much money, and nothing better to do." Jack replied, opening the door on his 83 Mazda for Kim now that they were outside.
"Yea but come on! They have to have something better to do. Write fan fictions or something." Kim said getting in and buckling her seatbelt as Jack shut the door and got in on his side. "Absolute power corrupts absolutely Kim. Power being money." Jack said starting the engine and giving it a few revs, making it roar. "Is money the only power that corrupts?" Kim asked teasingly. "Nope. And I would know." Jack replied putting his sunglasses on and giving the engine a few more revs before pulling out of the parking space.
"Oh well, guess I'll have to take that Animology quiz later." Kim said with a sigh. "What's, Animology?" Jack questioned skeptically. "Oh it's this new personality test! You get an animal, and a color. It even tells you who your soulmate is!" Kim exclaimed excitedly. "Well good luck with that." Jack replied as he glanced from her back to the road, sounding quite bored.
Some time later that day the Sr's were trying to break into a large vault containing some sort of secret prototype. Or at least Sr. Sr was. Sr. Jr was looking at a book witch had a blue elephant and an orange snake on it. "oh father I'm so excited! I am a yellow trout!" Exclaimed Jr with glee. "Hush Jr! I am trying to break into this top secret vault." Came Sr. Sr's retort.
"What's so special about this prototype anyway, Can't you just buy it online?" Jr asked, folding his arms with the book in one hand. "You and your internet. Some things are just best done the old way jr!" Sr exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air in annoyance.
Just than Sr. Sr finished hacking the system and the vault door began to open. "How about a good old fashioned ass whooping?" The Sr's heard a voice say coming from the vault as it opened to reveal the face of Kim Possible. "Ah my feisty arch foe. You complete me." Retorted Sr. Sr.
Just than they heard another voice from behind. "That's a bit creepy don't you think?" They turned to see Jack stepping out of the shadows with a group of armed guards behind him. "Ah and Jack Giri." Said Sr. Sr ignoring Jack's barb. "Eh, I'm not so good with the faces." Commented Jr as he managed to sound bored. "And I'm not good with fancy pretty boys with a TV personality and plastic muscles!" Jack threated with a menacing look on his face, causing Jr to drop the book he was holding and step backwards in fear.
Just than Kim leapt forward from the vault. "Surrender Sr's and we won't have to hurt you." Kim warned as she pointed a finger at them. "Thank you for the offer miss Possible, but I respectfully decline. Sr. Sr replied as he pulled a remote from inside his jacket. As he pressed the big red button that was on the remote jetpacks appeared on his and Jr's backs. "Fair well Kim Po…" He started to continue as Kim and Jack ran forward and drop kicked them into each other, knocking them out cold.
"Nice job!" Kim said high fiving Jack. "What can I say? You earned from the best." Jack said sarcasticly. "Pft! Yea right!" Kim replied playfully throwing her hands as the guards took the Sr's away. As they turned to walk away something on the ground caught Jack's attention. Bending down he picked up a book that had a picture of a blue elephant and an orange snake on it. "Animology? Hmm…"
The next day Jack came to pick Kim up from school as usual. He leaned against the lockers with his arms crossed as Kim was getting her stuff. Shutting her locker she was surprised to see Jack standing there but after yesterday she knew she shouldn't be so she continued as usual. "It turns out I am a blue fox!" Kim exclaimed with glee and a slight squeal. "I'm a white lion." Jack replied quite camly. "Wait, you took the Animology test? You sounded uninterested when I told you about it yesterday." Kim replied with surprise.
Jack shrugged his shoulders. "When we were leaving that vault the other day I found a book on the ground. Jr must of dropped it." "Jack! That might have been evidence!" Kim exclaimed with a grown as she threw her hands up. "Evidence Kim?" Jack questioned with a cocked eyebrow. "Oh, alright…" Kim conceded. "So what's your soulmate?" She continued. "Green rattlesnake." Jack replied with a shrug of the shoulders.
"Green rattlesnake?" Kim asked in surprise. That seemed familiar but she just couldn't place it. "Yup." Came Jack's simple reply. "Mine's the yellow trout!" Kim said getting all excited again." Oh I hope it's Josh." Kim continued in a dreamy tone of voice. "Josh? Josh who?" Jack questioned with a suspicious eyebrow.
"Josh Mankey. He's just the hottest guy in school!" Said Kim. Jack was a bit alarmed by Kim's interest in this boy. Last thing he needed was some pretty boy breaking her heart. Who knows what he would do if that were to happen? He might go all Uncle Buck on him. But he knew he shouldn't worry about that now. Besides he wasn't the type to judge people. Specially the ones he didn't know. Tho he did find it funny how Mankey sounded a lot like Monkey. "Well Cinderella you ready to go?" Jack asked sounding uninterested. Kim just groaned, looking annoyed with his question. "Yea I'm ready." Kim said still annoyed as his Cinderella comment as they made their way out the school.
Meanwhile back at Drakken's lair Shego was sitting down in front the fireplace looking thoughtfully at a book she had in her hand. "You are a Green Rattlesnake, your soulmate is the White Lion. The white lion's strength and loyalty perfectly balances out your stubbornness and bad temper, being the only animal that can truly handle you and be able to show you it's ok to love and be loved."
Shego scoffed and rolled her eyes but as she thought about it she became curious. Flipping threw the pages she came to the section about the white lion. "The white lion is at the top of the food chain, all others respect or fear them. The white lion often comes off as cam, lazy, or indifferent but when the time is right, becomes bold, without fear, and will always do what they believe is right no matter the cost. As a lover the white lion is warm and tender, loving and accepting, strong and protecting. And they will always stick by their partner the green rattlesnake till the very end."
Shego thought it was sappy but somehow it made her smile, witch wasn't an easy thing to do. Just than her musings were interrupted by the blue mad scientist Dr. Drakken as he entered the room. "Hey Shego what you got there?" He asked curiously. "Animology book. Hey wanna see what kind of animal you are?" Shego asked feeing rather amused and curious herself. "Oh sure, why not?" Drakken said with a shrug as he rubbed his chin.
Shego asked him questions and wrote down the answers, when she was done she closed the book in her lap and turned to look at him. "Well congrats Dr. D. Bottom of the food chain, blue sloth." Shego said with amusement. Drakken groaned and scowled as he hunched over clenching his fists witch only seemed to make Shego's amusement grow.
"anyways… Before you distracted me, I came to tell you that phase two is almost ready." Drakken said threw gritted teeth. "So be on the lookout for Kim possible." He continued. Kim Possible? That meant Jack. A devious smile on Shego's face just thinking about him. She looked forward to seeing him again. However Shego felt something other than the primal excitement that came from facing off against a rival. It was almost like… Butterflies in her stomach.
This was a thought that she refused to accept so she pushed it from her mind. "Hmm, I wonder what animal he is." Shego thought idly before getting up and making her way to the surveillance room. Once in the small dark room with computer screens all around Shego sat down and began to watch the monitors intently. "I'll be waiting." She said in a low predatory tone with a wicked smile growing on her face.
Back at the Middleton mall Kim and Jack were sitting at the food court with Kim's friend Monique who worked at the nearby store club banana. As Kim and Monique talked Jack got a strange feeling. Almost like someone was looking for him, searching, maybe even longing. This caused Jack's face to turn to that of slight unease and confusion as he tilted his head from side to side somewhat suspiciously. This caused Kim and Monique to take notice, confused and concerned looks on their faces as they looked from each other and back to him. "Hey boy, you ok?" Asked a confused sounding Monique.
Jack turned his attention back to Monique, he had a blank expression on his face but his eyes seemed still deep in thought. "Must be nothing." Jack replied almost emotionlessly. "Uh,uh. What's going on?" Demanded Monique as she leaned forward placing her hands on her hips. Just than Kim's Kimmunicator started beeping. She reached down into her bag and picked it up, Wade's face coming on the screen. "Go wade." Said Kim.
"Kim I just got a tip that Drakken is at it again. Remember that assembly like he stole back in Japan.? Well he used it to build a giant robot!" Explained wade. "Great… Well set us up with a ride Wade, were on the way." Said Kim. Part of her wondered if there was a mole in Drakken's operations or if he just anonymously alerted them himself. "Actually Drakken's lair is close by, so you can just drive there. I'll send you the coordinates." Said Wade taking a sip of his soda before signing off.
"Must have been that." Jacked said finally responding to Monique's demand. His voice was still empty but his eyes were now precise and focused, almost like a sniper going for the kill. "What are you, some sort of fortune teller?" Monique questioned suspiciously as she lean in, crossing her arms in front of her as she cocked an eyebrow. Kim than leaned in and whispered in Monique's ear. "I'm not sure he's been the same since he met Shego." "She who?" Monique asked in surprise.
