I don't own Kim Possible. I often reference people, places, and things. I don't own them either. I only own my OC's Jack and Reginald Giri.

Author note: I will wright the Sitch in time arc when the time comes. In the meantime I will give a verbal representation to how Kim and Jack met as well as the big part in Jacks past threw character dialogue somewhere in the next few chapters.

Chapter nine: The heart of present's past part 2.

The next morning Jack woke up before Shego as usual. He heard her snoring and when he turned to look at her he saw that she was laying on her stomach with her head facing him with her cheek against the pillow. Her hair was all matted from sleep and she had a bit of drool running down her face which had gathered in a pool on her pillow. As he got up he looked at her and smiled. "She looks so beautiful." He thought.

Jack folded the blankets and left them along with his pillow on the trunk at the foot of the bed. Jack than headed downstairs and began to make breakfast. Shego awoke shortly after, slowly opening her eyes she saw that jack was no longer beside her on the floor before she smelled the wonderful smell of his home cooked pancakes. Shego sat up and stretched before whipping the drool from her chin and lower lip. "Hope he didn't see that." Shego thought with a blush before getting up and heading downstairs. "Good morning Jack." She said groggily as she entered the room and took her spot at the kitchen table against the wall.

"Good morning Brandi. Coffee is ready if you want some." Jack said warmly as he turned to look at her while making the pancakes. Shego got up and poured a cup of coffee before walking over to him. "Maybe one of these days you can teach me to cook?" Shego asked as she looked up at him before taking a sip of her coffee. "Can't cook huh? Well I guess you couldn't be perfect." Jack said with a warm smile. "Don't say things like that you jerk!" Shego exclaimed with a bright green blush appearing on her cheeks. Jack just laughed.

Shego went back to her seat at the table and sipped her coffee. "So did you hear all the story last night before you fell asleep?" Jack asked. "Umm, last thing I remember was some strange man in a hot air balloon was approaching the ferris wheel or something." Shego replied. Jack than came with a large stack of pancakes as he sat down. "yea, so Abigale went to give the Illuminator to the man but before she could pass it off Reginald smacked it out of her hands and it fell. Abigale flew off with the strange man, Reginald told Mim he couldn't get the device back to clear her name and then Reginald walked away in shame. And that's when I heard you snoring. And decided to put you to bed." Jack said. Shego looked away in embarrassment. "Yea, again I'm sorry about last night." Shego said while still looking away. Jack put his coffee down after taking a sip. "No, I told you don't be. And don't start avoiding me or acting funny because of it. As long as there no Kissing or bed sharing it's alright." Jack told her somewhat fermly. Shego piled pancakes on her plate and drenched them in syrup before eating. "So using you as a human pillow is alright?" Shego joked. "As long as it's not on a bed." Jack said as he placed a few pancakes on his plate.

"So was that the end of your uncle's journal?" Shego asked between bites. "There was a few more pages but since you fell asleep I stopped. We can finish it later if you want." Jack told her before eating. "I'd like that." Shego said with a smile before taking another bite of her pancakes. Just then there was a strange ringing noise coming from Shego's pocket. "Ghha, this better be good!" Shego growled with a mouth full of food before pulling the device from her pocket that looked like a green Kimmunicator with a lot more buttons on it.

Shego swallowed before turning the device on. "What do you want Dr. D?" Shego questioned dangerously with narrowed eyes. "Shego I was just calling to inform you…" Drakken began until he noticed her clothes and the wall behind her which looked like that of someone's kitchen. "Where are you?" Drakken asked sounding somewhat confused. "None of your damn business!" Shego roared. "Ahha!" Drakken made the noise in fear as he moved back and covered his face with his hands as tho she could hit him threw the screen.

Apon realizing that she couldn't Drakken relaxed and began to speak again. "Anyways I was calling to tell you that the lair is being fumigated because of mutant termites. So meet me at the time share lair as soon as possible. I have something that I want to show you." Informed Drakken. "Time share lair?" Shego questioned with a raised eyebrow. "Yes, I'll send you the coordinates. Toodles!" Drakken finished playfully before signing off.

"Toodles?" Shego questioned skeptically. When she put the device down she saw that Jack was done eating and seemed to be listening closely as he had his elbows on the table with his mouth resting against his hands as he watched her. "So, I guess that means you will be leaving then." Jack said plainly. "Yea, sorry. But with any luck we will be seeing each other again real soon." Shego said with a wink before shoveling the rest of her pancakes into her mouth and downing her coffee.

"I look forward to it." Jack said with a chuckle. Once finished Shego got up and went back upstairs to change before coming back downstairs. Jack had just finished the dishes and walked her to the door as she hit the button on her bracelet to activate her disguise. "Bye Jack, see you later." Shego said as she began to walk out the door and waved goodbye. "See you Brandi." Jack said as he waved goodbye and watched as she disappeared into her invisible hover car. Shego deactivated her disguise than brushed her hair before changing into one of her spare suits and dawning her trademark lipstick. Once done she headed for the timeshare lair.

Back at the time share lair Shego walked in and looked around, the place was a mess with boxes and junk everywhere. She found Dr. Drakken sitting on a trunk by a large pile of boxes. "who was the last person to have lived here?" Shego asked with disgust. "Someone named Rupert Demens." Replied Dr. Drakken. "Must be Dementor." Said shego. "He uses a fake name?" Drakken asked in surprise. "Yea, can you imagine? Drue Lipsky." Shego shot with sarcasm. Drakken deadpanned with a groan. "Oh alright 'Shego', what's your real name?" Drakken asked putting emphasis on the ward Shego. "That's for me to know, and you to never find out." Shego said dryly. Drakken crossed his arms and frowned with irritation.

Shego groaned and face palmed. "Quit wasting time and tell me what it is that you wanted to show me." Shego said sounding both bored and annoyed. Drakken got up and pulled out a schematic from inside his lab coat. "Behold! The Electrostatic illuminator!" Drakken exclaimed with an evil laugh. Shego was surprised. If she remembered correctly that was the device mentioned in Reginald's journal. "What's so special about some old dingus?" Shego asked still trying to sound bored as she stood with crossed arms so she wouldn't let on to her surprise or her knowledge of the device. "This 'dingus' Shego is the whole reason I became a villain!" Drakken exclaimed again with another evil laugh.

Shego just rolled her eyes and placed her hands on her hips. "I thought you said you became a villain because of the guys who use to tease you in nerd school." Shego said suspiciously. "You were listening?" Drakken asked in surprise. "Only because it amused me." Said shego with amusement. "Shego, that hurts." Drakken said somewhat painfully. "I'm evil, Dr. D." Shego said dryly. Drakken pouted while looking hurt. Shego groaned and face palmed. His expression actually made her feel bad. She wondered why, but she couldn't come up with an answer. "Fine. Let's get this over with…" Shego said with a sigh. "Quickly Shego, to my mother's attic!" Drakken exclaimed as he perked up and marched confidently out the building. "Your mother's attic!?" Shego exclaimed in surprise. She was already regretting this.

Jack and Kim were driving around town in his Mazda, he had told her about the journal. He left out the part about Shego laying on his shoulder as he read it tho. "So you and Mankey doing alright?" Jack asked idly. "Yea were going out again Friday." Kim replied happily. "Good, well I'm glad to see you happy Kim." Jack told her. "Speaking of dates, you and that girl must be getting quite close. You smell just like her." Kim said slyly. "Stop that!" Jack shouted with annoyance. "Stop what?" Asked Kim slightly surprised. "Using your freaky nose powers." Replied Jack. Kim was about to protest about having freaky nose powers but just then her Kimmunicator began beeping, distracting her from her train of thought.

"Go Wade." Kim said Kim as she pulled the device from her pocket and turned it on. "We got a big break in the case! Get this, my great great grand uncle Wayne was the expo photographer." Announced Wade as the screen changed to a picture of a boy who looked like Wade in an early 1900's new boy uniform, holding an old fashioned camera. "This ain't right." Jack stated as he saw that the boy looked just like Wade.

"Besides the weirdness of all our ancestors looking like us, you got anything wade?" Kim asked as she glanced from Jack back to Wade. She too thought it was really strange. "My great great grand uncle Wayne's original pictures." Wade said proudly as a picture popped on the screen of Mim and Reginald standing with professor Demens who was holding the Electrostatic Illuminator. Wade zoomed in on the lower right hand side of the picture to show a strange looking man who was sneaking about and he looked somewhat like Drakken.

"Drakken!?" Kim asked in surprise. "Drakken? That looks like Gomez Adams with a Hitler haircut." Stated Jack as he leaned over to get a better look. Apon hearing this Wake and Jack both started laughing wildly. "Ok focus here boys." Kim said with annoyance as she pushed Jack away to force him to look back at the road. Wade came back on screen and did some typing before another picture of the strange man popped on screen. "Bartholomu Lipsky, Drakken's great great grandfather." Stated Wade. "Looks like the nut doesn't fall far from the tree." Jack said as he looked at the picture. He looked back at the road when Kim pulled the Kimmunicator away and gave him a disapproving look. "Acorn. But your right, a Lipsky on the scene can't be good." Said Kim. "I said nut and I mean it!" Exclaimed Jack, making Wade laugh again. He stopped however when Kim gave him an angry look. "Heh… You know you should go talk to uncle Wayne. He probably knows more." Wade said nervously. I hope he's still alive. Because talking to the dead… Ain't my thing." Said Jack as Kim shot him an angry glance, which he ignored. "Uncle Wayne is still alive and kicking. He was only ten when he shot the expo. He lives at the Middleton rest home." Said Wade.

"On our way Wade!" Jack said as he pulled a U turn and drifted the car as tires squealed, burning rubber. "Why do I keep getting into cars with you!?" Shouted Kim. Later at the Middleton rest home Jack and Kim were talking to Wade's uncle Wayne. "So your 110?" Asked Jack with amazement. "And I still look better than you." Said Wayne who looked like a big raisin on a motorized scooter. "I like you." Jack said with a hearty laugh.

"So we were hoping you could help us. Wade said you had some pictures from back at the expo." Explained Kim. Wayne went over to a nearby table and picked up a stack of pictures and brought them to Kim. "You know you could be Reginald's double." Said Wayne as he got a closer look at Jack. "So I've heard." Said Jack. Kim looked threw the photos, most of them were blurry and dark. She stopped when she way a photo of a figure running across a rafter.

"Who does that remind you of?" Asked Kim as she handed the picture to Jack. Jack took the picture from her hand and looked at it closely, sighing after a moment. "That must be Abigale." Said Jack. "Abigale?" Asked Wayne? "It's kind of a long story but apparently she was my uncle Reginald's secret lover." Explained Jack. "Really?" Wayne asked in surprise. "And apparently Jack has a Moby Dick fetish for her descendant Shego." Said Kim as she playfully nudged Jack with her elbow and winked at him. "Now why did you have to say it like that Kim?" Jack deadpanned.

"My ward!" Exclaimed Wane with shock. "Now don't listen to her. It's not like that, she's not my lover. She is just someone I am force to chase because of our life roles." Said Jack as he handed Kim back the photograph. "Over simplifying things a little don't you think?" Questioned Kim with a raised eyebrow. "Whatever Kim." Jack said rolling his eyes. In truth Kim didn't know anything about his and Shego's relationship or their feelings towards each other. She was just jumping to conclusions.

Kim then handed Wayne the photo. "After I took that picture I watched Abigale jump down and land on the professor and then make off with his invention. Mim had seen it too and chased after her. I reloaded my camera as quickly as I could and tried to get a picture of the ensuing struggle but by the time I was able to snap the picture Abigale had run off with the invention and Mim was left holding the bag." Said Wayne after a moment of examining the picture.

Kim flipped through the pictures in her hand till she found a photo of Mim holding suitcase that the invention was in. "That is one incriminating picture." Admitted Kim. "That was my last flash too. The rest of my pictures might as well of been of coal miners in a blackout." Said Wayne. "Ok, so you couldn't take any more pictures. Did you see anything?" Asked Kim. I remember Mim still tried to go after Abiagle. Reginald than showed up and then he went after her." Said Wayne. "Considering they were secret lovers that's incredibly incriminating on Reginald's part." Said Jack. "Yea but Reginald wasn't the one who took the blame. Mim did!" Kim said defensively. "Look Kim I don't care if he helped her get away or not. As long as he did what he felt was right, is all that matters." Jack said sounding irritated. Kim glared at him as she narrowed her eyes. Jack crossed his arms and turned away from her.

After a few moments of glairing daggers at his back side Kim sighed and let it go. She really didn't understand him sometimes but she knew starting a fight with him was pointless. She then turned back to Wayne as he had been staring in confusion at their little falling out. "Did you ever tell chief Barkin whet you saw?" Kim asked. "Bah! Barkin. I was just a ten year old boy and he was the chief of police. He wouldn't listen to me." Explained Wayne. "What happened after that last flash?" Kim asked out loud as she looked at the incriminating photo of Mim.

"According to Reginald's journal he went to go confront Abigale. The may have been lovers but he wasn't going to let her get away with stealing. …During the fight the Illuminator fell. Explained Jack a bit coldly due to the fact he was still a little mad at Kim and still had his back to her. Kim sighed. "Well thanks Wayne." Kim said disappointedly as she waved goodbye and he did the same as he watched them walk out. Jack and Kim walked silently out the building.

As the y reached the car Jack grabbed Kim's shoulder, causing her to turn around. Jack sighed and looked a bit ashamed. "Kim I'm sorry for getting upset back there. I… I didn't mean it." Jack said as he looked into Kim's eyes. She could see the painful remorse in his eyes as he looked back into them. Kim looked down as she held her hands together in front of her. She was ashamed too. "I'm sorry too Jack. I shouldn't have gotten so defensive." Kim said sadly. "I just don't get you sometimes. She continued looking back into Jack's eyes.

Jack sighed again. "I really don't think you can Kim… I just have my issues and reasons for being the way I am. I'm imperfect just like everybody else." Jack told her in somber tone. Kim whipped a tear away that was forming in her eye as she looked down again and sniffled. "I love you Kim." Jack said as he embraced her in a powerful and protecting hug. "I love you too." Kim said with trembling tone as she buried her face into his shoulder and cried softly.

After a few moments all was better and Kim dried her eyes as they let go of each other. "Let's not fight anymore, ok Jack?" Kim asked softly as she forced a smile. Jack just frowned and looked at her with honesty. "I can't promise that Kim. Feelings and emotions are complicated and can often conflict between two people. What's important is being able to say sorry and work it out quickly like we have here." Jack explained to her warmly. "Yea I guess you're right." Kim admitted with a smile.

Just then Kim's Kimmunicator went off. She pulled it out of her pocket and turned it on. "Hey Wade, what's up? Asked Kim. "I've been digitally enhancing the old photos. Get a look at this." Wade said before a photo popped on screen of Abigale with the Illuminator in her hands. "Yes! We have out proof!" Exclaimed Kim with excitement. "But Kim I think we have some bad news." Interrupted wade. Kim sighed as Jack leaned over her shoulder to look at Wade. "Ok, what is it wade?" Kim asked in disappointment.

"During the fight between Mim and Abigale I think the timer must of accidently been set." Explained wade. "But the device fell. It must have been smashed." Said Jack. "I don't think so. If the timer had been set and the Illuminator was destroyed in the fall it would have exploded." Said wade. "Hmm, good point." Conceded Jack. "Wait, if the illuminator has been gathering electricity for the past 100 years it would be like a nuclear bomb going off!" Kim exclaimed in shocking realization. "Shit! Wade we need to find that thing, now!" Shouted Jack as he went straight into military mode. "I'm trying! But I'm not sure how to track it." Wade said with a hint of panic.

Jack began to brainstorm as he paced back and forth. "ok if the device fell off the ferris where and wasn't smashed, it must have landed somewhere nearby. If the museum is currently filled with objects and attractions from the expo than it has to be there somewhere…" Jack deduced. "Come on Kim we got to get to the museum!" Shouted Jack as he slid across the hood of his black Mazda and got behind the wheel with Kim getting in quickly beside him as she put the Kimmunicator back in her pocket. Jack started the engine and took off with screeching tires as he raced as fast as he could across town, running red lights and swerving around cars as Kim held on for dear life. What would have been a 30 minute drive took less than 5.

As the car came to a stop Kim nearly threw up as she got out. Jack ran into the museum while she was busy trying to find her stomach. "Quick everyone get out! There's a bomb!" Shouted Jack, causing the people to run out screaming. Security quickly came and held him at gun point till Kim arrived. "Whoa! Whoa! Officers, he's with me!" Shouted Kim as she came sunning threw the doors. "Great. The one time not being known doesn't help me." Jack though in annoyance as he stood with his hands up.

The officers quickly lowered their guns and Jack lowered his arms. "Kim Possible!? What's this about!?" Asked one of the officers. "We believe the Electrostatic Illuminator that was invented by professor Demens is here and it's set to blow!" Explained Kim. "The Electrostatic Illuminator? Wasn't that stolen by your aunt?" Questioned another officer. "She didn't do it and I have proof!" Shouted Kim. "We got bigger things to worry about Kim!" Warned Jack.

Just then Kim's Kimmunicator started beeping and she quickly answered it. "Got anything Wade?" Kim asked urgently. "I found out how to track the Illuminator!" Informed wade as a tracker popped on screen. Kim and Jack tracked the signal to the old taco stand that was at the expo on the night of the incident. Just then Jack got a bad feeling as he could sense Shego quickly approaching.

Kim leapt on top of the taco stand and found the Illuminator hiding within the large taco was on top the stand and jumped down. Jack quickly examined the device. "Shit Wade! We got a minute before this thing blows!" Shouted Jack. "I haven't figured out how to disarm it yet!" Wade said in panic. "Work fast Wade or were all going to die!" Shouted Jack. Just then an explosion from above caught their attention as Drakken and Shego swooped in on a hover car and snatched the device out of Kim and Jack's hands.

"Yes It's mine!" Shouted Drakken in triumph before all officers turned their guns on him and Shego. "Oh…" Drakken said as his tone did a instinct, seeing that Shego was in danger Jack rammed his elbow into the ribs of one of the officers as he ripped the gun from his hand and threw him into the two officers that were on the right. The other two officers that were on the left went to turn their guns on Jack but before they could he was already on them.

Jack grabbed the gun of one of the remaining officers and tore it from his hands as he grabbed onto his shoulder and flung him into the last officer. In less than 3 seconds all 5 officers were unconscious. Kim's jaw dropped as her eyes nearly popped out her head. She had no idea he could do that. Even she was sure that she couldn't do that.

"Shego get rid of it it's going to blow!" Jack yelled in extreme urgency. Even she was in shock at wheat she had just seen and stood blinking dumbfoundedly in shock and amazement. "SHEGO!" Jack shouted again with all his might which actually made the ground shake a little. This time she snapped out of it and ripped the device out of Drakken's hands and flung it as far into the sky as she could. The Illuminator soon exploded creating a huge fireball as far as the eye could see as the sound from the explosion broke the sound barrier. The fallowing heat wave and vibration could be felt all around as everything shook. Once the explosion had dissipated a little Drakken and Shego took off.

Jack sat at home relaxing in his chair in the living room as he sipped some tea in front the fireplace after a very stressful day. He had explained his actions to the police by telling them he couldn't risk them hitting the device and to Kim by telling her he didn't believe Drakken and Shego deserved to die, so all was well. He didn't really think Shego would show up after such a ruckus but it seemed that he was proven wrong when he felt her approaching.

Jack went outside and sat on his front step to wait for her as the sun went down. About 5 minutes later he heard a loud turbo charged car rapidly approaching and watched as it raced down his street and pulled into his driveway. Jack watched as Shego stepped out of a new grey 2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo VIII. She walked up to him in her disguise with a devious smirk. She was wearing a grey tank top, black shorts, and black flip flops. Jack whistled. "Damn girl, rolling in a car like that looking the way you do you going to have dudes nutting in their pants just from looking at you." Jack said with an amused grin.

Shego burst out laughing as she sat down beside him. "And what about your pants? Are they dry?" Shego asked as she tried not to laugh again. Jack shook his head. "Don't think so." Jack said before they both started laughing again. "So thanks for saving me today." Shego said once she managed to stop laughing. "Don't mention it." Jack said as he put his arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a side hug and she placed her head on his shoulder.

"I didn't know you could move like that. You been holding back on me." Shego said softly resting her head on his shoulder as she watched the sun set with him. "Not holding back. Just not giving it my all." Jack replied. "Mmm." Shego made the noise as she smiled and closed her eyes, taking in his comforting scent. "So that's a nice car you got there. Hope you didn't steal if from any of my customers." Jack said in a slightly warning tone. "Don't worry Jack I didn't steal it." I figured I needed an actual car to go with my disguise instead of an invisible hover car. Kind of strange your neighbors seeing a girl magically appear and disappear in your front yard don't ya think? And it's kind of hard to disguise yourself in a stolen ride. "Shego responded.

"Good point. So what do you want me to call you when were out in public? I obviously can't call you Shego." Said Jack. Shego blinked her eyes softly a few times as the sun disappeared over the horizon. "You can call me by my name, if you want to. Not like anyone other than you is going to know Brandi is actually Shego." Brandi said softly. "Alright. So I suppose you want to start training." Said Jack. Brandi shook her head. "Not tonight. I figured you would want to relax after a stressful day. And I kind of want to as well." She said.

"Well there's still a little left of uncle Reginald's journal. How about we finish that?" Suggested Jack. "I'd like that." Brandi said warmly. Jack stood up and helped her up before they went inside. Once inside Brandi deactivated her disguise as she followed him down the hall to the living room. Jack picked the journal up off the coffee table where he had placed it earlier that day. They both sat down on the couch with Brandi laying back against his chest with the top of her head nestled in the crook of his neck.

For some reason Jack hadn't bothered to question Brandi's behavior and the fact that they were practically cuddling. Maybe it was because subconsciously they both knew that they needed each other. Jack turned the page to the last entry in the Journal. "I got a letter…" Jack said as he began reading.

-FLASH BACK-

Reginald stood in his kitchen staring in shock at the letter in his hand. The name on the envelope, said… Abigale. After staring in shock for a good 5 minutes Reginald gulped hard before opening the letter. He dropped the envelope to the floor as he unfolded the letter and began to read.

"In my restless dreams, I see that house. The one on the hill. The one where I found you, and loved you. Do you remember it? Where it is? I can't stop thinking about it. And about you Regi, my love. I know I said that we can't be together. But I want you to know, that my heart will always belong to you. Come find me when you get this. I'll be there. Waiting for you."

Reginald dropped the letter as he stumbled back, trembling as his blood became like ice. Of course he remembered. How could he forget? Reginald gripped onto the counter with his left arm as he gripped onto his face with his right hand, clenching his jaw tightly. Just then he heard a knock at the door. When he looked up he saw the silhouette of a woman in a long dress standing at the screen door. He couldn't make out any details due to the glare of the sunlight shining in from behind her. "I must be having a fever dream." He thought. It couldn't be Abigale.

Once he managed to compose himself he went to the door. When he opened it he was greeted by a nervous looking Mim Possible. "Hello Reginald. Can I come in?" She asked weakly as she twiddled her fingers in front of her and looked at him timidly. "S-sure Mim." Reginald replied doing his best not to sound surprised as he stepped aside for her to come in. "Thank you." Mim said nervously as she stepped into the kitchen and turned to look at him. Reginald turned to look back at her as he closed the door. Their eyes meeting somewhat awkwardly as Mim began to speak, still twiddling her fingers and looking timid. "Reginald… There's something I have to tell you." Mim said nervously with a cracking voice.

"What is it Mim?" Reginald asked with concern. Mim looked away for a moment as awkward silence filled the room. "Reginald… There's no easy way for me to say this… But, but I'm going away Reginald. And I want you to come with me, because… I love you Reginald." Mim said confessing timidly with worry in her voice.

"What…?" Reginald asked in cold blooded shock. "I love you Reginald! And I want you to marry me." Mim blurted out more assertively this time. Reginald's blood turned to ice again as he broke out in a cold sweat. Mim wanted to marry him!? "M-Murium… I don't think you know what you're asking for." Reginald managed to get out with some fear in his voice. "Yes I do. I've loved you for a long time Reginald. I just never knew how to tell you." Mim said tenderly with pleading eyes as she walked over and gently paced a hand on either side of his face.

"M-Murium…! I'm sorry but I can't!" Reginald said in trembling shock and a little bit of fear. "Butwhy not Reginald?" Mim asked with moist pleading eyes as she brought her face closer to his. Reginald reached up and gently removed her hands from his face. "Mim. There's something I need to tell you." Reginald said softly. "…There's another, isn't there?" Mim asked sorrowfully in a soft voice as she looked down. Reginald looked down as well and nodded slowly.

"Her name is Abigale. I met her before you. Back during my time in the confederacy… She saved my life." Reginald told her earnestly Mim backed away slowly as she clasped her hands together in front of her chest as she stared at the floor. "O-oh… I… I can see why you love her then…" Mim said broken heartedly. As much as it hurt she understood. She knew she couldn't compete with that. "S-so what is she like?" Mim asked with painful curiosity as she tried not to cry. "That's the part I need to tell you… You know her. Sort of…" Said Reginald.

"I-I do?" Asked Mim with confusion. There was then a long awkward silence before Reginald began to speak again. "…Remember when you asked how I knew it was a woman, who stole the Illuminator?" Asked Reginald as he looked away. "Yes…?" Mim asked, unsure of where this was going, until the realization hit her. "Reginald! You're not telling me…?" Mim exclaimed as she covered her mouth with her hands as the tears began to roll down her cheeks. Reginald just nodded slowly, not being able to look at her.

Mim pushed him and he fell on the floor. "You bastard! How could you!? How could you choose her over me!?" Mim shouted with tears streaming down her face before she ran over and began hitting him. Reginald put his hands up to block his face but she hit his arms and shoulders over and over again. "You helped her get away didn't you!? You lying bastard! How could I have ever trusted you!?" Mim cried as she screamed at him.

Reginald grabbed onto her wrists, forcing her to look at him. "Let go of me you bastard!" Mim screamed with a tear soaked face as she struggled against his grasp. Reginald then pulled her in and kissed her tenderly. Mim stopped fighting as the kiss lasted a few short moments. Once they pulled away Mim was trembling but he had her full attention. Reginald continued to hold her wrists as he looked her deeply in the eyes.

"I'm sorry Mim. I never gave you enough credit. Or told you how much you mean to me… You were my only friend over these past few years. …And never once did I thank you. "Reginald said sorrowfully before looking away and letting Mim go. Mim gently dried her eyes with a sniffle. She was in shock and she didn't know what to think, so she just dried her eyes and face with her sleeves as she tried to figure out what to say.

Mim knew that she was angry, and she knew she didn't have the full story. Maybe he didn't let her go. Maybe he didn't betray her. "You didn't let her go, did you?" Mim asked weakly. Reginald shook his head slowly, looking away. "I might have loved her Mim… But I couldn't let her get away with stealing." Reginald said before looking up into her puffy red eyes. "I never lied to you Mim. I just… Never told you everything." Reginald said weakly with a cracking voice.

Mim got down on her knees in front of Reginald and stared into his eyes for a moment before embracing him in a tight hug. Reginald grabbed onto the back of Mim's shoulders as he pulled her in close and they tried they tried to comfort each other and gain some form of closure. "You have been threw a lot Reginald… Things I know I could never understand. I don't know what it's like to almost die. To lose everything you ever cared about… To watch friends and loved ones die… Or what it is like to kill another person… So I know I can't understand your pain or your trama… Or the way you might feel for another. But I want you to know… That I forgive you…" Mim said in a warm and comforting motherly voice.

Reginald grabbed onto her tighter as he began to cry softly into her shoulder. "I'm sorry Mim. I have failed you…" Reginald sobbed. "Shhh… You haven't failed me. You tried your best," Said Mim tenderly as Reginald cried into her shoulder. There was a long comforting silence as they slowly accepted their closure. After Reginald was done crying Mim got up and started walking towards the door, before she went to leave she stopped and turned to him.

"Reginald… I don't know what the future holds. Or what's going to happen to me. But I want you to know… That Iwill always be your friend." Mim said forcing a smile as a single tear rolled down her cheek. Reginald swallowed hard as his heart filled with sorrow, knowing that this may be the last time that they ever see each other. "Murium… I want you to know… While I might not be in love with you. I will always love you." Reginald said painfully with a crackling voice before tears began to stream down his cheeks. "I love you too Reginald. Now, go to her." Mim said softly before walking out the door. Reginald cried with deep pain, gripping onto his face as he heard the screen door swing shut.

The next morning after coming to terms with his situation Reginald set out for that house on the hill, the one where Abigale had saved him. He just hoped she would still be there. It took him a few days to reach the place but eventually he was there. It seemed so surreal. Just as the first time he saw it, when he was barely clinging to life, it seemed as tho the house was trapped in its own moment in time.

Reginald slowly approached the house as his blood began to turn cold. He stopped and swallowed hard as he reached the door. "It's now or never." He told himself. Reginald opened the door and went inside. As he looked around, there she was. Standing elegantly by the window like something out of a love novel. The sight of her took his breath away. She didn't look any different than she usually did, but it didn't matter.

"I was wondering if you were ever going to show. I was beginning to worry." Abigale said softly as she looked at him with big doe eyes. Reginald couldn't help it, he ran to her. The two lovers embraced each other as Reginald softly began to kiss her sweet lips before turning to kiss down her chin and neck. Abigale moaned softly as she threw her head back and caressed his strong chest.

After the joyful and love filled reunion they gazed deeply and lovingly into each others eyes as they held onto one another. "I thought you said we couldn't be together." Reginald said softly. Abigale looked away shyly and somewhat ashamed. "We can't Regi… I'm sorry. I just had to… I just had to see you one last time!" Said Abigale as she placed her lips apon his as she kissed him passionately. They only stopped once they both needed air. "I just couldn't leave things the way we did Regi." Abigale said softly as she gasped for breath, looking deeply into her lovers eyes with her arms wrapped tightly around his neck. "Thank you Abigale." Reginald said softly as he gazed deeply into her beautiful dark green eyes. "I love you Regi." Said Abigale. "Not as much as I love you." Said Reginald before pulling her back into a heated, love filled kiss.

-END FLASH BACK-

"That night we made love like never before. It may have been only one last night but it's meaning lasted a lifetime. Sadly I can't say what ever happened to Abigale. That was the last time I ever saw her." Jack said as he finished reading the journal and closed it in his left hand as he held onto Brandi with his right. They were both laying on the couch with Brandi laying on top of him with her face pressed against his chest. Jack looked down as he heard her snoring softly, a small smile coming to his face.

Jack placed the book down on the coffee table and softly kidded Brandi's head as he embraced her. As he held onto her he began to think about all the things that truly meant something to him. In truth the only two things Jack could think of that he truly cared about were Kim and Brandi. Another thought than came to him, a painful thought. What if he was forced to choose between them, what would he do? He promised that he would never leave Brandi no matter what. Maybe not directly, but it was a promise all the same. On the other hand Kim was the only person who was there for him when it truly mattered. And now he had to be there for Brandi like Kim had been there for him.

Jack knew that he loved Kim. He also knew that he loved Brandi. While he might not have been in love with either of them he still loved them both. He also realized while he loved them both he didn't feel the same way about them. He might have not seen Kim as his equal due to her age but she was still his partner and he couldn't imagine life without her by his side. On the other hand while he saw Brandi as his equal and by no means viewed her as weak, to him she was like a precious jewel he had to protect. While Jack wasn't in love with Brandi somehow he could never imagine Kim laying with him like this, even if she was older. He just hoped that when Kim found out about Brandi that she could somehow find it in her heart to accept her like he did.

Authors note: I realized I had Reginald's story as he was part of the confederacy, but then I went back and looked up when the civil war ended. The civil war ended in 1865. The events of his story takes place in the late 1800's or very early 1900's, like 1902. So even if he was like 19 when he got out Reginald and Abigale would be around in their 50's. There not, mid 30's at the most. I was going to change it and say he was just in the military but then I realized I already wrote it into the first half of this arc. So yea… My bad. As Ron would say. But hey, it sounds good right? Lol. Also I didn't mention it since I couldn't figure how to work it into the story. But Mim and Reginald met because she was writing an article on soldiers after the war and Reginald was one of the soldiers she interviewed. Also I don't write porn but I can't help what you do with your imaginations. Lol.
