I don't own Kim Possible. I often reference people, places, and things. I don't own them either. All I own id my OC Jack Giri.
Chapter twelve: Were just friends.
After work Jack picked Kim up from school and took her to her first day of work at the local Taco Bell. She was already in uniform but she still had some time before she needed to clock in so Kim and Jack sat at a booth talking while Kim ate her chalupa. "So how are you and Brandi doing?" Kim asked casually as she wiped a bit of sour cream from the corner of her mouth before taking another bite. "Brandi, Brandi, Brandi. That's all you ever ask about." Jack said mockingly with slight irritation.
"Well you have been a lot happier since you met her. Is it so wrong to want to know about the girl that managed to take your mind off Shego?" Kim asked nonchalantly as she took another bite. Meanwhile Brandi was driving through town on her way home when she saw Jack's car parked at the local Taco Bell and decided to join him.
"No, I suppose not." Jack said in defeat. Kim watched as a grey Lancer pulled in next to Jack's black Rx7, her jaw nearly hit the table when she saw the woman who got out of it. Jack didn't even have to turn around, he knew who it was. Jack believed his ability to sense Brandi had improved since it seemed as long as she was in Middleton he was able to sense her presence. This made it slightly harder to tell when she was getting closer since he was feeling her presence all the time, but he could tell when they were in the same building. Jack turned around anyways just to play along, and not to raise any suspicions about him not being surprised about Brandi's arrival.
A huge smirk grew on Jack's face when he saw Brandi. "Oh good. Looks like you're going to get to meet her now." Jack said with amusement dripping from his wards as he turned back to Kim. "That's Brandi!?" Kim asked breathlessly. Brandi could see the look on Kim's face a mile away, causing a devious predatory smile to grow on her own features as she approached the building.
The first thing Kim noticed about Brandi was that she had it. She had presence, the type that turned heads just from the energy she gave off. The next thing Kim noticed was that she was breathtakingly beautiful. Not in the way that any girl could simply with enough money and makeup, but she was a real natural beauty. The kind those kinds of girls only wished she could be. Her long reddish brown hair was done up in a ponytail and glistened in the sun against her soft, pale white skin. Kim noticed the large rose tattoo on her chest and the way her large round breasts bounced when she walked. She also noticed her powerful dark green hazel eyes threw her black wire framed glasses. She was wearing a low cut grey tight fitting tank top witch exposed the top of her lacy black bra along with tight jean booty shorts and black flip flops. Overall Kim could tell she was a bad bitch. And not the kind every hussy on the street claimed to be, but the real deal. The kind that could make those girls piss themselves with just a single look.
Brandi opened the front door and made a beeline to the table Kim and Jack were sitting at just a few booths from the door against the left wall. Kim forced her mouth to close as she watched as Brandi sat down across from her, sitting suspiciously close to Jack. "Hey Jacky. Whose your friend?" Brandi asked in a slightly passive aggressive tone as she looked at Kim with predatory eyes and a mischievous smile.
"Brandi, I have told you about Kim." Jack said casually as he gestured towards Kim. Kim waved as she swallowed and did her best not to look intimidated. If it had been any other situation like on a mission Kim wouldn't have been intimidated. But seeing as she believed Brandi was Jack's girlfriend she was feeling the pressure. "Oh I'm so glad to finally meet you." Brandi said with an underlying tone that indicated the exact opposite as she shook Kim's hand. Jack could clearly feel the tension between them but he decided to let it go.
Looking at Brandi Kim couldn't help but compare herself to the older woman. "Body, looks, tattoos, hot car. No wonder Jack is crazy about her." Kim thought to herself, feeling inadequate. It was than when Brandi placed her hand on the table that Kim noticed her long, sharp fingernails. "Man those things are dangerous!" Kim thought with shock.
Brandi leaned against Jack as she looked t at Kim with a devious smirk and a look in her eyes that said "He's mine!" "So Jack never told me how you two met." Said Brandi in a possessive aggressive tone as she leaned further onto Jack. Jack looked at her out the corner of his eye as he gave her a gentle nudge with his elbow in indication to lay off a little. Brandi looked at Jack with slight irritation for a moment before giving him a conceding look.
Seeing that Jack was going to force Brandi to ease up Kim relaxed a little. "Well I was volunteering down at the VA hospital and Jack was being treated for PTSD and going through therapy for his injuries that he received during his time in the service. When I saw him he was really quiet and distant. He didn't talk to any of the other veterans. And he didn't really open up to any of the psychologists either. So one day we just started talking. Wasn't exactly pleasant at first, but for some reason he didn't try to ignore me or blow me off like he did everyone else. After a bit of persistence he finally started to open up to me. We been friends ever since." Kim said, recalling the tale.
"Yea, so one day this teenage girl starts bothering me and she won't leave me alone. Keeps telling me I need to open up to someone. I blew her off at first, but Kim was persistent. Seeing as she was a volunteer and not getting paid to bug me I figured she must actually care for some reason. Part of me actually liked seeing her. She was like the annoying little sister I never had. So eventually I actually started paying some attention to her. She cared for me when no one else did. And the rest is history I suppose." Jack said recalling his side of the tale.
Brandi had mixed feelings about their story. On one had she felt more jealous and possessive than ever. But on the other she understood. Kim was there for Jack like Jack had been there for her. "Oh, so I was just some annoying teenager?" Kim joked indignantly as she placed her hands on her hips. "You still are Kim. But I don't know how I would have got through this last year and a half without you." Jack said with a smile.
Brandi frowned, feeling more jealous than ever as she nudged Jack in the ribs with her elbow. Jack got the message but his only response was to place an arm around her, giving her a hug. As Jack did so Brandi placed her head on his shoulder. She felt happy again. Just than Brandi's communication device began beeping. She ignored it. "That's a strange ring tone you got there." Kim said before finishing her food. "Work pager." Brandi lied.
"Well I guess we best get out of here Kim." Jack said as he and Brandi stood up. Kim than looked at her watch. "Yea, I guess I better go clock in. See you two later." Kim said as she stood up. Looking at them together she felt happy for Jack but at the same time she couldn't help but feel a bit left out, like she would be replaced. Kim watched as Brandi and Jack walked out the door together as she threw away her trash then clocked in.
"So you were a bit passive aggressive don't you think?" Jack asked casually as they stood in front the cars. "Just have to establish my dominance, that's all." Brandi said with a devious smirk. "Yea, well I think you did that. You know, you really don't have to worry Brandi. I don't view you two as the same" Jack said reassuringly. "What's that supposed to mean?" Brandi asked in a slightly dangerous tone.
"It means, that she might be my princess. But you're my queen." Jack said warmly as he stepped closer to her as he looked her in the eyes. Brandi giggled. "Careful, if you keep saying things like that I might just fall in love with you." Brandi teased playfully. "We already talked about that Brandi…" Jack said somewhat sadly. "Yea, I know." Brandi said softly. "Well… I guess I better go see what the boss man wants. But before I forget…" Brandi said before reaching into her pocket and pulling out a torn piece of green stocky note.
"Jack took the piece of paper and looked at it." A phone number? Jack asked a bit confused before looking back at her. "Yea, I bought a phone so we can keep in touch while I'm away. You're the only one who will have my number so if you give it to anyone I'll have to cut you." Brandi teased playfully as she pointed one of her sharp fingernails at him. "You mean none of the guys popping boners as you walk by will have it? Well why would I want to help them with their wet dreams?" Jack joked sarcastically and they both laughed.
"Well I'll be seeing you Jack." Brandi said softly before kissing him on the cheek then getting into her car as she waved goodbye. Jack smiled as he watched her drive away before getting into his car and driving away himself. "Just friends my ass." Kim thought slyly as she had been watching them from her place at the register. She than rubbed her chin in thought. Brandi's voice sounded familiar but she just couldn't place it.
A few hours later Jack had got a call from Wade on his Kimmunicator telling him that there was another tip off to Draken's wear abouts. He knew that Brandi had to be the one to alert Wade, but he doubted she would admit it. Seeing as Kim was still at work he decided to go at this one alone Hitching another plane ride threw his military contacts Jack parachuted in and landed on what looked like a giant cheese wheel somewhere in Wisconsin.
"Is this cheese?" Jack said quietly as he scooped a bit of cheese into his hand and smelled it. It was. He wasn't going to eat it tho, who knew how many birds had craped on it since it was just a giant cheese wheel out in the middle of the city. Jack climbed in threw one of the many holes and looked around. He saw the giant laser drill along with a few other machines. Around the room was also many crates of who knows what as well as many of Drakken's pathetic goons. There really wasn't much point in sneaking around or looking for Shego since she already knew he was here. If he wanted to he could just focus on her energy to find her exact location, but what was the fun in that? However he got the feeling that she was honing in on his energy at this very moment.
Jack jumped down from his hiding spot, landing right in plain sight. All of Drakken's goons turned to him as they prepared for a fight. Just than Shego came leaping in from somewhere across the room to stand proudly before him in her green and black jumpsuit along with that green Jacket that Jack thought looked so good on her. "Aww. Looks like you're outnumbered." Shego said, her wards dripping with sarcasm.
"Yea, hate to tell you… But you're the ones that are outnumbered." Jack announced confidently as he took his fighting stance. "Seriously? You're kidding right?" Shego asked as she looked around in confusion. "What do you think?" Jack said dangerously as he narrowed his eyes at her. Just than Drakken came over to gloat as he walked hunched over with his hands behind his back. "Kim Possible. …Wait, who are you…?" Drakken said as he stood up straight, blinking in confusion.
"Do I look like Kim Possible?" Jack asked indignantly. "Well… No." Dr. Drakken said scratching his head in bewildered thought. Shego groaned. "It's Kim Possible's sidekick, Jack Giri." Said shego. "Never heard of him." Replied Dr. Drakken. Jack and Shego both groaned in unison. "Can we just get this over with? So you guys going to attack me all at once or one by one?" Asked Jack, first with annoyance and then with sarcasm. "What do you think?" Shego asked coldly. "Well I was hoping all at once. I'd feel kind of bad wasting my time to come all the way out here if you were going to just make this easy." Jack replied casually.
"Get him!" Shouted Drakken. Shego and all of Drakken's henchmen began attacking Jack all at once. As Shego came in with a glowing clawed hand Jack ducked under it than did a palm strike to an incoming goon and sent him flying back into several others. Shego than came in with a kick aimed for his head but he ducked again and did a roundhouse kick to an incoming henchman and sent him flying back into several others. Shego than came in with a slash and kick combo but Jack ducked the slash than deflected her kick, throwing her back into more henchmen. Unlike the unconscious henchmen, Shego was unfazed and came back for more.
"Drakken is blue, Shego is green, his goons are red, and the building is yellow. Man, it's like a rainbow fun factory in here." Jack thought idly mid fight. As the fight continued with much of the same Drakken began ranting about his evil scheme. "Your powerless to stop me lackey! When I use my new laser drill to tap into the molten magma deep beneath the earth's crust I will than use my magmachine to melt the entire state of Wisconsin and I will rename it…. Drakkenvill!" Drakken exclaimed in a theatrical villainistic type way. Clearly he wasn't actually paying attention to the fight because by the time he was done his little speech all his red goons were unconscious and Jack and Shego were busy trying to put each other in a headlock with Jack giving her a noogie.
"Wait what?" Jack asked in confusion as he looked at Shego, them both stopping mid fight. They had their arms around each others necks with each trying to overpower the other to no real effect. Except maybe the noogie Jack was giving Shego. "Don't look at me I just work here." Shego said, managing to sound bored. They then both turned their attention to Dr. Drakken. "Dude, that's never going to work. Even if you do succeed in melting Wisconsin, what makes you think the rest of the united states is just going to let you rename it Drakkenvill?" Jack asked like he was talking to an imbecile.
Jacks question seemed to enrage the blue imbecile as Dr. Drakken began grunting and groaning in distress as he made a whole host of strange gestures, which seemed to amuse Shego. "Gah,,, Geee heee,,,, hhaaa,,,, ahhhh daaahh…." Groaned Drakken. "Oh what do you know!?" Drakken finally shouted as he got in Jacks face. "No I think he's got a point Dr. D." Shego chimed in nonchalantly. "GAAAhhhhh! Whatever! Don't you two have a fight to finish or something!? A make out session perhaps?" Drakken exclaimed with great irritation.
Jack and Shego looked at each other and shrugged before Jack removed his arm from around her neck, placing it in front of her neck as he swept her right leg out from under her and threw her on the ground. Seeing as Shego was now on the ground Dr. Drakken so boldly decided to take this chance to run away.
Shego then flipped back onto her feet and came at Jack with a kick which he blocked. "Did I ever tell you that coat looks amazing on you?" Jack asked with a large amused smile. Shego blushed a faint green as she struggled against him. She than lowered the leg she had been trying to kick him with than tried to kick him with the other only for him to grab it.
"You really think so? Shego asked somewhat timidly. Jack spun her around by her leg and threw her across the floor. "Yea, Kim wanted the same one, but it's more you're your style than hers really." Jack said confidently. Shego chuckled as she got up and went back into her fighting stance as she stared at Jack with an amused smirk. "You know, after praise like that I might be inclined to let you walk out of her. Too bad for you I still got a job to do." Shego shot sarcastically. "Aww, boo whoo, poor me." Jack said sarcastically, feigning sadness.
Jack knew as long as Brandi was still in Shego mode she still had a job to do, which only gave him two options. One: Beat her to a pulp or the point of unconsciousness. Which A, he didn't want to do since they were friends, and B, would probably take a really long time and a lot of energy. So that only left him with option two: Somehow destroy the machine so that way he would win and fighting would become pointless. He did consider using this time to get a bit of that training in that he had promised her, but figured he was a little tight for time at the moment.
Shego came charging at him with a roar and hands blazing. She went straight for her style of kicks and slashes witch had no effect. As jack casually blocked her attacks he looked at the giant laser near where they were fighting. "Man I wish I brought some C4." Jack thought idly. He then looked up at the control tower and figured that was his best bet. After blocking an incoming slash from Shego Jack placed his foot firmly on her chest and sent her flying back with a powerful kick into a few wooden crates, which broke on impact. Shego was stunned just long enough for him to make it almost all the way to the control tower before she got up and came after him.
Up in the control room Jack had little time to examine the controls as Shego came in hands blazing with more attacks. Jack dodged out of the way of an incoming firey green fist and redirected it into the machine's control panel. The panel started sparking as black smoke poured out of it. Jack and Shego than looked to see the laser start to go nuts with the beam shooting in every direction. Jack and Shego than turned to each other. "I think we better get out of here." Jack said urgently. "You will get no arguments from me." Said Shego before fallowing him out of the tower just before it was destroyed by the laser. They then ran out and hid behind a tree in some nearby woods. Luckily the sun had now gone down and they were under the cover of darkness
Jack and Shego watched as the building began to melt. "Are you telling me that thing was actually made of cheese?" Shego asked in surprise. "Yea, who would have thought?" Jack said casually. Jack and Shego both stood as they turned to each other. "So what you doing later tonight?" Jack asked her. "Oh you know, I figured I go home. Maybe hang out with my friend, get some dinner." Shego replied casually. "Sounds nice." Jack said with a warm smile. "It is." Shego replied warmly. "So, what you say, you wanna get out of here?" Asked Jack. "With you? I'd go anywhere." Replied Shego. Jack chuckled.
"I just have one thing to do first." Shego said Before leaping up into the tree. There was a bit of rustling before she came back down holding a medium sized green backpack. She placed the backpack on the ground and took off her gloves before taking off her coat and handing it to Jack. She then began to strip out of her green and black jumpsuit as she slowly undid the zipper. Jack got the feeling she was doing it so slowly just to mess with him. Once unzipped Jack could see she was still wearing her clothes from earlier underneath as she took the jumpsuit off and folded it neatly. She then pulled her black flip flops out of the bag along with the device she used for her disguise, and the glasses and put them on. Placing her jumpsuit along with her gloves back in the bag she took her coat back from Jack and putting it on before zipping the backpack and placing it over her shoulders. The last thing she did was activate her disguise.
"Man you girls take so long to get ready." Jack said sarcastically. Brandi playfully punched his shoulder before walking away. "Come on." She said playfully, beckoning him to fallow her as she put a little extra sway in her hips just for good measure. Jack watched her for a moment with an amused smile before fallowing alongside her. "You going to be alright? I kind of threw you around a bit back there." Jack asked with concern. "Don't worry Jack, I like it rough." Brandi said with a giggle. She noticed Jack was too concerned to care about the sexual innuendo. She thought it was sweet. "Don't worry Jack I've had worse. I also heal really fast like Kim does thanks to my powers. Speaking of which, let's get some food cuz I'm starved. Using my powers really burns a lot of energy." Brandi said with a sweet smile. Jack blushed ever so faintly. How could he say no to a face like that?
Jack fallowed her to a nearby Italian restaurant. It wasn't a franchise place but Jack thought it was much nicer than the Olive Garden they went to last time they went out. "This time is my treat." Brandi said with a sweet smile as they were seated. Jack just nodded a bit dimwittedly, it seemed Brandi had finally discovered how to make him like putty in her hands. "Her soft delicate hands…" Jack thought before shaking his head as he had come to that conclusion himself.
Dinner had gone well. They had both sat in silence but it was a very comfortable silence, the kind that didn't require wards to enjoy each others company. Jack had given her most of his meal which was spaghetti and meatballs along with her three servings of spaghetti and meat balls. The waitress had looked at her like she was crazy when she ordered three servings. Jack wasn't sure where she had put all that food but he was content just watching her eat and she didn't seem to mind him watching. Strangely enough it was a bit of a turn on watching her eat all that food. He knew he was weird.
Jack held the door open for Brandi as they left the restaurant. "So how we getting home?" Jack asked casually. "My car is in a nearby parking garage. I figured we take turns driving till we get home." Replied Brandi as she took Jack's hat off his head and put it on backwards. "Trapped in a car with you for 20 hours? Bring it on." Jack said with a playful smirk. "I'm sure you will manage." Brandi said with a playful smile and a predatory look in her eyes. "Jack looked away with a small blush." It seemed it was becoming harder and harder for him to resist her charms. "I'm just glad tomorrows the weekend so I don't have to go to work tomorrow." Jack said nonchalantly.
After a few minutes of walking they reached the parking garage and Brandi handed Jack the keys as they approached her car. "You want me to drive?" Jack asked as he took the keys. "Not if you don't think you can handle it." Brandi teased. "Pft. I can handle you can't I?" Jack asked in a snarky tone. "Don't know. You won't even let us share a bed." Brandi said with a devious smirk. "Your just a little green pervert, you know that?" Jack said with a mix of annoyance and slight amusement as they got in and Jack fired her Lancer up, giving it a few revs that echoed throughout the parking garage. "Alright, not bad." He said before doing the "not bad" face.
They both closed the doors as Jack put it in first and began to pull out of the parking space as he slowly let the clutch out. "Can I smoke in here?" Jack asked her "Only if I can smoke too." Brandi said slyly as she pulled out a joint and a lighter from inside her jacket. "Um, were not in Colorado." Jack said nonchalantly as Brandi lit up. "Since when do I fallow rules?" Brandi asked rhetorically as she let out a puff of smoke, giving Jack a contact high "I hope you're not planning on doing the speed limit all the way home." Brandi said in an un amused tone as they pulled out of the parking garage and onto the street.
"Who me? Hell no!" Jack said as he floored it than let off the gas as he downshifted and flicked the wheel to the left as he floored it again, causing the Lancer to drift with all four wheels spinning as he went through a light that was about to turn red. "Yeeeee Hhhaawwww!" Jack yelled as he did the drift. "Brandi looked at him as she laughed." Did you get a contact high? Brandi asked while still laughing. "Baby you gave me a contact high without the weed!" Jack exclaimed as he raced through the street. Brandi blushed at his comment.
Jack and Brandi sped down the interstate doing a steady 95 miles per hour as they shared a joint with the windows up. Jack took a hit than passed it back to Brandi. "So you ever notice how were both named after alcohol?" Jack asked a bit stoned. Brandi started laughing wildly before taking another hit. "Sounds like a match made in heaven to me." Brandi said while laughing. "So, you have PTSD?" Brandi asked casually. "Depends on how you want to define it. In one way or another everyone had some form of PTSD. Life is hard and it takes its toll on everyone. But if you're asking if I have like nightmares, or am afraid of fireworks, or suffer from random mental breakdowns, than no. I have dreams, sometimes. But they don't bother me anymore. So I can't classify them as nightmares." Jack replied. "What kinds of breams?" Brandi asked as she handed him back the joint. He took a puff. "Just dreams of combat, war, and strife." Jack replied calmly after letting out the smoke.
Jack passed the joint back. "So your fire. It's not like normal fire, it doesn't radiate any heat. How come? "Asked Jack. "I don't really know." Brandi said as she held a hand up and examined it. "All I know is I can control the intensity and it's behavior. Like if its lethal, or if it just stuns, burns I guess." Continued Brandi. "So how did you get them?" Asked Jack. "Hold on now, it's my turn to ask a question." Brandi said somewhat teasingly but Jack could tell it was something she wasn't ready to talk about.
"So you ever thought of being evil? And don't tell me you are evil." Brandi said with a slight warning. "No." Jack said emotionlessly. "I think you would be good at it." Said Brandi before finishing off the joint and flicking the rest out the window. "I know I would." Jack said coldly. Brandi looked at him a bit surprised by his tone. "…Your right Brandi. You're not like me. …You haven't seen, what I've seen." Jack continued. Brandi placed a hand on his shoulder in concern. She could sense the pain inside him, even feel it like he did due to their connection. "What's wrong Jack?" Brandi asked with soft concern.
Jack let out a long sigh. "Brandi… I'm going to level with you. People like you, and Drakken. You're not evil. You might think you are. But you're not. You're just hurt people rebelling against the world for what it's done to you. I've seen the real evil of this world…Murders, dictators. Those who purposely oppress, enslave and kill other simply because it brings them joy. When you think of war most people think the middle east. But the truth is there are countries all over this earth where people fight and die just to cling to the tiniest amount of freedom... You know Drakken doesn't think things through. You really think he realizes all the people who would die if his plans were to succeed? Do you? …You know I was a Green Beret. So I'm sure that you are aware that I have killed people. The truth is… I liked it. I liked it a lot. I liked the feeling of power to watch the life fade from another man's eyes. And it disgusts me. The truth is. The only thing that scares me is myself. So yes, I would be very, very good at evil." Jack said cold and darkly.
Jack's story, his emotions and tone of voice churned Brandi's stomach and made her want to puke. But she didn't want to believe it. Maybe she wasn't that kind of evil. Maybe she was? She remembered that she had tried to kill him a few times back when they had first met. But she refused to believe he was. "Jack…" Brandi said softly as she wrapped her arms around his shoulders and rested her head against him. "Thanks Brandi…" Jack said softly as he placed a hand on her arms.
Brandi thought about what Jack had said about how many people would die if Drakken's plans succeeded. She doubted he realized it. And she had never really thought about it either. She couldn't let people die. But she couldn't just give up villainy. Even if Jack accepted her the world wouldn't. The way she saw it that only gave her one choice. Stick to working for Drakken and somehow make sure people didn't die. Weather that was altering his plans, making sure Jack and Kim were able to stop him, or to sabotage his schemes herself.
A few hours later Brandi was asleep with her head on his shoulder. Jack looked at her with tender eyes. He knew that deep down he was evil. But it was people like Kim and Brandi that kept him good. It gave him someone to love and care for. A reason to be good. Without god and something to care about who knows where he would be. Jack's actions didn't bother him on a day to basis because he knew he had never killed someone who didn't deserve it. But what if he killed someone who didn't? Would he still enjoy it? Just than Jack was snapped from his thoughts by flashing red and blue lights shining through the windows. "Shit!" Jack said out loud. "What's wrong?" Brandi asked softly as she looked up from his shoulder and rubbed her eyes only to then see the flashing lights. "Is everything legal on this car, and do you have a legal ID with a clean record?" Jack asked with slight alarm. Weather he decided to make a run for it or not depended on her answer. Brandi groaned as she sat up. "Yea. …Pull over." Brandi said in defeat. "I just hope he doesn't smell the weed." Brandi added under her breath.
Jack pulled over to the side of the road and rolled the window down. Jack and Brandi watched in the mirrors as a rather mean looking officer stepped out of his Ford Crown Victoria squad car and approached Brandi's Lancer. The man was very tall around 6'7 and very very muscular. The officers face was clean shaved and he appeared to be bald, but it was hard to tell due to his hat. He also wore sunglasses even tho it was night time. Most likely to look intimidating. "Do you think you can take him?" Brandi whispered as a joke. Jack tried not to chuckle. "If this goes south I'm telling him you have taken me hostage." Jack joked back and they both tried not to laugh.
The officer reached the window and scowled at Jack. "I'm officer Knight. Do you know how fast you were going sir?" Said the officer in a very low and deep voice. "About 100" Jack replied honestly. "Is that weed I smell?" Asked officer Knight. "Were from Colorado sir." Jack joked. "Yea, I saw your tags. Smoking weed is illegal here in Iowa. Just so you know." Officer Knight said in a dismissive and warning tone, clearly displeased with Jack's attempt at humor. "Is this car stolen? Any weapons?" Asked officer Knight. Brandi shook her head. "I Keep a knife strapped to my left ankle a pistol to my right ankle, and I have a pocket pistol in my right pocket." Said Jack. Brandi's eyes widened in shock. She had no clue he carried guns and knives with him. In fact she had never seen any despite the fact that they were now living together. Tho she supposed that with his background she shouldn't be surprised. Tho she was very thankful he hadn't decided to just shoot her when they first met.
"I'm going to need you to step out of the car sir." Said officer Knight. Jack opened the door and steeped out slowly as he turned around and put his hands on top the car. Side by side it was easy to see how much bigger the officer was at 6'7 and Jack being at 5'9. The officer removed the large combat knife from its holster under jacks left pant leg than he removed the HK P2000sk from the holster on his right ankle. The officer then removed the items from Jacks pockets, his keys, his wallet, and his Frits Mann Model 1921 pocket pistol, which was no bigger than a credit card. The officer placed the items on the hood of the car.
Brandi sat in the car watching. She was becoming angry as she watched how the officer was treating Jack and she had to fight the urge to ignite her hands and blow the officer into the next county. She watched as the officer patted down Jack, getting a little too close to things she hadn't even gotten the chance to touch. Her right hand started to glow a faint green as she struggled to keep her anger under control. Luckily the officer was too busy to notice her glowing hand.
Officer Knight than opened Jack's wallet and pulled out his ID and looked at. "Jack Giri." Officer Knight said as if he thought the name sounded familiar. After a moment officer Knight stood at attention as he saluted Jack. Sergeant Major Giri Sir! I'm So sorry Sir! I didn't know it was you sir!" Officer Knight said somewhat frantically as if begging for forgiveness. Brandi looked on in surprises as her eyes widened and she extinguished her glowing hand as she lowered her head in an attempt to get a better look.
Jack slowly relaxed as he turned around. "Do I know you?" Jack asked with a bit of confusion as he examined the man's face as he tried to think. "William Knight, former Navy Seal, Sir! You don't know me sir but you're a legend in the special forces! Me and many of the other men look up to you sir!" Said William Knight in a still frantic tone. The irony of the fact that William looked up to him despite the height difference wasn't lost on Jack. "At ease soldier. It's alright." Said Jack. "Thank you sir!" Said William before Handing Jack back his things. Once Jack had put his things back where they belonged he got back in the car as a bewildered looking Brandi stared at him.
"I'll tell the other officers to be on the lookout so they don't pull you over." Said William in a slightly timid voice. "Thank you William. You have a good night." Jack said before starting the engine. "You too sir!" William said as he watched the grey lancer pull away as Jack rolled up the window. Jack continued to drive for a while, noticing that Brandi wouldn't stop staring at him. "Something wrong?" Jack asked casually. "What happened back there? You made that guy your bitch and you didn't do anything. Sergeant Major?" Brandi said with confused excitement. Jack just glanced at her with a raised eyebrow like she really shouldn't be surprised. "Why are you surprised?" Jack asked. "I mean I know you were a Green Beret, I just didn't know you were such a big deal." Brandi said as she continued in confused excitement. "Ouch Brandi, that hurts. Here I thought we were best friends and you didn't know I was a big deal." Jack said feigning hurt. "No, I didn't mean…" Brandi said, feeling stupid. "Relax Brandi, its ok. I'm still just a person and there's still plenty of things I don't know about you yet." Jack said in a calm and soothing voice. Brandi felt herself melt at the tone of his voice as she took a big breath and relaxed. "Yea, you're right. This really doesn't change things." Brandi said softly. Jack placed an arm around Brandi's shoulder and pulled her close to him. Brandi felt herself melt even further as she blushed faintly with her heart a flutter. "Is… Is this what they call being in love?" Brandi thought to herself as she melted into Jack's embrace.
The rest of the trip went smoothly with Jack and Brandi switching seats at every gas stop and each one sleeping between driver changes. By the time they reached home the sun was setting but neither one was tired since they slept along the way. "So what you want to do now?" Jack asked when he shut the car off in the driveway. Brandi thought for a moment. "You said you know of a place to go racing in the hills. How about we do that?" Brandi asked eagerly. Jack chuckled. "Were really testing the Lancer's durability. Driving 1,500 miles nonstop than going racing in the hills. Let's give up our day jobs and be automotive journalists." Jack Joked. Brandi laughed. "If only it were that easy. But does sound like fun. We could drive around in circles and yell at each other all day." Brandi Joked and they both laughed.
Jack and Brandi got out of the car with Jack going and getting in his Mazda and Brandi getting in the driver's seat of her Lancer. Jack fired his engine up and pulled out the driveway as Brandi fired her engine and fallowed him as they took off for the hills as the sun set.
Authors notes: I know Jack and Kim's story of how they met might not sound that exciting or like it would lead them to have as strong of a relationship as they do but Jack isn't the type to form bonds with just anyone so when he does it's a meaningful one. Jack and Shego/Brandi's relationship has progressed a lot faster than I had originally intended so I would like to know what everyone thinks about how they have progressed in the story. I also think what I'm going to do is have them do romantic bf gf type things but without them placing that kind of stipulation on their relationship. Also they won't kiss till further on in the story. One last thing, I wrote this chapter different than normal. Normally I wright the chapters out by hand with pencil and paper than type them up. For this chapter I just typed it up without writing it out freehand first. And I may do that for the rest of the story.
