The Return
Of
Angel Investigations
Disclaimer: Set past season 5 but ignores comics, mostly because I haven't read them in full. The Powers That Be intervened when the Senior Partners launched their assault with their own army and kept LA and largely the world from annihilation.
Summary: Its the return of Angel Investigations but with Connor at the helm of it.
"Man, seriously? A Cat Kidnapping Scheme?" Asked Connor in incredulous dismay while being one of the few left standing in the Warehouse that had been containing all the stolen Cats and Kittens from several neighborhoods.
"This life just gets weirder and weirder." Muttered a Hispanic male named Marc as he slugged a still awake Demon hard enough to knock him out.
Marc being a member of one of the Hunting crews of LA and even having been personally trained by Charles Gunn himself back in the day. His little brother had met Connor in College and things had gone from there to the point he had joined up with the new burgeoning form of Angel Investigations. Sure, Connor might not exactly be Human but he wasn't a Vampire either and it made it easier to stomach the idea of working with the kid. Sometime after the night Connor had helped his dad in fighting against Marcus Hamilton, the young man had been sent a video recording and some files from his dad in the event he didn't make it. Telling him that if he wanted, he could sell off Angel Investigations through David Nabbit since he had his own life but on the off chance that he for some reason wanted to continue it or to ask others if they wanted to continue the work, he could speak with David about helping to continue funding the company. Something the man was all too happy to do when Connor decided that he would continue the work of the company.
Even seeking out Kate Lockley to better understand how to be a Detective thanks to those files of Angel's. Connor would also even seek out Nina Ash to tell her the unfortunate news of Angel's death and what caused it. The young woman had been devastated by the news and had chosen to join the new Angel Investigations to help her ex's son in his new line of work. Even if her sister did think the whole thing to be a little strange. Illyria, not having a reason to continue on in a world that was far too different for her liking, had chosen to return to the Deeper Well and be its new Guardian until someone else could be found and she could rest once more in a Sarcophagus. Or that had been the plan until Fred's parents had somehow managed to track her down anyway. Connor also had a mild hatred towards the Scoobies as well for their lack of help in certain matters where Fred's conversion to Illyria and later the fight against the Black Thorn members were concerned. Something that would come to a head later on when the core Scoobies would show up looking for a word with him thanks to his numerous loud claims of being the son of Angel when fighting the good fight.
Something he knew would happen as well for a matter of fact since he had done all that intentionally. Gwen Raiden had even taken part in several investigations for the company as well, believing it as a way to honor Charles' memory. Lorne surprisingly didn't want a lot to do with the whole thing given what Angel had asked him to do where Lindsey was concerned and Connor understood and respected that. "Guess we better call Animal Control and the Police." Decided Connor after ensuring no other Demon was going to be getting up anytime soon.
Little did the young man know that he'd soon be preferring this sort of thing after Drusilla made her way into town, eager for some quality sibling bonding time with him.
Author's Notes: Not entirely sure it would make sense for Nina to actually join the new AI crew but oh well!
