They were given 15 more minutes to prepare for these last three matches.
Obito stretched in the hall he'd met All Might in, mind awhirl with ideas before a familiar face entered it.
"Onemu-sam?" He raised a brow at her as she waved at him. "What's going on?"
He kipped up into a crouch before standing up.
"... I need to know, you didn't figure out that breathing technique, did you?" She asked nervously and Obito chuckled.
"No, I haven't. I can't very well try something new like that here. It'd end badly," she looked relieved. "?"
"It's a family technique so that's been bugging me," she elaborated and he nodded. "I really shouldn't be explaining it like I did."
"I understand, I won't say anything about it. I haven't told anyone if you're worried. I wasn't about to just give my competition help when we're in the last few matches," he explained and she smiled in relief.
"Thanks… still, I could maybe teach you a few things. Not a lot, that'd be threading a line, but if you need to increase your lung capacity, have you considered deep-dive swimming?"
Obito considered it. "I've considered swimming before but considering I don't have such a deep place, I didn't do it."
"Well, if you want, there's a place on the right side of Hosu," she said with a grin. "I typically go there on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. I think the others should go, too. Kaoruko literally can hold her breath to change her bubbles, why not? This would do well for air combat, too, if you manage your lungs better."
Obito nodded. "I'll bring it up to them. You're right, this is a good idea."
She grinned.

Fuyumi paced back and forth in the hall she'd met her father in, the man sitting on the bench within with a contemplative look on his face.
"Natsu-kun is right. I could douse Obito-kun's flames but he won't stay down, he'll just get back up," she said but Enji's eyes glowed.
"But that's another chance to grab him with your quirk," he explained and she nodded. "If he's unable to attack, for even a moment, that gives you a chance to overtake him with your ice. The issue then comes that, of course, he knows that. He might even do as he did with that Bocho girl and just keep some flames outside your attack radius."
Fuyumi froze as she remembered that, yeah, Obito had done that! "Crap. Think. Think. Think!"
Well… she had a move that should work but the issue came with whether she could handle it.
"Dad, there's something I wanted to try," Fuyumi said as she came over to stand in front of him before raising her hand. "T-There's this idea I had."
She demonstrated it, ice raising as Enji observed.
"What's this one?"
She explained and his eyes widened at the idea.
"Yes, that could work but you can't do it enough times, can you?" He asked and Fuyumi frowned with a shake of the head. "This is new. Unfortunately, you can't practice it enough times to get it down to at least a workable thing. You and that boy are similar but he's clearly thought through his quirk's attributes and handled them in his own way," Enji continued as Fuyumi nodded… before freezing.
'Wait, that's right… Obito-kun does handle them uniquely,' she remembered.
"We've seen it, no? Your quirk and mine, they're similar in a lot of ways."
Her eyes widened. "D-Dad! We've got ten minutes so we have to use this time carefully!" She said as Enji raised a brow.
"What idea have you come up with?"
~NRK~
The time was upon them in seemingly seconds compared to the minutes they had.
Nemuri grinned atop the fixed stage. "Alright! We've finally come down to the wire! We've got the last three matches of the Freshman round! The semi-finals bracket is beginning with a BANG!" The crowd roared in response. "We've got two high-status contenders here! From the right corner! We've got the boy who's remarked that he'll be Number 1 and has kept that trend going! The Flames Emperor of the Freshman event with blazing steps!"
Obito chuckled as he entered the stage. 'A show, then?' He expelled a powerful breath.
And Keigo whistled at the burning entourage of wolves that followed alongside him.
"OHHH! Someone knows how to party!" Nemuri grinned as the flames exploded in front of Obito. "WE HAVE OBITO MIDORIYA!"
The crowd had their breaths taken and their spirits invigorated as the boy arrived.
~NRK~
"Hahahahahah!" Hizashi chuckled madly as Izuku, Katsuki, and Shouto looked on in complete and total awe. "Yes! Dominate!"
Inko, Rei, Masaru, Mitsuki, and Natsuo stared in awe, themselves. Obito's theatrics being impossible to not be amazed by.
Enji cupped his chin, impressed. "Didn't give her an idea for this," he said as Rei nodded slowly.
"Her quirk control isn't… she's going to need to greet him on the same stage, isn't she?" She asked and he nodded.
'What will you do, Fuyumi?'
~NRK~
"Hahahahha!" Yamada laughed as Vlad whistled and Nezu clapped.
"Impressive! Such showmanship is NOT unappreciated in the hero world!" The principal said with a chuckle. "These kids seem like they're really something else. Now, what will Fuyumi-kun do?"
~NRK~
"And in the right corner! Her bursts of ice have not failed her and won her rounds in seconds only akin to a quickdraw samurai!" Nemuri riled up. "We have the daughter of Enji Todoroki, Number 2 Hero in ALL OF JAPAN!"
A fierce passage of ice exploded out from the right corner before coiling up and around her part of the stage came dragons of ice that preceded the oldest Todoroki sibling.
Fuyumi Todoroki's hands lowered as she came out onto the field, the crowds erupting into an explosion of applause and cheers that Nemuri grinned at.
'These kids are amazing!' Oh, what she wouldn't have given to have them in her class!'
~NRK~
"Damn!" Moe whistled as Kido chuckled. "What's with these Freshmen?! Why are they so cool?!"
"Because life finds a way to one-up us," Kido said with a smirk as she snickered.
Rumi was on high alert, grin eternally plastered on her face as she leaned on the railings.
These kids were getting her ALL RILED-UP!"
~NRK~
Dabi balked at the display of icy prowess.
"The hell?" When was Fuyumi a showwoman?! 'This is all his fault,' he grunted at the previous student's entrance. "That guy's all kinds of problems."
As the girl made it to the stage, the two 'entrances' stayed as Midnight grinned knowingly.
'What the hell is she grinning about?' Something here felt like it should be obvious.
-Are both sides ready?!-
~NRK~
Shigaraki growled as the pro heroine announced it.
"Damn glory-whores," he hissed.
-I'm ready- Obito declared.
-I'm gonna win- Fuyumi said in response.
"What is this?! A manga tournament arc?!"
"Shigaraki," Kurogiri said flatly as the boy stopped, blinked, and grumbled. "It is."
-Let this match of ice and fire…- Midnight began before jumping back and bringing her arm down. -BEGIN!-
Ice and fire erupted onto the stage in an instant, the elements left before surging past their users to cause a steamy explosion that shocked Shigaraki out of his seat.
"H-Huh?!" He grunted as he hit the floor. "W-What?!"
"... They're the same," Kurogiri realized with narrowed eyes. "Their quirks are of a similar nature. The boy was able to call back those rampant flames from before in his previous match, remember?"
Shigaraki grimaced. "So, it's a trap-field card mix, huh?"
"... yes?"
~NRK~
Keigo's eyes replayed the previous seconds.
'That's smart,' what had just taken place wasn't something he'd predicted. 'Their quirks are similar, dammit,' he'd forgotten.
"You can activate your quirk a bit before the match actually starts," Kaoruko reminded the others. "Those entrances, they were more than just flashy. They were part of their plans from the very beginning," she said in awe. "That's ridiculous!"
"It is," Yu said. "If they can bring all of that out at us before we even know it, that's crazy scary," she grinned nervously.
"I-It's their advantages," Bocho said. "But O-kun's said it before. Use everything and never let one thing be one thing."
Onemu nodded. "If you can turn everything you do into a puzzle, I'd bet your opponents would have a harder time fighting you off. They'd be confused by what you're doing even if they know."
What scary quirks.
~NRK~
All Might hummed in the 'hero room' of the stadium.
The other heroes choked at the sight of him, Nagant and Kamui Woods included.
"W-When did you get here?!" She choked. 'I've never met him up-close before!' Nagant didn't know such muscles could sit on a body perfectly.
It was as attractive as it was horrifying. Who faced him and thought they were going to get away?!
"... You're taller in real life," Kamui Woods realized as the No.1 hero chuckled.
"I get that a lot," All Might said. "But, enough on me. What do you two think about the match's beginning?"
The two blinked before focusing back on the match. "It was smarter than I expected," Kamui Woods said as the steam covered the screens. "Those entrances were flashy as all hell but I didn't remember that Obito kid could recall his flames."
"Fuyumi-kun has never used that skill before. She must have come up with it before today or before the match," Nagant said. "I'm their Stealth Ops teacher and she's never brought up the idea. If anything, she never considered it from what I know."
"I see. These students are learning even now," All Might said. "And considering they all seem to have one similar factor, I'm more impressed with the boy's sheer aptitude."
It was true. Nagant knew Obito helped them out often, his tutelage wasn't to be underestimated.
'Where does such a genius come from?' She didn't know.
She just knew she was impressed.
~NRK~
The battlefield had been quiet for a mere couple of seconds before flashes of red and white cut the steam.
When it cleared, Obito and Fuyumi were atop one of the girl's arcing ice dragons while Obito had several flaming white orbs around him.
Gray eyes narrowed as black ones burned red.
Obito's flaming shots exploded out towards Fuyumi's quickly raised ice wall from the arc.
He began running up to her and hopped over the wall only to find nothing there, eyes widening before they flicked to the side, a pair of boot-covered feet slamming into his raised forearm.
Obito was pushed off as Fuyumi landed and slammed her hands down onto her ice arc.
Small ice dragons shot towards him and Obito shot out an expanding ball of fire in front of him, causing another eruption of steam.
Gray eyes flicked side to side of the steam before widening as a stream of red flame punched through her ice arc. She stumbled before two more broke it with ease.
"Ah!" She fell before grimacing.
Her hand touched one of the other falling pieces in the nick of time, ice erupting off it into a platform for her to use to stop herself from hitting the floor.
The bottom of her platform shot out into a spike that punctured the ground before she got any closer, giving her another perch to stand on.
She saw Obito standing on the ground, feet burning white, causing her to slam her hands onto her platform.
A burst of fire sent two burning feet slamming through the middle of her platform but Fuyumi already shot off of it with a smaller jutting platform.
As she landed on the stage, ice spread out from her feet in an instant before she rolled to the side on a hunch that proved correct as Obito crushed the ground she'd just been, steam shooting up into his face as he did.
She recovered and tossed her hand to the side and he could only cross his arms as a small pillar of ice slammed into them, shooting him up and into the original big ice arc she'd made.
'Got him,' she thought but didn't remain idle, rushing to the beginning of the arc.
She'd tried to slam her hand onto it, prepared to turn the arch into a burst of ice to capture him but then she saw cracks in the structure form with red spilling from each one.
Fuyumi was thrown back from the explosion of flames with a shout, tumbling a bit onto the floor as blazing flames ruptured the structure in front of her, steam exploding and tossing her hair back as she covered her face from the high-speed hot water vapor.
'My glasses,' they were getting in the way.
Still, as the steam came to a crawl, she formed numerous ice orbs on the ground all around her.
Red stars shone in the hot vapor and she breathed in before acting on her plan.
The ice spheres around her exploded upward, shooting through the vapor and past Obito who was standing several meters away from her, eyes looking up at them.
"Hmph," Obito grunted softly as those rising ice pillars stopped several meters into the air before spreading out into a rectangular flat dome, the cracking, creaking, and shifting of ice filling his ears. 'A roof of ice…'
Then he blinked at something peculiar.
His reflection greeted him on the 'roof'.
~NRK~
"Hm, hm!" Enji smirked as he sat with the others. "It's time for the beginning of plan 'Drown-Out'."
"Huh? What's the idea?" Hisashi asked.
"Hmm, it'll become clear once they fight some more," the hero said with a grin. "It's in the name."
"Hmm…" Izuku considered it. "Maybe since nii-chan keeps blowing fire, it'll melt on top of him!"
"That's true!" Natsuo said in awe. "If he does that, he can't use his fire as much!"
"Right… but what's stopping Bito-kun from just flying over it?" Mitsuki asked as Masaru hummed.
"... There's got to be more to it then," he said as Enji chuckled. "Of course, Fuyumi-kun knows about Obito-kun's flying ability. She'd also have to prepare for Keigo-kun's as well, wouldn't she?"
"Yea, she can't just not think about it," Katsuki said as he cupped his chin. "Nii-chan is a threat. She did something! She had to!"
Shouto tilted his head as he looked at the mirrors in the arena.
~NRK~
"Whoa, that was wicked!" Rumi said with excitement.
"It was super cool, no doubt," Kido said. "Man, and these guys are Freshmen. Never mind that the Fuyumi girl chose at the last minute. Think what she could do when she's actually better."
"It'll be a hot day," Moe said with a cackle. "Imagine the companies. Even after this, she and that Obito guy will probably have the most invitations if those other two don't show their best."
"No foolin'."
~NRK~
Yoha groaned at her mixing temperatures, Ryukyu not much better.
"I-It's so ugh," the girl groaned as the heroine chuckled.
"Y-Yeah, well, it's a part of the lizard thing, unfortunately," Ryukyu said. "Still, those two are throwing around some serious firepower. It'd be nice to have such things in our agency."
"Don't we know it?"
~NRK~
"My word," All Might chuckled as the other heroes whistled or cheered. "That's some firepower to throw around. It's impressive that they're not even past their first year, yet."
"UA really does luck out with some amazing students," one of the other heroes groaned. "Leave some for us!"
Kamui Woods chuckled. "It's not like it's our fault. You Shiketsu Alumni are still some of the best."
"That doesn't sound like an apology."
"It's partially not."
Nagant giggled a bit. "No hesitation, huh?" The wood man chuckled. "It's nice to have such power around, honestly. Add in the sheer versatility those two have, I know they'll be boons to anyone's hero agency."
"It's true," All Might said as the ice mirror happened. "Oh?"
~NRK~
"The hell is that?" Shigaraki blinked as he saw the 'roof'. "What's she doin'?"
"It reflects images rather clearly. Perhaps she's hiding and using that to see this Obito boy," Kurogiri said. "But, the boy has proven smart enough to do the same. Something about this is different."
Shigaraki frowned. "Like an enchantment?"
"Essentially."
~NRK~
Dabi raised a brow at how the two went at it for the first 30 seconds.
'... Fuyumi's that good?' That was scary, wasn't it?
How had the boy brought up her level so much? Where did such a kid come from!?
"He's too good himself," the way that Obito kid had gotten out of every one of her traps spoke of abilities that were beyond that of a student. "..." His fists clenched.
This just wasn't good. The boy was beyond powerful with a quirk that he seemed to make more than just his own.
He'd made it an almost Almighty power like Endeavor.
Heated blue eyes narrowed as his fingers cracked.
~NRK~
Obito frowned as he looked at the mirror roof some more. 'It'll melt more and cut me off?' That didn't make sense, though.'
Something was off.
He didn't get time to think about it as ice rained down on him from above, sharp needles that came down in volleys where he was.
"Hmph!" He dodged into some rolls, flips, and lunges before turning around mid-jump, mouth puffed-out. "Gokyaku!"
A ball of red flames slammed into the roof of their arena and he landed into a skid as he watched his work.
…?! His eyes widened as barely touched ice greeted him. 'What?'
What was special about this-
Some curled around his leg and he looked down to see a rising root of ice on his shin.
A sharp burst of flame cut through it and he jumped back, minding the edge of the arena.
Then he jumped to the side to dodge a volley of ice needles. 'It's an environmental trap?' He looked around, Sharingan blazing as they looked onto Fuyumi's hiding place. 'Got you!'
He flipped upside-down before tossing his head to the side, flaming spewing from his lips.
It cut through the top of her hiding place and Fuyumi's head popped out like a groundhog before she yelped and ran out.
Obito made to give chase before coming to a halt as icicles rained down at him.
'What?' His eyes widened as he jumped back before rolling to the side, dodging another set. 'They're still attacking?' His eyes went to Fuyumi before they went wider.
Because the girl grinned shakily as she ran to the other end of the arena, hands set into the familiar Dragon handsign.
"Clever girl," he grunted as he dodged to the side before focusing.
Fuyumi's eyes widened as Obito rushed towards her in a zig-zag style between icy projectiles, the boy unprevented.
'Is this good enough?' She thought as she ran, eyes moving to a thick bit of ice on her left forearm that was mirror-like.
If one could hear it properly, they'd hear constant cracking.
'... It'll have to be,' she realized, a strain growing in her mind. 'How could he do this so often?' A silly question.
Obito probably worked on his quirk more than anyone would ever understand. Perhaps the closest would be Keigo and she didn't want to see him get the chance to compare!
She was gonna win!
Fuyumi skidded to a stop and Obito did so as well as the ice volley stopped, the girl's breath coming out quickly.
"Finally decided to bring your 'weapon' to this fight?" He asked as she smiled before the shield-like ice structure came into view. "?"
"You're not an easy person to beat," she said as she held her 'shield' arm's wrist, widening her stance. 'It's heavy,' Fuyumi realized she might need to work out more to make this viable. "I've made several plans to fight you."
"I'm honored," Obito said as he put his hands on his hips, a stream of flames leaving his mouth and coiling around his legs. "Now, are you actually ready for me to throw more at you?"
She smiled.
Obito was already up in the air as an ice spire shot up from beneath his feet.
Arcing white flames destroyed it in a second but Obito's eyes locked onto Fuyumi as she came off the top of it, shield-arm reared back.
Then her other hand came off her wrist and she held up a half-Tiger seal.
And Obito's eyes widened as the 'shield' expanded in his direction.
The arena rumbled as the explosive move erupted over Obito's form, blocking him from view.
The crowd was shocked.
~NRK~
"Wait, what?" Inko looked shocked along with everyone else save for Enji.
"Yes, the main plan has been enacted," Endeavor explained. "Fuyumi didn't have big moves to bring to this fight. None that'd give her an actual chance before she made her Mirror Ice," he said.
"The ice nee-chan has been working on the entire last week," Natsuo explained as Shouto nodded, Rei the only one not in the loop. "It's the hardest ice she can make."
"Yes. The thing with her Mirror Ice is that it requires time to prepare," Enji added. "It requires that or a lot of ice and water. That's why we made use of the plan, Drown-Out. Obito's not thinking when he destroys her ice with his flames. He doesn't fully grasp that Fuyumi's quirk is different in smaller ways compared to his. It's that familiarity that we needed to exploit."
Masaru hummed. "We saw how Obito's red flames did very little to it. As for his white ones, that's still in his repertoire. Never mind he still has techniques to make use of."
Enji grinned and Masaru chuckled.
"Of course, she knows all of that."
~NRK~
Obito frowned as he looked at his trapped limbs, having jumped back at the last of the last second to dodge Fuyumi's surprise attack.
It left him vulnerable, though, so he made haste in releasing himself.
'Still, I didn't think she could do that,' he'd have thought that constant layering would simply be that, just layers.
But that wasn't the case for Fuyumi's quirk, was it? It wasn't just layered. It was tons of her quirk applied to a small area. A 'charge' of her quirk.
Obito smirked as she appeared above him, his limbs free.
She brought the heavy shield down on his head and he grabbed her arm, Sharingan blazing and noting all the details he needed as he threw her down towards the ground.
"Ugh!" She bounced once, the frost on her left arm causing it to tremble as Obito looked down at her, atop her previous attack's structure. 'I-It's very dangerous!' Fuyumi already felt her chest getting light.
Using the Frost Burst Shield wasn't feasible for her, for now. At best, it was a counter-attack, shield, or single attack meant for finishing the fight or outlasting her opponent.
Said opponent being a genius in the art of combat, so that was already a blow to her chances. Still, she had chances!
Obito wasn't exactly invincible and she'd learned that, yes, he could be brought down.
Speaking of. "Not g-going to fly?" She asked cockily and Obito snorted.
"You've grown in the week I haven't monitored your training, haven't you?" He said as she got up, his own limbs hissing at him. 'That attack… despite the drawback, I'm suffering the same thing.'
Instant frostbite or, well, damn-near close.
His forearms were killing him right now, the middle of them being especially tender. He spat out flames that coiled around them in three white rings emanating heat. His arms rebelled and Obito hissed before focusing his energy inward and it slipped beneath his skin.
The instant relief told him that, yes, it was that bad.
'I can't let her hit me in the chest,' that'd basically spell his defeat.
How invigorating. The spirit of competitiveness within him stoked as he found these interesting lights in a well of what felt like no challenge.
Now, that wasn't the case.
Fuyumi had gotten up and ice built at her feet.
Obito simply kept looking down at her as she shot above his head in under a second, left arm raised.
A harsh kick to her side sent the girl sailing, her eyes closed in pain before she waved her Frost Burst Shield back, allowing built-up ice to release, stopping her flight barely by the inside bounds.
Or, as it should be noted, her ice was outside the arena but her body was still within.
She looked down before dropping, landing on shaky feet. 'No hesitation!' She brought her foot up and stomped down, breath hissing against her lungs.
No! She could still keep going!
Obito crouched before letting out a long breath, white flames sticking to his heels.
He launched at her like a shot cannonball, the girl's eyes narrowing as she raised her left arm.
"Aias's Prevention!"
Obito's eyes widened as a wall of continuously spreading ice appeared in front of him.
Too late to slow down, he coiled the heat around his legs several times as he held up the Snake handsign.
"Flame Gait!"
The blow slammed into it before forming a crater that spread out among the bursting ice. Obito grimaced before forming the Tiger seal.
"Version 2: Burst Blight."
Fuyumi's feet dug into the ground as the force on her protection doubled, a bright white light licking over the sides of her barrier.
'Even this isn't enough!?' It wasn't all her skill had in it but that wasn't much! 'I won't get a chance to charge it again!'
Once it was gone, she'd be down her biggest advantage.
Fuyumi began to panic as the force of his blow cracked her wall regardless of its continuous bursts… before the flames died down and Fuyumi looked around her and then up as red light fell over her.
Gray eyes widened a large ball of flame.
"SHIT!" She cursed for the first time in her life, throwing her right arm into an arc before rushing up the steeply curved wave of ice she'd made.
She jumped off the top just in time to get out of the immediate blast radius, on the other side of her shield construct.
The thing held as she grinned before bringing her hands together into a handsign.
Obito's eyes narrowed as he saw it. 'The roof or the construct?' Then he heard the ice crinkles from above and nodded. 'The roof.'
He shot around in the air below it, dodging small ice dragon constructs that slammed into one another randomly, spreading ice particles and shards below.
As he flew by, Obito took key shots to send out sharp kicks that carved into the Mirror Ice but not much else.
Fuyumi shivered as flakes of frost slipped off her left arm. 'Keep it up!' She told herself as she held the handsign even as the mental strain began to build. "Ha… Haa…" Keep it up!
Obito frowned as he came around to the top of the roof before he came to a sudden halt, the reason being?
There was something on it that gave him much pause.
"... It's a giant-"
"GET HIM!" Fuyumi commanded as she opened her hands before slamming them together into a tight grip.
The roof folded up.
The sound deafening as it did.
~NRK~
"Holy shit!" Kaoruko jumped along with the others as the giant wall trap went off without a hitch. "She did it!"
"Hrk!" Keigo choked at the idea of that happening to him. "Oh, God, I think my claustrophobia is acting up."
"You have that?"
"I do now."
Yu shivered as the air around the battlefield grew colder. "She's taking everything she can to put him down," she said as Bocho and Onemu nodded, Umi shivering.
"Isn't that a bit much, though?" She asked and the others considered it with a wince. "H-He could suffocate in there!"
"Yeah but I know Fuyumi's not going to stop until she knows she's won," Onemu said with a nod. "It's only fair, right? Obito's not an idiot, though, that's where this gets weird. That ice is pretty thick but he's been able to carve into it before."
That was true. What was he doing?
And would it be enough?
~NRK~
"That should cinch it," Endeavor said with narrowed eyes as Inko wobbled. "It's fine, she's not trying to kill him. But making sure he's unconscious? That's important."
Rei sweatdropped as Izuku paled along with Katsuki. "T-That's a bit… much."
"..." Hisashi cupped his chin as Masaru raised a brow. "... There's no way for it to be a perfect seal, it's just not reasonable," he said as Enji raised a brow.
"Perhaps, she's not able to perfectly mold the top of the roof."
"Exactly," he grinned as he leaned back in his seat. "I believe this is where Obito will bring out something similar to Fuyumi-kun. This is where he'll strike back. He doesn't just use oxygen from outside, ya know?"
Shouto looked confused as he looked from Hisashi back to the 'trap'.
Blue and gray eyes blinked as blue seemed to shine off the ice.
~NRK~
"Dammit! Get out of there!" Rumi commanded.
"Hey now, you think you could have gotten out of that?" Kido asked with a long whistle. "Because, I don't like your chances, damn."
"Yeah, uh, I don't think I could make that go away," Moe said as her hair formed together into a single thick form. "Flying is one thing, breaking through what looks like three feet of fire-resistant ice? That's another."
Rumi huffed, rabbit ears flagging-
"Huh?"
~NRK~
Nezu hummed as Yamada choked.
"That's lethal!" He squeaked as Vlad frowned.
"It's not meant to be but, yes, I doubt Obito can release himself from that," the man said with a chuckle. "It's a good match. The fact remains, he couldn't have predicted for Todoroki to bring out ice that can resist his flames."
The principal nodded, prepared to press a button on the intercom when he saw… something.
Something rather fascinating.
~NRK~
"Hmph, suck it, dickhead," Shigaraki said with a snicker. "Serves you right."
"What, though? You still haven't figured it out, have you?" Kurogiri asked as the teen huffed.
"I… I still don't know," he said as he leaned on the counter. "Hmph, so, the princess is the-"
Then something happened.
~NRK~
Dabi huffed a bit even as he examined this so-called 'fire-resistant ice'.
"Could that get in the way?" He had some serious firepower.
She seemed to only be getting better, though. That was concerning-
Blue rocked the screen and Dabi's eyes widened slowly.
"What?"
~NRK~
Fuyumi let out rapid, haggard, but victorious breaths as she brought the trap down to the ground.
'I won't let you just look ahead. Look at me,' she thought with little hesitation or embarrassment.
Showing him that she was strong was important.
So, when she let out a relieved breath, Fuyumi had blinked as she saw something black.
It was weird, in the light, looking at her trap, Fuyumi blinked at the black spot.
Then it burned blue and her eyes began to widen.
Then the top half of her trap-attack disintegrated before her very eyes as an explosive, spiraling, beam of blue flames overtook the top half by power and size before slowly transitioning into white ones.
The crowd went silent as the attack ended, leaving Fuyumi to stare at two hissing halves of her second-biggest attack before they creaked as they fell to the floor.
Leaving a gasping, on one of his knees, Obito in its wake with his right eye closed as the other shifted back to its normal black.
His mouth even still smoked as he gasped before wincing as he coughed out some more, hissing as veins were visible up his neck, forehead, arms, and by his left eye.
Obito got to his feet as she stood across from him, eyes wide and trembling in disbelief at his steaming form. Each of his hisses like hot mist that cloaked him even in the sunlight.
With her trap cut, her stamina drained, and her chest feeling light, Fuyumi found herself audience to power she couldn't contain.
~NRK~
Keigo nearly stumbled out of his seat as Kaoruko choked mid-sentence.
Yu blinked twice while Bocho and Umi paled.
Onemu shivered at the idea of something like that being aimed at her.
"Yeah, no, fuck that."
~NRK~
Hisashi laughed like the proud dad he was as his family and the others gaped at what'd taken place.
Enji's eyes widened at the power that a boy could produce. 'It's just like…' Was he capable of matching him? '... No, it's not strong enough… but it's close,' Enji's hands clenched. "Fuyumi."
"W-What was that?!" Mitsuki said in disbelief. "That makes anything Katsuki does wimpy in comparison!"
"H-Hey!? What's that supposed to mean, you old hag?!" Katsuki growled before his mother shot it back twice as badly.
"Who are you calling a hag?!"
Inko let out a sigh of relief as Shouto's eyes widened at the idea of doing that… but it was familiar.
"T-That looks like dad's… Prominence Burn," he whispered as Natsuo choked.
~NRK~
Rumi nearly fainted at the idea of fighting that!
"I want to so bad," she said with excitement and tears of joy as Kido and Moe looked at her like she was insane.
No, wait, she clearly was!
"W-What planet does she come from?" Kido asked with a raised, trembling, finger. "I don't like it. Can we send her back?"
Moe began to steam as she sweat bullets.
Yeah, no, these kids were ridiculous.
~NRK~
Yoha and her snakes leaned back with hisses, jumping at the rise in heat before feeling their blood chill at what Obito had just unleashed.
"H-Huh?" Her mouth trembled along with Ryukyu's, the dragonness's arms going limp.
"W-What is this kid?!"
~NRK~
All Might chuckled. "Glorious firepower."
Nagant, Kamui Woods, and basically every other hero just sat there stunned dumb at him.
The woman didn't know how to respond. "..."
"..." Kamui Woods was not far behind her.
What the hell were they feeding these children?!
~NRK~
Nezu cackled as Yamada's visors fell sideways.
"Who?!" He shrieked as Vlad blinked thrice.
"... Oh."
~NRK~
Shigaraki fell out of his seat, again, as he gaped along with Kurogiri.
"The hell is this?!" He yelled as the bartender frowned despite how hard that was to see.
"... bad news."
~NRK~
Dabi's eyes widened and trembled as his hands shook before grabbing the edges of the chair he was in.
"... Fuck him! Fuck him! He does not get to do that!" He growled. 'It's just like the Prominence Burn!'
How?! The boy wasn't nearly as powerful as Enji Todoroki… right?! It shouldn't be possible!
"... I need to deal with him," it wasn't a question anymore.
Obito Midoriya needed to be dealt with before he got powerful enough to get in the way.
~NRK~
He balked in complete and utter disbelief.
"I-I-Isn't he just a kid?!" He squeaked along with the crowd. "W-What?!" His quirk wasn't nearly as cool as that! "O-Oh man! Some people get ALL the luck!"
Life wasn't fair!
~NRK~
Fuyumi stared in horror as Obito's eye landed on her.
Her frost-covered arm's hand curled before she rushed him.
Her last chance to win this… While Obito was weakened!
Her glasses fell off her face and she grimaced as his form became a blur. She was mentally tired to consider much else, though.
She had her last bit of a chance on her arm, the shield beginning to elongate into a blade of ice, a katar on her arm.
Fuyumi reached him in seconds, Obito's shape all she focused on.
She made that last step to clear the meter between them and swung.
Obito's tomoe spun.
Fuyumi choked on her breath as a fist and body slammed into her stomach.
Her momentum was arrested and her body trembled, weak and in need of rest.
"D-Dammit," her blade arm tried to reach for Obito's neck and he let out several weak breaths. "I-I can't…" So close.
So close.
But it was for naught, the weight on her arm brought it back down to hang limply, the strength in it gone.
"N-No…" She grit her teeth even as her knees buckled, Obito's body the only thing holding her up as he kneeled down to keep her steady. "D-Dammit, I…" the tears began to build but Obito sighed as he reached up and flicked her forehead. "H-Huh?"
"No tears," Obito said as he trembled to his feet before lifting her into his arms. "Despite where we currently stand."
Nemuri checked them over before nodding, raising her flag. "The match has been decided! Winner: Obito Midoriya!"
The cheers erupted in the stadium as Fuyumi sighed… only for her eyes to widen as she heard something… impossible, right?
"FUYUMI! FUYUMI! FUYUMI!"
"W-What?" She nearly choked on her own tongue. "W-Why?! I-I didn't," Fuyumi bit her lip as the tears began to fall, Obito chuckling as he lifted her into his arms.
"Because no matter what, I may have won this fight but you won their hearts," the former shinobi said as she sniffled. "So, raise your head high, Fuyumi. You've arrived completely."
She cried as he chuckled.
Because she was at the peak.
This was her hero academia.
~NRK~
"Hmph," Enji, Rei, and the Todoroki brothers got up. "We'll-"
"Go on, you know where she is," Masaru said with a chuckle as Enji nodded.
"I'll go check on our boy," Hisashi said to Inko who nodded.
"I'm sure not even he's unscathed after all that," she noted.
~NRK~
"We need to go and see her!" Yu declared as their friend group got up. "... Screw it!"
She jumped down into the arena and the others followed suit, the entire group running after Obito and Fuyumi.
Coming after them were Yu, Rumi, Moe, Kido, and Endeavor along with his family.
It was a regular old parade of people.
~NRK~
Shigaraki growled before leaving. "I'm not enjoying this anymore," he grunted, dragging three of his fingers over the wood.
"... Haa, what a mess," Kurogiri frowned as he looked back at the TV with a narrow-eyed gaze. "If the rising futures of society are this powerful, things won't be simple, master."
Especially if All Might chooses one of them as his successor.
~NRK~
Dabi just watched the madness take place in the arena.
"... He can't be Enji Todoroki," his fingers trembled again as he watched the man carry his family after the two previously-fighting students. "Noooo," Dabi hissed as his hair covered his eyes, hands digging into the TV.
He wouldn't accept this!
He'd not been thrown away! Fuck him! And fuck that Obito boy!
He was going to kill him!
~NRK~
Fuyumi blushed as Recovery Girl grunted.
"Can you all, I don't know, be easy!?" A short old woman grunted as the group behaved. "Honestly!"
Her skin was riddled with wrinkles and her dark grey hair was tied back in a high bun.
Wearing a white dress with red, with yellow borders, on each side and secured by a belt, she walked in with her doctor's coat strung over her shoulders with her pink boots on.
Her cane clacked against the floor as she looked at Obito expectantly, the boy chuckling nervously as his bandaged arms and shins were on full display.
"Hope those helped," Kido said as the Freshman nodded.
"Thanks," Obito said.
"What happened?" Fuyumi asked him and Obito hummed.
"That compression shield of yours almost immediately gave me frostbite," he explained as her eyes widened and Enji hummed in thought. "That move is very capable of ending a fight in an instant, it just needs a bit more training and understanding than you made up at the last minute."
"I see, it's true, especially when she uses your handsigns," Enji said as Keigo whistled.
"Oh, crap, that's right. She totally stole your style! It was great!" He said as Kaoruko snickered along with Yu.
"It was a rather ingenious plan," Yoha said as Fuyumi blushed a bit before nodding. "I didn't expect it, though. Not in the least."
"I was almost worried," Rumi said as Obito snorted. "Didn't think a giant mousetrap would be your undoing for a bit there but you came through."
"I-It wasn't a perfect fit," the bedridden girl explained as Shouto and Natsuo sat on the side of her bed while Rei sat in the chair in between hers and another. "Maybe it's because it was so last moment. I've never automated my quirk before," she said as Ryukyu blinked while Enji nodded.
"That likely should have been focused on more," he said as Obito shrugged.
"I had to make sure they all got their time. Besides, as she just said, trying to have her automating out of nowhere wouldn't be a good idea despite how what she did says otherwise. My mother can relate, there's a mental strain that if you're not used to it, you'll put yourself into a bad place," he added as Inko nodded.
"It's not easy. I think Fuyumi-chan was okay with it, compared to me, because my quirk's a lot tinier when it comes to what it does," the mother of two said. "But automating, alone, is already a big mental hurdle."
"I-It was," Fuyumi agreed. "But the handsigns helped a lot. Especially since watching Obito-kun do them all the time already gave me the sort of mental trigger to use them more properly."
"Oh, I never thought about that," Inko considered. "I always considered it to be Obito-kun's method. I never considered using it like he can."
"You should, I don't mind," Obito said. "Mental commands essentially come from you for me. If I can do this, you could likely do something far more unique, mom."
"Hm, hm, perhaps."
Recovery Girl nodded before her lips stretched and gave Obito a smooch on his cheek, the sounds of hissing coming from his limbs. "Hmm, that's pretty deep," the old woman said as she tapped his forearms before doing the same to his shins. "Well, your arms are the worst case. I suppose it was due to you having your flames on when it happened."
"Is everything going to be alright with O-kun?" Bocho asked as Obito undid his bandages.
Onemu hummed at his new scars while Yoha's snakes' tongues flicked out.
"Hmm, well, he's not releasing a weak smell, so he's probably fine," the snake girl said as the others chuckled or nodded. "H-Hey! I'm just doing my best to help my underclassmen."
"Well, it's not the worst thing that could have happened," Hisashi said. "Still, that was quite the fire breath you pulled off."
Obito hummed at that as Enji grew interested. "Yes, well, I don't remember a part of it," he admitted as the group balked. "Thankfully, Fuyumi didn't know how to actually seal people away yet," the girl blushed. "Still, I was going to burn through the oxygen in a lot of my cells to try and use the Great Divine Dragon Flame," he said the technique's name.
"Oh. So you do have a technique that can do that?" Enji considered.
"It's a rather dangerous one. It requires a lot of internal oxygen," Obito explained.
"I mean, air is air," Yu said but he shook his head.
"I can't control the air outside my body but I can to the oxygen inside as I begin to burn it," Obito explained as Recovery Girl huffed. "It's not a safe technique, I know, ma'am."
"Youth these days, why, you should take better care of your body. You essentially used almost all of it," she explained as Obito raised his brow. "Your veins were very hot, young man. It's likely that you didn't notice because the girl over there was completely cold. You two balanced one another's states out by luck."
Fuyumi tilted her head. "I-I'm confused."
"Anaerobic respiration is comparable to what you did," the old woman explained as Hisashi cupped his chin. "But, in this case, you literally burned the oxygen out of your body."
"Well, you probably burned a lot of things," Hisashi said. "I mean if your blood was hot. The liquid in your body might have even dropped a level or two," he frowned.
"Yes. Your entire body began to burn up, it's very dangerous," Recovery Girl said.
"Understood," Obito said as Fuyumi frowned.
"... O-Obito-kun," she spoke and he raised a brow.
"Yes?"
"W-Well, your flames. You can only use red and white ones, right?"
"Why?"
"I know I saw something," Fuyumi explained as Keigo raised a brow as Moe tilted her head.
"Saw what? I mean, we saw that he can make his flames hotter like this but that ain't it chief," he said as Kaoruko nodded.
"But Fuyumi was up close, she might have seen something we couldn't," the bubble girl said and he shrugged.
"Talk away."
"There was something black in the beginning," Fuyumi said as Obito blinked, surprised. "It turned blue but I k-know I saw it."
"Black flames?" Obito frowned at that. 'No, that shouldn't be possible, right?' It'd make no sense for him to have Amaterasu.
For one, he'd never even had the technique, the other was that he had Kamui. It shouldn't be possible.
"Another type?" Enji huffed as Shouto made an awed sound. "Black flames… I don't think I've ever seen that before," he considered everything he'd learned about flames to further his own quirk. "... Those aren't normally possible… but if you change the wavelength of them along with barely producing light. They'd be some of the weakest flames, hypothetically."
'Weak flames that barely produce light?' Light, something light. "I'll look into it. Maybe Fuyumi's attack had a bigger effect on me than expected," Obito offered and the girl blushed with a pout.
Well, things weren't going badly, at least.
~NRK~
Obito rolled Fuyumi around in a wheelchair to their families' section, the crowd giving their cheers to him and her, much to the girl's embarrassment.
"Mmmm."
"Hm, hm, hm, it's to be expected, Ice Samurai."
Fuyumi felt her entire face go bright red. "S-Stop it!" She squeaked as her mother giggled a bit while Mitsuki grinned.
"Hey, it's a hell of a title. Unlike Mr. Flame Emperor over here," the fiery woman said with a cackle as Obito smirked.
"It's certainly a title," he said as Enji huffed while Natsuo oohed and awed.
"That's so cool," he whispered. "Did you come up with a hero name yet?!" Natsuo asked with excitement.
"I did," Obito said. "I might workshop it into my title a bit, though. It's certainly a nice addition."
"What is it?!" Shouto asked with excitement as they came to their seats.
"You'll know, come to my internship. I think Fuyumi should probably come up with her own before she's caught off-guard."
"Ah, yes, a hero's name is important, Fuyumi," Enji said with eyes alight with determination as Fuyumi chuckled nervously. "Have you considered what to base it on?"
"W-Well… since I don't really physically do much yet," Fuyumi said slowly with some embarrassment. "But I've been called the 'mage' of our group, maybe something related to that?"
"Oh, right! You guys are in an Adventurer's party now!" Katsuki grinned as the others chuckled. "So, ya gotta pick a role and be good at it!"
"Not wrong," Hisashi said. "Yu-kun and Bocho-kun can do great at being large protections and reach areas where you can't easily. Obito's simply an all-rounder but, above all else, he's a fighter who'd do his best by patrolling and capturing villains."
"Kao-nee and Keigo-san could do detective work," Izuku suggested as Obito nodded. "I don't know if Yoha-san is joining you guys."
"She's supposed to," Fuyumi said. "So, in that same way. Rescue can fall between her, Bocho, and Yu. Onemu, Obito, and I can handle patrolling. While Kaoruko can do investigative work with Obito, Keigo, and Yoha-senpai. They're versatile."
"So, if you focus on capturing, you'll have your niche," Enji considered as the arena was finally cleaned-up. "You've already surpassed your original goal," he said with a nod as Fuyumi blinked while Obito chuckled.
"You've finally made a trap house," the former shinobi said as Fuyumi's mouth fell. "Yes. It seems you can now move onto a more autonomous skill," Obito praised as Fuyumi looked down at her hands.
"... I will," she said with determination as Masaru chuckled.
"Nee-chan's doing super well," Shouto said with a small boy's determination. "And hers were even bigger than my pile!"
"Ah, oh," Rei remembered. "That 'roof' was clearly taller than our house," she said as Fuyumi grinned.
"S-Still, making that isn't really feasible. I'd need more prep time."
"Hmm…" Obito considered something as Izuku tilted his head.
"A Support Item," they said in unison before looking at one another and nodding.
"Hmm, I didn't consider it," Enji said as Shouto blinked.
"Dad, I don't think you use Support Items," he said and the man shrugged.
"I do but it's mostly just in my costume. I get hot, Shouto. It's not feasible to try and make, say, a weapon or machine to cool me down to carry. It'd simply get in the way."
"Oh, I thought you just didn't like them."
"No, not really," Enji shrugged once more. "I simply can't make use of them. I have a drawback that Obito has only just touched. I overheat if I push myself too far."
"Ugh," the boy shivered as he nodded before hesitating.
"Your body is there to help you… to make sure you don't have the same mistake of a body I do," the man said slowly as Rei blinked at him. "It's not right to say you have my quirk, anyway. That quirk is yours with no drawbacks if you learn well enough… remember that."
The boy's eyes shined as he looked at his hands with a grin.
"I will!"
Obito smirked as Fuyumi smiled brightly.
Things were really going great.
~NRK~
Dabi flinched as the cameras watched the two interact.
The way Endeavor hesitated with some conflict before saying something.
And how Shouto Todoroki grinned, how his eyes shined, and how he looked at his body like it was… good.
What the hell was going on in that household?!
~NRK~
The group looked down as the next big match began.
Keigo seemed to fly out with a flurry of his glowing red feathers while Kaoruko flipped onto the arena with a bubble as her landing pad, like a queen of bubbles facing the feathered swordsman.
~NRK~
Nemuri chuckled. "I hope you guys are ready to bring some fantastic energy to this arena once more!" She declared as Kaoruko grinned while Keigo smirked.
"If I win too fast, don't hold it against me," the boy said as Kaoruko snickered.
"Then don't mind me when I rain on your parade," she said as bubbles kept coming out from her arms.
Keigo didn't hesitate to have his feathers at the ready and Kaoruko grinned wider.
"Then let the match between Keigo Takami and Kaoruko Awata… BEGIN!" Midnight declared as she jumped back.
Keigo grinned before blinking as Kaoruko pulled her pants legs to reveal small ankle braces? "...?!" His eyes widened as she took them off before hopping in place a bit. 'Weight?!' When?!
That's why she was heavier than usual? But that wasn't a lot-
Then she pressed something on her thighs and he blushed as two more rings dropped.
God, he was a pervert if that's where his mind went!
"Thanks for waitin'," she said with a grin as she hopped in place a bit before Keigo shot back. "Too late."
The bubble beneath her feet burst explosively and she shot towards him in seconds.
'I gave her too much time!' Dammit, brain! 'Still, I can still accelerate!'
Then she raised out her hands at him as he began to pull away.
Keigo's right hand came out from over his shoulder, slashing the bubble before it could reach him.
He smirked before the smell caused him to stumble into a kick that he blocked awkwardly.
Keigo's backward flight ended as he landed on shaky feet before blocking a knee to the face.
'I can't allow him to take flight yet!' Keigo's advantages were simply too great for her to handle after a certain point.
"Adapt, focus, isolate and manage resources. Those four concepts will allow you to face off against most folk," Obito said. "But you need a body that will apply itself and that's why you're getting the first couple of days. We're gonna try to increase your physical abilities as much as we can."
She swung out with a kick that Keigo blocked with a feather sword before Kaoruko flipped over him, the bird boy turning around to face her before his eyes widened as bubbles floated in an arc over him, the ones behind him popping gently around and filling the air with the scent of bleach.
'A trap!' Keigo dodged to the side as the bubbles burst with his quick movements. 'And they're sensitive!' This chick was really clever! 'Still, I can now use my advantages!'
His wings flapped as he jumped up… before his flight got screwy!
"What?!" Keigo grimaced as he landed awkwardly, skipping back before coming to a halt. 'What'd she do-' He thought as he looked at his wings before his eyes widened.
Sticky residue sat on the red plumage. It seemed both sticky and slick as his wings flapped once and they seemed to stick together in odd clumps.
'She got rid of my advantage so quickly!' It'd been obvious before, from the little puzzles they'd done.
Fuyumi, him, Yoha, and Kaoruko were the best, fastest, and most accurate at quick-thinking. So, her planning wasn't as unfounded as he should have known.
She lunged at him and he grinned shakily before meeting her grab with a completely understandable plan.
He ran like hell, man!
"Don't you dare!"
"Hahahaha!"
~NRK~
"What's going on?" Kido asked with a sweatdrop. "He's running!"
"It's hilarious," Moe snickered. "Still, she's sneaky. You'd think it'd take her more time to lather his wings but she handled that like a pro."
"Hmph, he's not so hard," Rumi said with a smirk. "But he's gonna get rid of that stuff soon. It's not like he can keep dropping those feathers so much without her noticing."
"Wait, feathers?"
~NRK~
Nezu chuckled as Yamada laughed, Vlad facepalming at one of his 'top students'.
"Keigo, you dumb bird," he grumbled as the two laughed harder.
"Goodness! He's amusing and sneaky," Nezu declared. "He knows how to play a crowd!"
~NRK~
"Hmph, he's pulling her into a false sense of security," Enji observed.
"Well, it's not like he still wants to have his wings covered in bubble gunk," Katsuki said. "He's gotta run and plan."
"Hmph."
Fuyumi giggled a bit while Obito leaned forward.
"Ah, so he's planning something with the feathers he's dropping," he said to the others as they looked carefully as well. "Likely, he'll vibrate, or has vibrated, the bubble ichor off."
"If he can distract her enough," Rei said as Hisashi nodded.
"Kaoruko-kun's not exactly waiting to deploy her own strategies, herself," he said as they noticed that with every bit of distance the two ran, splashes of bubbles covered the arena. "This is going to be a match of whose trick can work best."
~NRK~
"Man, the stage is already, like, super smooth. If she catches Keigo on there if it's fully covered, he's screwed," Yu said as Bocho nodded.
"Kao-chan knows how to balance and slide about. She'd be able to attack any way possible," the Noh girl said.
"But the thing is," Onemu began. "If he gets into the air, that's it. What's she gonna do? Stinkbomb him down?"
"..."
"..."
"... Oh, God, that's exactly what she's gonna do, isn't it?"
~NRK~
Keigo skidded to a halt as Kaoruko did the same, the two wearing matching grins.
No words passed before he flexed his shorter wings and her ears picked up the sound of sharp whistling.
Kaoruko displayed amazing flexibility as she slipped in and out of his feather projectiles' paths, all the while, bubbles slipped out from her skin and slickened them with every dodge.
Keigo flapped off the floor before shooting towards her and Kaoruko grinned.
"Can't fly too high now, huh?"
He smirked as he rotated before slamming his foot into her raised forearm and quickly shooting to the side to dodge her grab.
Keigo looked at the floor with a grimace, bubble fluid was all around and he looked at his planted feathers as he flew by before an ominous sound of fluid-surface sliding reached his ears.
He turned and blocked a sticky, slimy, boot before knocking her back by rushing into her, knocking her sliding back.
"Ack! Rude!" Kaoruko exclaimed as she was sent sliding back before she recovered in an almost impossible way had he not known her. "Comin' at ya!" She grinned, skating across the battlefield with increasing speed.
Keigo prepared as he flew ahead of her. When she began to gain on him, he turned around and flew backward, smirking at Kaoruko as they passed his planted feathers.
Kaoruko blinked as placed his thumb to his forehead and held up his pointer finger. "You smarmy-!" She never got to finish as he grinned wider.
She yelled as the floor around her rumbled before erupting into cracked stone, her bubble fluid, and dust.
"Ah!" Kaoruko covered her eyes but her ears twitched as she heard Keigo coming closer. "No, you don't!"
She did the simplest thing in the world and just… ducked.
Keigo passed overhead with a gasp. "My one weakness!" He cried out dramatically before coming back around. "Doesn't exist!"
As he flew back, he dragged his two long feather swords' tips against the ground, holding his breath as he circled Kaoruko who finally opened her eyes to follow him.
'What is he?' Something was up and she knew she didn't want to be in the middle of it! 'Dammit!'
She began to get out of the crater she'd be attacked by before blinking as several parts of her clothing 'caught' on something?
Kaoruko grinned nervously as Keigo floated above her, swords in hand, before covering her mouth as the smell hit.
"!?"
"Ya know, you really should be careful with that stuff," he said, far enough away to breathe at least a little bit. "Concede or I make sure you suffocate," Keigo offered as Kaoruko looked around.
Something… anything! She kept looking only for more damp feathers to shoot into her area, flaxen but still with enough oomph to throw her body to the floor.
She struggled before shivering at the smell. "I give! I give!" Kaoruko squeaked as Midnight chuckled nervously.
"Gals like us should be more careful!" She announced as cleaning robots came onto the scene. "MATCH OVER! Victor: Keigo Takami! That ends the semi-finals!" Nemuri said with a grin as the screens around the stadium flickered.
The last match was on its way.
Obito Midoriya VS Keigo Takami.
The crowd was hyped.
Keigo chuckled before removing his feathers from his friend's clothes and lifting her up to carry her out of the field of rank.
"Damn, you got underhanded there," Kaoruko said with a sigh.
"Hey now, it's not like I had much of an option," Keigo reassured her as they landed outside of the ring, him landing next to her. "I didn't expect you to tear me down like that," he said nervously as she chuckled a bit. "Before I even knew it… that's not nice."
"It's not supposed to be," she said as she held her head high as cheers came from the crowd. "... Oh, r-right," Kaoruko blushed a bit. "I'll need to get those weighted bands back.
"You'll get them," Nemuri said as she came over with a smile. "The robots'll get it and bring it back to the item-holding booth. We've got you. Also, very daring by the way."
The two blushed. "T-That's not supposed to mean anything, right?" Kaoruko asked in horror as the woman snickered before walking off. "Wait, no, come back!"
Keigo coughed into his fist as the blue girl turned red. "R-Right, I'm not asking," likely one of the wisest things he'd ever done. "..." His face went a brighter red before he facepalmed. "So, where were those-"
Kaoruko stomped out and he groaned.
~NRK~
Obito chuckled as Fuyumi hummed.
"I think something happened," he said with a smirk as she huffed. "Don't be like that, if it wasn't obvious before we know now."
"About what?" Hisashi asked.
"... K-Keigo-kun might," Fuyumi began slowly. "Have a crush… on Kao-chan."
"No friggin' way," Mitsuki cackled like a witch. "That kid?! The one who thinks he's cooler than cool? That one?"
"Y-Yeah."
"Oh!" Rei's eyes shined with excitement as Obito and Fuyumi sweatdropped. "It's always important to watch over them," she declared as Enji's eyebrow shot into his hairline and looked at her and then Fuyumi.
'What is she on about?'
'I don't know.'
Father-daughter communication established within an instant.
"Now, you're fighting him, nii-chan," Izuku said as a 20-minute timer appeared on the screens around the arena. "But you're still hurt," he added with a frown as Shouto nodded.
"Not wrong. Especially since Recovery Girl sapped a good bit of my stamina to bring my arms back to more normalcy," Obito said as he flexed his scarred arms. "But, right now, Keigo's likely going to be cleaning off his feathers if he even can. He'll be down decent flight abilities no matter what. This has officially become a ground fight."
"Wait, what?" Natsuo blinked as Obito smirked shakily, blowing out a small red flame.
"I'm not exactly recovering well. I should probably get more water."
"Gotcha covered," Masaru said as he brought out a rather-empty duffle bag that had some juices and water bottles within. "You'll need all of this."
Obito nodded before drinking four bottles straight, the boy looking relieved as steam exited his mouth.
"That bad, huh?" Enji asked as Obito nodded. "I know that feeling well. Can't imagine what burning your throat must be like, though."
"Not pleasant."
"So, what's the plan?" Mitsuki asked him and Obito took a long concentrating sigh.
"In this situation… there is none," Obito said simply and without worry as they raised some confused brows. "Keigo-kun and I… we're not on an even playing field. Trickey will be involved, potshots, projectiles, and lots of pain… but we're on the even footing from here on out. This is gonna be a regular old slugfest."
"... I'm liking where this is going," Hisashi said as the men nodded, much to the older females' disbelief.
Well, all of them save for Mitsuki who grinned viciously.
"I definitely like where this is going."

They hopped down into the arena, Nemuri humming a pleasant tune as she waited in the arena's referee box.
Obito tied his top around his waist while Keigo discarded his altogether.
Oh? She raised her brows as the two hopped into the arena, moving to stand several meters apart with her in the middle.
"... heh, I guess to everyone, this is truly the finals," Midnight said as the crowd murmured in excitement. "We've had a FUN time here in the Freshmen bracket! AIN'T THAT RIGHT?!"
The stadium erupted into cheers once more as the two boys smirked at one another.
Keigo rolled his shoulders, one arm reaching around and rubbing his left shoulder while Obito tapped his ninja sandals against the floor.
'It's time,' the two thought in unison as Nemuri grinned.
"We can all tell these men are ready for their fight! So no more stalling!" She brought her arm up. "Final match! Obito Midoriya vs Keigo Takami! FIGHT!"
A harsh crack rang out as Keigo winced, his own kick canceling out Obito's but with far more in the raven-haired boy's favor than his own.
Still!
He pushed Obito back before lunging at him, a feather coming over his shoulder in a slash.
Obito stepped back, rotated to the side of the attack, and slammed his foot into Keigo's chin.
'Too light!' The winged boy flipped back with no issue, landing in a crouch before wielding another feather sword.
Obito spat out a series of small fireballs that Keigo lunged at, and through, each fireball dispersed with a slice.
Obito nodded before dashing at him as Keigo jumped back with his sword slicing upward, turning up dust and causing Obito to dodge to the side.
He lunged once again before kicking Keigo's downward-swinging sword and followed up with an ax-kick that Keigo blocked with his other sword.
The space beneath his feet crumbled before the bird boy tilted his block to the side, Obito's leg sliding off, and swung at his chest.
Blood spilled before Obito grabbed his outstretched arm.
His left leg cracked against Keigo's cheek before the other followed and slammed into his forehead, Obito letting go of his arm.
Keigo grimaced before recovering from his uncontrolled tumble, rubbing his cheek as he spat some blood out of his mouth.
Obito thumbed his blood off his chest, rubbing it between his fingers.
"Not bad," both of them said before lunging at one another once more.
A feathered sword-having arm was blocked by a knee before Keigo's hand snapped out and grabbed Obito's leg.
He pulled and stepped in, sword coming around to the other boy's chest before Obito's hand grabbed Keigo's offending limb.
They struggled before Obito's free hand jabbed at the other boy's forehead, causing him to stumble before he jumped back, three of his feathers shooting off his back and stopping Obito from giving chase.
Flipping back, Obito skidded to a halt before shooting out a stream of fire and forming the Dog handsign.
Keigo dodged to the side before continuing to slip in and out of an arcing stream of flames. 'This is still possible, huh?' His eyes narrowed before he kicked off the floor and flapped his mighty wings once, going high into the sky. 'My wings are still kind of moist.'
He couldn't fully dry them in the time he'd had. Asking Obito to help dry them would make him feel kind of scummy.
So, he'd come in with what he could. The fact that he could still fly helped but he was working double time.
He flew about as that stream gave chase, gold eyes looking down into the arena to see blazing red orbs follow his every move.
'That cut didn't bother you at all, did it?' Keigo smirked as he dodged about before flying towards Obito. 'Let's go!'
The former Uchiha formed the Dragon seal and Keigo's eyes widened as the stream of fire behind him burst into several laser-thin streams and shot out on all sides… save for in front of him.
Obito's eyes narrowed as he released his handsign and crouched.
'He locked me in!' Still, he had some stuff to work with but the heat was blazing, his throat began to feel dry.
Three feathers shot off his wings and Keigo kept them in front of him as he and Obito were one meter apart.
He swung with one of his feather swords and the reborn-Midoriya's form grew… hazy?
Keigo's eyes widened as he blinked, confused before a kick to his sternum sent him flying backward, his only saving grace being that the streams of flames were gone.
Still, as he tumbled before recovering with a hiss, he looked confused as Obito smirked, form hazy.
"The hell was that?" The bird boy asked as the Midoriya grinned.
"Don't you know, Fuyumi's ice is still outside the ring a bit," Obito said before Keigo looked confused. "And the air is far colder, Keigo-kun."
Keigo's eyes widened.
~NRK~
"A-A mirage?" Fuyumi gaped as Inko blinked before the fathers of children nodded.
"Oh," Hisashi nodded as the small bits of ice that had been outside of the ring melted. "That's right, the air got VERY COLD During your match, Fuyumi-kun. With how things went, the only things cleaned were the arena proper twice for the ice, burns, bubble fluid, and cracks. They wouldn't have focused on warming the area. That's not seen as much of a hazard."
"It's true," Enji said. "Unless it was blistering hot they wouldn't care and the same for vice-versa. Especially since it's a sunny day, they probably didn't think it'd be an issue."
"So, they thought it'd be a non-issue and that became a part of Obito-kun's plan," Masaru chuckled. "Honestly, nobody could have planned for that."
"Still, Obito-kun already took that cut from the beginning," Rei winced as the mark was on display, Fuyumi grunting as she nodded in determination. "F-Fuyumi?"
"M-Mom, it's… we're probably going to get hurt," Fuyumi said softly as Rei looked down and Mitsuki and Inko nodded. "I-Inko-san!?"
"Well… I've come to terms with it a long time ago, you know?" Inko wore a sad smile that Mitsuki nodded sagely at. "Izu-Izu wants to be a hero. He'll have all the training his brother will give him but it's going to be hard. I can't stop imagining a ton of scenarios, it's in our natures as mothers to do that."
"Yup," Mitsuki said as Katsuki raised a brow at her before she snorted and ruffled his hair. "Despite how powerful his quirk might be, hell despite how smart my kid can be, that doesn't me I don't worry."
"H-Huh?" Katsuki looked shocked as his mother chuckled while his father smiled.
"Heroism, on principle, isn't safe, Katsuki," Masaru said as Enji nodded. "There are so many dangers out there, it's hard not to think of a villain who might know their way around your quirk and then my bad ideas spring to mind," the man looked nervous as Katsuki frowned.
"You need to stop worrying!" The boy said as both his parents smirked. "I've got a super quirk from both of yas. I can't lose," Katsuki said with determination as Izuku grinned and Shouto blinked before smiling, too.
"We're in it together," they both said as the blonde grinned wider.
"Yea! With my extras, I ain't got nothin' to worry about."
"E-Extras?!"
"... I think they're right," Natsuo said with a nod. "Besides, no matter what, d-dad's around. Obito-nii, all their friends, and even other heroes!" He declared as Rei smiled softly. "A-And I don't want to be a hero… b-but I'm here, too!"
"Hm, hm, hm, I know, Natsu-kun," Rei sighed. "Being a mother is a lot more worrying than I expected."
Inko and Mitsuki giggled. "Of course, it is."
Well, her fellow women weren't exactly wrong.
Fuyumi grinned in her seat.
This is the type of life she'd fight to protect.

Keigo's eyes narrowed and feathers upon feathers darted about Obito's location before another mental command had them all vibrating and slamming down on where he was.
The space ruptured and the bird boy didn't hesitate, jumping back to gain more distance.
Then a line of red fire shot out from the right of him!?
Keigo hissed as the streak of flames scored across his left arm. 'D-Dammit! When did he get there?!' Was he able to use that movement technique again?
When he landed, Keigo grunted as he flexed his left arm before wincing as it trembled once his hand clenched.
"Going for my dominant arm, huh?" He asked the approaching set of footsteps, looking up to see Obito coming to stand a few meters away.
Powerful red flames coiled around his feet as his left eye was closed.
"... Oh," something finally clicked for Keigo, something big. "... I never understood. I thought it was weird, at first. Of course, mutations are uncommon but not impossible. So, I did think it was two quirks… but that's not the case, is it?" He chuckled as Obito smirked, one Sharingan eye still open. "Hmph. So, I'm curious. Which power are you currently without? Or is that a dumb question?"
~NRK~
"?" Yamada blinked as Vlad frowned, eyebrows raised. "What's he talking about? I mean, sure, the kid's probably tuckered out some fierce."
"... no, I finally get it," Nezu said as Vlad rubbed the back of his head. "We always assumed he had quirks but that's wrong. The right way of looking at it is that his eyes are part of the second level despite him being able to activate them on their own without white flames!" The teacher froze. "Exactly. I think… it's not that Obito-kun's quirk is two but his has already evolved before."
~NRK~
"... The Quirk Singularity and Evolution Theory," Nagant realized in shock as All Might's eyes widened along with Kamui Wood's. "I'd never really given it thought before but this is the first time I'm seeing it in person. I never considered that his quirk wasn't its base but it'd already improved beyond its original level."
"I see. I've met a few people like him in America," the No.1 said. "Honestly, America has quite a few heroes whose quirks evolved, already. Japan's not got as many."
"So, wait, his eyes control different parts of his quirk?" Kamui Woods asked, surprised but awed. "That's fascinating. I didn't think quirks could come like that."
"Yes, it's honestly something I bet a lot of scientists would enjoy monitoring, I bet. A quirk that's evolved in such a way that its additional powers are held in different body parts," it was quite shocking.
"Still, that also means Obito-kun can be without part of his power if he stresses them too much. That's quite the drawback," Nagant knew that much.
A quirk whose evolved functions could be stopped, outright, wasn't normal, much less safe.
~NRK~
Obito hummed. "It's a dumb question if you're wondering," he said with a bigger smirk. "The power in my left eye allows me to alter the strength and heat of my flames," Obito explained. "The left allows for my more powerful telekinetic abilities. So, you can say, my parents' quirks reside in these eyes."
"I'm honored," Keigo said as he brandished one of his feathers, the rest of his loose ones coming to float around Obito in a rotating fashion. "But, now, you're without your most powerful tool. That eye isn't feeling so hot, is it?"
Obito chuckled as his left eye opened to reveal the normal black orb beneath.
"You're right, it's not," the former shinobi said before breathing slowly. "But, you're underestimating both my normal flames and my eyes," Obito said as his Sharingan's tomoe spun, confusing Keigo. "How about I show you the true potential of my Sharingan?" The eye blazed a bit as Obito closed his left one once more.
Keigo felt some sweat fall down his cheek. "Do not tell me you have another move for this situation."
"There are no new moves, no new information, no anything of that sort, Keigo-kun," Obito said with a chuckle. "You know everything my eyes can do but you don't understand how well I know how to use it."
Obito took a single step and Keigo's feathers vibrated.
The area around him ruptured, exploding into a cloud of smoke that trailed up for a bit before vanishing to reveal… Keigo's eyes widened.
Obito stood ahead, a bit to the side, and slightly back left from where he'd originally been.
And that sole bit of earth was all that was untouched beneath his feet.
"What?" Keigo was confused. 'No new information, no new techniques,' nothing but the eyes' original powers without his quirk?
What did he… "There's no way."
"But, of course, there is," Obito said with a small grin. "And this single eye's power is going to defeat you."
Well, slap his ass and call him 'Sally', Keigo didn't like this.
His feathers from before were now useless, the now frayed-looking bits of his plumage resting against the floor lifelessly with Obito's UA sports top next to them.
"Oh, right, that telekinetic connection is broken, right?"
"?!" Keigo's eyes widened as Obito's mouth set into a smirk. "W-W-Wait, you can-"
"Even see that? Yes."
Oh, that wasn't good at all.
Obito lunged at him and Keigo grunted before meeting him in the middle, sword slashing at him.
Crimson orbs spun before a knee found Keigo's stomach, the bird boy coughing out blood and spit before Obito grabbed his offending arm.
He pushed down on it, climbed up Keigo's shoulder, and then locked his legs around Keigo's head.
'Fuck-!' They spun before Obito brought his ass to the floor. "Kaugh!"
~NRK~
"Hot damn!" Rumi gasped in awe at the move that'd just taken place. "I need that."
"Yeah, ouch," Kido shivered as Obito stood over Keigo before bringing his flaming foot down, the bird boy barely rolling away as the ground uplifted around Midoriya's limb. "Geez! Don't kill him!"
"Y-Yeah, uh, I don't think they care," Moe said as Keigo tried to slice Obito's freaking legs off. "Y-Yikes, like, I know these fights are always dangerous. I almost fried the girl I fought last year," she winced as Kido groaned. "But isn't this clearly going too far?"
"Is it?" Rumi asked her and Moe sighed. "You do realize that if I get serious about kicking any of you in the arm, that's it, right? It's not right to say any of us have gone too far. You both know that. Right, White Choke Kido?"
Kido blushed before facepalming as he crossed his arms. "D-Dammit! Don't remind me of that!"
"... Right, I'd forgotten," Moe said as Kido blushed more. "... you're better now, dude, it's fine."
"I'm carrying that name with me for the rest of my life, aren't I?"
"Yep."
~NRK~
Keigo grimaced as his sword blocked Obito's burning foot before he knocked it aside and swung back towards his chest only for Obito to dodge back with ease, landing a bit away in a crouch.
"Your skills really are better than I ever expected," Obito said with a smile as Keigo grinned back at him.
"Are you one to talk? Ever since your left eye closed, it's like you're a whole other person!" Keigo was sure of that. "Is this like a loss of a limb?"
Obito smiled as he stood up.
Keigo stepped back and blocked Obito's kick with the flat side of his feather weapon before swiping at his opponent's head with his harmed arm.
Obito spun low before kicking up only for his attack to be dodged by Keigo strafing around him.
They ran through several more exchanges before Obito blocked Keigo's harmed-arm swing with his right hand before grabbing the other boy's sword arm's wrist with his other.
They power-struggled, mostly in his favor, before Obito smirked at Keigo who blinked, confused.
"I'll be borrowing this," he said.
And Keigo blinked as their clasped-together hands… Oh, God.
They flipped through handsigns?!
~NRK~
Fuyumi's eyes widened along with the others' as the crowd balked at what Obito had just done.
When the boy finished three of them, they all collectively winced as he slammed his right foot, followed by his left, into Keigo's chin before jumping back.
"Katon: Goukyaku no Jutsu!"
A large fireball of red fire blazed towards the stunned Keigo who barely rolled to the side but ended up on his hands and knees, clearly shaken.
"Y-You can do that?" Fuyumi gaped before blushing as Obito's head turned in her direction with a smirk before he focused on Keigo, walking towards his classmate. "H-He's so mean!"
"Hm, hm, hm, Obi-kun is teaching even now," Inko smiled as the four young boys in their midst's eyes shined with shock, awe, and inspiration.
"That was so cool!" They said collectively as Hisashi grinned.
"Yes, it was very sick," he said as Enji snorted.
"... It was impressive," the hero caved a bit. "Using his own predetermined skillset to force the opponent into his pace, that's something very precise."
"It is," Rei said in some awe, herself. "I didn't think that was possible but, as we learned, those signs don't do something literally. They're a medium."
"Exactly."
~NRK~
"Hooo!" Yu choked at how awesome that'd been. "Yea! Make that boy easier to beat in the loser games!"
"Well, someone remembered that," Kaoruko said with a nervous chuckle as she and the other flinched at the dual kicks that slammed into Keigo's chin. "Yikes!"
"They aren't playing!" Umi said as she paled at the idea of being hit like that. "I-I don't think Keigo should even be conscious right now!"
He barely looked like it as he sloppily dodged that fireball.
"H-He's not even standing!" Bocho said as Onemu nodded.
"Umi was right, Keigo's likely one inch away from being knocked out," the horned girl said as her eyes narrowed on Obito's slow walk. "Time to finish this."
~NRK~
Rumi whistled. "That looked devastating," she said as Kido nodded.
"That kid honestly shouldn't be awake right now," he said. "Those landed square on his chin. He can't recover from that."
And it showed. "Yeah, no, this is over," Moe said. "Unless he can break out some last-minute ultra-skill he's as good as dead."
"... Nah, it's over," Rumi said with a chuckle and grin. "He's prepared for it."
Her classmates looked confused.
~NRK~
"OH MY GOODNESS!" All Might laughed heartily as the others whistled or cheered. "That was magnificent!"
"That kid's smarts are through the roof," Kamui Woods said in surprise. "It's like he's truly exploited every part of his quirk."
Nagant was sure he had. 'He's a monster in many facets,' she'd realized.
And yet she was truly left wondering. Where did such a young genius come from? The last time someone was like this was… All Might, she thinks.
"Still, Keigo-shounen may have one last trick up his sleeve," the Number One Hero said.
~NRK~
"Hmm," Nezu smiled as things were coming to a rather fierce close. "Obito-kun's flexibility in body and mind is nothing short of breath-taking. That's the type of hero who leaves this school with high chances of being in the rankings."
"Hm, hm, you're not wrong," Vlad said. "Keigo's also shown a manner of thinking that can't be understated. His way of using his feathers is creative and devastating. I didn't know he could vibrate them like that and to great effect!"
"These kids are pretty creative," Yamada said. "They all seem to have expanded on their quirks in more ways than most students their age and year do. Likely, they're some of the most productive Freshmen UA's ever seen."
Nezu nodded with a smile as things came to a quick-draw ending.
~NRK~
Dabi scoffed even as he did his best to stamp down how impressed he was.
'So, we've seen everything he can do, right?' He thought. 'Where does that leave me?'
… The actual truth made him want to choke someone.
Okay, so maybe he might need to approach this more intelligently as much as that made him want to just screw the idea and just go in guns a-blazin'.
'If that damn Nomu is going to be prepped for him, that means he'll be either completely cornered or too busy to handle another attack, right?' If that ended up being the case, Dabi might be able to capitalize on it. '... What if he goes to ENDEAVOR'S agency?'
He froze as his hands clenched into furiously shaking fists.
That'd be the worst-case scenario.
~NRK~
Obito looked down at the shaky-looking Keigo who grinned nervously.
The former shinobi's eyes narrowed as he and Keigo locked gazes.
A series of feathers shot out from the floor towards the ninja and Keigo grinned-
Flaming teeth rested on a slightly tan-skinned neck whose owner froze, his feathers doing the same.
Keigo's eyes widened and his head mechanically turned around to see a flaming wolf, with Obito's sports top around its neck, gently clamping its jaws around his neck.
"... I surrender," the bird boy said after some thought, arms raised by his head as the wolf receded. "Freaking hell, when?"
"Around the same time you planted those feathers," Obito said with a smirk as he held out a hand.
Keigo sighed shakily before allowing Obito to help him up, the other boy throwing his arm over his shoulder as Midnight announced the end of the match.
"And we've come to the end of the Freshman ROUNDS!" The woman declared as the crowds cheered. "The winner! Our reigning champion! He's kept his word and established his food chain! OBITO MIDORIYA!"
The screens flickered before showing Obito's face and his 'accomplishments' upon them. Party poppers, cheers, whistles, and all forms of congratulations ringing out.
Obito snorted as Keigo grinned, the former helping the latter walk off the field and to one of the entryways as their friends, family, senpai, and more chased them on the field.
"Ya did it, nii-chan!" Izuku said as Obito chuckled.
"That I did."

So, we finally hit the finale of the UA Sports Festival and it didn't end in a way no one expected but it did show off our core cast.
Fuyumi's efforts aren't small nor are they unnoticed. She's grown leaps and bounds compared to the Fuyumi from 2 months ago. She's not fully confident yet, she's not even that sure of all her abilities, but she'll be damned if Obito's words don't instill some form of happiness within her.
Next, Kaoruko brings out her smarts, tactics, and training as she goes all-in on disabling Keigo in whatever way she can despite her loss. A lot of this fic is going to show how even a quirk like hers can be made versatile.
Note: Ya know, one day I'll actually read JoJos. I haven't finished any seasons/manga but I know I enjoy DiU as my favorite just from art style alone.
Finally, Keigo. Our little PHSC agent is growing and as surprised as Obito by these girls. They're not just students, they're powerful allies and he's learning that his friend group really is one he meshes with and might have a crush within.
Finally, we have a hint of the title of this fic within. Eight chapters and over 100k words later, we've gotten a hint. I feel so proud.
Now, from here on out, we'll likely be getting into small internship arcs with Obito and Fuyumi as the foci. For one, Obito's gonna be working with Aizawa and Fuyumi with her father, there are bound to be interesting stories there.
And following THAT… it'll be time for the Vigilantes Storyline though I'm unsure how far in I want to start Obito and Aizawa's entry into it. We'll see.
Now, let's get into some melancholy family time.

~Omake: Is That… Dad? Ft. Alt-Dim!Enji and his canon family, including his canon!self~
Rei stared at him as he sat in her room.
Learning about her young grandson had kind of brought more light into her life, for the time being, so when returned but lacking her husband, she could only smile weakly as he sighed dejectedly.
Following that, he'd sat down on one of the chairs in her room and just… waited.
It was odd, for her, to see an Enji who was so… patient when it came to life outside of his heroism.
What the hell kind of change had been made from where he was from that he was like this? Why had such a change not taken place in her own time?
"... You're not my husband, right?" She asked as Tobi sat in her lap. "... I don't know how to deal with this."
"I'm your husband from a different place," explained. "I… Don't want to understand how things got like this… but I, unfortunately, do."
She looked confused.
"... In my… where I'm from, there was a young man by the name of Obito Uchiha or, really, he wasn't 'Uchiha' back then but Obito Midoriya," he explained as her eyes widened and he nodded. "Yes, he's related to that Izuku boy from the recent UA Festival. He was his older sibling."
"R-Really?" Rei didn't expect that. "But, then, how'd one boy change… everything?"
smirked and she raised a brow. "Let me tell you, Rei. One person can change a lot."
"Yeah, dad's, like, super-strong!" Tobi explained and Rei looked at him in slight disbelief. "... Gram-gram?"
"I-I'd forgotten for a moment, right," she was holding her grandchild from another dimension. "O-Ohh…"
"It's likely surprising. You and my Rei had about the same reaction… well, one of you essentially took the boy for an entire week, basically," Rei blushed. "Hm, hm, hm, yes, you'd be surprised by how absorbed by Tobi you were."
"R-Right," Rei felt a huge wave of embarrassment hit. "... I really didn't let go, did I?" She sighed as she adjusted one of Tobi's long bangs.
"No. You loved him without a doubt."
"Yeah… I know," Rei smiled softly. "How did this 'Obito-kun' do this?"
"From what Fuyumi told me. He was simply a boy she feared," Rei looked confused and nodded. "Because of me, because of my flames, because of what I'd done to Touya."
Rei froze, eyes wide before she bit her lip.
"Y-You didn't…"
"Rei, as much as I want to believe that, as much as it'd have helped me back then… I was the main cause of his situation," grimaced as he ran a hand through his hair. "I… I was so focused on my ambition that, in the end, I almost threw away everything I held dear to me," she looked down. "... You may not believe this. I don't know everything but you being here strained something that could likely never be fixed… but he loves. No matter how he acts, how blusters, how he thinks. Enji Todoroki loves you, he found his future with you because you were the ideal to him. A traditional man with ambition is a wicked mix, let me tell you."
"W-What?" Rei looked at him, confused. "I-I don't…" She looked at something by her window.
Something small, single, and in a white vase.
"... Oh," perked up as he saw it. "... It was always your favorite flower," she nodded, smiling sadly. "I'd always found them odd, to be honest. Flowers never were a thing I truly understood until Touya's situation but you… you loved them in ways I never understood," he explained as she hummed. "It was likely one of the first things that enraptured me."
She blushed bright red, head falling further in embarrassment, as Tobi snickered behind his hands.
"Hmph," smirked. "We got off-track. Fuyumi feared Obito but, one day, they helped one another for a small present for their siblings," he explained and Rei looked at him. "A trio of small All Might statues. The only ones in the world."
He told her the tales of her other dimension daughter and her husband-to-be.
Rei gaped, gasped, looked on in awe, and giggled as recounted their first UA Sports Festival.
"Fuyumi-chan… she really cared about him," Rei noted with a smile. "Chances are high, she started liking him sometime before that day."
"She said it was around that time," nodded, huffing. "Honestly, she even kissed the boy on the cheek, Rei! How do you keep a normal relationship after that?"
Rei's eyes shone in wonder. "R-Really?!"
"Yes. You actually got that answer out of her… I believe sometime around when they were engaged," the woman giggled a bit. "Honestly, that day was likely the loudest I've ever had."
"L-Loudest?"
"You would not believe the types of people who came to their wedding."
~NRK~
Enji sat in that private room, eyes on the ceiling. 'It's all for nothing?' The idea had been running around in his brain for the past thirty minutes.
Was… was he really going to be given the Number 1 spot? For doing nothing but EXISTING AS THE NUMBER TWO?!
His fingers gripped his chair's armrest tightly. 'And then there's… that information.'
If… i-if that turned out to be true… What would he do?
Enji found his mind clouded, full of confusion, worrying, and nervousness that he'd not felt for some time.
If he found out that Touya was a villain… What would he do? What could he do?
'If he's right… T-Touya's not…' Dead, he's not DEAD. 'Why didn't you return?' Why would he?
With a father like himself, would he even care?
"..." He stayed like that for another thirty minutes before finding his otherworld self standing at the door.
"Have you finally come to a decision?" asked as he held his grandson in his arms, Rei right behind him.
The woman stared at the deeply-disturbed man that was her husband… Enji Todoroki.
The man looked pale like he'd seen a ghost. Like he'd be facing one soon.
"..." She bit her lip before stepping in and sitting down in the chair across from him. "... Enji?"
"..." had to have said something big because Rei didn't see a register of her husband's mind in his eyes.
Blue eyes simply looked through her, her seat, the mental home, all of it towards something she didn't know about.
What had been told to him?
"... I-I'll see what I can do," Rei said to who sighed.
"I'm sure I'll visit again. For now, we have to figure out what to do," he said as he looked at Tobi. "You can't conjure your father's greatest flames, right?"
"Mmmm," the boy puffed out his cheeks before spitting out a small black thing that didn't hold. "... N-No."
"We'll work on it," said with a nod before looking at the two Todorokis. "... You can still make a change, Enji Todoroki. Whether or not you'll be accepted isn't what you should focus on. Only focus on what you can do for the better."
He left the two after that, the two parents looking down in thought.
~NRK~
As he walked down the sidewalk, ignoring the cameras from phones and actual cameras alike, sighed as he ran a hand through his hair, Tobi looking at him concerned.
"You alright, gramps?" He asked and his grandfather ruffled his hair in return.
"I am. I didn't expect such a day to turn out this way, you know that," said as they kept walking. "We'll be meeting your grown-up uncle, I feel you should be preparing for that."
"I mean, Shou-ojii is kind of caught up with trying to be too cool."
"Ah, yes, that makes sense."
Then there was a car that screeched to a halt beside them, confusing both Todorokis before their eyes widened at who stepped out.
Fuyumi Todoroki and Natsuo Todoroki choked as they left their Uber.
"..."
"..."
"... Fuyumi, Natsu, it's been… well, for me, it's been a day or so after I got back from vacation," said as Fuyumi gaped at him while Natsuo looked ready to faint. "...?"
They looked completely shocked, startled, and with no idea of what to do.
"... I'm going to go and see Shouto, you two can come along if you want."
"... T-This is mom but not mom, right?" Tobi asked and Fuyumi choked back into the present.
"W-What?" She looked at the small boy with familiar blue eyes. "Y-You're…" W-Was she really speaking to her… son from another dimension?!
Natsuo looked at the man before them in disbelief, horror, and utterly jealousy that threatened to boil over.
And he noticed. "... You've gone through a lot," said, a hand on Natsuo's shoulder. "Too much. Far too much."
The young man looked ready to attack and cry all in the same breath before pat his shoulder.
"I'm sure you especially want some privacy. I can feel your emotions from here."

Shouto paced in their shared room, eyes on the TV, the clock, his phone, anything to tell him when… w-when his other father would be here.
This had officially gotten weirder and yet more heartbreaking than he ever expected.
"Shouto-kun…" Izuku looked down in thought. "W-Well, isn't this a good thing? It seems more and more like this man's not like normal Endeavor. He seems far more mellow and understanding, it seems."
"Hmm, this Endeavor seems… oddly grandfather-like," Tenya said, curious as Shouto stopped and turned to look at him. "Well, is it that far off the mark seeing as he… well, has his grandson within his arms."
"... I'm uncle," Shouto seemed to realize for the third time that evening.
"Please don't faint again," they'd dealt with that enough for the past hour.
"R-Right," Shouto breathed in and out slowly. "I think I-"
There was a knock on the door.
He froze and jumped into his bed before covering up in his covers.
Izuku chuckled nervously while Tenya's eyebrow twitched.
"Come in," the glasses-wearing boy said to the entryway as four figures appeared in it. "Welcome… Future-Enji-san."
"Hmm, Tenya from the Iida family, correct?" asked as Tenya smiled with a nod. "Even from where we're from, you and Shouto entered in the same year."
"It's been a pleasure knowing him."
"S-Shouto?" Fuyumi walked over and sat by her little brother's bed as Natsuo stood by the entrance, utterly baffled. "I-I'd heard you were involved but I didn't think you were in the hospital!"
"..." Shouto sat up out of his covers, much to the confusion of and Fuyumi. "I… It was important to not let our true involvement be known."
"Wait what?"
"Because it'll look more like heroes going off to handle personal business," explained as Izuku nodded.
"We were told that us dealing with Stain might bring some… worrying ideas into the minds of other hero interns," the moss head said. "E-Especially since we did this… without anyone knowing," Izuku admitted in embarrassment.
"I should be the one taking the blame for that," Tenya revealed as Fuyumi frowned. "I…"
"Oh, right," frowned. "Tensei Iida was almost permanently harmed by him."
"...?!" Tenya's eyes widened. "A-Almost?!"
"Yes… oh," winced as Tenya grimaced before nodding.
"B-But you said almost, yes? What happened?"
"... Fuyumi was the one who'd been patrolling in that area with Keigo," explained as Fuyumi and Natsuo turned to look at him, completely confused. "Ah, you probably didn't see the entirety of the news. Fuyumi from where we came from is a hero."
Natsuo choked as Fuyumi's form trembled.
"What?!" She squeaked.
"R-Right, Fuyumi-san is a hero from your dimension," Izuku noted. "W-What kind of hero did she become?" He asked, more curious than ever.
"She and some of her classmates made a hero team," explained as the entire room blinked. "Yes. They're an all-purpose hero team. Yu Takeyama and Bocho Shinpi as the rescue heroes alongside battle heroes. Kaoruko Awata, Umi Hire, Keigo Takami, and Obito Midoriya," he looked at Izuku whose mouth dropped. "Are the investigators with Keigo, Obito, and Fuyumi as the biggest fighters of their team. They've made quite the name for themselves ever since they left UA three or so years ago."
"W-W-Wait! What?! Obito Midoriya?!" Izuku spazzed out in awe. "I have an older brother?!"
"I suppose that cinches his existence in this dimension," said as Izuku winced. "Yes, he was your older brother. He went to the same middle school that Fuyumi did."
"S-So… did he have a quirk?"
"He had a mutation mix of your mother and father's quirks," the boy looked pleased. "Your own quirk wasn't exactly expected, either. Question, the you from where we're from couldn't be sure, is your quirk a simple mutation of Inko's psychic powers but on your muscles?"
"Oh," Shouto perked up. "T-That explains his quirk."
"H-Huh?!" Oh, crap, had that been what the other him came up with?! "... W-Wait! W-We had the same quirk?"
"Yes. It manifested around when you were in your time in middle school," said as Izuku's eyes widened.
'Did… did I meet All Might still?' That was amazing but it left him confused.
"I-I guess I was really into my notes about heroes, too, huh?"
"Hmm? Well, yes, but you were also training perfectly for that day," Izuku's head lifted as the man spoke. "Your sibling has been training you for years to take the UA Exams before your quirk manifested."
Green eyes widened in awe and emotion as he grinned shakily.
"I-I guess having a big brother really is kind of c-cool."
"It is," Tenya said with a smile as Shouto nodded, causing Natsuo to blush.
"G-Geez," the young man said as he went over and sat down on Shouto's other bed seat. "... This entire situation doesn't make sense to me."
"I'm not much better either," Fuyumi said softly as Shouto nodded.
Enji found a chair by the entrance and nodded as he placed Tobi on the floor.
The boy took slow, steady, steps towards Shouto's bed before holding onto it as he looked at his not-mom.
Fuyumi just stared at the small child before swallowing and touching his hair as he grinned, showing a not-full set of teeth.
She melted and lifted him up and into her lap.
"You're not 'mom' mom, right?"
"I'm not," Fuyumi admitted with a sigh as she observed him. "... Y-Your dad," she blushed. "Oh goodness… i-is he someone with black hair?"
"Well, he said he used to," the boy explained as Izuku blinked.
"U-Um, my dad has black hair," the Midoriya said. "S-So… Tobi-kun likely got it from our side of the family," this was so WEIRD.
"Obito used to actually have black hair," said. "... Due to an event, he doesn't anymore."
"Wait, what?" Tenya blinked. "I don't… was he harmed?"
The man snorted. "It was a self-inflicted 'wound'," he twitched his fingers as Natsuo blinked.
"How… how does a wound translate to losing his hair?" The young man said after some thought.
"Dad's still got all his hair," Tobi explained as Shouto blinked. "It's just white now."
"Huh?" The two-toned-haired Todoroki balked. "Wait, what do you mean-?"
There was a distortion in the air in the room and the group blinked while blinked before his eyes widened and he chuckled.
"Well, it didn't take them that long."
As soon as the distortion dispersed, it left two individuals in its place.
One of them looked around with her hood up before holding her hand to her chest in relief.
"Oh, thank God, you're both alright," her voice was… tougher than everyone-in-the-know expected as she then saw Fuyumi. "...?! H-Huh?!"
The man at her side hummed as his slightly long, spiky, white hair shifted as he saw his son.
"... I guess this is the only result of space-time techniques slamming into one another," he said as looked at his father-in-law. "So, uh, Enji… what's going on?"
The group gaped at the two as the woman lowered her hood in shock and they looked more shocked!
Her hair was certainly longer than this dimension's Fuyumi and the red in her hair was a bit darker and more uniform down the back of her head.
Blue looked around in shock without glasses before looking at Obito in disbelief.
"Oh, I'm sure we're currently in another dimension," he said simply with a shrug.
His partner's eyebrow began to twitch, the scar on her chin, coming up from her neck, emphasized as she did.
"W-What!?"
"Mom!" Tobi cheered as sighed.
"I think we need an actual explana… why is Shou-kun in a medical bed?!"
Shouto stared at the woman in front of him in total confusion.
Why did this Fuyumi feel so DIFFERENT compared to their own?
The hero Fuyumi… the feeling of power coming off her made his body feel… i-inadequate.
'What's wrong with me?' Shouto was now very embarrassed for some reason.
