Australia? Hanging Rock? Been there, done that, seen the rock wallaby, eaten the picnic. And seen the movie about the other picnic where three girls went missing. Here's something – this challenge starts in New South Wales, since Chris mentions taking the emus into the Blue Mountains, which border Sydney. But Hanging Rock, where they end up, is actually in Victoria, so they cross states. Now, a fun fact about Australia…okay. Did you know that calling koalas "koala bears" is actually a misnomer? Koalas look a little like bear cubs, which is why they got that name, but they're actually marsupials. And another thing – they're usually shy, but they can get aggressive – in 2014, a South Australian woman was bitten by a koala while she was trying to get it to stop attacking her dogs, and she needed stitches. I'm pretty glad the koala I held at age seven did nothing but cling to me.

The tension on Team Amazon eased quite a bit after that talk between Duncan and Gwen happened. Sierra confided in me that she was disappointed. "Not that I wanted Duncney to break up," she said, "But the Gwuncan fanbase will be disappointed."

I couldn't help blinking at her names. "Do you have ship names for these real people?"

"They're on TV!" Sierra pointed out. "And I'm their number-one fan! I have names for all the couples. You know, Gwent, Gidgette, Leharold, Ozzy…" she giggled suddenly. "I've already decided on a ship name for Cody when he and I start dating. We'll be Coderra!"

I didn't tell Sierra that this was probably not going to happen. I was pretty sure she wouldn't have listened if I had. I just smiled politely and went to talk to the other girls.

The flight was a long one. At least eight hours long. I mean. I was desperate to figure out where we were going, but I wasn't hosting, so Chris wouldn't tell me where we were going. I wasn't sure which way we were going, either. We could have gone north and then passed the north pole to go south and be looping around to eastern Russia for all I knew. Or headed to South America, or across Asia.

As it was, we probably did cross Asia or fly east from South America, but didn't stop in either continent. Instead, we landed in a vast desert, which felt like stepping into a hot tub. Okay, there were mountains in the distance.

"G'day, mate, and welcome to Australia!" Chris said in an absolutely terrible Australian accent.

I exchanged a smile with Bridgette. She'd said something about coming here. Not that we were seeing any beaches. The first challenge was to apparently grab an emu with reins and ride it all the way from here into the Blue Mountains, crossing states completely and ending up at Hanging Rock. We were in New South Wales at that moment, near Sydney, and Hanging Rock was in Victoria, not far from Melbourne (I got the information out of Chef's atlas in the cockpit while we were waiting for everyone to show up.

It took literally two days for everyone to get to Hanging Rock, but at least Chris let me give everyone enough water to survive on. Hanging Rock itself was pretty shady and green before you got to the top.

Alejandro arrived first, with Heather and Bridgette not too far behind. Cody also arrived safely early on.

Duncan actually arrived in the pouch of a cross-looking kangaroo, who punched him and then bounced off. Those things looked as if they really had springs under their feet.

Gwen arrived next, giving Duncan a sympathetic look from his bruises, messed up hair and mucus-covered shorts.

Sierra and Tyler arrived almost at the same time, both getting abused by their emus.

"Did you see any other creatures?" I whispered to Bridgette.

"A wallaby…or a kangaroo, I think." she whispered back. "No snakes. I looked for koalas, too, but didn't see any."

Team Amazon was allowed to move on to the next part of the challenge, but Team Chris had to wait for Owen to arrive.

"Where is that butter donkey?" Alejandro complained out loud.

I raised an eyebrow, trying to figure out exactly what that meant. I figured out "butter" had to be a reference to Owen's weight, since butter was fat, and…oh, right. Yes, that made sense. Trust someone like Alejandro to make a civil synonym out of a partial swear that insulted someone's weight.

I had to demo the challenge. "So, what happens here," I said, as I buckled the bungee cord around my ankle, is I jump down, like this…" I clamped my lips shut, trying not to scream as I jumped over the…er…hanging rock…and grabbed at the cardboard sheep set up for me among the herd. "And grab a sheep. Sorry I couldn't get a real one – three are set up for you, so I didn't want to grab one of yours."

Chris explained then that three of each sheep would have a tattoo on their neck of the team symbol, and they had to shear each sheep they brought up to find the tattoo. If the sheep didn't have one, too bad. They'd have to grab another one, and so on until they found one with their team's logo.

Bridgette looked apprehensive, but I whispered to her "Sheep always get sheared. I mean, do you feel that heat up here? And it's already March!" (It may have been cold up in the Northern Hemisphere, but it was getting to early autumn down here and although Hanging Rock was cooler than our landing area, it was still summery. Either way, Bridgette looked grateful for that and nodded. I knew her compassion for animals would make her think twice.

Team Amazon got an electric razor, since they arrived first, and Team Chris would get gardening shears, but weren't allowed to bungee down yet. I shot a sympathetic glance at Duncan.

"Any questions?" Chris finally asked.

I quickly got in before he could dismiss them. "Actually, Chrissy, I have one. What if one team gets one of the other team's sheep?"

"That's why there's three with the same logo." Chris answered. "The wrong team's logo doesn't count."

The one advantage Team Chris had is that they didn't have to sing this episode. Lucky, huh?

Still, Team Amazon, after getting their first sheep, courtesy of Cody, made a pretty good stab at Australian rock. It was the first time in a while where I'd actually had a chance to listen to them sing live, and I started to realize for the first time what amazing voices Heather and Bridgette had. Gwen sang too, but her husky voice didn't really make for lead vocals.

"Shearing sheep, don't be a creep!" Heather sang in her best pop star impression. "It's the only way we'll fly First, peeps!

Win the game, don't be so lame, lose this for us and your face I'll maim!"

Bridgette looked worried and sang in her lighter, sweeter, country meets pop vocals "Shearing sheep, do them no harm, if we win this it'll be cause of all our good karm',

Team leader's out of control, but that's gonna make us win the whole!"

At this point, all three girls began singing. "We are shearing sheep, we are shearing sheep,

We are shearing sheep, we are shearing sheep!"

Okay, Heather sang another verse before the song was over, but either way, there was no logo on their sheep's neck and they had to go for another one.

Sierra dived over the cliff, calling out "This one's for Cody!" Yeah, she forgot the cord. I had to go down and help Chef administer First Aid, so I actually missed the rest of the challenge. Long story short, Owen arrived, accidentally brought up a dingo, and then the men threw it at Cody so he was distracted while they got their first sheep. Team Amazon had no luck with their second sheep either, and the bungee cord was all tied up with the dingo and Cody, so while Team Chris snipped their first sheep, they didn't have the chance to get another one. And Team Chris managed to get one with Chris' face on it on their first try, too.

So I was up in First Class with Team Chris again. It was nice to be with them for the first time since London, but I was a little worried for Team Amazon. I did quietly discuss the eliminations with my two friends. They agreed that they weren't quite ready to lose Heather yet.

"She's a good leader." Bridgette admitted. "We thought we'd wait until after the merge to lose her."

"And we're obviously not going to vote each other off." Gwen added. "But I'm torn on who to go for. I think we do need to separate Sierra and Cody, but I feel like there'll be a loss to both of them. I know Cody will vote for Sierra, because he's done that every time so far. If we kept him, he could really help us as an ally. But Sierra's better at challenges."

"I say go for Sierra." I suggested. "We're more than halfway through the season. Chrissy hasn't told me when we're merging yet, but there's only ten of you left. For all we know, you might be the last elimination, or second to last."

So I wasn't that surprised when I peeped into Economy Class that evening to see no sign of the tallest Amazon.

I know, a bit lackluster, sorry. I'm kind of annoyed that sheep are apparently Australian now. I thought us New Zealanders were the sheep champions of the world. In fact, we have a place called Sheepworld in NZ that is for feeding sheep and buying sheepswool products. But hey, Hanging Rock is cool. And warm. As for Sierra going home…just kind of a weird thing. I felt like this time around, it was her time to go. Hope you didn't mind my new lyrics for Shear The Sheep.
