Sweden. I haven't been there. I haven't been anywhere in Scandinavia actually, but I don't like the cold, so it's not high on my list of places to visit. Fun fact about not only Sweden, but all of Scandinavia: It's usually either constant daylight, or constant nighttime. You NEED good blinds and good lights if you live there.

Chris didn't need to brief me too much this time. All he really told me was "Sweden. Boat building, Viking captain, sink the ship or capture the flag." Okay, he told me the ins and outs, but it was quick.
All the drama was up in First Class. I played a few rounds of table tennis with Tyler (winning every time) and chatted happily with Duncan, with Owen joining in (we didn't mind), but I was getting weird vibes from Alejandro. Ever since we agreed to just be friends, he'd been nice, but nothing too much. This time, I wasn't sure if I could say he was flirting with me again, but he was definitely paying me more attention than he had since then. I thought he might be trying to get information off me, but he didn't ask me any questions about that. And as usual, he had that magnetic thing about him that made me feel wanted and important.
I can barely remember what we talked about. I might have talked a bit about being on Action, actually. How much fun it was to be a contestant, and how being a host took some pressure off, but put more on. "Because I'm not on the same level as you all anymore," I admitted, "It's harder to feel like I'm friends, even though I can't be voted off."
Alejandro gave me one of his special smiles and said "Well, I can't speak for anyone else, but I consider you a friend. And a good one." I blushed as usual.
Some time later, when Alejandro was making a confessional and I was trying to nap, I heard Owen's loud voice. "So, Al and Toni. Do you think it's a thing?"
"Whatever." Duncan's voice sounded bored. "I don't think it'll happen. She told me they both decided to be friends, but he sure is trying to get closer to her."
"Yeah, it's funny," Owen said, "Cause Noah always said Al was into Heather big time."
My eyes shot open. Noah had said that? Was it true? Did Heather know about it? It was lucky the guys couldn't see me, because I could keep eavesdropping.
"What else did Noah say?" Duncan asked. His voice was suddenly very interested.
Owen answered casually. "Oh, just that Al's not what he seems, he's a slippery eel and I should never trust him cause he's a male Heather." He sighed. "I really miss Noah."
"Yeah, me too." Duncan said. "And the best way to show him what his friendship meant to us is to obey his dying words."
Owen immediately choked and exclaimed "What?! When did he die?!"
"No, he's fine." Duncan said quickly. "I meant his parting words."
At this point, I pretended to wake up, just so I had an excuse to see what Tyler was making of this. Turned out he hadn't even been listening. He'd been absorbed in some radio basketball game. I really wanted to ask for his take on Alejandro, or if he had noticed any interest in Heather, but I caught myself just in time. I was still a co-host, and I couldn't get involved in team strategy or interactions.
It took about five minutes for Duncan to approach me. "I just wanted to warn you," he said, "That you shouldn't let Alejandro get that close to you. I heard he can't be trusted."
I laughed. "Not that I'm allowed to tell you what I hear, but I am allowed to watch confessionals. I am totally aware. Also, you know I agreed that we'd just be friends. Plus I'm not competing, so he's not going to get anything out of getting close to me."
"Anything?" Duncan's smirk took on a sly edge, and I realized what he was implying.
I gave him a shove. "Stop being a creep! What, did you get something from Courtney between seasons?"
Duncan shrugged, pretending he wasn't awkward. "Not really. She wanted to talk about limits, but there's several more favours you could do before that one. And, Toni," he added, looking serious now, "It's because you're not competing that you could do other kinds of favours. Inside information. Advantages. Just be careful."
I finally just nodded. "I know. Now you can go finish getting Owen and Tyler on your side for the next vote."
I wore my cardigan when we finally did land in the snowy landscape. "Welcome to Sweden!" I said, trying to smile through my chattering teeth.
"Where are those jackets you guys ordered for us in the Yukon?" Heather wanted to know.
I shrugged. "I didn't order them. Chances are Chrissy ate them or something. I'll go check."
Two minutes later, I was back. "Okay, sorry, but according to Chrissy and Chef, there are no jackets. Chrissy just made it up to give you false hope." Yeah, they'd told me they'd made up the whole thing about ordering coats. "So all cold locations mean we just have to freeze. I'm cold too, you know, and I've got a cardigan."
As I spoke, Alejandro took a few steps towards me, as if to offer body heat. I shook my head just a fraction, and started to say loudly, "Anyway, we better get started with the challenge."
However, as I spoke, I caught sight of Heather's expression. I couldn't quite figure out what it meant. It was sort of half-angry, half-pleased, with a hint of jealousy in there as well. Had she been acting that way all season? How did Noah see it before anyone else did? Maybe the others had been right that there was more to him than a snarky jerkwad.
The first challenge was simple. I led both teams towards a set of wooden pieces and told them that they needed to try and assemble them. "Sorry, no instructions. Think about where we are – that's all I'm allowed to say as a clue. It's your job to figure out what you're building. And the first team to do it will get a major advantage in the next challenge."
I had to step back and watch for most of it, so Chris took the opportunity to give me some feedback. "There was no need to tell them I never ordered any jackets or coats or anything, you know," he said with a childish scowl. "You were doing okay, but the producers thought your Area 51 hosting was pretty lacklustre. Get more involved!"
"Like you did in Australia?" I countered. "Fine, I'll get more involved, but what happens when the producers like me even better and I get to host next season?"
Chris' cheeks went white, which I knew meant he was really trying hard to hang on to his temper. "Joke!" I said quickly. "Best Reality Show Host at the Gemmies, remember?"
The colour returned. That was a relief.
At that moment, I heard snorts of laughter from the cast. The Amazons had something, while whatever Team Chris was doing was hidden behind some screens. Cody was looking at his work proudly, most of Team Chris was laughing, and the subject of his art had more colour in her face than I'd ever seen on her.
The parts were supposed to be a boat. Not a model of Gwen's face. But somehow, that's what Cody had managed. Gwen looked as if she wanted to die of embarrassment. Heather was staring at Cody furiously. "That's what you made us build?" she said incredulously. Then, she picked up one of the tools and started chasing Cody with it.
"Stop!' Bridgette called out, trying to get between them. "Cody didn't mean to get anything wrong! We just need to salvage what we have!"
Ding-ding! "We need you guys to sing, anyway!" I called. "Heather, if you want to stay in, you need to wait until after the song to kill him."
I heard Alejandro mutter something, but not what he said. But I heard Owen's loud reply. "We're building a boat?"
The girls gasped, and Duncan gave a sigh and moved the screens to show their almost-finished sailboat.
I didn't listen to the song properly. It was just the girls lamenting building the wrong thing and the boys gloating that they were going to win. I mean, they did finish the boat by the end of the song, I guess.
"Well, Team Chris, looks like you get the advantage!" I said as the song finished. "Here you go!" I tossed them the little sack of flints. "Now, you need to push the boat out to open water and sail until you find Chef. You'll get your next instruction from there."
Alejandro turned to the men, and suddenly tore his shirt off, declaring "Tyler, you're with me. We'll pull from the bow."
"With your shirt off?" Duncan raised an eyebrow.
"Questions are for later!" Alejandro said impatiently. "Actions are for now! Push like the wind!"
"He sure does talk pretty for a guy." I heard Duncan mutter. Whatever. Just because Alejandro talked in a flowery way.
I turned away just long enough to see Heather and Bridgette staring at Alejandro's bare chest (okay, I had stared a little too – look, he was hot. Finally, Bridgette blinked and managed to pull herself away.
She was staring at the Gwen head carefully. Finally, she said "We need to cut the top off the head there! It's hollow, so the sail must be inside. Then we can still ride it like a boat!"
She was right – the sail did pop up once the top of the head wasn't pushing down on it, and they didn't take too long. And not before time, since Owen's indigestion actually ended up breaking the ice and they had to jump in quickly before they found themselves in freezing water.
As it was, I took a powerboat with Chris, so we were with Chef before the guys arrived.
Chef held out a Viking helmet. Owen reached for it, but Chef didn't let him have it. "Gotta pick a captain first."
"I vote Tyler." Alejandro said.
"Owen!" Duncan said at the same time.
The two voted men looked at each other. Finally, Tyler spoke up. "Uh, I don't mind if Owen wants the helmet."
Apart from that, each team also got a cannon and three Swedish meatballs as cannonballs. Their challenge was to capture a flag that was on a buoy not too far away, or sink the enemy's ship. The girls' disadvantage was that they had nothing to light the cannon with.
Meanwhile, the girls and Cody had an easier time choosing who was captain. Bridgette seemed to have the best social position, and so she got the helmet. However, she wasn't a war person, so she basically ignored the cannon.
And guess what? The girls ended up getting the flag. The boys got too distracted trying to sink them, and ended up too late.
I had to host the elimination. Personally, I knew there was most likely going to be some kind of tiebreaker – Owen and Duncan vs Alejandro and Tyler. I wasn't allowed to influence it, so I wasn't sure how it was going to go.
So when I checked out the votes, I don't know if I was surprised or not. All I knew was that the two strongest members of the team were not going home.
"Well," I said, holding out the three bags of peanuts, "I don't think anyone expected this outcome, least of all me, so let's just get this over with. Duncan, you're safe. So are you, Alejandro. The last bag goes to…" I paused for dramatic effect, knowing I had to. But finally, I had to speak up. "Owen!" I looked at the last member of the team. "Tyler, I'm sorry. I don't know why, but it's your turn to take the Drop of Shame. Here's your parachute."
And seconds later, Tyler was gone, and Team Chris had only three people left.
"I'll see you all later." I told them. "At the next location."
Yeah, I really needed to get rid of Tyler. The basic reason there was that he was one of Alejandro's allies, but he'd outlived his usefulness, just like in the OG Episode 15. Sorry if it seemed a bit contrived. I assumed Cody would still see Gwen's face in the boat, so that's why it still looks like her, despite her actually being there. And yep, Bridgette ogled Alejandro shirtless with Heather. Just because she's wary of him doesn't mean she doesn't find him attractive.
