Disclaimer: I do not own Sherlock Holmes, Resident Evil or anything else you may recognize

So welcome to Part 9 of the 'We Are Heroes' series. Hope everyone's excited.

Anyway, like I said in the ending A/N for the previous story, this is going to be a Sherlock-Verse/Resident Evil story, with 3 different Sherlock's and Watson's, and also some more characters who you will know soon.

Now this is Part 9 of a series, but it is not necessary to read the previous stories before reading this one to be honest.

All you have to know is that the barriers between worlds are weakening, and last story ended with 3 different Sherlock's and Watson's ending up on the Resident Evil Earth, around the time of Biohazard.

To differentiate between doppelgangers, Benedict Cumberbatch will be called Sherlock, Robert Downey Jr will be called Holmes and Jonny Lee Miller will be called Consultant. Sound good?

And for Watson, Martin Freeman will be called John, Jude Law will be called Watson, and Lucy Liu will obviously be called Joan.

So I hope everyone enjoys this.

Chapter 1- Investigation

Earth-217, Delvey, Louisiana

Sherlock Holmes of Earth-2010 looked around in shear confusion. Next to him, Dr. John Watson was looking around as well.

Both of these versions were wearing modern clothes, Sherlock in a black trenchcoat and black shirt and John wearing a black jacket and jeans.

"Sherlock, what is going on?" John asked, confused.

"My good man, I have no idea." Sherlock replied, equally puzzled. He looked down to see his feet were ankle deep in water.

"Damn it!" John groaned.

"This is rather repulsive." Sherlock agreed.

"How did we go from London to a swamp?" John asked, turning around 360.

"That is the question of the hour, is it not?" Sherlock agreed.

John reached into his pocket and pulled out his phone. His face scrunched up in confusion.

"Watson, what is it?" Sherlock asked on noticing his expression.

"There is no phone reception here," John replied in confusion. "No bars, nothing."

"Have you tried contacting Inspector Lestrade?" Sherlock asked him.

John dialed a number on his phone but it didn't even pick up. If John could look even more puzzled, he would.

"Huh? What on Earth?" he asked.

"What is it?" Sherlock asked, stepping closer to him.

"It didn't even go to voicemail," John said. "It's not picking up."

"I wonder if this is another one of Moriarty's schemes." Sherlock muttered, looking around.

"Why would he bring us to a swamp?" John asked.

"I do not know, but I have a feeling whatever is happening is not good." Sherlock replied. The hairs on the back of his neck stood up in response.

"But at least we're still on Earth." John pointed out.

"Thankfully, yes, it would seem." Sherlock agreed.

"So…now what? Do we find the nearest place and use a phone?" John suggested.

Sherlock was looking around, his eyebrows furrowed.

"It appears that is the best solution." Sherlock said. The bushes rustled nearby and he whipped his head around, but there was nothing there.

At that moment, Sherlock and John had a splitting headache at the same time.

Sherlock blinked as a booming voice spoke inside his head, rattling his brain slightly.

"Sherlock Holmes and John Watson of Earth-2010," a deep voice said. "You are on another Earth in the Multiverse. Earth-217 to be precise."

"Who are you and why are you in my head?" Sherlock thought back. He was cautious of this. Perhaps it was one of Jim Moriarty's tricks. If that was the case, he would not be fooled.

"I am simply known as The One," the being said. "The Multiverse theory that I am sure you have heard of is true. That is why you have randomly dropped here in the swamp."

"If what you are saying is true, how do I get back? And how do I know you're not lying to me?" Sherlock asked back.

"Scattered on this Earth are pieces of a machine. One that can open portals anywhere in the Multiverse. Two of those pieces are here in this house up ahead. You will know what they look like when you see them. And besides; if I was trying to kill you, you would be already be dead before you even knew it."

Sherlock cringed over as the One applied pressure, as the being applied agony. Sherlock fell to his knees, his knees getting wet.

"So Watson and I are on another Earth," Sherlock mused. "Do you have sufficient evidence to support your claim?"

In response, several projections appeared inside Sherlock's mind, various points in his life, as well as images of other Earths.

"Is that enough evidence?" The One asked in an amused tone.

"Why do you need us to collect these parts for this machine? And why are you helping us?" Sherlock asked, snapping out of his daze.

"Because there is a conflict coming. I do not know much about it. But you need to be on your own Earth before it begins. You need to collect the pieces if you wish to activate the machine. You will know what it is when you see them." The One said.

With that, the voice faded, leaving Sherlock both confused and intrigued.

John was on his knees, gripping his head in pain.

"Sherlock, did you hear that voice?" John asked, looking at him, and Sherlock realized that he had heard it too. "We can actually get home."

"I heard it too," Sherlock said thoughtfully. "It does explain why we went from London to a swamp."

"You think he was telling the truth?" John asked.

"I believe so," Sherlock said. "It showed me visions of my past, and other Earths. And he mentioned a conflict coming."

"I heard that too." John muttered.

"For now at least, we should concentrate on finding our way out of this swamp. And if this 'One' was telling the truth, there are 3 pieces of a machine on this Earth, which according to him is Earth-217." Sherlock said.

"And he said we are from Earth-2010 apparently." John added.

"Yes," Sherlock nodded. "So if we collect these pieces, we can go back to our Earth."

"I say we do it." John sighed.

"I agree," Sherlock said. "Now there must be a house nearby."

"You mean like that?" John asked, pointing to an old wooden house up ahead.

"Precisely, my dear Watson." Sherlock smirked as the two began walking towards it.

"Do you still have a gun?" Sherlock asked.

"Yes and only one magazine." John replied regretfully.

"Then let's go, shall we?" Sherlock asked as they walked together.

Same time

In a grove of trees, a man with dark curly hair and wearing late Victorian era clothes looked around, realization on his face.

Next to him, a man with a short moustache, and also wearing Victorian era clothes looked around.

"Sherlock, do you think that person or entity, whatever that was, was telling the truth?" Watson asked.

"My good man, I do believe so," Holmes agreed. "It showed me flashes from the past. A truly fascinating concept."

"He brought us here to stop this conflict." Watson mused.

"Right you are, Watson," Holmes agreed. "And if we wish to get home, we must collect these fragments. I have never heard of a machine that can open portals."

"Neither have I, but I've seen stranger things." Watson shrugged.

"Well, my good man, let us go." Holmes said and the two walked towards the abandoned house.

Same time

On the opposite side, near the murky bank, a man with short brunette hair and wearing a brown trenchcoat looked over at his companion- an Asian woman. Both were wearing modern clothes.

"Sherlock, do you think this voice might be legit?" Joan Watson asked.

"It's like he said," Consultant pointed out. "If he wanted us dead, I'm sure both of us would be dead."

"But a portal to another world? This is new, even for us." Joan said.

"Indeed it is," Consultant agreed. "But I do wish to get back home. We do need to finish up our shopping."

"And don't forget the conflict." Joan added.

"Indeed." Consultant agreed. Together, the two walked across the bank.

Sherlock and John walked through a basement, flashlights in their hands.

"Sherlock, do you even know where we are going?" John asked as they looked around at the dark and claustrophobic tunnel.

"My dear Watson, I do not." Sherlock shook his head.

Unseen to either of them, an old man with glasses and wearing a yellow jumpsuit watched them from the shadows, an ominous smirk on his face.

And the first chapter is done.

So Ethan is already in the house, and the Sherlock's and Watson's have a mission.

I won't reveal who 'The One' is for quite a while, but I'll leave you to guess.

The device part will actually have a very important role down the line.

Also, I've never written Sherlock Holmes before, so I have no idea if my presentation was accurate or not.

Now, a lot of stuff will be different, as there will also be another plot happening.

But someone is watching Sherlock and John, which is not good.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter. Stay safe ya all!
