This chapter will involve the first piece, so hope all are excited. It will also set the stage for what's to come later.

Chapter 2- The First Piece

Earth-217, Delvey, Louisiana

Sherlock's feet crunched on the ground as he walked through some dark tunnels underneath the house.

"Sherlock, we've been walking around this place for hours and we've found nothing." John said, expressing his frustration.

"Have faith, my good man, I am sure it will be here," Sherlock said. "Besides, this appears to be a small house."

"But we don't even know what we're looking for." John pointed out.

"Agreed, he did not give us much information to work with." Sherlock agreed.

Holmes and Watson walked down a wooden bridge connecting two old houses.

"I don't like the feeling of this, Sherlock." Watson said, feeling something was off.

Both of them were frozen from trudging through a swamp for hours. Their pants were soaking wet and the cold was seeping into their very souls.

"I believe someone is watching us." Holmes agreed as the two walked ahead.

At that moment, something jumped out the water nearby and landed in front of them. It was huge, about 8 feet tall, and covered completely in gooey sludge.

"What on Earth?" Watson asked, his eyes widening slightly.

The creature roared and charged at them. Holmes' eyes narrowed as he looked at it, and he side-stepped, while forming a plan in his mind. It was almost like a sixth sense to him, where time seemed to slow down.

First, distract target.

Then block its claw strike.

Counter with cross to left cheek.

Discombobulate.

Dazed, creature attempts wild strike, employ elbow block and body shot.

Block feral left, weaken right jaw.

Now strike.

Holmes snapped out of his daze and struck. He reached into his pocket and threw a chain link at the creature.

To his shock, it swatted it aside and shoved Holmes, its inhuman level of strength causing him to fly back and hit the ground, knocking the air out of his lungs.

The creature lumbered towards Watson who pulled out a .442 Webley handgun and fired several rounds at the beast.

Holmes drew his cane and hammered a blow into the beast's knee, making it stagger.

As it did, Holmes gave it an uppercut with the cane, snapping its head back.

Taking advantage, Watson fired two rounds that completely blew the creature's head apart.

It swayed slightly before falling to the ground with a loud thud. A disgusting green liquid began pouring out of its destroyed head in the place of blood.

"What on Earth is it?" Watson asked, looking both interested and repulsed at the same time.

"I have no idea." Holmes replied, stunned for once.

"That is called Molded," The One said suddenly, booming inside their heads and causing both to grip their heads. "Humans mutated into this. The house ahead is infested with them, as is the piece of the machine. It is shaped like a glass cylinder, but glows with power. Find it."

With that, it faded away, leaving both Holmes and Watson looking around.

"This does not look good." Watson said.

"No, my dear Watson. It does not." Holmes said.

Sherlock and John opened a door, revealing a large room, with stairs leading up to the second floor and chairs in the corner.

"At least we're out of that foul basement." John commented, dusting off his jacket.

"Agreed, now we just have to find the missing device." Sherlock said quietly, slowly walking forward.

At that moment, the door behind them opened and Consultant and Joan walked through, stopping dead in their tracks.

Sherlock and John turned to face them.

"Who are you?" Sherlock and Consultant asked at once.

"Sherlock Holmes." Both replied simultaneously, and then their eyes widened in surprise.

"Impossible." Consultant muttered, looking his doppelganger up and down. he looked much different from him.

"You're also Sherlock Holmes? That's odd." Sherlock said.

"Sherlock, this smells fishy," John said. "Do you think he might be telling the truth?"

Sherlock placed a finger on his chin, briefly contemplating.

"It appears it could be true," he said. "The Multiverse is real. Therefore the possibly of other versions of both of us existing is not too far fetched."

"You were also transported here?" Consultant asked him, while Joan and John looked each other up and down.

"By some being calling himself 'The One', yes." Sherlock nodded.

Consultant's eyes widened on hearing that as realization dawned on him.

"He also brought you here?" Consultant asked. "Let me guess, to stop a conflict and collect 3 pieces of a machine?"

"Indeed." Sherlock replied, now wondering what the One's intentions were.

"Have you found it?" Consultant then asked.

"Not yet," Sherlock shook his head. "Watson and I were searching the tunnels underneath the house but found nothing."

"Watson?" Consultant asked, now looking over at John.

"Yes, Dr. John Watson." Sherlock replied, not understanding why he was so confused.

"I'm Joan Watson." Joan said, looking very surprised.

"My doppelganger is a woman?" he asked.

"You're me as well?" Joan asked, this being the second time today that she had been surprised.

"Yes, John Watson." He replied, still in slight shock.

"This is getting stranger and stranger." Joan muttered.

"I believe we need to find this device." Sherlock said, getting everyone's attention.

"Agreed," Consultant said. "If we all join forces, we might be able to do it."

"But this is one large house," Joan pointed out.

"Maybe we should split up." John suggested.

"Not going to work," Sherlock shook his head. "This house is too big. If we stick together, we might be able to find it."

"But we don't even know what we're looking for." Consultant pointed out.

At that moment, all gripped their heads as the One boomed inside their heads.

"It is shaped like a glass cylinder, but glows with power. Find it." It said before fading.

It showed a projection of a glass cylinder, with purple energy glowing.

"Never mind, answered my question." Consultant said, rubbing his head in slight pain.

"We should get going." Joan said.

At that moment, the door burst open and all turned to see a young man walking towards them with a battle ax. He had a bear gut.

A few Molded rose up next to him and walked alongside him.

"Eveline is gonna love playing with you lot!" the man said with an insane glint in his eye.

"Who?" John asked.

"Eveline is the person you must face if you wish to collect the piece," the One boomed again. "She is a malevolent being responsible for the Molded you see in front. You must stop her."

"I thought this place was abandoned." John said.

"Clearly not." Sherlock replied calmly. "All of you get going without me. I will follow."

"You sure you can handle this?" Joan asked.

"I am staying with you." Consultant said, taking out his Brock. Sherlock nodded at him as John and Joan moved away.

The man, who was called Lucas Baker, charged at them as the Molded lumbered towards them.

Sherlock struck first, punching Lucas in the face with his knuckleduster, while Consultant engaged the Molded.

He blocked one strike and gave the Molded an uppercut, making it stagger slightly.

Sherlock moved back as a plan formed in his head.

First, daze target.

Then strike throat to paralyze vocal chords, stop screaming.

Target appears to be heavy drinker, deliver body hook to floating rib.

Finally, damage knee.

In summary: ruptured eardrum, bruised throat, cracked rib, shattered knee.

Moving into action, Sherlock slammed his palm into the side of Lucas's head, right on his ear.

Lucas growled as Sherlock struck his throat, making him gasp slightly.

Sherlock then delivered a body hook, making Lucas grunt as he staggered. Finally, Sherlock knelt and delivered a punch to the side of Lucas's left knee, breaking it.

Lucas fell to the ground, grunting in pain.

"You sonofabitch, you're gonna pay for that!" Lucas snarled, twisting his knee back into place.

Sherlock looked over at him curiously, and a little bit of shock.

Consultant grabbed a staff from a nearby wall and smacked a Molded in the face with it, making it crash to the ground.

Seeing them all down, he turned to face Lucas and hit him in the chest. Lucas threw a wild haymaker, but Consultant used the staff to roll over his arm.

Sherlock delivered a body punch just as Consultant twirled the staff and hit Lucas in the face, sending him down.

Lucas roared as pink flesh started covering his skin and growing larger.

He was about to attack when he exploded into bits, only his legs remaining.

Both Sherlock's staggered back, shocked at the sudden turn of events. Then the legs got up.

"Are we about to fight a pair of legs?" Consultant asked carefully.

In response, the legs fell over, and they didn't get up.

"That was weird." Sherlock commented, still staring.

"We need to find the others, and that device." Consultant said, looking around.

"Let's go." Sherlock said and the two moved away.

Joan and John walked into a large room with some books on shelves.

"Let's check here." John said. Joan looked over at her doppelganger curiously.

"So…you're a doctor." She started.

"Yes," John nodded at her. "Were you in the military too?"

"Yes I was. Served in Afghanistan."

"Huh, that's funny, so did I." John chuckled.

The door opened behind them and both whipped around to see Holmes and Watson staring at them.

"Are you John and Joan Watson?" Holmes asked, looking at them.

"Yes, how did you know that?" John asked as he and Joan traded looks.

"I am Sherlock Holmes, this is John Watson. We are apparently from Earth-1887. I assume a being called The One said you must find pieces of a machine." Holmes guessed.

John and Joan traded looks.

"How many doppelgangers is this One going to bring over?" Joan asked.

"I don't know," John admitted. "But if they're here to help, I will accept it. Many hands make light work."

"And I have met two versions of me." Watson said, looking at John and Joan curiously. They looked back, also surprised.

"What's with the Victorian clothes?" Joan asked.

"What are you talking about?" Watson asked, confused.

"I think they might still be in the Victorian era," John said. "It is not entirely impossible."

"My good man, what are you talking about?" Holmes asked, puzzled.

"Never mind, it's a long story." John said, figuring that trying to explain it to them would have more questions than answers.

Joan noticed something in the corner and walked over to it, seeing a button. She pushed it and a projection appeared on the wall, lighting it up.

"What did you do?" Watson asked as all stepped back in surprise.

"I don't know, I just pressed the button." Joan said. The door opened and Sherlock and Consultant walked in together.

"Are you okay? What happened?" John asked.

"We don't have to worry about that man and the Molded anymore," Sherlock said before noticing Holmes and Watson. "Who are you two?"

"Sherlock Holmes."

"Dr. John Watson."

Sherlock and Consultant stared at them for a moment before the latter said. "And now this is even more confusing."

"The One brought us here to collect pieces of a machine to stop a conflict." Holmes spoke.

"That makes sense." Sherlock said thoughtfully.

"Uh guys, did none of you notice the giant projection and secret room?" Joan asked, drawing everyone's attention.

"What is this?" Consultant asked.

"I don't know." John admitted.

A projection appeared, showing a young man firing arrow after arrow at a giant beast with spiky protrusions.

"Who is that?" Watson asked.

"Says here that the beast is called Doomsday, and the man is Jason Stark. A champion of the Multiverse." Joan said, looking at some readings.

"And then there are Steve Rodgers, Tony Stark and Kal-El." Joan read, showing projections of a man throwing a shield, a man in red armor and a man firing some kind of ire from his eyes.

Sherlock noticed writing on a wall and looked at it. It said-

A King returns. All he touches turns to Ruin.

Next it it was another message-

The Crisis will inevitably arrive. All will fall and only a few will stand.

"Then there are mentions of objects called Infinity Stones," John said. "Can give its wielder control over reality itself."

"That sounds insanely powerful." Consultant commented.

"There is a world called Runeterra," Joan read. "A mystical world unlike any in the Multiverse."

The projection showed a blonde haired woman fighting numerous undead. The name 'Sara Lance of Earth-96' was written underneath.

"What is Runeterra?" Consultant asked.

"Says here that it is 'the great Unknown. Where feet may fail.'" Joan read.

Joan read something else. "Reaching the peak takes more than skill. Only those with the ambition to rise above all others will know its height."

The others began searching the room, trying to see if they could find the device. Sherlock opened some boxes, seeing only old photos, but nothing else.

Consultant peered into a corner, but still couldn't find it. John and Watson looked around.

"Does it say how we can find the device?" Holmes asked Joan.

"It is underneath the house, with Eveline," the One boomed again. "You need to get it back. Then I will tell you where the next piece is located. Go now!"

With that, it faded.

"Where is underneath the house?" Consultant asked.

"Downstairs actually. There is a gate leading below." Sherlock said, having already memorized it.

"Let us go then," Holmes said, twirling his cane.

Later

Ethan Winters groaned as Eveline flung him onto his back. He hit the ground with a loud thud, knocking the air from his lungs.

A huge slimy monster hovered above him, a gleam in her eyes.

"Today you die, Ethan Winters!" she declared, lunging at him. Ethan barely rolled away in time.

Gunshots rang out as Watson, Joan and Consultant walked into the area, looking at Eveline.

"You dare! I will kill all of you!" Eveline roared, charging at them. Everyone dove out the way and she shattered the ground.

Sherlock, Holmes and John ran around a corner.

"There!" John said, pointing towards a cylinder glowing with purple colored energy.

"I'll get it!" Sherlock said, beginning to climb up a wooden tower.

It appears as though Eveline is not holding back.

Eveline turned her attention towards Sherlock and snarled. "Oh no you don't!"

She lunged and a tendril shattered the tower. Sherlock let go and crashed to the ground, the rest of the tower following.

"SHERLOCK!" John said in horror.

"Now you will all die!" Eveline smirked. John took out his gun and began firing several rounds at her, Joan and Watson joining him.

In the rubble, Sherlock gasped for breath, feeling something pressing on his chest. He looked down to see a beam on it.

Using all of his might, he pushed it off him, feeling raw pain shooting throughout his body.

Appears ribs are cracked. Possibly broken.

Sherlock looked around to see the cylinder lying on the ground a few feet away. Eveline was still battling the others.

Sherlock began crawling towards it while Eveline was still distracted.

"Hold her!" John said, firing some more bullets. The gun stopped with a click and he groaned, realizing he was out of bullets.

"Anyone have some ideas?" Joan asked as she rolled away. Smirking, Holmes took out his cane fired a dart from the bottom end.

It struck Eveline in the eye, making her howl in agony.

"Oh you little bastard!" she roared.

"You have blow darts in your cane?" Consultant asked.

"Don't you?" Holmes asked back.

Eveline raised her hand to crush them and all sprinted out the way as she shattered some buildings instead.

"There is no way to stop her." Watson said regretfully.

Unseen to all of them, Sherlock crawled towards the cylinder lying on the ground.

Eveline sensed this and turned to face him with a smug look on her face. As she leaned in to attack him, Sherlock grabbed the cylinder.

A huge blast of energy erupted from the cylinder and struck Eveline, making her scream in agony as her flesh was erased into nothingness.

"NO!" Eveline screamed before the purple blast covered her and she was blown to bits.

Sherlock dropped the cylinder and everyone stared in shock at the scene.

"What just happened?" John asked, speaking for everyone present.

"My dear Watson, I have no idea." Sherlock said, actually stumped for once.

Ethan groaned and staggered towards them, bleeding in multiple places.

"Thanks guys. Whoever you are." Ethan said.

Holmes was about to say something when the a big gust of wind blew and a loud noise was heard.

Everyone looked around as a helicopter appeared in the air and landed on the ground. The words 'Umbrella Corporation' were written on the side.

A large, heavily built man exited the chopper alongside some armed men and walked towards them.

"Ethan Winters. My name is Chris Redfield." The man introduced himself.

"Why are you here?" Consultant asked him.

"To clean up the mess you made," Chris said, cocking his assault rifle back. "Get in the chopper if you guys want to live."

"Why?" How do we know we can trust you?" John asked.

"Because if I wasn't on your side, I would just shoot you right here." Chris said bluntly.

Unseen to them, Sherlock picked up the cylinder and carefully analyzed it before putting it in his coat.

"Go with him. He will guide you to the next piece." The One boomed inside their heads again, and this time, slightly impatient.

"Are you okay?" Chris asked, confused as to why everyone was kneeling on the ground.

"Yeah, we're fine." Joan said.

Sherlock's eyes narrowed suspiciously. It sounded as if the One was almost desperate for them to go.

The others slowly walked towards the helicopter while Sherlock looked around.

As he turned, something hit him in the back of the head.

Sherlock fell to the ground, knocked out.

And this is done. Sorry for the cliff-hanger everyone.

So Eveline has been defeated and the first piece recovered. But it has a mysterious function and Sherlock is clearly suspicious.

Hope all the interactions were enjoyed and Chris Redfield himself has finally shown up. This is where the fun begins.

I gave Joan her military background because I think removing it hurt the show quite a bit.

And Jason Stark also got a cameo here alongside some other Heroes through mysteriously stored archive footage.

Jason will be the only character to appear in every single story of this series, even if it's just a cameo or through archive footage.

You've got to love the fact that Jason is always there for his friends. Even when he's not there.

Next chapter will continue the plot, and will feature way more action as well as interactions.

Hope everyone enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter. Stay safe ya all!
