-Shinobi Among Immortals-

Prologue: Antigen

"The Vampire and Lycan Clans have been at war for centuries before I was born, their endless conflict hidden from the human world. I was turned by a Vampire, and given the strength to avenge my family against the Lycans. And I was good at it. Then I found Michael Corvin; a human, who was turned to neither Vampire or Lycan, but a Hybrid of the two, and everything changed. Allies turned enemies, and the Vampire Elders that I had protected for over six centuries now wanted me dead. We retaliated, killed the Elders, and for a brief moment of time, we were safe. But, then, a new darkness arose…The Purge. Human beings no longer kill each other. We are the enemy they've been waiting for. Escape has become our only chance of survival. Therefore…Michael and I are leaving tonight."

Selene, the last Death Dealer

Lane had been waiting patiently ever since he made the call to his friend in the IPU for the live capture of Michael Corvin; the Hybrid. Before the Purge had begun, he had a son whom he had lost to the disease now known as Lycanthropy, and it tore him apart. He swore then and there to ensure that his fate would not fall onto anyone else, or so he could help it.

When the existence of Vampires and Werewolves was being discovered, they came across many different Covens and Dens that held significant amounts of history however, there was one Den that held scientific research and knowledge that all pertained to creating a blending of the species to end their secret blood feud.

While their initial plan was for them all, or rather their original leader, Lucian to become a Hybrid, they nonetheless used Corvin to create it. And their future was secured through him as they so believed.

The Hybrid was Humanities key to creating a possible vaccine to counteract the Vampirism and Lycanthropic viral strains, and possibly even enhancing the Human condition itself…cancer, AIDS and many other numerous diseases that they've been plagued with for so long and thought incurable.

His thoughts were interrupted when a nurse came to his office, "Dr. Lane."

"Yes, nurse?" When he turned to face her, she didn't look like she had the kind of news that he wanted to hear.

"The Infected Persons Unit just reported in, the one sent after Subject 0."

"And…?"

"I-It's best if you follow me, sir." Lane did not like this, he already had a feeling what went down. He followed the nurse back to the primary labs, where he had prepared a cryogenic chamber for Subject 0, "The team that was sent to apprehend Subject 0, the Hybrid. They encountered a problem, and the retrieval didn't go as expected."

"What exactly happened?" The nurse handed Lane a report of the situation and at first his face boiled with rage. Apparently, a woman, a Vampire at that came into the scene and disrupted everything. One of the men got a little too itchy on the trigger finger and his Silver Grenade was fired off too early and struck Subject 0 in the heart and he fell into the river with the Vampire diving in to get him out.

They dropped a concussive flashbang that knocked them unconscious but a secondary explosion went off underwater, and a team was sent to retrieve their bodies. However, they only found one body, the Vampire intact, and Subject 0….

"They found nothing of Subject 0! Only a few of his organs?! We can't conduct our work with, with this!" He was ready to just rip the papers up and make the team that fucked up Subject 0's capture, lose their jobs and screw them over for life.

The nurse did her best to keep him calm, as not all was lost with the destruction of Subject 0, "Sir, keep reading!" Lane just looked at the nurse with nothing but stupidity, though he decided to indulge her. His eyes narrowed at the medical results of the Vampire that they brought in, his face was now in shock, "Is this accurate?"

"Yes sir. Her hormone levels are very high, and there is a slight bulge on her lower body."

"She's pregnant…with Subject 0's offspring…"

"Not everything is done for, sir."

"No this is good, very good. Superior even." Lane handed her the papers back and then went back to his office, as he gave her orders, "Have the Vampire labeled as Subject 1, keep her unconscious with maximum doses of ethanol 24/7, feed her an IV of nutrients to ensure her care and the fetus and label it Subject 2, we cannot let an opportunity like this slip away. Have the remains of Subject 0 put on ice, and preserved, there may still be some use for the organs in the future. I want to see the genetic structure of Subject 0 and Subject 1, and see if we can get anything out of the fetus. I'm going to get the board on call along with the other branch directors. Inform me only when you've gotten everything done, and we will continue from there, but no interruptions in the meeting." Dr. Lane arrived at his office and punched up the board of directors as well as made the calls to the other Antigen branch heads: Dr. Vergil Lykos of the Russian branch, Dr. Jin Tekawa of Japan, Dr. Katherine Slate of the New York branch, and Owalowa of the African branch.

"Ladies, and gentlemen, I regret to inform you all that Subject 0 could not be captured alive."

Everyone just groaned in frustration and anger, letting loose with their own comments on the matter that were no different from his own before. "I know, and I understand your frustrations everyone, but we recovered a Vampire that has Subject 0's offspring." He essentially dropped the bomb on everyone. Lane explained what exactly happened at the site, the aftermath and the precautions they've taken. It eventually became a unanimous agreement that this option, while prolonged for certain, would work out even better than beforehand.

Tekawa was the first to ask about the details pertaining to Subject 2, "Now that we no longer have Subject 0 as a viable source for creating an identification system for the infected and a possible cure. How exactly long will we have to wait until we can start properly researching the viral strains?"

Lane was quick to answer, "Because Subject 0 was already fully developed we would have no trouble with the research, however…now that we have Subject's 1 & 2 we can research more thoroughly into the infected strains, I suggest we allow Subject 2 develop at least until the age of 18."

More details were eventually knocked out as their work was discussed.

Tekawa asked another question. "And what about our other request, Doctor Lane?"

Lane sighed. "Ladies and Gentlemen, I feel that our efforts regarding the purge have been a little overenthusiastic. While we have reduced the populations of the infected, these creatures have been around for centuries. After the Purge, they have hidden themselves well. We have doubled our efforts in searching for them, but it will be some time before we are able to truly gain supremacy over them."

"However, things have not deteriorated to a great degree. While the loss of Subject 0 is most unfortunate, we still have Subject 1 and 2 in our possession. With both these Subjects, we can work on creating our own versions of "infected", creations that we will have full control over. With these subjects, we can realize the goal of Project Olympus, a creation that will help us end all of this."

"Therefore, I propose the creation of two subdivisions. The first one will be dedicated to researching and weaponizing the viral strains, and to create and control Project Titan. The second subdivision will be about using these viral strains to improve the human condition."

The board members were all lost in thought. Lane was on pins and needles, as they were all discussing among themselves whether his proposal would be something that would be acceptable to them. Finally, the board members deferred to Tekawa, who made his decision.

"Very well, Doctor Lane. We accept your proposal. You are clear to work on Project Olympus. Take all the time you need, but make sure your work yields significant fruit. Once you have all you need from Subject 1 and 2, harvest their organs and drain their blood. There should be no trace of those abominations left in the world."

"Oh, and please, do understand this doctor. We demand results of the highest level. If you fail us, we will find someone else to give us what we desire. Please, do take account of that in all your endeavors."

Tekawa let that subtle threat hang, as he and the rest of his board members left. Once they all left, Lane fell to the ground, as he wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. The board members of Antigen were indeed a powerful bunch. However, Dr. Jacob Lane was motivated by more than the goal of improving the human condition.

Lane's goal was far much more than that. It was about putting humanity back as the apex predator, the true overlords of the Earth. These creatures, Lycans and Vampires, were nothing more than abominations, oddities of nature itself. Still, they would serve a great purpose. Their "sickness" would be used to help humanity ascend to its proper position.

Seventeen Years Later

The sight of a smoking, very large crater is what greeted Dr. Jacob Lane and agents from Antigen, as Lane took in the area. A call from the police was received by Dr Lane; these specific cops were on Antigen's payroll, and would not disturb him and his agents as he took control of the area, as they examined the site for anything that was unusual.

"You have your orders, now get to it. This is to be done by the book." Lane barked out his orders, as the agents got to work, taking samples and examining the area.

So far, from what was gathered, there was no trace of chemicals or radiation in the isolated area. Some trace minerals were found which looked like they came from the moon, which baffled Lane. Adding to this, the very air felt wildly different, and the sheer size of the crater led Lane to believe that this was not the work of a Lycan or a Vampire.

His thoughts were interrupted by an agent showing him a sample of blood that they found. It was found on a fence, and there was not much of it. Lane had set up a makeshift tent and put a few drops of the blood on a scope.

"Well, this is something very…,interesting." Lane chuckled to himself. "Yes…, most interesting."

From the blood, Lane learned that it was full of white blood cells, in fact, it looked like the blood was brimming with life. He combined it with a dead cell belonging to a vampire, and it was as if the cell came back to life, which shocked him. There was something in this blood that was beyond a Lycan and a Vampire, and daresay, even a hybrid itself.

He needed to get this back to the lab at Antigen. Further research needed to be done, and he also had to inform his superiors of the situation.

As he called Dr. Tekawa, Lane was giddy. "Sir, what we have found here is amazing. The possibilities are endless. Project Olympus can truly get off the ground, and our work with creating our own "infected" can be accelerated to a greater degree."

The past 17 years had been a mixed bag of results. Project Olympus had started off in all the wrong ways, while their work with creating their own "infected", was mixed at best. However, Subject 2 was growing quite well. And with this blood and Subject 2's blood, it was possible to make something godly.

With this blood, he could secure more funding, and perhaps finally get the board off his back.

"I can see how excited you are, Dr. Lane. Please temper your excitement with caution. Your priority should be to capture this individual alive. I should not have to remind you about your hand in Subject 0's end."

Lane gulped. "Yes, of course sir, That will not happen again."

"See to it that it does not."

Lane grumbled as he closed his phone. This Tekawa was getting on his nerves. He prepared a tracking unit, as he noticed the sky rumbling with thunder; just his luck. Whenever something special was to happen for him, the gods had to jam cock in ass. He could not lose this opportunity.

No to mention this area where the crater was found was a weird one. It was very isolated, and no cameras and there was only one light. Of all the days for a discovery to occur, things had to go wrong.

Lane barked at his agents. "I want this individual found alive. Tranquillizers only. If he is brought dead to me, your lives will be ruined gentlemen."

The agents needed no more motivation as they went searching for this mysterious individual. As they fanned out, the small number of footprints led them into a forest leading into the city. Lane had decided to join them.

"Do not be heroes, gentlemen. If you find the target, radio in your location. Do not engage alone, this individual could be more powerful than what we have seen before."

Hours had passed, as no progress was made. It was as if this individual had disappeared into thin air. Though Lane discovered a small streak of blood on a tree, the individual was nowhere to be seen in sight. They had used the forest to cover their tracks well. Not even the dogs could sniff out anything significant.

"We will continue the search in daylight tomorrow. Pack up the remaining samples and take them to the lab."

As the agents left, Lane was left in contemplation. Though he could not find the individual, the night was not lost entirely. In his hands, perhaps he found the key to his own ascension.

Meanwhile, as Antigen was packing up, the mysterious individual in question was resting in an alley, his visage full of anger as he was left thinking about how badly things got screwed up.

"How could this have happened, how could going from the moon back to Konoha land me here?"

The individual in question that Antigen was searching for was none other than Uzumaki Naruto, future Hokage of Konoha, and hero of the Fourth Shinobi World War. However, that was no longer possible. His botched attempt of coming home from the moon, had somehow brought him here.

After falling on a metal fence, and performing first aid, he found himself walking into a city and hiding an alley as he straightened himself out. As he left the alley under the cover of rain, he saw a sign showing creatures he had never seen before. This new Earth was full of surprises, and not any good ones at all.

"I need to lay low, for now. I will find a way to get back home."

He blended in with the crowd, ready to find his way back home, no matter the cost.

Chapter End

Well everyone, this is the prologue. I hope you all enjoy it. Please read and review generously.

I cannot promise that updates will be regular, but I will do my best. I have deleted my Thor story and will come out with a better Naruto/ArrowVerse story soon. Keep an eye out for that one.

Now, I want to say some things. Naruto has not lost Kurama in this story, just had his connection severed so to speak; otherwise, it would be too easy. However, Naruto is still plenty powerful in his own way. He may not be able to contend with Selene as he could've before, but he's still much above the humans of the world.

Speaking of humans, Awakening made such a missed opportunity with them. They were propped up as the main antagonists of the film, but then halfway through it, reverted back to the Lycans, which was… disappointing… but that will change in this story.

There will also be some interesting opponents and enemies here. Please do keep an open mind, and enjoy this story. I hope you all will enjoy it.

Stay safe and enjoy 2021. See you in "A Different World."
