Disclaimer: I do not own Tolkien's Middle-earth or anything else you may recognize
This is movie-only stuff, since it involves Tauriel.
As much as I wasn't a fan of the whole Tauriel/Kili thing, considering how heartbroken she was after Kili's death, I imagine it would end in only one way.
Legolas rode his horse as fast as he could, he had to reach Tauriel before she was gone forever, she was his oldest and truest friend since his childhood, he could not just let her go without at least trying to speak with her once, he had to try, just try.
And there it was, he was at the Grey Havens at last.
Legolas dismounted his horse a few seconds before it even stopped, and saw Tauriel, ready to go onto the ship.
"Tauriel."
Tauriel turned around, her expression indicating she did not feel happy anymore, but on seeing him, she cracked a smile.
"Mellon", she greeted as the two of them embraced.
"I came as soon as I heard", Legolas said. "It was a long journey."
Tauriel had a grateful smile. Legolas had left for a journey of his own after the Battle of the Five Armies, while she had been allowed to return to the Woodland Realm, but now she knew her heart did not belong in Middle-earth.
"You do not need to go", Legolas then urged, as Tauriel looked away sadly. "You can come back with me."
Tauriel looked up at him, and shook her head. "Nothing remains for me here."
"I do", Legolas pointed out to her. "So does my father."
Once, not too long ago, Tauriel would have been doubtful that Thranduil cared for her, but seeing her mourn for Kili had once more awoken the Woodland King's long-dormant empathy, and now he was regretful of his treatment of her, so he had ended her banishment, taking her back with him to Mirkwood.
But he too knew where her heart truly lay, and it was not in Middle-earth. He had only entrusted upon himself to care for her until she left, and he knew she would.
"I know", Tauriel nodded at last. "But what I feel, it cannot be healed here, no matter how much you or I want it to be healed. I cannot stay."
Legolas had hoped to convince her, but her expression, how she spoke, and how she sounded, that made it clear, there was nothing that could be done now.
He was going to lose his friend now, she would sail to the Undying Lands to be at peace and heal herself of the wounds her heart had endured at the Battle of the Five Armies.
Legolas' face now hardened as he said. "Navaer, mellon nin."
"Navaer, mellon nin", Tauriel responded, as they shared one final embrace.
And then Legolas watched as Tauriel walked to the ship, and boarded it, turning back to look at him one last time with a bittersweet smile, which he returned, and then she turned away, walking onto the ship as it sailed away.
With that, Legolas had lost his childhood friend. His heart heavy, he turned back to his steed, deciding to try and find Strider again like his father had asked him to.
And done.
Considering how heartbroken Tauriel seemed, going to the Undying Lands seems to be what she'd do, and others agree with me too.
Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with some other update.
