Chapter 3- New Case

Honolulu, Hawaii

Jake walked into the Five-O headquarters to see McGarett and Danny already there, discussing something, but Chin Ho and Kono were nowhere to be found.

"Hey guys." Jake greeted casually.

"Hey, you're right on time." Danny said, turning his attention to a small screen.

"What case do we have?" Jake asked.

"Kidnapping," McGarett informed him. "Teenage paddleboard champion Jenn Hassley. We have 24 hours to find her because she was taken without the medicine she needs to stay alive."

"Goddamn." Jake said in disbelief.

"We got this covered," McGarett said confidently. "We just need to locate her."

"I think we got a lead," Danny spoke up and both looked at him. "Matt Porter. He's been taking young girls for years, but there was no sufficient evidence to put him behind bars."

"Then that's our lead," McGarett said. "Jake, you're with me."

"You got it." Jake smirked, straightening out his jacket as he and McGarett walked out of the precinct, and got into McGarett's car.

"Let's just let go like roulette." Jake said as they drove off and down the crowded streets of Honolulu.

20 minutes later, the two arrived outside a modest house, looking out to see a small apartment.

"This is the place?" Jake asked.

"Yep," McGarett nodded. "Got the address and this is it."

"Well then, this should be fun." Jake quipped, rubbing his hands.

The two walked up to the front door, where McGarett knocked on the door. They got no response.

McGarett and Jake pulled out their guns and kicked the door down.

"Search the area!" McGarett ordered.

"Got it." Jake nodded, turning the corner and scanning the area. As he looked around, his eyes were drawn to a corpse on the ground.

"Uh, Steve, you might wanna see this!" he called back. A moment later, McGarett emerged into the area.

"He's already dead," Jake said grimly. "Gunshot wound."

"We need to call this in." McGarett said, putting his gun away.

"On it," Jake nodded. "But now what?"

"We need to get back to HQ and figure it out from there." McGarett said and the two moved away.

Later

Jake stood in a hall, pacing about anxiously. He needed to get information on Wo Fat, since according to the IMF database, he was here in Hawaii.

He was broken out of his thoughts by the sound of approaching footsteps. Looking up, he saw McGarett approach him, a concerned look on his face.

"What is it?" Jake asked him.

"Turns out that Matt Porter was actually helping girls, not kidnapping them. There were girls that were part of sex cults, and he rescued them." McGarett said.

"So obviously whoever killed him was not happy about that, and decided to get payback." Jake realized.

"Yes," McGarett nodded. "Now we just need to figure out who did it."

"Alright, what do you need me to do?" Jake asked.

"For now, nothing. I'll call you when we find something." McGarett said.

"Fair enough." Jake shrugged, tapping him on the shoulder before walking away.

He walked out of the hallway, before taking out his phone and making a call.

A few moments later, the voice of Benji Dunn answered.

"Yes, Jake?"

"Hey, Benji, I need you to do me a favor please." Jake said.

"What do you need?" Benji asked.

"I need you to do some digging and see what you can find on a girl named Jenn Hassley. She went missing and we only have 24 hours to find her. Listen, she's just an innocent girl, she doesn't deserve this." Jake said.

"Okay, I'll get back to you as soon as I can." Benji sighed, disconnecting the call.

Jake put the phone down, rubbing his eyes. This was starting to look more difficult than just taking down Wo Fat.

2 hours later

Jake walked into the precinct to see everyone talking.

"I got your call, what's going on?" Jake asked.

"We got an anonymous tip. Found where Jenn is." McGarett said. "We need to go, now!"

"Thank you, Benji." Jake grinned to himself.

"I've got the address." Chin Ho said. "Let's go."

Jake nodded and he joined the others.

"Now this is going to be fun." He grinned.

Jake quietly moved into a warehouse, where they had tracked Jenn down.

"Several guards moving in on your position." Danny said via comms.

"Got it." Jake nodded. The first guard moved around the corner and Jake punched him in the face, sending him down.

Another tried to grab him from behind but Jake spin kicked him, knocking him out.

Two more guards rounded the corner and Jake swept one's legs before elbowing another in the face, knocking him out as well.

As he turned a corner, he was punched in the head, making him stagger. Quickly recovering, he kicked him in the throat.

Jake then looked up to see two guards running in his direction. He got up and before they could react, he threw a pair of knives. They hit the guards in the shoulders, taking them down. He continued walking.

"Guys, I'm on my way to the main spot. Keep going." Jake said via comms.

He then ran out from there and fired more, killing more soldiers. One of the soldiers threw a grenade at him. Jake jumped away just as it exploded, barely avoiding the blast.

But then he felt a sharp pain in her leg and realized that a piece of shrapnel had hit his leg.

"Son of a bitch." Jake groaned in agony.

"You okay?" Danny asked.

"I'm fine. Just a bit of shrapnel." He replied.

One man attacked Jake with a knife but he grabbed his hand and spinning around, made him stab himself in the side as he fell down.

Another attacked but he grabbed his hand and twisted it, breaking his bone as he screamed.

Jake then kicked out 3 of them in quick succession before one grabbed him from behind but he grabbed his wrist and twisted it, making the man scream in pain as Jake freed himself and dropped him.

As another attacked, Jake spun him around and grabbed him in a chokehold before dropping him.

As another struck, Jake grabbed his foot and spun him around, making him fall down as Jake twisted his foot, breaking it.

One more attacked but Jake kicked him back. As he tried to attack again, Jake spun around and trapped his foot with his own, making him fall down as he knocked him out.

"All too easy." He smirked to himself.

As a guard arrived, Jake grabbed him from behind. As the two struggled, the guard ended up dropping his gun and Jake stabbed him in the gut with his knife.

Sneaking around the area while the others fought, he grabbed another guard and muffled his screams before slicing his throat. He then planted another grenade.

Jake stabbed one guard in the abdomen, before tossing the knife to his other hand, and spinning around, sliced the guard across the eye, blinding him.

He walked into a large area outside and noticed more guards approaching him.

"Looks like Sensei taught me well." He mused to himself.

He blocked one guard's strike and kicked him in a spin motion before punching another in the face and side-kicking a third.

"Jake, meet up with us on the South-West corner!" McGarett said via comms.

"I'm on it!" Jake replied, running.

As he ran, he stopped on seeing a young girl huddled in a corner. His eyes widened on seeing it was Jenn.

"Hey, kid, you're gonna be okay." He assured and she looked up at him with both fear and hope in her eyes.

"Are you sure?" she whispered.

"You'll be fine." Jake assured, picking her up bridal style.

"Guys, I've got Jenn. What now?" he asked.

"Get her as far away as possible." Danny said.

"I'm on it." Jake said. "Now this is a win."

Later

Jake walked up to McGarett.

"What's going to happen to her now?"

"She'll be fine." McGarett nodded.

"Good," Jake said. "This was fun."

"It's good to have you on the force." McGarett said, holding out his hand and Jake shook it.

"Sure is, buddy." Jake smirked.

Later that night

"Good work guys." McGarett said to Jake, Danny and Chin Ho as the four sat around a table in an open bar.

"Thanks," Jake said. "This was fun."

"Sure was," Chin Ho agreed. "And we saved an innocent girl too."

"Where's Kono?" Jake asked, looking around.

"She was called in," Danny revealed. "Don't know what for though."

"Well, I hope she's okay." Jake said, taking a sip of his beer.

"You are really skilled, Jake," Chin Ho said to him. "I saw you take out all of those guards like they were nothing."

"Well, I had training, and a good Sensei." Jake said simply, opting not to reveal too much information.

"Nevertheless, great job, all of you," McGarett said. "You all did well."

"Thanks." Jake said.

As they continued talking, Jake looked out over the horizon, wondering what new adventures and dangers lay ahead.
