Chapter 14- No forgiveness

Angel stood in his room, staring at Connor's empty, soot-stained crib while holding in his hands the picture they had taken of the whole team with the baby shortly after Connor's birth.

He felt Cordelia hug his arm, trying to comfort both him and herself, as she let her own tears fall over what had just happened.

At Holtz's base, his other men and women sat together, looking at two chained up Vampires, still wondering where Holtz and Justine had gone.

"What should we do now?" One of them asked the other.

"Let's train more", another suggested as he gestured to the two chained up Vamps.

"No more training, it's real now, let's go get 'em!" A third said.

"Not without the captain!" One more spoke up.

"The captain isn't here!" Another said.

And with that, they started arguing.

Down at the Hyperion's lobby, Fred and Gunn stood across from Lorne and Groo, having just been informed of what had happened.

"Matt then went full Devil and….." Lorne choked out while trailing off sadly.

"I just don't believe it", Fred muttered.

Lorne informed. "Yeah. It's true."

"No. It can't be. The baby's not gone. Neither is Matt."

Lorne replied regretfully. "I'm sorry, sweetie, but they are."

"Not like that. - Not a portal", Gunn turned to look at her. "There-there is pulling and there is noise, and there is nothing to hold on to. Nothing at all..."

"Baby..."

"He must have been so scared", Fred said about Matt as Gunn wrapped her in his arms.

"Shh. I know," Gunn stroked Fred's hair, while thinking about Matt, whom he had thought invincible, and now he had let the Devil out in Hell, and they might never see him again. "This is making less and less sense." He faced Lorne. "You expect us to believe that Wesley - our Wesley - just walked up to Holtz and handed over Connor?"

"They'd been meeting secretly", Gunn threw up his hands. "I read that much before Wesley attacked me."

"Then you read him wrong!"

Lorne responded. "He was not taking Connor for a stroll, Charles. When he left here with that child he wasn't planning on coming back - ever."

"And I found him with a wound on his head", Groo added in Lorne's support. "Wesley did that."

"God. - Why?" Fred asked.

Angel came down the steps. "I don't care why. All I care about now is getting my son back. Then I'll deal with those responsible. They'll all pay. Including Wesley." He turned to Lorne. "Quor-toth dimension. Ever hear of it?"

"No."

"That's where the portal lead. That's where my son is now and Matt too", Angel told them. "I was told it's a savage place with primitive and ugly beings, which means not good." He then dropped a sketch of Sahjhan down. "We're gonna find this son of a bitch." He sat down on Wesley's chair. "His name is Sahjhan. He's some kind of inter-dimensional demon." Fred and Gunn looked at Sahjhan's drawing. "He's been behind this from the beginning."

Lilah sat in her office, frozen in shock over what she had just seen when Linwood entered and she demanded. "What the hell is Matt? You know what he is."

"Oh no, we don't say his name", Linwood shook his head in fear. "The Devil is gonna come if we do."

Lilah found Linwood a huge step-down from Holland but even he wasn't cowardly enough to be afraid of a name, so if he was afraid of a name, that said a lot.

"And you met Sahjhan behind my back", Linwood reminded.

"It wasn't behind your back. It's all right here in my report, which I was making sure would be on your desk first thing in the morning", Lilah responded.

"Very considerate of you", Linwood chuckled, then told Lilah. "I think it's best you forget what you saw tonight."

He then walked off while adding. "Though it's pointless since it will be blamed on you anyway."

Lilah scoffed and rolled her eyes.

At Hyperion, Cordelia was helping Fred and Gunn look through Wesley's files in his office as Groo too helped out by finding any, while Angel had gone out, and they were afraid it was to punish those responsible.

"You think Angel is gonna do it?" Fred asked.

"No", Cordelia denied. "I don't think he'll kill Wesley."

She added sadly, trying to hold back tears. "I'm more worried about Matt and Connor."

"The Demon has caused a lot of grief here by letting Holtz take the baby into the portal", Groo sneered, and he didn't sound very pleased either.

"Maybe we should find Wes first", Gunn suggested.

"Yeah", Fred agreed. "Groo, you coming?"

"I am", Groo nodded as he assured Cordelia. "We shall find a way out of this mess, princess."

"Thanks Groo", Cordelia said genuinely as the three of them walked out while she continued looking through it.

Later

After having taken a small break to take a shower, Cordelia came out to see Angel staring at the weapons cabinet and called out. "Angel!"

Angel didn't turn to look at her as she told him. "Lorne, when he finally stopped crying, he told me his contacts are afraid of the name of Quor'toth. It's not a pleasant place for anyone."

"Unpleasant, huh?" Angel muttered as he walked past Cordelia and went upstairs, stopping at the door of his old apartment, Cordelia following him.

Cordelia then started. "Look, I want Connor and Matt back as much as you do but-"

Angel opened the door and Cordelia froze mid-sentence on seeing Linwood tied up to a chair in the middle of his scorched place.

"Who the hell is this?" Cordelia asked after finding her voice.

"Linwood Murrow, division president of Special Projects at Wolfram and Hart and - you are?"

"Very, very horrified", Cordelia replied.

Linwood then snarled. "Angel has abducted an employee of Wolfram and Hart, there must be consequences."

Angel was arranging different implements on the table behind Linwood.

"Once the firm finds out what you've done..."

Angel inspected a razor blade. "...they'd kill you before they kill me."

Cordelia started. "Look Angel, I think this bastard does deserve it."

"Good."

"But doing this won't do anything", Cordelia pointed out.

"He better hope it does", Angel shrugged.

Linwood started listing. "At last count the charges were kidnapping, assault and battery and attempt..." Linwood trailed off as Angel sets down the tray holding his chosen implements on the table next to Linwood, and stared as Angel picked up the note-spike. "...none of which - I intend to press. - In fact, let's not press anything, shall we?"

Angel sat down across from him, spike in hand. "Wanna find your son? I can guarantee that the full force and faith of Wolfram and Hart will be at your disposal."

Angel leaned in close, the tip of the spike hovering in front of Linwood's right eye. "Who is Sahjhan? How do I get my hands on him?"

Linwood broke quite easily. "If you'll just hit 'three' - on my speed dial... Cell phone in my jacket pocket."

After a beat Angel pulled out Linwood's cell, and did so, then held the ringing phone to Linwood's ear. "Hello Lilah. I'm sending over a client, and I want you to listen very carefully because I have explicit instructions on how to deal with him. - Give him anything he wants."

"Well, this I don't mind", Cordelia shrugged, since Angel didn't have to do anything at all to Linwood.

Fred, Gunn and Groo arrived at Holtz's base and looked around, while Fred commented. "Looks like they did everything except take out the trash."

Then Groo said. "This is a trap."

The remainder of Holtz's men surrounded them. Gunn pushed Fred behind him and took two guys down when Fred was knocked down by one as Gunn ended up getting a knife on his throat.

But then Groo grabbed the guy's knife hand, breaking it with his strength as the guy screamed in pain, and Groo decked him hard, sending him down.

Another tried to attack Groo but he lifted the guy and hurled him away before kicking another woman down and roared. "You all helped cause grief to the noble warrior Angel and the Princess!"

Another guy rushed him with a knife but Groo put his hand in the way and was stabbed but felt no pain, as the guy's eyes widened in horror. "Then you helped steal away an innocent baby." He pushed the other guy's hand down, the knife still stuck inside, and punched the guy so hard his neck broke and he died.

He then pulled the knife out and hurled it at another one's throat. "And ruined the freedom of another noble warrior because of your allegiances to a man responsible for stealing an innocent baby."

"Get the hell out of here!" One guy cried out as most of them ran out of the place in fear of Groo, and Groo hit one of them on the throat with his bicep as he tried to run past him, taking him down too.

"Damn! You're hardcore!" Gunn praised Groo who simply nodded.

"Let's go", Fred said and the three walked out of there while she said about Groo's hand. "Pain or not, you need first-aid. We have stuff in the car."

Lilah and Angel were walking down the halls of Wolfram and Hart. "Kidnapping Linwood. You're really stepping up to it. The white room. I mean, they just don't talk about it. God, the white room. I was here three years before I even heard of it. Did he tell you what was in it?"

"Answers." They came at the elevator. "Up or down?"

"Up."

Angel pushed the up button and they entered. Once inside Angel pulled out a piece of paper then punched the floor buttons in a certain sequence.

"He tell you how to get there? - There was a guy in litigation. He went to the white room in September. He's in an asylum now."

She then asked. "And Matt, he and I dated for months, I never knew he had it in him. What the hell is he?"

Angel grabbed her by the throat, making her gasp. "He is my best friend."

Angel let go, then pulled out one of the buttons, and a new, bigger button appeared above the other ones.

"Wow. I should probably hold on to..." Lilah reached for the paper in Angel's hand, but he stuffed it in his pocket. Angel pushed the button and the elevator dissolved into a blinding white light.

When the brightness dimmed, Angel and Lilah found themselves in a big, white, empty room.

"Hello."

Angel and Lilah turned around to see a little girl sitting primly on a chair.

"Angel", she turned to Lilah. "Lilah. Your fingernails are pretty. I love red." She turned to Angel. "You have a taste for red, too - and revenge. I know. It's so much more fun than forgiveness. So what's up?"

Angel told her. "A demon named Sahjhan has taken my son. My best friend went after him."

"Oh, do you want you little baby and the Heir to Hell back here?"

Angel took a step forward, but Lilah put a hand on his arm and he stopped.

"Baby's gone. And I don't want the Heir to Hell around- You want Sahjhan. Nowadays you can walk right through him, but in the past they were something else."

Angel listened as she said. "They were all about torture and death. You can relate. Well, they caused a lot of trouble. Don't get me wrong. I like trouble. But I hate chaos. So we changed 'em."

"You made them immaterial", Angel realized.

"Smart boy", the girl quipped. "Now they watch, and they can no longer touch."

Angel asked. "How do you capture them?"

She revealed. "Well, there is a special urn." "They're expensive and hard to come by. - But you don't want his essence in a jar. You want something you can sink your teeth into."

Angel slowly turned his head to look at Lilah.

"You know these things always come at a price. - Kill her."

Lilah looked from the girl to Angel, who was reaching over without hesitation to break Lilah's neck. The girl let out a giggle, but stopped him before he could complete the action. "That's good for now."

Angel let Lilah go as the girl said. "I can see why they respect you. Now, as to your demon made flesh. It's a big ritual. All here."

The girl held up her hand. On it lay a folded piece of parchment. The paper disappeared from her hand and reappeared in Angel's.

"Can't wait to see how it turns out."

It dissolved to white again.

Meanwhile, Fred and Gunn had found Wesley's notes and seen 'The Father Will Kill The Son' prophecy, finally realizing why Wesley had done what he had done, and they walked out when they saw Groo walking out of some bushes, holding Wesley, whose throat was sliced.

"Oh my God! Wes!" Fred ran to him with Gunn as they saw his eyes were closed.

Gunn started. "Is he-"

"No, he is just unconscious, he was dragged to the bushes by someone", Groo informed, having used his tracker skills to find Wesley."

The two sighed in relief as Fred suggested. "I'm calling an ambulance. When he has gone to the hospital, we will go to Angel."

At Hyperion, Angel straightened up from painting a circle and pentagram on the floor of the Hyperion's lobby as Cordelia warned. "Angel, I've a bad feeling about this."

Lilah responded. "There is no other way."

"Not really considering the opinion of someone who had me tortured", Cordelia sneered.

"Oh come on! That was just business, get over it", Lilah smirked as Cordelia was about to speak when Angel asked. "How's that?"

Lilah shrugged. "Looks about right."

"What's next?"

Cordelia said. "What's next is we reconsider this."

"No", Angel told her before turning to Lilah: "Next?"

Lilah consulted the notes. "Human blood."

Angel took the paper from her and read, then looked at Lilah who turned as they looked at Linwood sitting bound to his chair across from the pentagram.

Lilah picked up a knife and walked over to stand in front of Linwood, scaring him as he thought she'd take his blood. Never taking her eyes off his face she slowly sliced the knife across the palm of her left hand, then went to dribble some of her blood into the middle of the pentagram.

Angel turned out the lights and started to read from the paper. "Corpus granok Sahjhan demonicus."

A blue light began to swirl around the painted circle, then congealed into a vaguely humanoid shape in the middle of the pentagram. Angel reached for his battle-ax and Cordelia rushed to the weapons cabinet.

There was a flash of light and a burst of wind and then the pentagram was dark and empty again.

"What the hell?" Cordelia asked.

"Where is he? Huh?" Angel banged the ax into the floor then leveled it at Linwood. "Where is he?!"

Linwood had no answer.

Not getting a response, Angel dragged the chair with the tied up Linwood to the stairs as Linwood yelled. "Lilah! Do something!"

"Angel, he deserves to die, but doing it wouldn't solve a thing!" Cordelia tried to stop him.

Linwood reminded. "Angel, we had a deal! I gave you everything you asked for. What more do you want from me?"

"I want my son and best friend back."

"Lilah!"

Lilah came running, cell phone in hand. "Hey, whoa! Flag on the play. The firm's tech team just registered a sever bio-plasmic disturbance at Tabor and National at the same time as the spell."

"Sahjhan?" Angel asked.

Lilah nodded. "Whatever it was flipped a two ton truck like a Tonka toy."

Angel let go of the chair and Linwood tumbled down the steps, the chair breaking to pieces, and landed at Lilah's and Cordelia's feet.

Fred, Gunn and Groo came running in, stopping Angel at the bottom of the steps as Fred said. "We need to talk."

"Not now."

Angel tried to get past her, but Fred stepped in his way again.

"Fred!"

"There's something you need to know before..." Angel moved around her and ran for the doors. "The father will kill the son!"

Angel stopped on the landing and slowly turned around.

"There is a prophecy in the Nyazian Scrolls. Wesley checked the translation, the commentaries, even went to the mystical oracles, but he couldn't disprove it."

Gunn reminded. "They already fed you Connor's blood, bro. You said it yourself. He smelled like food."

"So that was it", Cordelia realized. "I knew Wesley wouldn't do this without a reason."

Fred added. "He was trying to protect Connor."

Gunn said. "He was trying to protect you - same as we're doing right now."

After a moment Angel turned back to the doors. Fred hurried to step between him and the doors. "Angel, the prophecy..."

"It's a lie. I'd never hurt Connor", Angel said firmly.

Fred asked. "How can you know that for sure?"

"I'd never hurt someone I care about. - Now move."

With a sigh Fred stepped aside and Angel left as Groo asked. "Where is Lorne?"

"Upstairs", Cordelia sighed when they saw Lilah help Linwood to his feet.

Gunn asked. "What are they doing here?"

Cordelia told them. "There was kidnapping, a spell, dark magic. It's bad, kids."

Linwood and Lilah walked out of the place, glaring at them all hatefully as Fred and Gunn walked upstairs to check on Lorne, knocking on his door, but got no answer.

So they peeped in and saw Lorne sitting on the ground with his back to his bed, wearing all black clothes instead of his usual bright ones, for mourning, and he clutched the picture of Matt with Team Angel closer to his chest, and he didn't look good.

The song 'All By Myself' played as Lorne sang it too sadly. "All by myself. Don't wanna be, All by myself."

Fred and Gunn pulled themselves out of the room.

"Let's give him some time." Gunn suggested.

"Agreed." They walked away, still shocked by the scene. "That was...surreal."

"Lorne and Matt were tight...are, I mean. I think it has to be because Matt's the only one with pipes as good as his."

As they walked down, Groo offered. "I can track Angel to where he has gone."

"Sure", Fred nodded as they followed Groo.

Angel found the underground base where Holtz had first woken up while hearing the screeching of tires and turned as Fred, Gunn and Groo walked out.

"Guys, go back", Angel requested.

"No!" Fred denied as Angel sighed and entered, the other three with him.

Sahjhan was already there as he quipped. "My home. Uninvited guests. This can't end well."

He turned to Angel. "Angel. I'm guessing I have you to thank for the whole mortal coil thing."

"Yeah", Angel responded and asked. "Tell you what: you take me to the Quor-toth world, help me find my son and best friend, we'll call it even."

"Really? You and me? Buddy cop, summer release?" Sahjhan quipped. "We iron out our wacky differences and bond? I don't think so."

"You're taking me there", Angel demanded.

Sahjahn said. "Couldn't, even if I wanted to."

"You're lying."

"No. That I'm telling the truth about. Your kid's gone, for good. I could open the Quor-toth exactly one time. That's why I chose it. Try again - the whole universe could go kaplooey. Bad for me, bad for America."

Fred read through the lines. "So, what are you lying about?"

"Oh, well, I don't like to brag, but - read any good prophecies lately?" Sahjhan asked as they realized what he was saying.

Gunn snarled. "You wrote the prophecies."

Sahjhan shrugged. "More a re-write."

Fred spoke. "The father will kill the son."

"So it was you", Groo snarled.

"Yeah. I flitted back and forth in time. Changed the one that threatened me, polished some others. Flitted in a manly way - just so we're clear", Sahjhan turned to Angel. "You're not really my enemy. You're in my home and I'm gonna kick your ass, but you were never the point."

Angel realized. "It was Connor."

Sahjhan quipped. "Boy! Can't put one over on you, can you? Oh, wait - already did. It's pretty freaky the first time you see your name in a true prophecy all carved in blood on an official scroll. "The one sired by the vampire with a soul will grow to manhood and kill Sahjhan." Me!"

Fred also concluded. "So you planted false prophecies, that Angel would kill his son, and Wesley believed them."

Sahjhan told them. "Thank god he had some spine. Holtz was useless. He wanted to raise your kid as his own! I'm living with a knife over my heart for eleven hundred years and he's into petty revenge! If he'd just killed the damn thing while it was still in its mother we could have avoided all this! But it worked out in the end, and I never have to worry about Mephisto's spawn again."

Angel morphed and attacked Sahjhan, but Sahjhan deflected him into the wall. Gunn hit Sahjhan and got knocked down. Groo then struck his face before being kicked away.

Angel then decked Sahjhan and continued doing so while Fred helped Gunn. Groo then rushed behind Sahjhan and held him in a chokehold from behind.

Angel kicked Sahjhan multiple times before Sahjhan grasped Groo's and hurled him off, then hit Angel who dodged.

Angel then elbowed him before being tossed down.

Fred took hold of one of the fire bowls and tossed the burning coals into Sahjhan's face. Sahjhan shook them off and looked at Fred. "Do I look like I need more skin problems?"

Sahjhan went to attack Fred, but Angel knocked her out of the way. Sahjhan kicked Angel then threw him down as they fought more. Angel punched, then tried to kick but Sahjhan grabbed his foot, only to get a headbutt. Sahjhan then tossed Angel hard against the wall. Gunn attacked and got batted away.

Groo then rammed into Sahjhan, sending him back, and decked him multiple times, then grabbed his throat, managing to pin him down with his strength, and Sahjhan struggled before decking Groo's face thrice, and elbowed his hands, making him let go, and hurled him away.

Sahjhan then grabbed Angel by the throat and threw him around a bit more, in the end tossing Angel onto the table. Angel's face morphed back to human. Sahjhan broke a chair and picked a leg to stake Angel. "Had to put your boy down. Pity. The kid had a big future. I mean big." Sahjhan raised his stake. "Oh well, we all gotta go sometime."

Suddenly, Sahjhan froze and Hell-fire surrounded him as he screamed in pain, and Angel rolled away as all saw Mephisto standing there, and were terrified by his very presence.

Sahjhan couldn't see him but knew it was him.

"You know, I really must thank you, Sahjhan, if you hadn't been so afraid of a child, then I wouldn't get my own. So, to show my appreciation, let me treat you...in Hell."

Then Sahjhan was swallowed into a fiery portal, screaming in agony, and that was it.

Mephisto closed the portal and turned to face Team Angel, looking very cheerful.

"You should see Abaddon at work. What a son he is! Much better than my other spawn. Blackheart was a disappointment, Mephista is a bitch, and Greylight is such a bore. But Abaddon, my little Omen," he clutched the place where a human heart lay, "This must be what pride feels like."

The others were too shocked and even scared to respond as Mephisto turned the other way and walked off, before saying. "Don't worry about that bitch that cut your friends throat, she's getting hers, and then some."

He turned to Angel. "If it wasn't for you and that baby, Matthew would never surrender himself to Abaddon, considers this a thank you. I owe you one, and I will return the favor by torturing Sahjhan and Justine for all eternity."

With that, he disappeared, leaving behind the defeated Team Angel.

Next morning, Hyperion

Angel stood in the darkened room staring at Wesley's desk. Lorne entered, still in black, though better now, watching Angel's back for a beat and Cordelia was with him.

"I cleaned the Pentagram as best as I could", Cordelia said. "Though it's a bigger bitch than I was in Sunnydale."

"Thanks."

Cordelia shrugged. "You know me, like to keep busy."

Angel sighed. "It's not right."

He said regretfully. "All I could think of was getting my hands on Sahjhan; Fred, Gunn and Groo tried to keep me from..."

"Going too far?" Lorne asked as well as finished.

Angel told them. "I nearly got them killed."

Cordelia had to agree there. "Yeah you did. But it didn't work out that way, thankfully."

Lorne then said. "Angel, there's a bigger picture here. And in that bigger picture there's a glass."

Angel snarled. "If the words "glass is half full" are about to come out of your mouth, don't."

Lorne pointed out. "No, this is more a "glass half full of spiked blood.""

Cordelia agreed. "Yeah, the bitch and Sahjhan had almost pulled off their feeding plan. If they did, you'd have Connor's blood on your hands."

Angel looked at them for a beat. "Don't I anyway? And Matt's too?"

"No. You think there was something more you could have done? You did everything you could with the knowledge you had..." Lorne trailed off. "...just like Wesley." He added. "You know, maybe the way to start forgiving yourself is by starting to forgive him."

"He's at the hospital now. Fred and Gunn went to see him", Cordelia informed.

"Let's go then", Angel muttered as he and Cordelia walked out too while Lorne watched, with Groo coming up to him too.

Angel walked into a hospital waiting room to find Fred and Gunn getting up from a couch as Gunn said. "Hey. It's good you came, man."

"Wouldn't stop yammering until he came", Cordelia quipped.

Angel let out a sigh. "He ask for me?"

"Nah, he can't speak yet. Trachea is all messed up. Lost a lot of blood. It's just good you came", Gunn told him.

Fred added. "He's not completely out of the woods yet. You're being here can only help."

After a beat Angel inquired. "Can I see him?"

Fred nodded. "I'm sure he'd like that."

Angel moved past them to the door of room 319 and opened it.

There were x-rays of his throat hanging on the wall. Wesley, an IV in the back of his left hand and a bandage around his throat, was lying on the bed with his eyes closed. A heart monitor was beeping in the background. Angel closed the door and walked over to the bed as Wesley's eyes blinked open.

Angel broke the ice. "Hey, Wes. I just - I want you to know I understand why you did it. I know about the prophecies and I know how hard it must have been for you to - do what you did. You thought I was gonna turn evil and kill my son. I didn't. It's important you know that. This isn't Angelus talking. It's me, Angel. You know that, right?"

Wesley blinked his eyes once.

"Good." Angel suddenly pulled the pillow out from under Wesley's head and pushed it down on Wesley's face. "You son of a bitch, you're gonna pay for what you did! You took my son! You son of a bitch! You bastard!"

Outside, Cordelia's, Fred's and Gunn's heads jerked up out in the waiting room as a heart monitor alarm went off and orderlies ran past them to reach Wesley's room.

Angel was in a rage. "You think I'd forgive you?! No! Never! You're gonna die! You hear me? You're gonna pay!"

Wesley's hands were fumbling over Angel's arms and shoulders.

The first orderly ran in and pulled Angel and the pillow off Wesley for a moment. Angel shrugged him off and pushed the pillow back down on Wesley's face. "You took my son! You took my son!"

Fred screamed. "Stop it!"

Cordelia screamed too. "Angel, don't kill him!"

Angel roared. "You took my son! And I lost Matt because he TRIED TO FIX YOUR MESS!"

Two more orderlies and Gunn grabbed a hold of Angel and pulled him off Wesley as Gunn urged. "Angel! Stop!"

Angel was screaming. "NEVER! NEVER!"

Cordelia begged. "Angel, please don't!"

Angel had lost it.

"I'LL KILL HIM! YOU'RE DEAD!"

The orderlies and Gunn wrestled Angel backwards out of the room as Gunn said. "Angel, stop, man."

Wesley was lying on his bed, gasping for breath. Angel roared.

"YOU'RE DEAD! YOU'RE A DEAD MAN, PRYCE! YOU'RE DEAD! I'LL KILL YOU! I'LL KILL YOU. YOU'RE A DEAD MAN! DEAD! DEAD!"

New York Sanctum

"But why?" Stick asked Strange, not believing what he had just heard.

"I am having trouble finding where Matt is, Mephisto clearly did something when he sent Matt into that portal", Strange said grimly. "I am unable to get a lock on him, not even in Quor'toth."

"And?" Stick asked.

"Even if I do find him, I'd have to struggle against a Hell-Lord's spawn", Strange pointed out. "Then there's Mephisto himself. If I interfere, he is going to make sure the world pays the price. And unlike Dormammu, he knows how to swing bargains in his favor."

Stick realized there was nothing that could be done now as Strange said with regret in his voice. "I must stand down."

Stick knew there was only one possible outcome now. "Only Matty can do something about this now."

Done at last, thanks a lot to Brainstorm Sorcerer for the help again.

Not very different but hope the addition of Cordelia and Groo was enjoyed, since Groo was quite the badass in Pylea but we didn't see it that much when he came on Earth (Gee, I wonder why. Oh wait! Because they only brought him back to mess up Cangel!), so I corrected that here.

Now Mephisto has got both Sahjhan and Justine.

That ending scene has me traumatized to this day.

Hope all enjoyed and see you all next time with another chapter.
